So I've been strolling through this site wondering if I'd make an account or not (I have work so I don't get a huge amount of time to post) but I watched this anime a while ago and kept thinking what a fun game it would make AND THEN I SEE THIS RP!! And I've just got to get in on it. So I'll try and get a sheet up later today and hopefully avoid making any horrendous RP blunders.

Glad to have you aboard. And there's not many mistakes you can make, so long as you post consistently.

@Kalin Scarlet I was wondering if its okay to start at a high level so instead of being just a rookie being like a Familia's ace or something along those lines. If not it a fine too I would just prefer it, plus you might need someone to protect all the little scallywags to make sure none of the die (too quickly)

U-Uhhhh....

I think we need to see about that... Just make a normal character, for now, okay?

@Bills352 , this sounds like the best idea, really. It would be boring for you to have a high level character going on low level adventures, after all. I'll wait for more opinions before I make an executive decision, but If you go with something like this, I wouldn't mind at all.

The idea of having a more experienced character who looks after the new bloods seems nice but I imagine giving them better gear/stats would make things unbalanced or boring for the controlling player since they'd be going on low level adventures with them and (to me at least) a big part of the appeal is seeing your character grow from being a newbie to an elite adventurer.
Maybe they could meet half way? As in have a new adventurer who prefers to act as a team player and is almost parental to the others? Or they could be an older adventurer who has a lot of experience but has been out of the business for a long time due to injury or something and as a result their skills have gotten rusty, hence the lower stats. Experience and knowledge of monsters could even be their ability. Then they could still act that way but experience as much growth as the others.

@Kalin Scarlet: While I'm on the subject I can't send PMs yet to discuss abilities for my own characters but I was thinking for Iroh his could be called "Fox Eyes" that translates to him being able to see better in low light. Sort of a racial bonus I guess.
I understand what you mean but in reality my character will stand there half the time shouting at all the newbies (Which will be pretty damn fun for me), as for the unbalanced part yes he would be however he would only ever get involved if someone is going to die or if something is out of place which for me is fine, in fact I would prefer that I kind of like the idea of my character being like the mentor and older brother to the rest. Oh and with the type of character i'm going for this would not get boring at all if you want I can PM you him (or at least the personality) first @Kalin Scarlet just to show you why. (Also I hate leveling one of the other reasons why I asked as well in real life)

For the injury part, I wouldn't mind that since my character if of a older age group getting injured would take him out of it for a while, however with the type of character i'm going for he wouldn't let a little injury stop him from training meaning the only way this would work is if he was comatosed which I suppose I could do.

So, have we settled on a game system, mechanically... last I heard we just had the suggestion of OVA.

I'm working in that now, @vinom. I've got just about everything for combat set, now just working on exp gain and leveling as a whole. Does anyone want to help with picking monsters for the first 9 floors?

OH, so there is stuff being talked about. I'd want to help with that, though I'm still working on what my character's abilities are going to be. I'm thinking Nicola has some critical hit bonus (for picking out openings in defense) or ignoring a small amount of defense points sometimes. For Leon, it would be something that makes him more resilient to stuns. I'd have to see the mechanics before I make a decision though.

Okay, so I'm going with basic DnD for combat. Maybe effects could be activated on critical hits? I hadn't worked effects out yet, but thats something we can add later.

Actually....

Things that need to be worked on:

*Decide on item mechanics

*Decide on effects

*Decide on early level monsters

*Need more Gods/Godesses for Familias

Can I just be honest. We're all waiting for a certain loli boob goddess.

...oh right, forgot how broad that statement was...

Roll a d20, add a modifier(in most cases), which is attackers hit - defenders dodge, there's your result. You subtract defense from the damage, and that's the result.

I know, I know... But until she shows up, I'm sure we can all come up with some other fine men and women to serve...can't we?

Sounds very stripped down... how will damage tags be calculated, how will defense be calculated, how will skills work?

Don't use big words like damage tags, I only know very barebones information on DnD. Still haven't gotten a chance to play, either...

Anyways, skills should be easy to work out. I just need to think it out a bit. And defense has been accounted for. There aren't separate rolls for dodging and attacking, if that's what you meant.

Has the executive decision been reached about the higher level character yet?

Yeah, not really... Look, I'll give you level two with 100 more exp. That's means you'll start off with the chance to level 4 stats instead of three.

At a level up, your stats reset anyways. You can be the expert, and grow with everyone else. How does that sound? I just don't want to have an over levelled character running around as a buffer for everyone else, truth be told. It takes away from the danger of a character dying.

I mean seriously, by this combat system a morphic slime ninja is equally as dodgy as a orc brute.
