Realistic or Modern Last Summer

Almost immediately, Tom began ranting again about a video game, and how someone criticized it rather harshly, causing him to be upset. Eve nodded slowly in understanding, not knowing if that was really the truth of not. She still looked a bit concerned though, her eyebrows furrowed slightly.

"I'm sorry that made you upset." Eve commented softly. It seemed he was avoiding her, his gaze directed forward. Tom's face was red, and she could practically feel the embarrassment radiating off him in waves of emotion. It made her extremely nervous, being around him especially. She'd liked him for quite a long time now, but expressing how she felt wasn't one of her strong traits. However, that didn't stop her from trying to reach him. He was always so distant from her when she tried to interact with him, and in some ways, she'd like to know why.

"Mind if I sit with you?" She asked while motioning towards a spot in the sand directly next to him. Although she didn't necessarily show it, Eve was beyond nervous, and it made her even more nervous knowing he was too.

Finally spitting out all of the sandy seaweed and salty taste from her mouth, Natalie walked over to her towel and laid down, a little worn out. She could still taste the salty ocean water, but she was more than happy to if it meant staying in a luxurious mansion with her friends and being able to go to the beach whenever.

Reaching her hands into her bag, she reapplied her sunscreen quickly, not putting much effort into it. Though she always managed to get sunburnt, she never took the proper time nor effort to lather on a sufficient amount of sunscreen. More often than not, she would be burned on her shoulders for her lack of proper sunscreen application.

Looking ahead of her, Oliver sat, not far from where she was sitting. A small smile crept onto her lips. It was nice to see him out at the beach, hanging out with the group. Most of the time, he was inside smoking, not doing much. It was good for him to get some fresh air now and then, Natalie concluded.

Looking to her right, Seb was laying defensively, no doubt trying to get a good tan. Her signature smirk surfaced, as she stealthily crept over to him with a piece of seaweed in her hand. Slowly, she raised her hand over his face, dangling the seaweed inches from his lips.

It's time to give him a taste of seaweed, I should think, Natalie thought silently, suppressing an evil cackle.

Lucas laughed as she let out a string of courses and stomped at her defeat. Audrey began to swim away, tossing another challenge at him to catch her. "We'll see about that!" he called out, already diving into the water and swimming after her. His powerful kicks and pulls quickly allowed him to catch up to the thin girl. When he neared her, he wrapped his arms around her and picked her up. A playful glint in his hazel green eyes, Lucas threw her into the air and tossed her into the water a few feet away from him, laughing as he watched her land into the ocean with a big splash. His gaze found itself on Paeyton, who was relaxing on the sand and most likely trying to get a good tan. "You sure you don't want to join us?" he called to her. Even though he knew his girlfriend didn't enjoy swimming, he figured it wouldn't hurt to try.

Sebastian didn't really believe in that ghost stuff, but he definitely felt a presence above him. He opened his eyes and looked up, jumping about 10 feet in the air as he saw a hand above him. He didn't know who it belonged to, but he was scared as shit and that usually wasn't a natural occurrence. Sebby scowled as he noticed a familiar face next to him, realizing that it was only Nat. He wanted to be mad, but it was only a joke so he wouldn't get too angry.

"You scared the shit out of me." He whined, a pout forming where he was trying to scowl. He wanted to glare at her but his childish ways was surfacing. Now that he thinks about it, he would have done the same thing to her if she was so defensively laying like he was, but that didn't stop him from whining. "What told you that would be a good idea?" He asked.

Paeyton couldn't help but stare at Audrey and Lucas in the water, she hated that her own fear was keeping her from having fun. She looked at Seb as he sat down next to her, she pulled her hair up into a bun adjusting her sunglasses, she pulled a magazine out of her bag, mainly using it to cover the fact that she was looking at Lucas and Audrey, she did trust him, but even though she was close friends with Audrey she didn't really trust her. The biggest issue was probably her own insecurities. She tensed up as he picked her up and turned her head but looked back as Lucas yelled to her asking her to join them, she shook her head no. She didn't feel like doing something she may regret later

Annabelle jumped a little herself, startled by the sudden movement Sebas made. Shaking her head, she laughed, beads of water dripping from her wet waves, "well, yeah genius. Scaring you was kind of the point?"

Slightly charmed by the puppy pout he gave her, Anna laughed, returning the favor. Jutting out her lip, she threw the slimy piece of seaweed at his chest, crossing her arms. "You didn't even let me finish what I was doing," Anna argued, as if she was in the right.

"Hm, the idea? Well, this little smart ass with a pretty nice ass," Anna replied, pretending to think, "oh wait, I'm talking about myself! Oops." Anna shrugged, pretending to look innocent. Moments later, she burst into laughter, leaning back and resting on her palms. It was hard for her to stay serious, even for a couple minutes.

Tom at first thought he had hear her wrong. No, she couldn't have said what he thought she did, right? When he noticed she wasn't moving away he thought he might have a heart attack. He still looked out over the water, opening his mouth to speak. He winced when no words would come out, resorting to nodding his head vigorously.

He turned to look at the girl for the first time, thankful his voice wasn't working. He thought she looked beautiful and probably would have made some weird noise. She's so pretty. I wonder why she wants to sit next to me. Thomas' face was now beet red from embarassment and nervousness. He stole another quick peek at her before looking back out at the water.

Okay Tom this is our chance. Play it cool. The nerd spoke, his voice quivering with nervousness. You... Uh I mean your bathing suit...I mean...Pretty. Tom groaned internally.

(Sorry for late replies.be home soon)

Sebastian looked at her while she laughed, his face struggling to stay serious as she was cracking up. Again, if this was anyone else, he'd probably be real mad by now, but this was his best friend, so he only shook her head at her and turned away. But her laughter was contagious and soon he was cracking up too. "Oh god, look what you make me do." He said, in between breaths as he was trying to calm down.

"I'm very happy you didn't finish actually, seaweed in the the mouth would have been disgusting." He pulled a nasty face as he removed the seaweed from his chest and proceeded to throw it in a random direction, half hoping it would hit someone. "You're crazy." He added at the end, just so she could know.

♡Annabelle Natalia Moreau♡
"Hm..." Annabelle voiced, trying to catch her breath from laughing so hard, "What's new?" Annabelle winked, sticking her tongue out. She's always had a slightly playful attitude around her friends, especially Sebastian. Most of the time, he tolerated her mischief. Had it been anyone else, they would probably be rather annoyed.

"No kidding seaweed in the mouth is nasty," Annabelle replied, scrunching up her nose, remembering what had happened earlier, "I got a mouthful of sandy seaweed earlier, while I was sitting atop my seahorse." She shook her head violently, trying to forget the fishy taste of the salty seaweed.

Sebby looked over at her, slightly confused. "A sea horse, where did you get a sea horse from?" Although knowing her, sea horse could mean anything. This girl was literally the weirdest. His phone vibrated in his pocket, and when he checked who it was, it was from the girl from earlier. He only gave a small smile, choosing not to respond as he put it away. "That has to actually be one of the weirdest thing you've ever said." He added, shaking his head in the process. And this girl has said some pretty weird things, so if he says this is one of the weirdest, he meant it.

♡Annabelle Natalia Moreau♡
"Huh? Oh--" Nat grinned wickedly, a sinister smile creeping into her face. Thinking back on it, it was pretty amusing to watch Gabe wiggling around below her. He actually reminded her more of a fish on land, thrashing around like that, but she thought a pet sea horse to be more majestic.

"The weirdest?" Nat pondered, chuckling. She had said quite a bit off odd things in her day, so for this to be the weirdest, Seb must've really thought she had gone crazy.

"Oh, well I was sitting on Gabe earlier, and I thought it would be nice if I owned a seahorse. Therefore, I decided to let Gabe have the honor of being my seahorse," Nat explained, as it were the simplest thing in the world.

Seeing Seb check his phone, a small smile crept onto his lips, though he quickly set it back down. Wiggling her eyebrows, Nat looked at Seb, her interest perked. "Who was that?" Nat asked curiously, reaching for his phone with an amused smile.

"Daaaaaawh," Nat crooned, "don't tell me wittle Seb got a girlfriend? All grown up now?" Nat teased, merely reading a simple 'hello' text on his screen."Oh, well I was sitting on Gabe earlier, and I thought it would be nice if I owned a seahorse. Therefore, I decided to let Gabe have the honor of being my seahorse," Nat explained, as it were the simplest thing in the world. Sebastian shook his head. "Pfft, what no!" He looked at her as if she's grown a second head. "I don't have a girlfriend, she's just a....friend." He wasn't lying, they weren't dating, but he definitely didn't think of her as a friend. "Look, it's not even that big of a deal anyway." He added, just for good measure. He reached for his phone, taking it back from her hands and replying. It was only 'hey', but knowing that Nat was watching him do it made it feel like he was confessing his love.

"And I've grown up long time ago, don't forget it." Sebby puffed up his chest, indicating his obvious muscles and toned body. There was no way anyone could mistake him for a little kid, he was a grown man.

Seeing Tom begin to nod, Eve carefully sat down next to him in the warm sand, staring out at the ocean. She glanced over to him, seeing his face even redder than before.

It's because of me... But why?

Eve was lost in thought for a moment, not realizing she was gazing at him for longer than she intended. Blinking rapidly, she came back into reality, blushing when Tom stole a quick glance at her. She refocused her attention back on the ocean, enjoying the feel of the wind blowing through her hair.

"You... Uh I mean your bathing suit...I mean...Pretty." Eve heard Tom mumble next to her, his voice shaking. She looked back at him with a surprised expression, which quickly turned into a happy one, smiling towards him.

"Thank you... That's very sweet." She murmured back, returning her gaze to the waves crashing on the beach just ahead. She was silent for a moment, trying to formulate her thoughts correctly. A particular thought popped into her mind, increasing her embarrassment and causing her to fiddle with the ends of her hair. Eve began nervously shuffling her feet in the yellow sand, staring down at them.

"T-Tom?" Eve whispered quietly, her tone beginning to falter. She looked back up at him with rosy cheeks.

"Can I ask you a question...?"

(Someone should totally pop in and interrupt this conversation, yeah? (8)))

"Hey--" Nat protested, trying to take ahold of Sebastian's phone, "I wasn't done snoopin--I mean, uh, looking." Nat managed a sheepish smile, lunging for the phone. Sprawling herself over Sebas's lap, she kicked her legs around. "Seeeebbbb," Nat whined, jutting out her lip. She looked towards him with the best puppy dog look she could come up with. "If you really have nothing to hide, you'll let me see your phone," she reasoned, resting her chin on her palms, propping herself upright with her elbows.

"Awh, wittle Seb got wittle muscles," Nat teased, aware that Seb was anything but little. He had long since grown up, and his toned body was proof of that. Still, Nat enjoyed seeing his reactions when she teased him, so she continued to do so.

Seeing how Seb wouldn't budge, she pushed her stomach off of his lap, and huffed in mock anger. She couldn't really be angry--not at Seb. Walking away dramatically, she headed towards Evie and Tom, sitting herself next to Evie.

"Hey Evie," she purred, resting her head on the girl's shoulder, "and Tom." Tapping the girl's shoulder, she leaned in and whispered, "so uh listen, sorry to break up your lover's quarrel," she joked, "but uh, I'm pretending to be mad at Seb, so if I could just stay here for a while, that would be great."

Tom was still berating himself over how much of an idiot he sounded like. He hadn't noticed her smile and so when she spoke he froze once more. Sweet? She thinks that was sweet? No, she's probably just being nice. Girl like her could have any guy she wanted. The nerd was still avoiding looking at her when she said his name. He spun to look at her, noticing she was blushing. Huh. That's odd. She got sunburned really fast. Yes, Tom would sooner believe a girl was sunburned than blushing at him.

When Tom heard the next part he nearly fell over. YES! You can ask me anything Evie! Anything! Tom opened his mouth to say anything when Annabelle sat down. His mouth snapped closed in an instant, turning back to look at the waves. His face was still red, his hands shaking some. He hugged his legs to his chest, resting his head to his knees. Annabelle noooooooooo! Why would you do this to me!? The thought of still talking to Eve while Anna was present never even crossed his mind. He was already nervous enough just talking to Eve, Anna made it impossible.

Tom wordlessly scooted away from Eve and Annabelle, still hugging his knees to his chest. He didn't know what to say so he said nothing, suddenly becoming very interested in the sand. He knew it would probably look like he didn't want to talk to Eve but he just couldn't help it. He sighed, defeated, and stared at the sand, wiggling his bare feet in it.

(YOU RUINED IT. HE WAS SO CLOSE NOOOOOO)

Oliver being bored and lonely, decided to set his sights on Tom and Eve. He wondered what was happening, Eve was blushing, and Tom looked like he was go to pass out. So he got up and made his way over to them, sitting next to Tom and away from the girls. He wrapped an arm around Toms shoulder and Gave him a reassuring squeeze. "You okay, man? You don't look like you feel too hot." Oliver's bad boy exterior was really dwindling around all of these people, he cares and always has. He's just never really been one to show that he does too much.

"I-"

Eve began, blushing pretty hard now. Before she could even say the sentence out loud, someone plopped themselves down next to her, startling poor Eve immensely. She jolted, letting out a little squeak before realizing it was only Annie. Her heart raced a million miles a second, and Eve sucked in a deep breath to regain herself.

"Annie, you scared me." She whispered breathlessly, closing her eyes. Eve reopened them to find Tom scooting away from them, staring at the sand. Her gaze grew sad immediately. It seemed her chance to express herself had been ruined. Eve's face brightened in color upon hearing the words 'lover's quarrel', realizing Annie was talking about her and Tom. All she could do was nod slowly, managing a small smile, although it was a bit forced.

"Mad at Seb? Why?" Eve arched an eyebrow curiously towards Annie, trying to distract herself. Even Ollie eventually came over, wrapping an arm around Tom, trying to reassure him. Eve bit her lip slightly, staring back down at the sand again.

For what felt like the hundredth time that day Tom jumped from surprise. When he noticed who's arm it was he became even more upset, staring a hole through the sand. No I'm not okay! How could I be okay when you're over there groping the girl of my dreams!? You're lucky you're bigger than me or I'd...I'd...Well I'd do something! "Yeah...I'm fine. Thanks Oliver. Think the sun is just messing with my head." Tom pulled his head up, offering his friend a fake smile. The smile quickly faded from his face before he once again rest his chin on his knees.

Tom's eyes stared intently at nothing, a sigh escaping his lips. He tried to think of anything else but every time his mind wandered it went back to Oliver rubbing sunscreen into Eve's bare back. The nerd clawed his nails into his leg in an attempt to remain calm. He suddenly pulled the zipper on his hoodie down, shrugging it off his shoulders. Thomas was so upset, he didn't even care that everyone would notice how pale and scrawny he was. "I'm gonna go for a swim."

Tom gently grabbed Oliver's arm, pulling it off him. He just needed to get away from both of them right now. He was confused and there was only one person that could fix it. He shrugged and grinned, taking off in a sprint towards the water. Ales always knew how to make him feel better and he made a beeline for her. He shivered when he felt the cold water against him. He grinned and called out to his best friend. "Ales! You and me versus Audrey and Lucas in a chicken fight!"

@ThePumpkinQueen @Ecstasyia

Lucas, still playing with Audrey in the ocean, turned his head when he heard Tom call his name. He spotted him stand up from the sand where Oliver, Eve, and Anna were all conversing, and he noticed the frown on Tom's face. Lucas wondered what had made him so upset, as the boy usually had a smile on his face. "You're on!" he called to him, making his way through the water and towards the shore. "Audrey and I are gonna kick your guys' ass," he smirked. When he finally got close enough to Tom, he lowered his voice so that only he could hear him. "Everything alright, man?" he asked, concern in his hazel green eyes.

Ales looked up, her eyes wide. She had no idea how those types of people actually got on each other's shoulders, nor did she like the idea of touching him in general. Lucas swam over to Tom and began whispering to him. So, she took her precious time to try and figure out exactly how she was supposed to get onto his shoulders without killing someone.

Gabe coughed a bit once Annabell got off him. He would get her back later. Instead, he noticed Ales was nearby. He swam over to her. "Hey Ales," he said, smiling, "can you believe what Annabell just did? I mean, I am not a dolphin. You can't ride a dolphin!" He playful gave her a little splash.

Ales looked up and smiled nervously. She grabbed his arm and dragged him closer. She whispered to him, her lips brushing his ear, "Gabriel, can we talk? It's not a really big deal but I need to ask you about something." She said his full name as a sort of warning to let him know she wasn't kidding.

Tom looked up at him and gave him a smile, telling him he was okay. But shortly after he quickly ran into the water. "Wait.. is he avoiding me? What did I do?" Oliver thought as he laid down in the sand, "I've never done anything wrong to Tom and he's running away from me like I'm a girl." Oliver sighed, and placed his hands behind his head. He was annoyed, and very upset. "All I've done is make people upset since I've been here.. Maybe that's why mom and dad didn't care about me, maybe I just upset them." He quickly waved those thoughts away and sat back up. Debating on whether he should just go back into the house or not. (Poor baby Oliver has a soft side)

Tom shrugged up at Lucas when he asked him if he was alright. "Yeah I'm fine. Thanks Lucas. Hey! You played any good games lately?" Thomas brightened up at the subject, glad that he had a chance to talk to his good friend. He noticed Ales talking to Gabe out of the corner of his eye, raising an eyebrow. She better not be planning to chicken fight with him instead. It was my idea! The nerd waded in the water for a moment, blurting a question out to Lucas before he could even answer his other question. "Hey Lucas? How do you tell if a girl likes you?" When Tom had asked this question he was glancing at Ales, still wondering what she was doing talking to Gabe.

Gabriel didn't realize that Ales was being serious. He blushed when he felt her lips brush by his ear. He nodded. "Sure, what's up?" He asked her. He smiled at her reassuringly.
