Clay took a deep breath and nodded some "She is uh....they let her stay for a bit if you would like to see her.." he whispered wiping his eyes

Max nodded happily and kissed him gently before letting him go "I'll talk with you soon." She murmured happily before he left

She frowned and just swallowed back tears nodding and trying to get up. “Let me see her. I just wanna hold her. Just one time.” She whimpered.

Jon headed hike that night, texting her soon as he got through his front door and went to go to bed, a little disappointed that he wouldn’t be able to see her til he got back now.

Clay gave a heavy sigh but nodded going to the corner of the room picking up the small bundle before handing her to Carmen "She is beautiful." He whispered letting more tears fall

The next few days went by quick after that amd she was soon at her appointment. She had her earbuds in smiling as she looked at her phone seeing Jon "Hey, they're going to call me back soon. Are you excited?"

She frowned and held onto her, leaning up against Clay while they sat there, not saying a word and just watching her, “Have you held her yet? Do you want to?” She asked him quietly after a lot of silence, “Our Serafina.” She mumbled, shaking her head after a while. “I can’t... I can’t do this.”

Jon smiled tiredly, laying in the hotel room after a long morning of interviews, just watching her and smiling. “I’m ready babe.” He smiled some. “Yell at me if I fall asleep.” He smiled, just wanting to be there and hold her and feel his baby kick. The paternity test has come back positive that it was his kid and he was getting excited now.

Clay took a deep breath shaking his head some "No I...I already help her." He whispered before gently taking Carmen in his arms "I'm so sorry my love." He whispered crying softly

Max laughed lightly and nodded happily "Will do handsome." She said softly before she got up once they called her name.

He yawned a little and smiled as he watched her explain that he couldn’t be there but he wanted to be so they had him on FaceTime, thanking the tech when they agreed to it.

Carmen frowned making him put her back in her cot and she pressed the call button, holding onto him once he was sat down again with her, “I feel like I’m gonna be be sick.” She mi led frowning some e

Max smiled happily when they said he could stay on facetime and thanked them. She smiled wide turning her photo as they got her sonogram on the screen. She smiled widely whem they said it was a boy and cried quietly "Did you hear that Jon? A boy....we're having a son."

Clay frowned a bit and gave a small nod grabbing the trashcan for her "They said you might feel it when you woke up." He said quietly

She frowned as she leaned forward, holding her head a little and just letting everything wash over her for the next hour and a half as she started going in and out again, fully coming around after the kids had been picked up by clays mom. “Clay... what’s wrong with me?” She frowned feeling awful still.

Jon sat up a little as he listened and just smiled wide. “We are indeed... we’re having a little boy.” He smiled, tearing up a little and wiped his eyes. “Is there any way to get a digital copy of it that I could get?” He asked the tech.

Clay frowned softly as he watched her seeing that she was pale and sweating "I'm not sure my love, let me get a nurse." He murmured pressing the call button multiple times.

Max smiled happily and nodded some turning the camera to face her "Yes I'll make sure to get you one." She said happily before turning her attention to the doctor

Jon nodded some. “Honey I gotta let you go, I’m falling asleep here. I’ll call you tonight though I promise.” He smiled, trying to stop a yawn.

Carmen frowned, relaxing under his touch though w d watched him exhausted, trying to keep gripping his hand as much as possible until he doctor finally came in to talk to them, getting them to give her a couple things to help with the fever but also any pain she was in. ‘So I have good news but I also have bad news.’ He told them.

Max smiled softly and nodded happily "Okay babe,I'll talk with you later." She said softly before hanging up and finishing her appointment.

Clay frowned as he continued to hold her close worried sick about her. He sighed softly and kissed her cheek gently as the doctor came in "What is it doc?"

The tech smiled at her as she got her details sorted. “Everything is looking healthy and normal as well.... you have a good one there. A lot of partners don’t even care to come in when they’re near.” She told her.

Carmen frowned some watching him “Good news is we know what happened and why your body rejected the baby... bad news ... the ultrasounds from this morning picked up a lot of abormalities and on top of that the blood tests have come back... we need to take you in for a quick biopsy but, it is highly likely that it’s because you have cancer.” He explained to them both.

Max smiled happily and nodded some "Yeah I did get a good one huh?" She said happily before going to sign on holding the picture they had printed for her close sighing happily. She got in her car and quickly drove home to get some editing done for her next project.

Clay listened to the doctor and felt his heart drop into his stomach when he said cancer "Cancer? No....this has got to be some kind of mistake.." he said quietly before turning to look at Carmen letting a few tears fall.

She frowned and just held his hand. “When do I have the biopsy and then after that when will I know?” She asked him, just nodding when he said tomorrow and then they would get the results three days after that, just nodding and turning to face Clay, her face completely blank as she leaned back and held onto him a little.

Jon ended up working non stop until he finally got to go back to California a couple months later, only able to speak to her and FaceTime her in the late evenings but he would take what he could get until he finally stepped through baggage claim at the airport and walked out to arrivals, smiling when he saw her in the crowd.

Clay took a deep breath holding her close to him shaking some "Cancer? How....why....why is the universe doing this to us?" He whispered more to himself than anything

Max stood waiting for Jon at the airport smiling widely as she caught a glimpse of him gettimg his luggage. These past few months had been a struggle with only face timing but she knew now that she was head over heels for him and she couldn't wait to have their child. She ran over as quickly as she could when he came out and hugged him tight "Hey handsome!"

Carmen frowned, not saying a word and just stared at the walls, not speaking at all for a couple hours, eventually falling asleep for a nap, still trying to get the news through her head.

Jon smiled wide and kissed her softly, "Mmm... Hey you, look at this, my little man is getting so big." He grinned, "You wanna go get food? I'm starving, I didn't eat on the flight." He muttered, having slept the whole way he finally had energy and he was hungry. Plus he wanted to get all the baby updates he could.

Clay refused toeave her the entire time. The only time he stepped out was when his mother called because the kids wanted to talk with him. He sighed heavily as he got out of the bathroom to find Carmen awake again "Hey....how are you feeling?"

Max smiled happily at him and nodded as she held his free hand "Yes! He says no asian though....Aunt Lily had to clean up after he kicked it out of my stomach." She murmured giving a small grimance before looking at him "I'm so happy you're home."

She frowned and reached for him. “Hey... like shit.” She muttered frowning. “I feel like this past year has just been.... problem after problem.” She mumbled, cuddling into him. “Your mom got the kids?” She asked him quietly. “Tell her love you from me. And thank you for being here.” She mumbled. “I’m really hungry.” She frowned.

Jon smiled. “I was thinking more like a Chillis or something. Or.... or there’s an In n Out on the way back to my place.” He grinned. He’d got her to agree to staying with him for a couple days just cause he hadn’t seen her in so long so they would be driving back to his anyway.

Clay gave a heavy sigh and nodded softly as he sat with her "I made sure to tell them when they called." He said quietly taking her hand in his "I'll call the doctor, see what you can eat." He murmured

Max smiled happily and nodded a bit "Mmm In N Out sounds great." She said sweetly before kissing his cheek gently. She was excited to spend these next few days with him playing family for the time being. She couldn't wait to tell him everything about the baby as well.

She frowned shaking her head. “Not yet.... don’t move.” She mumbled, resting her head against his shoulder and holding him tightly. “I’m worried about if this is bad.” She mumbled.

Jon smiled, taking the keys from her so he could drive them, one hand on her bump most of the time. “So I start filming for the next season when he’s gonna be about three months..... I’ve been thinking about it.... and if it’s possible and if you would be happy to... I’d like you both to come to Georgia with me.” He told her.

Clay kissed the top of her head and sighed softly "We'll figure all of this out, no matter what." He said quietly before he wrapped his arms around her giving a heavy sigh as his mind races over every little thing.

Max smiled at him a bit shocked that he would ask her to go to Georgia with him but she was definitely happy. She gave a nod and squeezed the hand that was on her bump "I would love to go with you. If the doctor's say it'll be okay then I think I can make arrangements with my job." She said happily

She frowned shaking her head, "What if it's really far gone? Like... Too far gone?" She asked him quietly, holding onto him tightly "Jesus Clay, the twins are only 7... Guilia is gonna be graduating next year.... We have four kids... You can't raise four kids on your own." She frowned, sniffling a little.

Jon smiled and glanced over at her, "Good... That would be really good." He smiled. "Look... I know it seems like we're taking things fast but... If it feels right then it's right." He told her "And I don't know about you.... But you feel right to me." He told her

Clay frowned some and took a deep breath "If its what I have to do then I'll do it, but we aren't going to think about that right now okay? We're going to fight through this together." He assured her making her look at him as he said this.

Max smiled happily and blushed a light pink color "I understand completely, you feel right to me too." She said sweetly before kissing his hand gently "We need to think of names for him." She said softly before rubbing her bump "I was thinking of maybe Matthew?"

She just nodded and frowned resting up against him and frowned, holding his hands tightly. “I love you.” She murmured and held onto him.

Jon smiled and nodded. “I like Matthew.... any last minute back up for if they were wrong and it’s a girl?” He asked her quietly.

Max smiled more and nodded "I always loved the name Iris." She said softly before turning to look at him
