I only said that because we are facing off against a massive army with lots of demons in support. If they were to join us, it could be a valuable help to us. But these are Abyssals, and they are nasty individuals, and will most likely betray us at the earliest opportunity.

I read what you wrote, Bud. Several times. I always do before I post anything of length.

Now I know your perspective better! Thank you for sharing your mind with me, Bud. =)

I honestly don't know what would be the best option here. If we were to have them sign on with us, it will have to be in a subservient way, and we will have to task a lot of resources to keep watch on them to keep them from screwing us over. But if we could incorporate them into our force as willing allies, it could present us with resources and materials to use against the Demon Queen and her forces. As much as that is a good thing, I am still thinking that eliminating them right here and now will present us with the least amount of future trouble.

Well, any way you look at it, I guess it's time to tag everybody and get everyone's O.O.C. opinions on this matter before we continue I.C.? Eonivar Eonivar jaydude jaydude Psychie Psychie Rykon Rykon Sherwood Sherwood

What does everyone think about this?

In general, Aredin's artifact wants him to be more bloodthirsty. So I've gone with a less mercy minded perspective in this campaign.

That said, even when i set the character's bias aside I still echo Sherwood's concerns on trustworthiness.

Story wise, we are in an extremely high stakes plot. Especially for the characters' level of experience. Abyssals are way down on the totem pole for, "potential allies I'd be willing to bet on" and the pressure only makes me more risk averse.

As potentially powerful allies as Abyssals could be, I think we've proven time and again just how big a deal team size can really be when facing arguable stronger opponents 1 to 1. So I'd rather spend my luck getting Dragon Blooded and Lunars on the same team, rather than Abyssals.

Maeve sees these "Corrupted Solars" as Abominations and has no problem trying to free their souls back in to the Solar reincarnation cycles (yes she does not understand exactly...but that is what she thinks).

Sounds to me that there is little argument against killing these Abyssal Exalts. Let’s take them out.

Yeah, they seem like villains alright.

That's 14 Lethal assuming no double 10s on damage iirc. which gets doubled to 28L thanks to Thunderbolt Attack Prana.]
28 Lethal Damage?

Maybe that means... in layman's terms... that Aredin kills the dude so badly he wakes up in the Next Life and dies there too? Yowza!

=)

Yeah I'm pretty happy with that one. Even if the attack roll was less than stellar for that die pool.

On a related note... I'd have to read up to see if the lore changed, but if memory serves nasty things happen to Abyssal souls when they die, unlike other people and creatures. Then again, perhaps Grey Stone's anima power can spare them that fate.

None of that would be known to us in character, except maybe Delilah. Still, since our last adventure was all about setting a ghost to rest, it's not unreasonable to attempt a corpse-burning ability anyway for peace of mind.

Being silly here. I've lined up all of the I.C. and O.O.C. quotes in anticipation. These are quoted goodies I've been enjoying leading up to the Big Belly Flop of Doom this archer so very much deserves! =)

Beginning with this little gem!
The man gives a chuckle. “No, I don’t think so. My companions are just fine where they are. And you sure have some spunk there, toots. I like that in a woman. Especially when you combine it with a body as hot as yours.” He makes a point of enjoying looking at your figure with a lustful gaze before looking you in the eye again. “So, what’s it gonna be, baby cakes? Why don’t you ditch these losers and I can show you a real good time. It will be an experience you won’t forget.”
Well, if Del gets a hold of him with her sash, that would make the archer a prime pillow to belly flop onto.
O Mighty Fat Cat gets ready to pounce - not only is this archer not fooling anyone anymore, Da Chonk believes he should get what is coming to him. With his party warned about the heavier second foe coming up, O Mighty Fat Cat is more than ready to be the deliverer of Luna's justice!
As Del drops down from her high leap, her sash pulls the Abyssal out of the tree and he lands with a thump on the ground, clearly stunned and having trouble breathing as he claws at the fabric around his neck.
The archer is currently in the midst of a clinch attack and cannot move, so his DV is currently zero. Go ahead and roll your damage.
"OWRRR-ROWRR!" is all O Mighty Fat Cat can reply with in his current form as he prepares to inflict upon the stunned archer the Big Kitty Belly Flop of Doom.

Oh boy! =)

Dragging the body along with her, Del leaps up into the howdah and grabs ahold of one of the straps to keep from getting flung out.
Da Chonk's magical transformable artifact-that-is-currently-a-howdah is made for flight, so I imagine there are plenty of things to keep people belted in and comfrortable. =)

That's all we need is for the Storyteller to ask you to make a roll and you fumble and off the floating island Delilah goes! Hah!

Psychie Psychie in terms of Essence regen, we started the second round of combat so we should all get 5 motes back. Do we get any more due to the tense situation, or are we back to normal respiration rates now (which is... 5m/hour?)

Everyone will get their first 5m back, then we go onto normal essence regeneration of the 5m per hour plus any you get from hearthstones you may have

What provides the Necromancer's ship's buoyancy? Is there a gas-bag or something, or is it Magic TM?
I’m going to have an IC post up later, but it appears to be some sort of magic flight ability with the wings working as stability and aiding with steering.

Can O Mighty Flying Fat Cat belly-flop on to the Necromancer from out of nowhere?! Then the Circle can jump down out of the howdah and then we'll have her surrounded!

Just kidding! Ha ha!

Psychie Psychie What does the airship appear to be made of? It is hard or soft?

What might happen if The Lucky Fat Cat Express... lands on it? At the very least, might that slow the thing down?

It looks like it is made if flesh and bone, almost as if it were alive. In this case, most likely a necrotech construction of dead tissue animated to move. It is likely that only parts of the hull are hard.

If you land on it, you could do some damage just from your weight on it. That might be the fastest way to keep it from taking off.

Who am I to turn down the Game Master's own words? =)
