Fantasy Knights Of The Round Table | OOC

Fate/Apocrypha. The Fate series are ALL about ancient heroes. The Fate series tells the tale of magi (mages, basically,) fighting each other in the Holy Grail War, a quest to obtain the Holy Grail; an ancient, omnipotent device that can grant any wish of the winner of the Holy Grail War. To do this, these 7 chosen magi summon 7 Servants; Heroic Spirits, or as they call them: "Heroes of legends past."

In other words, imagine King Arthur duking it out with Heracles and Medusa. This is King Arthur by the way. The anime has a thing for genderbending characters.

Oh, and the 7 Heroic Spirits are all put into different classes. Each Class has 1-2 unique abilities called Class Skills, although the Heroic Spirits can have Personal Skills too, (ie: Lancelot has increased luck due to protection from the fairies.) Each Heroic Spirit also has 1 or more Noble Phantasms, special trump cards related to their legends. An example would be King Arthur's Excalibur. The classes go as follows:
  1. Saber: Heroic Spirit of the Sword; great melee combatants, especially at close range. Specialists with powerful legends and the ability to resist magic and ride any vehicle, including modern ones. Example: King Arthur.
  2. Archer: Heroic Spirit of the Bow; great ranged combatants, especially at long range. Great for support or dealing with Saber-class Servants from a safe distance. They too can resist magic and can act somewhat independently from a Master due to a lower mana cost. They often have powerful Noble Phantasms. Example: Robin Hood.
  3. Lancer: Heroic Spirit of the Spear; masterful fighters that specialize in long-range melee combat. Very agile and deadly against other Classes, but a Saber can often handle them well. On another hand, their agility makes them better against Archers. They can also resist magic, but they tend to have bad luck. Example: Cu Chulainn
  4. Rider: Heroic Spirit of the Steed; Servants renowned for having a powerful creature as their steed in life. Come packed with a Riding skill that is often of superior quality even to that of the Saber class. They also pack a good punch with their Noble Phantasms. Example: Alexander the Great
  5. Caster: Heroic Spirit of Spells & Sorcery; Servants that specialize in casting spells and doing magic. They tend to be a bit squishier than other Servants but they make up for it with their ability to create powerful items, cast spells, and select a territory for mana gathering. Example: Merlin
  6. Assassin: Heroic Spirit of Stealth & Assassination; Servants who specialize in covert operations and overcoming disadvantages with intrigue and skill. They are physically the weakest of the Classes, but their skill lets them remain undetected to magical means of detection, even that of the other Servants. Example: Jack the Ripper
  7. Berserker: Heroic Spirit of Madness; Servants whose sanity evaporated in life, often in exchange for power. They wield the ability to enter a berserk state in which their parameters grow immensely but they pay for it with their ability to think. Example: (believe it or not) Sir Lancelot & Heracles
And here's King Arthur flicking Excalibur. This is why Masters summon Servants instead of fighting themselves. Magic is strong, but not as strong as raw OP.

Sure is difficult to quickly sum up the Fate series. XD

Oh man, a lot happened. Is Lancelot old enough to have a grown up son? Cuz I was just reading a bunch of Wikipedia articles on the stories to base my character, Sir Galahad, off of. If you guys think my character should be younger or even unrelated to Lancelot just let me know, cuz I'm starting to get the feel that this rp will stray very far from the original lore, which I like :)

Well, the whole point of it is to have it stray from the original lore a little bit, I never intended on following it completely. If Merlin is going to be a bit older, I think it would be okay for Lancelot to have a son. If I were you, I would go ask the person playing Lancelot.

@ Everyone
I apologize for the slow moving nature of things... Its been hectic.

I will begin to write up a plot, and I will have everything finalised by the end of the weekend. If there is any ideas you have that you want to share, do so now or forever hold your peace.

I have lots of ideas:

We should fight dragons! Lots of dragons! [Nod, nod!] And Scottish Necromancers. Also, let's conquer France! Also, let's do lots of conquering! Conquer! Command! Conquer!
