Realistic or Modern Last Summer

Tom eventually summoned up the courage to start walking back towards the house. He kept his head pointed at the ground, avoiding looking at anyone. He mumbled what might have been a greeting in passing, moving quickly up to his room. The nerd closed the door behind him letting out a sigh of relief. Made it. Now I just have to somehow last the entire day at the beach without noticing Annabelle or Eve in their bathing suits...I'm doomed. Tom groaned and flopped onto his bed, trying anyway he could think of to mentally prepare himself. He eventually slid his bathing suit on. He continued wearing the hoodie, he would take it off when he had to. Oh god. They're gonna laugh when they see how pale I am.

Tom eventually opened the door back up and took a deep breath. The nerd began walking down the steps -very- slowly, still keeping his head downcast.
"Uh. Okay. I'm ready. I better get the password after this Paeyton." Tom wasn't actually angry, he couldn't be. He scratched the back of his head, watching everyone's legs. When they started to move he would follow behind. He made sure he couldn't see anything but everyone's legs, lest he catch a glimpse of any girls. He didn't want another panic attack.

Ales stared out her window and watched as a group of people headed towards the beach. She casually watched them with mild interest when... She bolted towards her wardrobe and changed into her swimsuit with lightning speed, storming out of the house and after her friends. When she caught up to them, panting, she put he hand on Thomas's shoulder with a teasing voice. "Thought you could leave me behind?"

Flopping onto the bed, Nat stayed for another minute or so, almost falling asleep. Suddenly sitting up, she hopped off her bed, swinging her door open. Paeyton's voice had reached her room, and Nat was afraid they would leave her home. Anna clumsily teetered down the steps, her bikini cover-up slipping in all sorts of different directions.

Finally reaching the last step, Anna looked like an absolute mess. How did that even happen? She wondered, trying to catch her breath. The hair she had tied in a neat little bun was loose and drooping, her cover-up had slipped off her left shoulder, and she left one of her flip flops on the seventh step of the staircase. Face-palming, she sighed, laughing at herself. Nat leaned her head against the wall, realizing that she was just in time--they hadn't left yet. Being semi-sleepy, half-dead, and in drowsy condition earlier had left her in a panicked state.

While waiting for the rest of the group to arrive downstairs, Anna slipped her cover-up over her head and set it next to her. Taking out her mini bottle of sunscreen, she set her clear beach bag down, tossing her cover-up inside. Lathering it on, she huffed contently. "I had better not look like a lobster after this, or I will kill the sun," she muttered to herself, crossing her arms. How does one kill the sun, you may wonder. Well, you see, she hadn't thought that far yet. She'll figure it out when the time comes.

Tom was acting rather odd, and he began ranting on and on about Fallout 4 and some kind of perk system the game had. He always got so nervous around her, and she never understood why. Eve chuckled quietly, looking a bit amused. And then, the intercom went off.

Jolting just slightly, Eve was a bit startled by Paeyton's voice suddenly booming throughout the house. She almost knocked her glass of water off the counter. The beach sounded lovely, although Eve tended to burn in the sun, instead of tan. Deciding to join up with the rest of the group, Eve followed Annie up the stairs, and entered her room, which was right next to Annabelle's. She dug through her suitcase for a few moments, before finding a light pink strapless bikini hidden away underneath layers of dresses and summer clothes.

In an instant, Eve changed into it and slipped a white sundress over top as a cover-up. Instead of a bun, she quickly french-braided her hair. A floppy sunhat hung on the bedpost, in which she quickly scooped up and set firmly on her head. Grabbing a towel and a small bag with her sunglasses and sunscreen inside, Eve made her way downstairs, joining the others. She saw Lucas near the doorway, not even knowing he was here. Eve smiled warmly as she approached them.

"Hey, Luke. Long time no see." She giggled softly, her smile bright. Even Ollie was there, and she flashed him a small little wave and a shy smile as well.

Oliver smiled back at Eve as he lifted up his sunglasses, which revealed lightly bloodshot eyes. He gave her quick wink and placed the sunglasses back in their rightful position. He then quickly checked Eve out, scanning her petite body. "You look gorgeous, little lady." He gave her another smile, "And you know coming from me, that it's true."

Paeyton could feel the energy drink kicking in she practically finished the first can and they hadn't even reached the beach yet, she put some music on, and turned the music up as loud as it could go and started singing. One thing that Paeyton had issues with was jealousy, over the smallest things, seeing the way girls acted around Lucas made her either upset or angry, even when it would be her closest friends, although she trusted them and him, she couldn't help but be on edge. But of course she kept it to herself and focused on what she was doing.

Thomas was startled by the sudden hand on his shoulder. He was ready to panic, still looking at the floor. He turned to see who it was an perked up when he noticed it was his best friend. He grinned from ear to ear, wrapping his arms around her tightly. This sight was probably strange for everyone else, but not for Thomas. His relationship with Ales was very close and purely platonic. He hardly even noticed that she was a girl sometimes. "Where the hell have you been!? It's been so long!"

Tom was still hugging the girl when he heard what Oliver said. His arms tightened around the girl in anger, now squeezing her nearly as hard as he could. Without loosening his grip, Tom peeked over Ales' shoulder. When he saw Eve his face immediately flushed, noticing how pretty the girl looked. The nerd instinctively pressed his face into Ales' chest, squeezing his eyes shut. He spoke quietly so that only she could hear him.
"That's my problem! Eve is going to fall in love with Oliver but she doesn't know I like her! What do I do Ales? You're a girl, tell me how to get girls to like me!"

Ales cringed. She painfully answered, "Well... I guess you should tell her. I mean, if she doesn't like you, now you know and you can move on. But if she does like you... one point for Thomas." None for Ales.

She looked over towards Eve and compared their clothing. Perhaps she had chosen something too simple. No. Just relax. She turned back towards Tom and said, "Don't worry about Oliver. She obviously knows he likes her, but she's not returning his feelings."

The rest of the group finally found their way downstairs, and it seemed quite lively. Spotting Eve standing to the side, she launched herself at her best friend, nuzzling her cheek to Evie's.

"You-look-adorable!" Natalie purred, sticking her tongue out playfully. Ruffling Evie's hair, she couldn't help but give Evie a bear hug. She always found the girl adorable as heck, and comparable to an animal. A cute, cuddly, furry animal.

Tom was also to the side, talking with Ales. Giving an Ales a quick smile, she waved excitedly, happy to see her mother. Being the mature one of the group, Anna always called Ales 'mom' jokingly. Not wanting to scare Tom, she merely nodded politely, acknowledging his presence.

Anna laughed softly, seeing Tom squeezing the air out of Ales. Nothing was particularly odd, since Ales never told Anna about any romantic feelings for Tom. They were close friends, just as she and Evie were.

"You think so?"

Eve asked shyly, glancing down at herself and admiring the white sundress she wore for a few moments. Looking back up, she smiled sweetly, blushing a little bit. Before she could really say anything else, Annie practically tackled her from behind, nuzzling her cheek to hers lovingly.

"You-look-adorable!" Eve heard Annie exclaim, causing her to giggle quietly. She felt Annie rustle her hair playfully, and then she was pulled into a big bear hug, being suffocated just slightly. Eve returned the hug, although not as tightly. Happiness spread through her in delicate waves of warmth, making her smile widen. Even though it had only been a week or so since they'd seen each other, it felt like an eternity. Eve was happy to be reunited with Annie again, along with everyone else. The thought caused her cheeks to turn rosy, and she rested her head against Annie's shoulder, almost knocking off the sunhat on her head in the process.

Eve too saw Ales out of the corner of her eyes, and managed to send a small smile in her direction, followed by a wave. The two were never particularly close, but they were still friends nonetheless. Tom was hugging her rather tightly, and Eve looked sad for a moment, feeling discouraged. But the frown quickly left her face as she pushed away the unwanted thoughts and managed another smile, glancing back at Ollie.

Tom pulled his face from the girls chest, looking up at her with a goofy grin. "If I could talk to girls I might do that, but I can't. You know this." The nerd seemed to not notice the contradiction he had just made. He continued standing there with his arms wrapped around her, staring at her. Well, through her. Thomas was lost in though, his face a few inches from Ales'. Thomas had an idea, perking up some. "I know Ales! You should go and talk to her for me. Find out if she likes me. And then if she does, I'll text her and tell her how I really feel!"

Thomas' grin widened at the though, sneaking another peek at Eve over Ales' shoulder.
"Gosh she's so pretty. Come on, please Ales? I'll do anything. Anything, I promise! Do you really think she doesn't like Oliver either? Oh gosh I need to know if I have a chance!" The man's face once again began to flush so he hid behind Ales once more. He stared pleadingly into her eyes.

Audrey laughed at the knock at the door. "You'd better not!" She threatened. After a few minutes, she slung the beach bag over her should and stepped out onto the polished hard wood floors. She ran to catch up to Lucas and Paeyton, than began walking beside Lucas. "The beach!" She sucked the salty air in through her nose, held it, then blew it out. "Soo, Paeyton. Are we gonna have a party anytime soon?" She asked reaching across Lucas to nudge Paeyton.

Gabe nodded when he heard the beach. He enjoyed the beach. This would be fun. He quickly grabbed his trunks, and ran back downstairs to everyone else. He stopped when he saw Ales talking to Tom. He blinked. She was wearing a bikini, and Gabe liked it. He tried to avoid staring. He ran over. "Hey Tom! Man, it's nice to see you!"

Ales felt dizzy just listening to him. "Well-" Ales peeled his arms off of her to get out of the uncomfortable position when she saw Gabe walking over. She smiled, glad that he interrupted her so she didn't have to respond. Actually, she would do just about anything for Tom(or anybody for that matter) but that was an impossible task. Eve was shut as tight if not tighter than a clam and would never say if she liked Thomas. Still, she would try. She was a good friend and if he wanted Eve, that was all she had to be.

Gabe hugged Ales then Tom when he reached the two. "God, I missed you Tom," he said, "how've you been? Got the new Fallout game yet? I'm hoping to get Black Ops III, or Star Wars Battlefront. Either one works." Gabe sneaked a glance at Ales, admiring her. It was hard not to stare, but she was sorta distracting.

Oliver nodded, "of course, you always look perfect." He smiled down at Eve. Admiring the pinkness of her cheeks, God he just wanted to kiss her. He quickly swept those thoughts away and looked around at his other friends. He impatiently runs his fingers through his hair, waiting for whatever they were supposed to be doing. He still really had no idea what was going on but he felt good and that's all that matters to him.

The nerd perked up when he saw Gabe, returning the hug. "Hey man. Missed you too!" Thomas began walking towards the beach, seeing that Paeyton and the rest had left them. He spoke over his shoulder, hoping the two would follow him. "I've been good. Of course I got Fallout. What the hell do you think I was doing when I got here? I went up about three levels before I wanted to play something else. I'd still be on my computer if Paeyton would just tell me the wifi password." Tom's eyes lit up, glad he finally got to talk about something he knew about with someone else.

Thomas quickly caught up with the three walking towards the beach, smiling and giving a small wave. "Hey guys. It's good to see you Audrey, Lucas. So Paeyton, about that wifi password. Tom chuckled, turning to look at the beach for the first time. He couldn't help but get excited. Normally he didn't like to be outside but when he was surrounded by friends like this he'd be okay. As long as Eve and Annabelle keep their distance that is. Speaking of Eve, I really hope Ales asks her for me. She's my best friend but she didn't seem too happy about the idea. I wonder why.

Walking with their group towards the beach, Natalie dragged Bunny along, hooking arms with the girl. On the way to the sandy wonderland, Natalie suddenly paused, having come to a life-changing realization. She had always assumed Tom to be terrified of girls, and maybe have a slight case of gynophobia, but obviosuly, that wasn't the case. Tom had basically clung onto Ales for dear life, and showed no signs of fear, whatsoever.

Just how long did it take the slow girl to figure this much out? No one knows. After all, she's know for her sharp-wit and cleverness!--not.

Then again, he also seemed to talk to Paeyton and Audrey just fine. Frowning, Natalie started up her steps once more, sticking her hand out in front of her. Observing her hands, she found no wrong. They weren't scary nor witch-like; in fact, they were well-groomed and even cut short. She ran her fingers through her tangled waves. Although messy, she didn't think it to be all that scary.

What, did I do him some kind of wrong? Why does he avoid me? Then, like an asteroid, a thought hit her. (Please let me have this terrible comparison, please?) Looking down at the girl she hooked arms with, and then back at Tom, she wondered if...

Nah, she shook her head, there's no way... But he is always stuttering around her, while he seems just deadly afraid of me for some reason... Which I still--by the way--do not understand--I mean, I'm 5"3, how scary could I be?

As Auddi made the transition between the cool stone pavement of the walkway onto the hot blazing sand, she could help but tense up a bit, then relax and the sand engulfed her feet. She could feel the seashells prick against her feet, and the dry seaweed inbetween her toes.

She could hear the other groups behind them, along with Annabelle. Auddi mentally groaned, then switched sides to be next to Lucas, and away from Anna. She began to yawn, kind of whishing she had taken a nap before coming out here, but hat feeling didn't last long. Sweat was starting to bead against her face, as she took a drink of water.

It was feeling particularly hot out there, and it wasn't just because of all the tension.

Gabe followed after everyone else. He stopped suddenly. "Hey, Ales," he said, calling back over his shoulder, "you coming, or is that bikini for show only?" He smirked at Ales, knowing that would definitely get her going.

@ThePumpkinQueen

Oliver followed behind the rest, admiring the view as they walked out to the beach. The sun kissed his skin as the smell of the ocean wafted to his nose. He smiled contently, he looked at everyone in front of him. Annabelle had Eve in her hands, of course. He mentally rolled his eyes, but the brought his attention back to Eve. "Shes so beautiful." He thought to himself, Oliver was never one for mushiness but something about Eve made him feel amazing, almost like he was floating on clouds. He never really was one for being too close to people either, as his parents never really cared about him so wasn't really taught how to love or be loved, but there was just something about her that made him feel.. different. He continued admiring the group ghost but shifted his attention to Paeyton and Lucas, he envied them. He wanted what they had, he wanted to be loved for once and not just treated like garbage. He sighed quietly and tried to wave the thoughts away.

Sebastian moved towards Annabelle, putting and arm on her shoulder and let out a little chuckled. The girls was practically attached to Eve, but he didn't really understand what Anna hung so closely to her. It was like they were sisters. "Give the girl some breathing room, why don't you?" He joked, his tone full of humor as they walked. He was sure Eve didn't mind, but he'd make a joke about it anyway. "Not everyone wants to get so up-close and personal with ya, Anne." Another mindless joke as he cracked a wide grin, just to let the girls know he wasn't serious. But that should have already been known, Sebby's playful teasing wasn't anything knew.

"Probably tomorrow" Paeyton replied to Audrey's question igonoring the fact that she was walking a little too close to Lucas for her comfort "And I will give you the password for the wifi soon" she said to Tom know it was probably killing him, well probably not the only thing. It was probably obvious to everyone that both Oliver and Tom we're going after Eve. They finally reached the beach, Paeyton picked a spot to place her towel, she opened another can of Red Bull, she needed it, although it wasn't alcohol it helped her to keep her mind off of things. She did remember that she promised her aunt that she would call her once everyone arrived, she grabbed her phone dialing the number and walked away from the group, but keeping an eye out

As Sebastian came around, sliding his arm around Belle's shoulder, she turned her head to the side, looking towards Sebastian with questioning eyes and a quirked brow.

Laughing, Belle scoffed, "I'll have you know, she has pleenttty of breathing room." Looking at Evie, she realized she had practically stuck herself to Evie like glue. Belle moved a few centimeters off her, and then motioned to Sebas, "see, I told you! Plenty of space."

Annabelle feigned a shocked gasp, pressing her hand to her chest in mock hurt, "Seb, I'll have you know that it's an honor to be up close and personal with yours truly, right Evie?" Anna looked to the girl with expectant, glimmering eyes, whipping her fragrant, strawberry-scented shampoo washed hair in Seb's face. "You should be honored, Seb, to be this close to your princess, okay?" Belle teased, sticking her tongue out.

They had long since arrived on the beach, and Anna could feel the warm, sun-baked sand beneath her feet, as well as the cool, salty ocean breeze. Honestly, it was taking all the self-control in her not to z-line towards the inviting ocean waves. She could practically taste the salt water.

Gabe watched Seb and Annabell hang out with each. He found it a bit disgusting. "Seb! Bella! Get a room, guys!" He called to them in a joking manner. When he saw the ocean, he whistled. "That looks good! Race you all in!" Gabe yelled, and charged past the rest of the group.
