As discussion turned to what they should be doing now, Silent Glade waited for the others to say their piece, then spoke quietly: "I know these lands. My people have wandered them for generations. I know of...."
Psychie Psychie I could use some Storyteller guidance please. The PC-to-Storyteller relationship is different from the Palladium and Pathfinder games we have shared for years together and I'm having difficulty understanding what the expectations are here. In the games you and I share, we PCs tend to ask you if using a Skill is allowed or proper (because sometimes it's not), you provide the okay, then we roll, then you decide if we are successful or not, and whatever the roll, you declare what we know or don't know.

In Exalted, as your Players, we are to... inform you that we are using a Skill and how successful we are or not in your world and then come to you to provide the details? You're rolling my dice for me (thank you!) and I don't want to overstep any boundaries. In my mind, you are Storyteller/Judge/DM/GM/HeadPsychieInCharge and this is your house. I respect your rules and we have a great time together as always! Just like you do in my house (when I'm running the game)! Ha ha!=)

What are your expectations of me in Exalted, please? How can I adapt with the fun here? =)

And yes, lesson learned. I don’t know what they have on you, but it’s enough that you can’t risk your staff letting the uh…fat cat out of the bag.”
Rykon, I laughed out loud when I read that! Hah! =)

She looks over at the giant cat and plants her hand on her hip, saying, "So, what is your story, kind spirit? You helped us out when you didn't have to, so I will guess that you are a friend. Are you willing to help us escape from the Wild Hunt? Knowing that you may be putting your own life on the line in the process of doing so?" She waits for some kind of response from the cat, hoping for a positive answer.
By the Lunars book, I have read that Lunars cannot speak in forms that do not have the proper vocal chords (like a cat). Therefore, Da Chonk, in Animal form cannot reply with language to Amara. If there is a way around this (maybe found later in game), I am unaware of it.

Can Fat Cat then use his claw and scratch words into the earth? Use his Glance-Oration Technique Charm to communicate? Something else?

[OOC: Apologies to Purr Purr ; I just wanted to establish that our two characters knew each other to a degree.]
jaydude jaydude No apologies necessary, buddy! I see Grey Stone as vouching for O Mighty Fat Cat! He's taking that moment to step into the conversation long enough to let Amara know, "I know this dude, he's a cool cat." What could be better? =)

Amara doesn't know you are a Lunar, so she is not aware that you may not be able to communicate in your form. Many spirit animals can talk despite being an animal, so she is simply giving you a chance to reply somehow. Now that she's gotten the thumbs up from Stone, she is more willing to give you the benefit of the doubt that you are a good guy.

Also, I might be missing something, but couldn't he just shift into his human or hybrid forms and communicate normally?

Ah. If I'd been aware that Amara didn't know Fat Cat was another Exalt, I'd have had Grey Stone mention this. You want me to edit my post accordingly?

It's up to you. She will learn of his Lunar status soon enough, I suspect.

In your case, if you wish to have me roll a skill check for you, just let me know and I'll happily do so. If you were using the die roller, I'd let you roll when you wish to try to know/spot/do something. It helps to make the game go by smoother and faster when I don't have to constantly make a request for a roll and wait for your reply. Does that help?

Those that have gone inside the locked room of the wagon: Please give me a Per + Awareness roll while inside the wagon to see if you spot any exceptional goodies.
That leaves me out. Amara never went inside.

Rolling.

AARGH!!!

He bangs his head on something in the darkness, or steps on a loose nail.

I updated Mercy’s post in the in game thread with the roll, and got 5 successes.

You know of a secluded spot that just might fit the bill to hide out for a time. It is still many hours of travel from your current location, and it is in some very tricky countryside, but if you can get there before the Hunt, you should be fine. It is an old manse that is well hidden from prying eyes.
Sounds perfect. I'll get that sorted directly, and add in the perception roll.

Yeah! That's what I gathered from your post with Amara. I didn't know spirit animals could talk though. That's kind of cool! =)

Yes. I haven't gotten around to expressing this, but Fat Cat does not trust Kerwin any farther than he can-- well he can throw him, can't he? =)

Fat Cat doesn't trust Kerwin. He doesn't want Kerwin getting away with any more information than he has including what Fat Cat looks in either of his other forms. If he shifts into his human form or his hybrid form to speak, Kerwin will see and hear that too.

Psychie Psychie Yep! Thank you! =)

Re: inside the wagon. Before we skedaddle, I wanted Fat Cat to take a look around inside for anything that did not seem to belong to the Solars beside the rack of ornamental swords.

I would like to roll too? I would like to take advantage of his Enhanced Sense - Sight and Night Vision mutations if they apply, please. =)

Of course. I'll roll the bones in a moment.

Psychie Psychie I also forgot to mention his Charmed Existence Merit. Should I bring that up whenever I roll? Or should I leave that to you? What's better for you?

Rolling.

AARGH!!!

Aww! Poor Grey Stone! Is if you're not having a rough enough day already! =)

Thanks for mentioning it, but I remembered that you have it. No '1's' this time, though.
Hooray!

Do you want me to throw in a reminder whenever I roll?

Mention it every now and then, just to help remind me. Especially for those important rolls!
O.K.!

Just to throw out my intentions, I would also like for Fat Cat to search our ol' pal Kerwin high and low for anything of importance he may be carrying.

I will try to post in a little while.

Fair enough. And yes, with Strength 5, I'd have thought that Fat Cat would be accomplished in the art of humanoid yeeting.

/silly on

Hah! Humanoid yeeting! A new Specialty courtesy of our Jay! Everyone in the Circle should get this! 8D

Ooh! Maybe it could be a new Charm? We don't kill bad guys anymore; we just toss them back and forth until they throw up and are helpless to fight back! We'll be known as the Yeet and Barf Circle! Hahaha! Just kidding!

/silly off

Or how about The "Huck and Upchuck Circle?" Ha ha ha!

Wow that is some serious loot, that Dragon Born is going to be sorry for doing what he did to us.
