Indelible (For Caspen)

Trevor:

He felt a bit safer when Fenris took his hand. He wasn't used to being here, or in these sorts of places. They walked in and Trevor trailed close behind Fenris. When they reached the area with all the shoes, Trevor stood there, his hand still clasping Fenris's tightly. He was worried, but tried not to make that obvious. There were so many shoes and he didn't really get the point of them, but then again, maybe it was something other people did understand and he was just unaware.

I left our basket in the aisle to wait for us and pulled Trevor with me into the rows of shoes, looking around a bit. I found of plain black and white tennis shoes that were simple but nice and picked out a few sizes I thought might be right. "Here, you can sit on this little bench here and we'll try them on." I let him sit and set about undoing the laces so he could get his foot in. I'd probably have to help him check which ones were right.

Trevor:

As he tried on the different shoes to see what size he wore, Trevor let Fenris check each one to see if it was right. After some time, they found the pair that worked and Trevor put them back in the box for Fenris to buy them. They were comfortable and not something Trevor was used to. So, shoe shopping had been a success. Trevor was happy with the shoes, of course.

Just one pair was fine for now, since we probably wouldn't be doing too much outside for a while, not until he was healthier. We moved on after that, and I held his hand still, pushing the basket one-handed as we walked and ignoring any looks we might get. I took him to the clothes section and left the basket again, looking for pants. A couple pairs of jeans, a couple things to sleep in, and then whatever else he wanted would be all right. I wasn't sure if he would be comfortable in denim, but we would see.

Trevor:

Once more, Trevor wasn't used to being around so many things, or even so many people. They picked up a lot of things for Trevor to try on before they walked to the changing rooms. They had several pairs of jeans and other various things for him to try. There was a pair of black tight jeans that he liked and was excited to see if they fit. They did, and some other things too. He had noticed some of the people watching, but didn't give much thought to it.

I let Trevor try on what we'd brought, waiting patiently outside his fitting room, and smiled a little when he came out. "So? Did you find as many as you think you'll need? If you like some but they don't fit, we can get more in different sizes." I just didn't want to make him keep coming back to stores. It would be better for both of us, I thought, if he got all he needed now.

Trevor:

When he brought the pairs out, Fenirs asked him if they were enough and Trevor nodded, all of the ones they had brought, they brought in several sizes. He placed the ones that didn't fit in the changing room seat and held the others in his hand. He placed them in the cart with the shoes and thanked Fenris.

I smiled a little and just took his hand again, moving on. "Oh, don't thank me yet. We've still got a few big stops to make in here, and you'll probably be tired of it by the time we're done." Once we were done with clothes we would probably just have to browse the toiletries until we found everything he might need.

Trevor:

Holding hands with Fenris, Trevor looked at all the people as they passed them. He tried to smile at the people that stared at the two of them, but they rarely smiled back at him. He didn't mind, but it confused him a little bit. They went over to get some shirts and Trevor and Fenris picked some up for Trevor to try on. He tried on various shirts; some tank tops, some short sleeve and some long sleeve ones. He placed the ones that fit in the buggy and left the others in the changing room like they had before. Trevor was quick to take Fenris's hand once more after he set the tops down.

Fenris-

It wasn't surprising, really, when he latched onto me as quickly as he could. I gave him a little smile and squeezed his hand to show him I wouldn't let go. "It's all right. Just one more area to visit and we'll go back home. You're going to need soap and toothbrushes and toothpaste - all of that stuff. We'll find things you like." I knew I had scents I preferred for my soap, so maybe he did too. I also couldn't stand most toothpastes and thought maybe he might need a special one as well.

Trevor:

They reached the isle with all the toiletries and went through the different smelling things, Trevor making odd faces at some of them before they found one that Trevor liked. The got a bunch of different things that Fenris said they would need while Trevor flipped his hair out of his eyes every so often.

Fenris-

I went over the basket when we were done, looking over everything and going through a mental list. "I think that's everything for now. Anything else you need you can borrow from me or we can just get it at a later date. Now, food. We'll need more food since all mine is probably spoiled." I laughed softly when he flipped his hair again and just reached up to gently push it back away from his eyes. "What's the matter? Too long? We can get it cut, if you'd like, or I can cut it for you at home."

Trevor:

Shrugging, Trevor shook his head, "I like it like this... Unless you want it to be short." They browsed the foods and Trevor watched as the foods were put in the buggy and things. He stuck close to Fenris and tried to act normal, or as normal as he could without knowing what normal really was.

Fenris-

I shrugged a little as we walked around, gathering different things. "I don't mind, if you like it. I just didn't want it getting in the way if it was annoying you." I gathered different things I thought he might like, but was grateful I didn't have to buy meat. At least I knew things in the freezer were fine. "Ooo, we should do burgers tonight. . ."

Trevor:

Smiling, Trevor nodded, "I'd like that..." They grabbed some things before they headed to the checkout and got the things. He watched the cashier nervously, his eyes moving quickly around the different people in the place. He tried to help with the bagging, like the other person had started bagging the items.

Fenris-

I smiled a little when Trevor started bagging, tempted to tell him he didn't have to but doing my best to let him do as he wished. I just chuckled a little when the cashier sort of smiled and looked at me. "He likes helping." Helping me, anyway, I wasn't so sure about other people. We left after that, the bill high but no higher than I'd expected. He'd needed a lot of things, of course. After that we just had to spend a few minutes loading everything into the car. "If you don't feel up to it when we're home, I can get it all inside myself." It would just take a few trips, that was all.
((I gtg help mom with shopping for a while. Back later))

Trevor:

Shaking his head, Trevor smiled a little bit, "I'm up to bring them in with you." Once they had piled the things in the trunk and got in the car, Trevor smiled a little bit and chewed at the inside of his lip a little. (( It's all good... Sorry for the short post:(... ))

Fenris-

I was grateful for the help and when we got to the house it only took two trips to get all the bags inside. "Here, lets get all this food put away and throw out the old stuff, then we can get all your clothes and such sorted." It would be better to do food first since a lot of it belonged in the fridge. "Sound good?"

((Its okay. I understand :) long posts are hard to do all the time unless you've got a real juicy storyline going lol))

Trevor:

Nodding, Trevor helped him get the things in the the refrigerator. There was a lot of food in the fridge when they were done. Trevor looked at it from where he stood, liking that they had finished something together. He was proud that they had been able to do something together.

( I'm really sorry, but I've got to go ))

Fenris

I looked around a little, making sure everything that needed to go was gone and everything that needed to be put away was in its place. Afterwards I just smiled at him and starting picking up bags of clothes. "On to the next project!" His room. I led him up there, both of us able to take the remaining bags in one trip and started setting things out to be put away. "Later on, when you have an idea of what you'd like, we can redecorate. We can paint a different color, if you want, or get decals and pictures for the walls. Anything, really." I wanted him to like it here.

((That's fine ^_^ Bye))

Trevor:

He chuckled when he talked about decorating the room, smiling a little. They reached his room, Trevor helped set the things out. He hung different things on the hangers and took them to his closet, ordering them by category and colors. He had always been a very organized person, but rarely had the chance to showcase it. Smiling over at Fenris, Trevor chewed on his lip, "I'm okay with any color, really."

Fenris

I looked around a little, spinning a slow circle, and just smiled. "Maybe we'll just repaint the white so it shines more, and then you can put anything you want on the walls." He could put up posters, pictures, decals - anything he wanted. I walked over and looked at the closet, blinking in surprise. "Very impressive. I wish I usually organized like this. I tend to just throw things in."

Trevor:

Slightly blushing when Fenris complimented him, Trevor smiled a bit. He studied the room a bit, wondering what it's purpose was before it was his room. Watching Fenris carefully, Trevor moved closer to him, not too close, but just closer than he had been standing. He liked being close to Fenris for some reason and was comforted by his presence.

Fenris

I smiled a little when he moved closer and just took his hand, twining my fingers through his. "You want to explore the backyard a little, too? It's not too big, but I've got some patio furniture on the deck and it's nice to sit out there when the sun is out." I thought he might like being in open spaces, after being restrained so long. But I tried not to think about it.

Trevor:

Nodding, Trevor gladly followed him to the backyard. Trevor was a huge fan of the outdoors, but just didn't like people in it. As they made their way to the backyard, he pushed his sleeves up, not noticing the scars on his wrists from years of restraints. He forgot about the scars for a while as they made their way to the back. "I... I really like the outdoors..."
