A smile crept onto Zach's face at Daniel's words. "It's fine... I mean I get where you're coming from." Zach walked faster until he was next to Daniel. At the next question he shook his head. "I hate it.. I wish my parents never found out. I only like the guitar." A frown settled onto his features, quickly replacing the smile.

Daniel glanced over at the boy, noticing how his smile had switched to a frown. "Hmm, well that sucks." He wasn't quite sure what to say since he didn't feel the same way. "Alright, let's talk about something else, you look a lot better when you smile."

Zach walked in silence for a little while before looking over at Daniel, his clear green eyes gleaming. "So what about you, hm..?" He wondered aloud. "You like to paint and draw and to art?" He grimaced as he realized "Arting" wasn't really a thing but oh well he was sure the other boy would catch his drift.

Daniel laughed at the last part of the question. "Oh yeah, I love to art," he said teasingly. "My mom was an artist so she painted every day and I always painted with her. I was thrilled when I was accepted to this school."

They had reached the forest now and the ground was less stable. Daniel stepped on roots, his arms outstretched beside him for balance.

Zach stuck his tongue out as the other poked fun of his English skills, or lack thereof. He smiled cheerily at Daniel. "Well that's nice.." He hadn't noticed the change in scenery and tripped over a branch. His arm flew out and he grabbed Daniel but only succeeded in knocking them both on the ground.

Daniel yelped in surprise as he fell, his hands shooting out in front of him to stop the fall. The two boy's legs were tangled together and Zach was half on top of Daniel. He laughed, trying to wiggle out from underneath his roommate.

"Good job, Zach." It would have sounded annoyed if he hadn't have been laughing. He didn't really mind being this close to Zach, but he was laying on his stomach and couldn't enjoy it all that much.

Zach rolled off of Daniel apologising profusely. "Oh geez! I'm so sorry.. I didn't hurt you right?" He stood a brushed himself before offering his hand to Daniel. His clumsiness was something he had never grown out of.

Daniel accepted his hand and stood up, maybe letting go of his hand a few seconds longer than normal. "I'm fine, don't worry. We were bound to fall as some time, at least I was there to break your fall."

Zach stopped himself just in time from frowning in disappointment when his hand was let go. e reached up and brushed the leaves out of his now extremely messy hair and smiled at Daniel. "I'm so glad you voluntarily used your body to break my fall." He said jokingly, laughing a bit.

((Ok so your GPA of 4.25 got me curious and according to my future university's website, I have a GPA of 4.0 and that makes me feel a lot smarter than I actually am and it makes me happy o3o... also, do you want to just like skip the romance build up or are you cool with a slow build up like we're doing now))

Daniel laughed and kept walking, twisting and turning and changing directions. It wasn't that big of a forest, but it was interesting enough.

"So when you came here, did you leave behind a girlfriend or anyone important?" Daniel was generally curious about Zach's life, but he also asked the question just to know how much of a chance he had.

((Niiiiccceee :D And Im fine with this unless you want to skip it))

Zach smiled triumphantly, happy he could make Daniel laugh. He followed closely behind and observed the trees as they passed. At the question, he simply shook his head. "Girlfriend? Nah... I'm gay." he explaining simply. "No boyfriend either."

Daniel nearly stopped mid step and a huge grin splayed across his face. "You said that pretty confidently," he started, looking over his shoulder. "For all you know I could be homophobic."

Zach shrugged a bit. He had always been open about his sexuality and had grown to accept the homophobes as ignorant people but still, he hated the brief flitting thought that Daniel might be one of those people. "Then I guess that'd be to bad." he said trying to sound as if he didn't care, but a small bit of desperation slipped into his voice. He didn't want Daniel to go away because of this.

Daniel stopped and looked at Zach, crossing his arms. He could tell that something was wrong so he stopped joking around. "Don't worry man, just teasing you. I'm gay too."

"Oh.." he said smiling brightly, perhaps a bit more excited than he should have been. He was relieved that Daniel was also gay, but also excited he may have a chance. "So how about you? Do you have a boyfriend or crush or anything?"

Daniel started walking again while he answered, "Pff, getting a boyfriend is my goal for this year." Already he could tell that something was going to happen between them, he just didn't know how long it would take for the relationship to develop. Hopefully it was soon.

Zach walked next to him and looked up at the darkening sky. "It's getting dark..." He said, although it was already obvious that it was. Although he was afraid of the dark, he also didn't want to go back to the school yet. It felt as if out here in these woods, it was a lot more likely for these sparks he was feeling to start a full fledged fire of emotions.. Of course in the best possible way.

Daniel looked around, only noticing now that everything was tinted dark blue. "Oh wow, you're right. It's even cooler to explore in the dark," he said, speeding up his step. "Come on."

Daniel walked faster and faster, eventually going into a jog. It was fun to skip and jump over the roots, stepping off rocks to go faster. Now he was running and he could hear Zach's footsteps behind him.

Zach ran behind him, laughing gleefully all the while. Sometimes he forgot how much he loved to run, the weightless power that would overcome his senses. Surprisingly, he managed to defy his clumsy nature and not fall flat on his face.

Although Zach was having so much fun, he still dreaded the fact it was getting dark but didn't quite knowhow to tell Daniel without sounding utterly ridiculous. He was always embarrassed by his childish fears.

"Woah, woah, woah," said Daniel, getting louder each time he said it. Daniel tried to back pedal, his arms wind milling at his sides. He hadn't even realized that they were fast approaching a gully and now he tumbled down the side of it and lay at the bottom, crumpled in an aching heap.

He was fairly sure his hands were bleeding from being scratched by twigs and other assortments of debris, and his head ached from smashing against one too many rocks.

Zach had noticed Daniel begin to freak out and skid to a stop. He watched as the other fell over the side and gasped loudly. Making his way carefully down the side of the gully, Zach shook his head in fear.

He knelt next to the heap that was Daniels body and gently touched his shoulder. "Daniel...?"

(Sorry really busy week)

Daniel groaned, and it slowly transformed into a laugh. He shifted around, pushing himself up with his hands. It wouldn't make a difference he brushed some of the dirt off his shirt but he did it anyways, his muscles aching while he did.

"I'm fine, don't worry. Just a small tumble, it was actually kinda fun." He laughed some more, looking down at his hands and picking at the broken skin.

Zach watched with a concerned look on his face he then leaned over and hugged Daniel gently, his touch light so he didn't hurt him. "You scared me.." He smiled a little and shook his head at the other. "I shouldn't have hugged you. Now we're both dirty." He laughed a little and climbed to his feet. "Are you sure you're ok? Can you walk?"

Daniel followed suit, standing up slowly. He was a bit surprised by the hug however he definitely didn't mind the contact. "Yeah, I might just need you to keep me steady." Daniel reached out and took Zach's hand, squeezing it when he took a step as though he need the support. In actuality he was fine, he could probably walk just fine. It was nice to hold his hand though.

Zach walked quietly next to Daniel, smiling to himself as he held his hand. "Do you want to go back?" he asked quietly. Surprisingly he didn't want to. He felt really close to Daniel and he felt that if they spent a little more time he'd work up enough confidence to make a move.
