Chapter One: The Ripple in the Water
chapter one: the beginning
With wide-eyed gazes, the children huddled closer together, listening intently to the story being told. They shared the warm, wool blanket as their heart raced against their chest, nervousness seeping in their small frame. The children hung onto every word Madam Griselda uttered from her lips despite hearing the story every October.

"And so. . . for 310 years a black cat guards the Sanderson cottage laying in wait for the witches to come back. . . to life! Ah!" Griselda roared, lurching forward, unsuspectedly throwing a ribbon towards a listener in the crowd. A small shriek was heard from the sudden scare before fits of giggles and laughter radiated throughout the park.

The elder woman couldn't help but laugh along with the children and the small crowd that surrounded them who listened to the old wives' tale. Not before long, the elder woman sat back on her wooden, rocking chair near the lamppost as she sighed softly, taking in the breezy, autumn evening.

"Bye, Madam Griselda!"
"See you tomorrow!"

The children's voices came left and right to thank the smiling elder woman as she waved them farewell. She watched as the children stood up from their spot and began playing around the park with each other or ran towards their parents.

Soon, the sun began to slowly set over the horizon and Salem came alive. Decorated string lights and hand-crafted artwork hung above Central Park crossing from one end to the other. Lanterns and floating candles were used for more lighting and lamppost were fashioned with garlands. On the other hand, the big autumn wreath was delicately placed on the fountain. However, the most important landmark in Salem was their big oak tree that stood at the end of Central Park. The big oak remained a place to sit under to enjoy the festivities where picnics and other leisure activities could be held.

Fall and Halloween-themed booths were stationed surrounding Central Park on the outside and will be there throughout October as Salem continued with their festivities. Although the booths weren't ready for visitors yet, the booths were embellished with different Halloween-themed ornaments, trinkets, and styles. One booth made their pumpkin patch for the town to pick-and-choose, having a big open space where wagons and hay were scattered around. Some pumpkins were carved with different designs such as ghosts and spiders while others resembled jack-o-lantern. Another booth held candies, black cat and creepy crawler plushies, and spider-webs while a few other booths managed to stick to other traditional themes such as bones, skeletal figures, and wicked aesthetics. But, as the month continues to progress, other booths would open up and there would be fun-filled games and contest to win for prizes!

As night fell, the small crowd slowly began to grow in size, scattering around Central Park as they waited for the announcement from the mayor. But, without further ado, the mayor appeared, standing upon the podium outside of Town Hall. Central Park was a great place to hold all of the festivities since it was in the middle of town and the Town Hall was due north of the park. Nevertheless, the mayor wasn't in his usual suit-and-tie, but rather, those around him, including his wife and children, were all dressed up in matching costumes!

Dressed in all black with only painted bones showing, the crowd's excitement grew as music blared through the speakers, making a grand entrance for the mayor. The mayor's face was painted as a skull and the crowd felt jitters in their bellies.

"Greetings, Salem! How are you doing? It's the start of another long-waited tradition! After a long year, it's time to relax, unwind, and give in to the scare! One of Salem's most famous event is now open! The Haunted Houses down Hell Avenue is ready for your guilty pleasures! That being said, our annual Haunted House contest will also start today and the winner of the contest will be announced the day after Halloween. Now, let's stop chatting and have a frightful time!"

Once the mayor finished his announcement, the music resumed and the booths opened. Loud cheer and claps echoed as children, teens, and adults alike made their way around to get more supplies at the booths or they headed towards Hell Avenue, south of Central Park.

Dark eyes stared back at her through the distorted reflection. Her brows furrowed in confusion, not recognizing the figure before her. As her lips parted slightly, her fingers traced the lines of her face as she tried to remember her facial features. She was a soul trapped in a body that was no longer hers. Her exterior still resembles a young girl, one that has never aged and never changed. But, despite having an appearance the Sandersons' would kill to have, on the other hand, for Clara, it haunts her. She's an outer shell of herself and as the days pass, her fears grow. Will her memories slowly fade? Will she wake up one day and not remember anything?

She's been alive for far too long and she's way past due to rest her soul. A bitter smile made way across her lips as she found it ironic that after all these years, those damn witches couldn't curse themselves to live forever. All she could do over the years was simply exist, waiting for the day she could get her revenge. Her legs shook as she gripped the sink to support her weight. With a small hiss, Clara abruptly splashed the water in the sink letting out a small yowl of frustration. Clara wobbled slightly as she stood up straight, trying to balance herself while she used the walls to help her navigate out the bathroom.

The abandoned house she managed to make a small home in was good enough. Running water was all she needed and the dilapidated structure of the house wasnโ€™t falling yet. It was rare for her to be seen in the house but she was grateful for the space in October. If there was anything good about being a cat was that she wasnโ€™t picky with where she slept. Her territory was her own and she needed to survive. Many complain about going hungry but Clara always wondered if people would know how it feels to be hungry but could never die. The pain is unbearable.

Soon, Clara made her way out of the house. But, out of reflex, Clara scanned her surroundings before heading towards Central Park. It never ceased to amaze her how beautiful the changing of the falling leaves was. Perhaps dead things could be beautiful. It was an odd thought. As the crunch of the leaves continued while she walked, Clara enjoyed the small breeze despite the wind causing her hair to flow in front of her face. Regardless, a small smile made way towards her lips.

Catching the tail-end of the story, Clara narrowed her eyes as she heard the shrieking of children and everyone in the park laughing. Clara reigned in her anger as she took note of the disbelief in the locals. They were foolish. She couldn't help but feel an itch in the pit of her stomach, wanting to storm over towards them to say that the legends are true.

Regardless, Clara refocused her attention towards her surroundings as she calmed herself down. Deciding to stick to herself and take her time, Clara looked around the park, immersing herself in the festivities. When night fell, Clara couldn't help but feel comforted, feeling less vulnerable as she blended in with the crowd. Leaning against the big oak tree, for both comfort and security, Clara closed her eyes for a moment, listening to the mayor's voice.

If just for a moment, the world stopped, she wondered if that's how her father's voice would have sound. For a brief second, she allowed herself to remember the past, recalling the bedtime stories she and her little sister listened to about haunted places. It was odd to her that in this century people wanted to pay others to scare them. However, that notion only reminded her more and more of her little sisters' antics, going against the grain.

As the mayor finished his announcement, the crowd slowly dispersed. Some of the locals hovered by the variety of booths surrounding Central Park and Town Hall while others went to the haunted houses. Clara, on the other hand, stayed in her spot underneath the oak tree. Her eyes gazed up at the string lights as it reflected through her glittering and sparkling eyes.

What adventures lie tonight?

Cassius 'Cas' Corden had returned to the sleepy town of Salem just yesterday, in time for the fall festival that always seemed oddly important to the town. While others had parades, gatherings and other such functions, the people of Salem put a gusto into Halloween that Cas had yet to experience at his dorm. Before he left, he knew there were a few parties that the other Uni kids were going to attend as well as some that wanted to dress up and go trick or treating as if they were young again, but instead of doing either, he was back in Salem, back home. How many of the old gang was even still around? How many had left like him? Cas was a little ashamed that he hadn't bothered to try and stay in touch, moving away and leaving them all behind in the past just seemed normal, after all, awkward forced reunions was more of a 'Highschool Reunion' thing not a, 'Hey, its been awhile, yea, my grandfather passed away so I'm back for a few weeks... Sorry about the whole not calling thing but I had other things and while I cannot think of those other things, please know they were super, duper, important just like our relationship?'

The breeze the rolled through town, the orange glow of the setting sun, it was all so familiar. Despite coming back and after he had left it all behind, it was like he had stepped into a picture. Just poof, and he was back. It was incredibly disconcerting and he had sneaking suspicions that most of the old gang had hung around because if nothing had changed, why would they have? Would Tessa still be playing around in the forest at night looking for ghost and ghoulies? Was Lottie still around and with the herd of a family? What about Shaun? Cas let his eyes roam the crowd forming before the mayor for his yearly, 'I did not sleep with that woman, please, believe me, and like, happy festival that I put together again this year, vote for me because, come on, no one else ever runs!' speech that Cas was sure was as inspiring as it was every year, it helped that the speech was mostly the same, the mayor wasn't exactly a big fan of change which probably explained why Salem remained the same, ageless as if frozen and forgotten by the rest of the world, perhaps Tessa had some insane idea that it was secret witches out in their secret woods with secret rituals and secret frogs and secret magic and secret keeping-stuff-the-same magic.

Cas followed old habits and started to make his way across the park, his gaze locked up at the mayor as his hands moved as he spoke. Cas was far enough away that the breeze stole the words but he could imagine what he was saying, almost word for word as the repeated speech turned over in his mind that was until he bumped into something. It was soft, small and didn't put up much of a fight. Cas looked down to see a small woman staring up at him, from the ground where he had knocked her, and, yes, upon closer examination that was not a happy face staring up at him. The eyes that glared daggers at him were unusual. Hidden among the 'I'm about to claw off your face and scream at your mother' was a strange otherworldly allure, a gaze that you would try to avoid else be lost into them, set within a beautiful face framed by hair as dark as night. Who was she? She seemed familiar yet not. A face that danced on the edge of the mind, someone spotted once or twice but with a name you cannot place the face to. What was she doing in Salem? As the moments passed, Cas realized something.. he was still just standing over her. He had not offered a hand, he had not said sorry, he hadn't said shit and the chance to do so had passed about three or four moments ago, "Well, this is awkward," Cas said putting it to voice as he weighed his options. She didn't look pleased, he almost wanted to just keep walking and pretend nothing happened, but that would be weird and offering his hand to her would be super weird and she may try to rip it off, so when in doubt, "So... Some weather were having, amirite?"

Robert watched with an empty gaze where he stood near the back of the crowd, hands shoved deep into the pockets of his jacket, shoulders hunched in as if doing so would shrink him. The mayor was talking but he wasnโ€™t listening, his attention instead wandering around the park. It was colourful as always and with the falling autumn leaves scattering in the gentle breeze, the rustic charm of Salem was out in full force. He wondered what it would look like if the world only existed in shades of black and white just like in those old films. What colours would these then take on? Would there be more black or white? Heโ€™d probably be completely black, stained so darkly in the colour that his features would be unidentifiable, and he would be synonymous with darkness. Just another featureless shadow. Nothing.

โ€œYou know Halloween is my favourite holiday.โ€ His grandmotherโ€™s voice snapped him out of his thoughts and he smiled down at her where she sat in her wheelchair, listening as she continued, pure joy in her eyes. โ€œSalem has always had such beautiful traditions. Why I remember when I was a little girl running around and playing at these booths myself. Itโ€™s so exciting that I get to see you grow up doing the same thing.โ€

โ€œYes it is gran.โ€ Robert replied as she looked up at him and smiled. โ€œIt also comes in the month you were born. I still remember when you were just two weeks old, experiencing your first Halloween dressed in that adorable vampire costume! You were the most beautiful baby.โ€ In his heart, Robert disagreed, but he said nothing, simply nodding in agreement as the crowd started to disperse, signalling the end of the mayorโ€™s speech. โ€œIโ€™m going to go join the other ladies for some nice pumpkin spice tea so you go have fun with your friends.โ€

He didnโ€™t have many in the way of friends, just Shaun really, and he would rather not get involved in whatever adventure he might be planning tonight if possible, which meant he had to stick with his grandmother. โ€œItโ€™s fine gran. Iโ€™ll just wait around for when you finish and drive you home.โ€

โ€œYou donโ€™t need to babysit me Robbie,โ€ she responded, her voice taking on that chiding tone that told him she wasnโ€™t going to budge. โ€œGeraldine has agreed to be a darling dear. She and her husband Larry will drop me off after weโ€™re done. You just worry yourself about what kinds of mischief youโ€™ll be getting up to.โ€ Well that certainly wasnโ€™t going to work if he wanted to use gran as an excuse to refuse Shaun tonight.

โ€œIโ€™ve graduated remember? Most of the kids my age have left town for university.โ€

Helena swatted away Robertโ€™s feeble attempt at persuading her to change her mind. โ€œNonsense! Shaun is still around isnโ€™t he? Besides, everyone comes back to Salem for Halloween and Iโ€™m sure we have plenty of tourists your age. In fact,โ€ Helena craned her neck and squinted as she surveyed the crowd, โ€œlook! Thereโ€™s a pretty young thing standing by the big old tree and Iโ€™m quite sure thatโ€™s the Cordenโ€™s eldest nearby! Go hang out with them.โ€ Helena urged, giving Robert a gentle push in their direction as Geraldine appeared to whisk her away.

Left alone, Robert gave a defeated sigh. He really didnโ€™t want to socialise tonight, not with strangers or Cassius Corden. Heโ€™d seen Cassius a fair bit because of Tessa back when the incident hadnโ€™t yet happened, and she didnโ€™t look at him the way she did now. Needless to say, it was pretty apparent, at least to him, that Cassius didnโ€™t like him very much and he didnโ€™t blame him. His gaze shifted from Cassius to the young woman his grandmother had pointed out and Robert immediately paused. His brows furrowed as he studied her features from the distance. She looked familiar, very much so, he definitely recognised her from somewhere butโ€ฆ He made his way slowly through the crowd, so he could get a closer look. At once he recognised her. The Mysterious Miss October. She always seemed to show up during October and only October, had been for several years now. Heโ€™d never seen her around Salem in any other month, so heโ€™d come to assume that she was a Halloween loving tourist who came to Salem for its many spooky month traditions. Heโ€™d been tempted to talk to her a few times before and satisfy his curiosity, but heโ€™d always decided against it. It wasnโ€™t just to ascertain the exact reason why she seemed to come every October but also to know more about her. She just seemed to have this air about her that he felt was similar to his own, as if she had a shadow hanging overhead too. He didnโ€™t have anything to do now and gran would never let him hear the end of it if she found it he went home early, perhaps he ought to seize the opportunity today to talk to her. Then again he was far from a skilled conversationalist and would probably send her running for the hills with his attempt.

Robert turned to leave when from the corner of his eye, he saw Cassius back up right into the mystery lady, knocking her right on her back. By the time he was fully aware of what he was doing, Robert found himself in the same space them. Heโ€™d meant only to go close enough to see that she was okay and leave but his feet had carried him much further than that and now instead of being several meters away, the pair of them were just a few steps from where he stood. Not really knowing what to say and feeling uncomfortable with the unplanned proximity, he closed the distance between him and the mystery woman, he removed his hand from his jacket pocket, offering it to her with a quiet word of โ€œHere.โ€

"Come on, come on, come on!"

Lissa stood impatiently outside of her brother's room, arms crossed and eyes rolling on a consistent basis. She'd practically begged him to take her to this festival, because their parents wouldn't let her go alone. Despite the fact that she was already sixteen, they still viewed her as a child, and since they were in a new area he just had to go too. Fucking figures.

But then he'd refused to take her. She'd stomped around the house, slamming doors and throwing things around until their parents had basically told him he had no choice. Her tantrum stopped as soon as he agreed. Not that she was spoiled or anything, she just knew how to get her way, especially when it came to their parents.

Even though it wasn't technically Halloween yet, Lissa had no problem dressing up. Elia would have to deal. And it wasn't like she was clad in a rainbow tutu that screamed look at me (though that wasn't a bad idea). Instead, she'd found a black shorts bodysuit, and had pinned a cat tail to the back. She had a pair of ears on her head, and had used her cheap eyeliner to draw on some whiskers and a nose.

"ELIA!" Turning back to his door, Lissa raised her hand to pound on it. "Come on, we're gonna miss all the fun stuff!" Pouting, she stepped back to give him some space if he opened the door. "Don't make me go get mom or dad." Reaching up to fiddle with the bell on her neck, she pursed her lips.

"I should just go without you." She muttered, crossing her arms again with a huff. "If you're not out here in five seconds, I swear I'm leaving. And you can tell mom and dad how you lost me."

[/div][div class=body][div class=scroll]"can't we go with you, lottie? you just got back too and i wanna spend time with you! pleaaaaase?" paige whined, and lottie cast a glance at her younger sister's wide, pleading eyes. [div class=dialogue]"what if i'm not hitting up the haunted houses at all?"[/div] paige paused, then grimaced. "nevermind, let's go, del. i promise i'll spend loads of time with you tomorrow, lots!" lottie laughed as she bundled her thick waves into a high ponytail. delilah and paige promptly separated from her (with a very enthusiastic goodbye wave from the younger of the two), and lottie called out a "have fun and stay safe!" before heading in the other direction. true, she'd love to spend time with her darling younger siblings, but haunted houses weren't exactly her priority this year. charlotte had been back for the larger part of the week, though she'd spent her days at home trying to recover from jet lag. barely anyone knew she'd returned, and she figured it was about time she go about and check on them, and she knew exactly who to visit first.

lottie pushed the door open gently and entered the cafe, scanning the room for her target. she vaguely remembered him working this shift, and it seemed her memory had served her right this time. making her way over to the counter, she hopped into the queue right as the lady in front of her had finished ordering, watching him and waiting expectantly for him to notice her with a smile on her face. "hazelnut mocha with soy," he called out, before his gaze finally settled on her, and his eyes widened in pleasant surprise. "oh, you're back! what the hell?"

[div class=dialogue]"surprise!"[/div] lottie said, as she held up a peace sign. a wide grin adorned his lips as he slipped over the counter and enveloped her in a hug. "so much for prior notice! i missed you, kid." she gladly returned the hug, but squeezed him just that little bit tighter for the kid comment.

[div class=dialogue]"kid? you're barely 2 years older than me, bean."[/div] lottie released him, stepping back to give him a once-over before reaching up to mess with his hair playfully. [div class=dialogue]"that's more like it."[/div] man, dean really was a sight for sore eyes. she was happy to see him. she looked over at the counter. [div class=dialogue]"since when has it been allowed to just vault over the counter, huh? are you allowed to be on this side, even? i don't want you getting in trouble."[/div] his grin widened, and he let out a tiny chuckle as he glanced at the abandoned espresso machines.

"yeah, it's all goodโ โ€” i'm about to get off, anyways," he reassured, undoing the knots of his apron as he spoke. "how was your trip?"

her eyes lit up at his question, and she beamed at him. [div class=dialogue]โ€œit was so amazing! the scenery was gorgeous and the people were so interestingโ โ€” youโ€™d be surprised at how different our cultures are, and it was just such a... a fulfilling experience.โ€[/div] she gushed, [div class=dialogue]โ€œyou should totally come with for the next one, iโ€™m almost sure youโ€™ll love it. the foodโ€˜s really good. really, really good, dean."[/div] she paused, peeking over his shoulder at the clock. [div class=dialogue]"i could go on about it forever, but iโ€™d rather do that on our way to the festival...โ€[/div] lottie shot him a meaningful look and nodded her head towards the door. his ears perked up at the suggestion, and he turned to check on something before holding up a finger. "i'll be back in a sec!"

raising her eyebrows as she watched him slide back over the counter (was the little door obsolete?) and disappear into the back room. he reemerged a few moments later, and lottie smiled as he nodded towards the door too. "after you, ma'am." she let out a soft laugh as she walked over to the door, holding it open for him behind her as she slipped out of the cafe into the chilly outside air. [div class=dialogue]"we've probably already missed the mayor's addressโ โ€“ wait, i'm not stealing you from any halloween plans, am i?"[/div] lottie grinned at him cheekily as she continued, [div class=dialogue]"a date, maybe?"[/div]

Whether it was coincidental, fate, destiny, or happenstance, Clara mentally rolled her eyes as she sighed, blowing her hair out of her face. Hiding in plain sight didn't work anymore, not when others were growing seemingly aware of her presence looming against the big oak tree. Unfolding her arms, her eyes scanned the park as the twinkling lights danced across her irises as she tried to ignore the pointed fingers and soft chatter that involved her. Regardless, despite being the spectacle of some of the local's attention, Clara decided to not move, avoiding suspicion as she turned her attention to the oak tree. Furrowing her brows, Clara couldn't help but place a gentle palm against the tree, taking in its age. It was all-around beautiful, mesmerizing, but also ominous, a reminder that witches were once hung there, or rather suspected witches' life was taken far too soon. The oak tree was only a haunting reminder of Salem's dark past.

However, Salem wasn't home to her anymore and was a ghost of its past self. Clara couldn't remember a time where she relaxed without feeling as if she had to look over her shoulders. But, a voice in the air caused her to freeze in her spot. The small whisper grew louder in her ear, almost taunting in the wind as it caused the hair on her arms to stand up while she felt herself shudder involuntarily. Her eyes widened as she frantically looked around, trying to find the source of the murmur. With uneven breaths, her heart felt as if it would leap out from her chest any moment. The locals before her were now just various silhouettes as her vision caused their shapes to form into blobs of orbs. They all faded into the background one-by-one in an almost ghost-like manner.

Lost in thought and not paying attention to her surroundings, Clara was ill-prepared for what came against her next. Without any indication or realization, the Shifter felt the wind get knocked out of her as she yelped loudly. Clara's left leg lifted first before the force of the bump caused her other leg to slip from underneath her as she went "flying". Her eyes widen and before she could react, she braced for impact against the grass and with a loud thud, she fell ungracefully. With a loud hiss, Clara bit her tongue, hard. When the adrenaline rush wore down, the shock of the collision between her and the ground shot through her small frame. That's going to bruise!

Shaking her head slightly to let her vision adjust to the darkness, out of instinct, Clara's survival skills came into play as her eyes directly searched for the perpetrator that harmed her. Once she noticed the shoes in front of her, her eyes slowly trailed up towards the figure that towered over her. While Clara managed to somehow twist her body to where the impact was directly on her bum and back rather than face-forward, Clara felt the ache rising and falling like statics.

Regardless, Clara hissed, feeling her temper flaring. While she stared at the man, she never uttered a word, only feeling the anger rise in the pit of her stomach. As the anger boiled inside of her, Clara's fingers slowly scraped against the grass, though unconsciously, like a glitch, her fingernails were slightly switching, unnoticeably, between nails and claws as she balled her hand into a fist, taking some grass and dirt with her. However, her eyes, on the other hand, were harder to conceal as her dark, brown irises narrowed slightly, allowing a slight hint of yellow to emerge in them.

The impolite mannerism and the lopsided, goofy stare-down at her state from the man who knocked over her only grated her nerves even more. He wasn't going to help her up? Just stare? Clara felt vulnerable in this form and it was a nuisance. If she was a cat, she couldโ€™ve landed perfectly but she could feel was frazzled and annoyed. A small rumbling, incoherent noise came from her throat as she was ready to pounce on the male, ready to claw his eyes out for not looking to where he was going. But, she couldn't risk exposing her true "nature" and the supernatural to this unbelievable nincompoop.

"Well, this is awkward, so... Some weather we're having, amirite?"

At the first words, the male uttered, Clara couldn't believe what he said. With a raised brow, Clara scoffed, giving him an are you serious? look as her lips parted, shaking her head at the audacity of this local. Biting down a snappy response, Clara could only observe the male's features, committing his face to memory to give him his dues once she was able to slip away from Central Park and return to her more comfortable state: a cat. But, with her senses getting the better of her, Clara jumped, scooting over slightly when she realized another person came towards them.

โ€œHere.โ€

Blinking back a surprise, Clara looked towards at the hand in front of her in confusion, scanning it as she was not sure what to do. Canโ€™t you human for one night? Knitting her brows together, Clara was at a lost for words as she felt small once more. It was an odd feeling, being given help when she, for over the centuries, have tried to remain obtuse and independent. But, here she was, as a vulnerable human, getting knocked off her feet and receiving help from strangers she could only watch from afar. Scowling, Clara turned her attention back to the male that knocked her over.

"Watch where you're going." She started, the palm in front of her still in her view as she was still feeling peeved from the aftermath of the incident. Regardless, she continued to stare-down at the male, wanting to make him feel as uncomfortable as possible.

"Weather?" Her voice raised an octave higher.

Taking the dirt that she held in her palm, Clara threw it at the male, unexpectedly, releasing the pent up frustration before shaking her head. "Is that really what you want to ask, mister? Couldn't have asked something more interesting such as 'are you okay'?" She growled lowly, taunting him.

Once she was finished addressing him, clicking her tongue while she was at it, her attention went back towards the hand that was in front of her. Attempting to ignore the hand as she slowly stood up, not wanting to take the other male's hand, Clara was adamant about not being a damsel in distress. The male coming to "rescue" or "check" on her made her even more upset. However, as her luck would have it, she was having trouble getting up, feeling something ache in her side. Biting her lips, Clara growled once more realizing she'd have to "suck" it up and take his hand.

Extending her hand, Clara slowly reached for the assistant's palm, only gripping the side before hesitantly taking it as she got off the ground, balancing herself. "Thank you,โ€ Clara gazed upon the male, taking in his eye color in hers, "This ca-, girl," She quickly caught herself before continuing, "would have been able to help herself . . . " Clara tried to finish, only to trail off, not wanting to explain anything.

However, as Clara straightened herself, her bum still ached as she took in the pain. But, without wasting anymore time, Clara quickly removed her hand as if she'd been burned. But, the moment she had, Clara felt coldness seeping through her skin, missing the warmth from the palm for that brief moment. Regardless, Clara looked away from the assistant quickly and folded her arms, feeling the breeze in the air encompass her frame. "Five. . . five feet away. Space." She took a breath before eyeing her "helper". "You're too close."

Clara stepped to the side and back to give herself space between both males, feeling entrapped. She hated feeling as if she was enclosed in a small space especially since she felt stifled and immobile, not liking that she felt as if the two had one over her - one owed her a debt and another she owed a debt to. Clara hated being indebted to someone. But, as she took a moment to catch her breath, Clara couldn't help but noticed that the one who helped her was him. A chord struck a nerve in her. Would he recognize her? Did he still remember what happened at the Sanderson Cottage? However, Clara could only internally laugh at herself. She's human. Not a cat. There was no way he would recognize her. . . right? Suspicious.

Clearing her throat, Clara stood on one of the tree roots, getting a better view of the two males as she attempted to find a spot where she could seem taller. She could have walked between both of the males and went on her merry way, but, she didn't want to risk them following her or had a choice to. Instead, she decided to play along. "What are you two doing out here? Not heading to the Haunted Houses for a scare?" She questioned, genuinely curious why these two decided to stay behind.

[/div] [/div] [div class="tabsContent tabsContentText"][div class=TextBox][div class=Text]Halloween was around the corner and everyone is Salem could see it, but there was for sure no one as excited as Tessa, she loved Halloween with all her heart and couldn't' wait to go to all the booths and eat all the food they had to offer to her, but she knew she couldn't make it alone, she needed to find a friend that would follow her in this adventure.
Although she wasn't sure who that person could be, Cassius was the obvious pick he was like the only one that didn't get annoyed at Tessa's ideas and it has been a while since she saw him since he was in college, as she made her way around the park she noticed him Tessa was about to go towards him and say hello to her old friend, but as soon as she started going to that direction she decided not to go, not because she didn't want to be with Cassius he seemed busy with an unknown girl, so she would leave him to try to flirt with her but she wasn't sure if Cassius could flirt with someone, to begin with, since it was Cassius who was the girl, if he was lucky the girl would only roll her eyes and would call him childish.
But the main reason why she didn't go towards the place where the girl and Cassius where, was mostly because Robert was heading that way, she didn't feel comfortable around him after what happened in the museum, she was still hurt that he broke her trust even if she felt they were becoming close friends as odd as that sound, she even thought that Robert could be as close like Cassius was to her, but she was mistaken and since that day she tried to avoid him, not because he was a bad guy but because he took away what she loved the most.
As she made her way towards the festival, Tessa recognized someone she knew it was a while since she saw her, she really thought that Halloween brought everyone together just like Christmas, Tessa smiled to herself and rush towards her direction as she saw her enter Busy Bean Cafe, as she rushed inside and saw her Tessa couldn't hide her happiness and went to hug her "Lottie!" I haven't seen you in ages!" She said happily to the girl even if they weren't as close as she was with Cassius she was glad to see the girl again "Everyone is coming back for Halloween, which means this would be the best Halloween ever!" She said as she noticed Dean too "Am I interrupting something? Did I just became the third-wheel?"

[div class=textcontainer][div class=text]Elia had been laying on his bed, staring up at the ceiling for the better parts of an hour. He could hear Lissa demanding to go outside of his door but ignored her. She was the reason he was laying on his bed in the first place. After losing the argument to their parents about going to this stupid carnival, he collapsed onto his bed and hadn't left.

Why did he have to take her? He didn't know. He had asked, many times, but was never given a clear answer. She was sixteen and could handle and take care of herself quite well in his opinion. So there was little need for him to actually go. However, his parents thought there was a need for him to go. Clearly they thought his sister was still a child. Sure, she acted like one oftentimes, today include when she threw a huge temper tantrum.

When the pounding on the door increased, so did his headache. "If you don't stop pounding on my door this second I will dropkick you!" he shouted, actually meaning it. That's what brother's were for.

But he figured he actually had to go to this. So, with a sigh, Elia stood from his bed and made his way over to his closet, throwing on a pair of jeans, a t-shirt and a bomber jacket before throwing open his door, towering over his sister.

"Here I am," he stated the obvious. "Happy?" And then without waiting for an answer, he headed towards the stairs. If he was being forced to go, he was going now, or else he'd change his mind.

It wasn't that he hated festivals. One, he didn't want to go to one where he was forced to hangout and babysit his sister who was certainly capable of taking care of herself. And two, he would much rather have spent the majority of today sleeping. But that wasn't going to happen. So he might as well make the most of it.

[/div] [/div] [div class=name]dean flores[/div] [div class=textcontainer][div class=text] The Busy Bean Cafe was bustling more than usual that particular spooky evening, with the festivities inciting fall fever stronger than ever in the cheery residents of Salem. Dean had never been huge on Halloween growing up, not for any reason other than having only dressed up a handful of times in his life, but the town didn't leave much room for skepticism when even the mayor went as all-out as he did. Despite his love for community gatherings, the barista had gotten stuck working an evening shift that day and internally sulked for the majority of it, mourning the loss of his freedom while most of his friends were out enjoying the sweater weather in peace.

When Lottie's familiar face showed up across the counter, however, Dean found himself unable to stop smiling throughout their conversation, the return of his childhood friend bringing on a fresh wave of nostalgia as he passed off his duties to the new barista. He only worked at the cafe part time, and he was grateful for the fact that there was still plenty of time for the night to be made the most of. By the time the two of them left the cafe and exited outside, the festive mood had already returned to the young man who, despite his snug hoodie, shivered slightly from the chilly air settling into his bones.

"Mm, that's cute," Dean joked in response to Lottie's suggestive question. "We both know I got nothing like that planned, though a couple girls from the high school did take my picture earlier." He chuckled uncomfortably, though he knew it was ultimately harmless. "Kids these days, with their lack of subtlety. Reminded me a bit of your sister, honestly---oh, hey, Tessa. Nice to see you, too." Despite his teasing words, Dean gave Tessa the same warm smile that he had given Lottie earlier. They weren't too close given the age gap, but he knew the younger girl was a sweet one and didn't mind spending time with her.

[/div][div class=body][div class=scroll]lottie raised an eyebrow as dean talked about the high school girls, catching on the very slight bit of discomfort in his voice. [div class=dialogue]"you should tell your manager if it makes you uneasy. you've always been popular with girls around that age, anyways."[/div] lottie rolled her eyes at his mention of paige, thinking about her borderline obsession with poor dean. she'd always begged her to invite him over because, quote, "dean was the hottest thing she'd ever laid her eyes on, and seeing him let her sleep better at night". [div class=dialogue]"speaking of paige, you should come see her. i'm sure she misses you and your 'piercing, beautiful jawline'."[/div]

"lottie!" lottie turned, and her face lit up as she spotted miss pembrook barrelling towards her, engulfing her in a hug. [div class=dialogue]"aw, tess! it's good to see you too."[/div] she'd been hoping to spot tessa somewhere around the festival, but it seemed the other girl had found her way over first. lottie'd found herself missing the girl's eccentricity, especially while touring those old french castles, and she was delighted to find that tessa hadn't changed one bit; she was still bright as ever. lottie gave her a bemused smile at her question, shaking her head. [div class=dialogue]"no, never! we were just heading to the festival, you should join us."[/div]

glancing at the direction where tessa had come from, lottie crinkled her eyebrows together as she realised she'd come from the town square. it seemed so unlike her to not be immediately partaking in the activities. had something happened? [div class=dialogue]"but, aren't you usually going through the haunted houses or roaming the stalls by now? i swear last year i could barely keep up with you."[/div] she resumed her slow stroll towards the park, waiting for the others to fall into step with her. The mysterious miss October was fierce, very fierce. She might as well have drawn a gun on Cas the way she was tearing him apart with her words. He was half prepared for her to tear one into him as well the way she was going at Cas or knock away his hand, but she ended up taking it. The reluctance was apparent in the way she tried to keep all contact and reliance minimal. Another thing to add to his mental notes, Miss October wasnโ€™t a fan of strangers.

โ€œThank you, this ca-, girl, would have been able to help herselfโ€ฆโ€ Robert blinked. โ€˜Caโ€™? What did she almost say? Where she was from? California? Carolina? Canada? He gave himself a mental shake. That wasnโ€™t important now. He wouldnโ€™t be able to figure out what she almost said unless he asked, and it wasnโ€™t going to do him any favours to potentially come across as a creep.

It would have hurt when she pulled her hand away if he hadnโ€™t been expecting it and wasnโ€™t used to it. But he was. So used to it that in fact, he would have been more surprised if she hadnโ€™t reacted the way she did. It should have made him sad that that was his reality, but his feelings were numb after years of living this way, like a child holding a snow globe watching a world he was not a part of. Except he wasnโ€™t a child. More like a monster.

โ€œFiveโ€ฆfive feet away. Space.โ€ Miss Octoberโ€™s voice snapped Robert out of his thoughts and he blinked at her as she elaborated. โ€œYouโ€™re too close.โ€ At this, he stepped back, rubbing the back of his neck with the hand he had offered to her while shoving the other even deeper into his pocket. He hoped his grandmother wasnโ€™t still lingering around somewhere. He would much prefer not to have a conversation about this when he got home. If she knew how uncomfortable he seemed to make most people feel, perhaps she wouldnโ€™t be as adamant about him socialising, but then again, she would be heartbroken, and he didnโ€™t want that.

โ€œSorryโ€ฆโ€ He said looking up. She seemed to be staring at him? Had he offended her in some way or did she recognise him from when she walked around town in previous Octobers? Or was she looking just becauseโ€ฆ? He was at it again. He really needed to stop this habit of his, analysing his observations, making meanings and fusses out of nothing, overthinking. It had been years since he needed to do that. His parents werenโ€™t around anymore, but the habit had regretfully stuck, and he couldnโ€™t seem to shake it.

"What are you two doing out here? Not heading to the Haunted Houses for a scare?"

Robert shrug his shoulders in response to her question. He didnโ€™t care much for them because nothing ever happened other than screaming. If the place was truly haunted perhaps he would be more interested butโ€ฆhe recalled a classmate saying they were wasted on him anyway, since he didnโ€™t get scared. He couldnโ€™t help but wonder what they would say if they knew what he was afraid of, what scared him. Heโ€™d probably be deemed a liar or a madman if he ever told them. In any case it was probably best if he stayed away from haunted houses or anything of the sort. That was the place he was most likely to run into Tessa and after that incident at the cottage, heโ€™d been making sure not to cross her path as far as possible. He thought that if he succeeded with his plan back then, he would put an end to everything, but heโ€™d failed instead and added to his list of sins rather than clearing them when the cottage closed down as a result and he paid Tessaโ€™s kindness by robbing her of what she held dear.

Robert shifted his attention from thoughts of the cottage to responding to the question the mystery woman had asked. โ€œIโ€™mโ€ฆwaiting.โ€ He answered lamely. He wasnโ€™t really waiting- well he was waiting for time to pass but not waiting for someone to come as his response might have implied, not that he was going to explain that. โ€œI donโ€™t really care for the haunted housesโ€ฆYou seem to like places like that.โ€ He regretted the words as they came out of his mouth. They made him sound soโ€ฆpresumptuous and creepy and he the last part wasnโ€™t even relevant to the question sheโ€™d ask. That habit of his and his poor communication skills really werenโ€™t helping at all. Sure he might not be wrong to draw the conclusion that Miss October liked the supernatural like Tessa because heโ€™d only ever seen her during spooky month but he certainly didnโ€™t have to run his mouth and tell her that. Perhaps he ought to run off right now, disappear into his car and head home, but gran would be so upset if she found out. Why did he have to let those words slip out? He probably should have explained what he meant but the thought of telling her heโ€™d noticed her around Salem in previous Octobers made him feel like even more of a creep so he kept his mouth shut instead, hoping that doing so would limit whatever damage heโ€™d already done.

Well, things were happening. In that instant where Cas had decided to not help the pretty angry lady who looked like she wanted to tie him into a pretzel and eat him, someone had jumped in front of him to offer their hand. It took a few moments to realize it was socially awkward and ever so slightly creepy Robert. Robert. The guy that always seemed to barely understand how to do the whole 'human interaction' thing was offering his hand down to said pretty prone lady and suddenly Cas felt like if it was possible, he now looked even worse. Did something happen in the last few years to help Robert learn how to interact with people or was Cas really just that bad of a human being? Honestly, good chance it could be both.

"I was, but I don't tend to look down all that often," Cas joked on reflex.. which was true. How was he supposed to know there was a gremlin hiding under a tree? Did she look straight down to make sure she didn't bump into an ant when she walked? It seemed his attempt at conversation wasn't as appreciated as it could have been as she threw dirt at him. Dirt. Seems she took the whole 'mud flinging' thing very literal, "I could have asked if you were okay," Cas admitted and continued in a rush, "But that would have been like, 'oh my god, I just ran you over and oh lord, I am sorry, my name is Cas would you like to go an get cotton candy?' and I really didn't want to do that whole cliche, really, was hoping we'd glare at one another and just slowly walk away but.." Cas made a point at glancing over to Robert who still had his hand extended towards the fuming woman, "That didn't really work out as intended."

When the lady finally took Roberts hand and making Cas feel almost validated he hadn't offered it as she seemed to have quite the feminist pride and the last thing he needed was for her to open up his wrist in some weird feminist blood letting of equal rights because she don't need no man to help her up, "Well, I am glad this... ka-girl," he said imitating her slip up, "talks about herself in the third person because that wouldn't make this even more awkward or anything," Sure it was a low blow and considering he was in the wrong on this whole thing, he really should just be turning and walking away, but it was kind of hilarious in its own way. Pretty third person talking woman who recently fell for him and social awkward Robert acting as the Halloween's White Knight was an interesting mix, he just had to see how it played out.. although he did wish he wasn't feeling like the mustache twirling villain, but every good story needed a villain.

Haunted house? Fuck that noise. Cas was never the bravest of lads and the only thing that saved him was he tended to freeze instead of scream and his visits into creepy places had always been Tessa's doing... and his own stupidity. Why would he willingly go into it without Tessa to pull him by some invisible chain? Before Cas could answer, Robert jumped in and spoke and whatever change Cas felt Robert might have undergone in his absence was dashed. He was still as awkward and borderline creepy as always as it sounded like he had been almost stalking the woman with the whole 'you seem to like'.. "Well, that was creepy," Cas said almost too cherrily, "Fuck no, ya see, Haunted Houses be scary and Brave Sir Robin is my spirit animal and unless I am peer pressured by a friend, I don't tend to enter them, its bad for the heart, you know? Also I am here cause I just got back into town and I am feeling super awkward, ya know? Like its almost like a high school reunion, run up into the old gang and be like, 'Hey y'all, sorry about the whole not keeping in touch but... how about them Metz?' which just sounds horrid. Truly does. So figured I'd stand under this tree all creepy like but it seems you beat me too it."

The impatient kitty had grown tired of waiting on her grump of a brother to take her to the festival. It sounded like loads of fun; why was he being such a loser about it? Not that that was any different than normal, but still... With a huff and another stomp, she'd just set to turning around and going on her own when she thought she heard movement from behind his door.

"Are you up?" She questioned, her jaw dropping at his threat. "You'd have to catch me before drop kicking me, asshole!" She crossed her arms, definitely hearing movement now. Sure enough, a few moments later, the door opened and Elia stood there, looking about as happy as a cactus. "Gross. Can you please wear a different expression than your norm? It's Halloween time, for god's sake. Be someone different." She paused. "Someone cool."

Flashing him her best annoyingly charming smile, she tossed her colored hair over her shoulder and turned, sauntering off. He passed her quickly, and she rolled her eyes at his back. "Ecstatic." She answered his question, her tone sarcastic at best. "We're walking there, right? It's a beautiful night, I already stepped outside to check." Hurrying to catch up to him, she looked over at her cactus brother, her own expression wide eyed and innocent now.

"Plus I don't think it's really that far. We're in a good location." She smiled at him, excited for candy and caramel apples and everything else to come. Their last town wasn't anything like this, and she couldn't wait to get to the festival and start celebrating. Clasping her hands together as they reached the front door, she slipped her feet into her black flats and cast one backwards glance at Elia.

"Did you remember your mask?" She teased, a flashback to her earlier joke of telling him to be someone cool. Without waiting for an answer, she skipped outside, the door slamming shut behind her.

"Sorry . . ."

Bewildered was an understatement of the century. Clara wasn't used to apologies nor hearing it. Knitting her brows together, Claraโ€™s gaze remained on the strange male. He was too close to comfort yet somehow, deep down Clara internalized that she was not at fault. Seeing the maleโ€™s uncomfortableness, Clara bit her lip and exhaled. She was not guilty, however, Clara couldnโ€™t help but feel a hint of vexation at the emotions bubbling in the pit of her stomach. However, the moment passed and Clara hoped the matter was already resolved.

โ€œIโ€™mโ€ฆwaiting.โ€

At hearing the peculiar maleโ€™s response to her question as to why he wasnโ€™t participating in Salemโ€™s traditional haunted house events, Clara cocked her head to the side in wonder. Was he waiting for that girl he was with? Clara didnโ€™t have a reason to keep tabs on both him and the female he was with, however, her curiosity got the best of her and Clara wanted to know.

โ€œWhat are you waiting for?โ€ She innocently inquired, truly intrigued.

However, before Clara could ask more questions, a voice drew her attention away.

Oh, she nearly forgot the big oaf who bumped into her was still lingering around. Clara wanted to ignore the manโ€™s entire existence, alas, she could never have her way. Instead, the subject of her ire decided to explain his reasoning for his impoliteness. Or rather, attempted to describe it nonchalantly.

"I was, but I don't tend to look down on all that often. I could have asked if you were okay. But that would have been like, 'oh my god, I just ran you over and oh lord, I am sorry, my name is Cas would you like to go a get cotton candy?' and I really didn't want to do that whole cliche, really, was hoping we'd glare at one another and just slowly walk away but. . that didn't work out as intended."

The more the man continued to speak, the easier it was for Clara to get angry. She believed wholeheartedly that they could put the matter behind them. However, the walking tree wanted to have the last word. With a raised brow, Clara placed a hand on her hip trying hard to not roll her eyes or sound him out. But, hearing him mock her was the last straw.

"Well, I am glad this... ka-girl," The big oaf sarcastically mimicked, "talks about herself in the third person because that wouldn't make this even more awkward or anything,"

โ€œIs this how you try to reconcile with people. . . Cas? Or is it also one of those โ€˜oops, I bumped into someone, I donโ€™t have the decency to admit my mistake because I donโ€™t look where Iโ€™m going since I can only look at things at an eye-level! Oh, how could I possibly afford to apologize when my nose is way up here? Iโ€™m just going to walk away from my problems! Itโ€™s worked before! Fuck the cliche!โ€ She ridiculed, raising her voice an octave higher as she sneered, not at all trying to hide her annoyance. Never once had she uttered such a curse, but for this man, she saved it just for him.

Claraโ€™s met people like Cas before and she neither cared nor wanted to make a good impression when these two strangers would be nothing more than that. They couldnโ€™t help her and she didnโ€™t want it. If she had her tail, they would be swishing at this very moment.

โ€œBut to answer your question, cotton candy would have been the perfect trade-off. Should have gone with your gut, Cas.โ€ Clara stated matter-of-factly before hearing spooky boyโ€™s words and then Casโ€™. Her attention was drawn back towards the subject at hand.

โ€œRight, where were we? Ah, haunted houses.โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t care for the haunted housesโ€ฆYou seem to like places like that.โ€

"Well, that was creepy,โ€ Frankenstein commented, "Fuck no, ya see, Haunted Houses be scary and Brave Sir Robin is my spirit animal and unless I am peer pressured by a friend, I don't tend to enter them, it's bad for the heart, you know? Also, I am here because I just got back into town and I am feeling super awkward, ya know? Like its almost like a high school reunion, run up into the old gang and be like, 'Hey y'all, sorry about the whole not keeping in touch but... how about them Metz?' which just sounds horrid. Truly does. So figured I'd stand under this tree all creepy like but it seems you beat me to it."

Shaking her head, Clara looked between both spooky boy and Frankenstein in absolute confusion. The feline got more than she bargained for and Clara slightly hissed. Her heart hammered against her chest and her head was pounding. She nearly felt as if she was having a panic attack. Clara couldnโ€™t believe her ears.

What did he say? Did she seem to like places like that? What did he know? And what was Cas on about? Robin, who? And a reunion? Oh boy, Clara was absolutely, utterly baffled.

It didnโ€™t occur to her that after all these years, she should have done something better with her time than obsessively find an antidote or sort to rid herself of her curse. But, no matter how many times she tried to find โ€˜witchesโ€™, they were all floozies. However, it was too late to think about that now.

It wasnโ€™t easy to connect the dots of who knows who in Salem. Sure, it was an old and small town, but it was none of her business. Clara was taught to never make assumptions and if she was going to disappear all year round, Clara believe there wasnโ€™t a reason for her to get close to others. Although Clara had passing acquaintances here and there, she only kept tabs on those she felt truly connected with: those involved with Sandersonโ€™s Cottage, the Butchersons, and the elders of Salem.

โ€œWait,โ€ She took a breath, โ€œYou two know each other? How?โ€

Cas mentioned he was back in town and Clara could only frown. She knew the feeling of being the odd one out and coming back to a place that was โ€œhomeโ€ but not really home. Did he feel the same way? Was that the reason for his awkwardness? Regardless of the reason, he still was on her bad side. She didnโ€™t forgive him, not yet, at least. However, what concerned her the most was Ro . . she couldnโ€™t remember his name. Nevertheless, Clara narrowed her eyes. What was she supposed to say? No one prepared for this scenario nor did she believe someone was observant enough to take note of her. Salem was filled with ignorant locals, but, it seems like she was wrong. Dead wrong.

โ€œYou,โ€ Clara started, not caring about her rudeness, โ€œHave you been watching me?โ€ A slight shiver went down her spine as couldnโ€™t help but close her eyes, taking a deep breath. โ€œWhere? When?โ€ She egged on further, wanting to know every detail. Although she was confident she wouldn't be caught, Clara also banked on the locals' ignorance of the supernatural world. Would anyone believe her? She doubted it. However, Ro . . was another story. She saw him that year messing with things he shouldn't. Does he see a resemblance?

Narrowing her eyes, she pushed more, โ€œYou owe me at least that, spooky man.โ€ Clara was stunned and afraid of his answer, however, she needed to know even if it put her on edge. Who was this man and why was he watching her? But, most of all, if she hadn't messed with him and the girl, what would have happened? โ€Youโ€™re treading on dangerous waters.โ€ She warned him cryptically. Clara couldnโ€™t afford to make mistakes, but she felt enclosed and entrapped by his words.

Her and Casโ€™ feud was the least of her problems, however, she needed something, anything, to keep herself from running. If she ran, that would make things much worse. So, she did what she did best.

Clara turned back towards Cas once more, โ€I beat you, did I? How about we settle this . . feud or whatever this is.โ€ She sighed, using her hand to point between all three of them for emphasis.

Her eyes glanced around Central Park as she looked at each of the booths. Some of them had been set up and there was one in particular that caught her eye. It was a ring toss game that was akin to carnival or festival games.

โ€œA ring toss. If you win, none of this happened and we can, as you say, walk away from this. But, if I win, you owe me more than cotton candy.โ€ She offered towards Cas before looking towards โ€œRoโ€ once more, โ€œAnd you still owe me an explanation.โ€

Tessa felt embarrassed at appearing so suddenly she wasn't sure if she was ruining Lottie and Dean plans, she was just happy to see Lottie that she didn't think if she wanted to be with Dean only, although he didn't seem bothered by her presence nor was Lottie, she smiled at Lottie's invitation to be with them in the festival, Tessa didn't want to be alone, Halloween was supposed to be a fun holiday you spent with your friends so while Cas was busy with mysterious girl and Robert she could catch up with Lottie in the meantime. Even if they were not as close as she was with Cas, she missed Lottie, Tessa felt that every time someone left Salem a piece of the soul of the town and it was their people what made the place special so seeing them come back made her believe that the soul of the city was full again.
"Yes! That's where I was heading but then I saw you and I needed to come and see you, as much as I love Halloween I wanted to catch up with a friend that I haven't seen in a long time and now that the three of us are going to the festival is more fun than being on my own. I can't wait to see what's new at the festival and eat all the food they offer" Tessa said excitedly as she interlocked Lottie and Dean arms with hers.
"He is back, I saw him at the festival she was with a pretty girl, didn't seem to be his girlfriend since they seemed they just meet for the first time, but it seems he hasn't changed at all, still being Cas, but now he is just college Cas but still the same guy that everyone knows. Robert was also with them maybe he might know the girl or they might be fighting for the love of the girl just like in romance books that would make the festival even more interesting. Don't you think? But let's stop talking about them and why you both don't tell me what you are up to I want to know everything? How's the cafe going? What did you do while you were gone?" She asked the pair that now needed to reply to all questions that were coming out of Tessa's mind.
