Fantasy Knights Of The Round Table | OOC

_WastedYouth

Wild Young Soul
Knights Of The Round Table!
Hello everybody! Me again... I tried to be fancy...
I have summoned you all here for an epic adventure and a challenging quest.
Here, we can do all our planning and everything else that comes with once the planning is done.
I will keep this thread updated daily with the ideas of others.
Also, if you are not listed in the spoiler, please don't post on this thread.
You can find the recruitment thread here: Calling All Knights Of The Round Table!
At this point, I probably will only take 1 or 2 more people.

The Plot

Firstly, this tale begins before Arthur became king. He has Merlin, a powerful magician by his side, and they have gathered a select few from the destined Knights Of The Round Table to join him on his quest for Excalibur and The Holy Grail.

I am thinking that the beginning of the plot can start in Camelot. Since I am following the TV series, Merlin for most of my research, I find Camelot a suitable start.

The main point of this thread is for everybody to have a say in the story line, and for everyone to discuss characters and relationships with others.

This is a brief list of the types of characters we will need:

Mains

King Arthur

Merlin - Played by Birdsie

Morgen La Fay - Played by _WastedYouth

At some point we will need Guinevere

Knights

Sir Lancelot - Played by Garuda

Sir Gawain - Played by Safety Hammer

Sir Galahad - Played by Shabazz

Bad Guys

Mordred - Played by Lancelot

If anybody wants to, they can have civilian secondary characters, later on.

If everyone agrees on it, we will also be needing a beast master(I'll give more of this idea out later on, when the plots starts piecing itself together.)

I will probably come up with some mythical creatures for potential battle.

The story so far

Magical weapons are a thing.
Arthur does not currently have Excalibur or any of his magic weapons.

Thhhaaats it.

I think I would want Lancelot or one of the good Knights

Will knights have supernatural abilities and magic swords of they choose?

Hm. I wouldn't bet on them having magic swords, because of the fact that I selfishly want Arthur to have the only magic sword..
However, the abilities is a different thing. I was thinking that every knight could have one major ability that could prove to be useful to Arthur in their journey.

Edit: I will note that you will have sir lancelot. :3

I also made a new template for the first post.. is it good?

I get that Excalibur would be the most magical, out of all the swords due to the nature of it. But what about Others swords like Arondight and Galatine.

I just don't want everyone thinking their OP because they have a magical sword, to be completely honest with you. BUUUTT, that is just my experience with previous roleplayers, I am not to sure about this website.
However, I see the value in some of the knights having magical swords/weapons as well. That being said, it would be okay for others to carry magical weapons as well.

In a land where everyone uses magic weapons, the one with the anti magic weapon rules. Would be ironic if Excalibur is an anti magic weapon with an Omni slaying attribute. So it's basically the bane of everything, good idea for Mordred at the same time.

This is very true! Hm. I forgot about Mordred. Gonna add his character up to the list.

Also, I like the idea of Excalibur being Anti-magic. However, I am not a fan of Mordred having the weapon. I would like the story to stick somewhat true that only the destined king can pull Excalibur from the stone.

There's also something that I've thought of, perhaps Excalibur is an ordinary weapon without a gemstone that gives it its anti-magic properties, and that gemstone was broken ages ago, and Mordred is after all the pieces, and he already has one... That being said, he can use those anti-magic properties if he gets the gemstone infused into his weapon.

Just something I was thinking about to make this more interesting.

To be fair, every major character in Arthurian mythology except for Galahad can be attributed to some kind of magical sword/weapon of mystical value. I might be wrong though, and Galahad may have a magical sword too.

Arthur: Caliburn and Excalibur
Merlin: Caliburn?
Lancelot: Arondight
Mordred: Clarent
Gawain: Galatine
Percival: Durandal
Tristan: Courtain

Actually, Arthur had a fuckton of magical weapons. The Clarent originally belonged to him, he also had Carnwennan; a magical dagger that shrouds the holder in shadow, he had a ship called Prydwen that is sometimes associated with mystical power, and he had Rhongomynyad, yet another, mystical spear. He had a lot of mystical bullshit apparently. My guess is that Merlin built a lot of these weapons for him and that Excalibur is special because it comes from the Lake and stuff.

Point made. Magical weapons it is. I am not extremely well versed in Arthurian history, so this is a good lesson for me to understand it deeper.

Adding to that, later on you could probably take on another role, but at the beginning i just want everyone to stick to one character.

Aww. Also, we going on the story with one lady of the lake, or many? Because if we do the single theory, I can't use Balin, since he decapitates a lady if the lake. And he also delivers the dolorous stroke.

You know, I am going to have to do a lot of research for this... Haha. I haven't exactly decided if we will do the Lady of the Lake. I would prefer to do that one, since it gives the story a more specific direction at the beginning.
