Indelible (For Caspen)

Trevor:

He nodded a bit, getting the point, and pulled his shirt off slowly, trying not to make anything worse. He tried to put the gown on quickly, avoiding letting Fenris see the extent of the injuries he had to his chest, stomach and back. There were many scars, bruises, and a few open cuts. He pulled the gown completely around him before slipping his shorts off. He was nervous about Fenris seeing the damage, but he had to get the x-rays done, and to do that apparently he had to wear this gown.

Fenris

I turned away a bit so he wouldn't feel uncomfortable, but went back to him when he was done to tie up the strings in the back. He tried to hold it closed for the most part, but his upper back was still visible, and the marks and bruises there made me feel sick. When he was decent again, covered up nicely, I picked him up and brought him to the right room, where I had to set him down on yet another table. "You're just going to lie down here," I said, gently helping him to do so while Dr. Lace waited behind the small wall where the processing equipment was. "I'm supposed to be over there with the doctor, okay? I won't leave you." I had to be behind the wall as procedure to hide from the faint xray radiation. "Do you need me to stay here?" I would, if he wanted me to.
((leaving in 20 minutes, probly wont be back until way late tonight))

Trevor:

Shaking his head, Trevor took a deep breath, "I'm okay." When the first x-ray was taken, Trevor was surprised by the sound and everything that occurred with the x-ray. He tried not to be worried about it, but he wondered what it would show, and what Fenris would say about it. He squirmed a bit on the table, watching the machine and then moving when the doctor told him to move. She took a bunch of them, coming in and changing the films each time and telling him where to position himself. He tried to stay still like he was supposed to , but he kept coughing and he was starting to shiver again.

( that's okay. I will probably be on tomorrow, but weekdays I won't be on a lot )

((Okay, good to know :)

I just got back from taking an archery class and it was freaking awesome O_O Now me, my mom and the friend that went with us are all like "Let's go buy bows and do this more often!" xD It was so cool))

Fenris

When everything was said and done, I carried Trevor back to the exam room and set him on the table, wrapped him in a blanket the doctor had given me and kept an arm around his shoulders in hopes of keeping him warm. "The pictures will develop soon and she'll be able to see what's hurt better, so for now we'll just work on the scrapes and bruises, okay? But first we'd like to set your wrist. I know it'll hurt all over again, so . . . so is it all right if we make you sleep a little while?" I stayed close, wanted to reassure him. He was so small, so fragile. "It will only be long enough to take care of you, and then when you wake I'll be right by your side, I promise."

Trevor:

When he was back in the exam room, Trevor couldn't help but slightly lean on Fenris. He was asked about setting his wrist and about making him go to sleep. He was fearful at first, yes, but after looking up at Fenris, he felt better about it. He didn't really know how they intended on making him go to sleep, but it would probably work anyways just because he was already exhausted. "Yeah, you can make me go to sleep..." As the people move about, Trevor watched them carefully, still slightly petrified of hospitals.

(( That's awesome... I generally try to go shooting once a month or more. Not archery, I do that too, but not as often. Did you guys use compound bows? I prefer compound bows to long bows, their just easier. ))

((No, we used regular, novice recurves lol The take-down recurve, they called it. It was as tall as me... Then again, I'm a short person xD Anyway. I don't care so much about hitting bullseyes. I just have a fun time shooting, and the wooden bow makes it more fun in my opinion. I may just read too many comic books lol))

Fenris

I nodded, grateful that he could be asleep throughout the process, and just ran a hand gently up and down his forearm, as much to soothe him as because I was antsy with worry. "If you're afraid of needles, it'll just be a little prick, and then it'll be over, so don't worry about that. When you wake up, you'll probably have a cast on your wrist, and you might have to stay here a while, to heal. I'll stay with you, of course." It would be strange, being around people again, but I would get him a private room so he wouldn't be afraid of anything and so I wouldn't act more strangely around him than I had already.

(( Nah, re-curves are fine, and I am also short, so I get ti, that's why I use compounds, because I'm short and so it's just easier for me to handle it if it's more on my level. ))

Trevor:

Bracing himself, Trevor nodded. He had been around needles before, but that was morphine, and not for medical reasons, just because one of his previous masters had liked to dope him up sometimes. Needless to say, he was not really fond of needles, but he would deal with it. When they gave him the medicine, he felt cold at first and couldn't tell if it was working or not. It took about two minutes for it to begin it's job and he didn't like it. Everything was slowing down and speeding up at the same time. He squirmed around, trying to make the feeling go away, but was soon asleep.

((I would like to state, however, that I am accustom to needles and IVs and all those things... I spend way too much time in hospitals. ))

((I actually kinda like that it's so big. It's cool))

Fenris

I sighed in relief when he finally drifted off and was grateful I knew Dr. Lace because she let me help her treat the scratches and bruises while she took care of the broken bones. It was saddening, really, how much damage there actually was, and it made me so ill thinking of how much I hadn't noticed that the doctor actually told me to sit down and drink water for a while. Finally, when he had a cast on his wrist and his ribs were stabilized with tight wrappings, I was able to admit him into his own hospital room, where I sat next to his bedside, waiting for him to wake. I hoped he would feel better when he woke up, and if he didn't I hoped he would allow me to get pain medication for him.

((Ugh, I hate needles XP I avoid doctors as much as possible, so I'm glad I rarely ever get sick))

Trevor:

It was a dull throbbing at first, one that gradually transitioned into a bit of a sharper pain, but manageable. Trevor fluttered his eyes open, about to start panicking before he spotted Fenris. He was still fairly groggy from the medicine, and smiled at him a bit. His had went to the new cast on his arm, messing with it a bit before he set his hand back down. He felt better than before, now with everything set. After attempting to sit up Trevor realized they had also fixed his ribs. Sitting up was not a success for him, as it sent a terrible pain throughout his body and he was just to week to begin with. He knew it would take a little while for them to heal, but he had never had them bandaged before. With still slightly glazed over eyes, Trevor looked over at Fenris and gave him a confused look, "It's a different room."

Fenris

I sat up with wide eyes when he tried to move, standing and pushing him gently back down so he would stay still. "Don't move," I advised, fingers rubbing gently over his shoulder. "You're to stay still for a while, so you'll be staying here in this room until the bones knit properly. I'll be with you, of course, don't worry about that." I wanted him to feel safe, so I would stay with him. "I'll have to leave, at some point, to bring back clothes and such, but I promise not to be gone for more than an hour, and someone will make sure no one else comes in until I'm back. Is that all right? For now, if you're in pain, I can get you medication for it." I wanted him to be comfortable while he healed.

((Gtg to work bye!))

Trevor:

Fenris explained that Trevor would have to stay here a while, and Trevor nodded. He hated hospitals, but at least there weren't so many people now, and he just wanted to do whatever would make Fenris happy. He was offered medicine, but Trevor shook his head quickly, "I don't want any medicine... Please..." He was fearful of any medicine that they might give him, worried it might be the same thing that the man had given him before. He watched Fenris closely, wondering where this kindness came from.

(( yeah, I got to go too ))

Fenris

I admit I was caught off guard by that, and couldn't form words for a good thirty seconds or so. Finally, I sat forward a little in my chair and just rested a hand over his fingers since the hand closest to me was covered by the cast. "But . . . Aren't you in pain? I just - I'd thought you wouldn't want to feel that." He had to be hurting. "I just want you to be as comfortable as possible. . ." It was why I was keeping him here instead of taking him home, where I wanted to be. He would be better taken care of here.

Trevor:

Taking a deep breath, Trevor regained himself. He had let the fear cloud his mind and he hadn't been thinking about what would be normal for him to do. It was something that took more effort than most people could think, but he did it anyways. No one wanted a kid who was just insane, they wanted their slave to be reasonable, obedient. He did not want the medicine, no matter how much the pain increased, but he had to find a way to explain why. "I will do whatever you want me to, si-Fenris..." Calling his master by his first name was still challenging, but Trevor continued, "I do not want the medicine because I can deal with the pain I just..." He bit his lip and tried to control his emotions, "I have had bad experiences with medicine in the past and I can't-" Again, he stopped himself, not wanting to be that weak again, "I will do what ever you choose." At that point, he was holding back tears. He understood how unreasonable it would seem and tried not to let Fenris see him.

Fenris-

"N-No, no, I -" I shook my head, confused and concerned and at a loss. I reached out up to him, brushed my fingers against his cheek but didn't quite grip to make him look at me for fear of hurting him - I would likely always be afraid of that. "Don't be upset. Please, don't be afraid. If - If you're sure you'll be all right, I don't mind. You don't have to let me make decisions for you. If you're not comfortable with it, then that's fine. You don't have to do it." I just wanted him to feel better. If taking medicine made him feel worse, then he didn't have to do it.

Trevor:

Looking over at Fenris, Trevor gave him a thankful, but confused smile. The touch of his master made him happy, and he wished he knew a way to show him that he appreciated it. Communication had always been something that Trevor struggled with. Most of the time, he didn't need to communicate, or just wasn't allowed to and he had never thought it would be an issue for himself, but it now was. He watched Fenris carefully, "Thank you... how long am I staying here for?" He let his good hand mess with the IV dripping fluids in him. He didn't pull it out or anything, he just messed with it to see how it worked.

(( I might not be on for very long, I'm still at work, I'm just on a break... All depends on if anymore customers come in...))

((No problem. I totally understand. This is why I don't rp on my phone xD 'cause I'd be doing it at work lol))

Fenris

I glanced when he started fiddling with the needle, but it was taped down and unless he yanked hard enough to undo the tape it wouldn't come out, so I let it be for now. I sat back a bit in my chair, scooting it closer so I could stay near him. "I'm not sure. A week, maybe? Time for the more superficial wounds to heal, and for your ribs to knit back together like they should. When it's safe for you to move around more, I can take you back home again and get you properly settled in." I didn't want to be here any more than he did, but I wanted him well. "Is that all right? You'll be okay sleeping here, too? They'll let me stay with you." He was, as horrifying as it was to think the words, my property now, so I was allowed to be here. And even if I wasn't, I would have paid someone to let me stay.

Trevor:

At first, Trevor was terrified of the idea of staying in the hospital an entire week. The momentary freeze before he heard Fenris saying he would be staying there overnight was not long, barely noticeable, but it was unpleasant all the same. Trevor had never found anyone that made him feel safe, but Fenris did, and he really didn't want to let that go. He nodded, "Yes, that's okay..." Of course he was worried, but there was not a lot he could do, he just knew that he felt better when Fenris was around. It was about six O'clock and shift change at the hospital. It was fairly busy, but little of that could be heard or seen from their room. Biting his lip and looking around the room for a minute, Trevor then stopped on Fenris, "I'm sorry.... Um, I have to use the restroom." He had been holding his bladder but all the fluids they were sending into him made it hard to hold it and he didn't know what else to do.

Fenris

I paused, surprised at the suddeneness of it, then stood up. "Oh, yes, of course. You can walk if you can stand it, or I can carry you. So long as your torso stays as straight as possible." With the bandages there wasn't very many positions to be in but straight, but there was no harm in warning him. I could help him into the bathroom and give him a bit of privacy when I was sure he could move from the toilet to the sink to the door on his own.

Trevor:

Nodding, Trevor got out of the bed, his hand on the table next to it to keep himself upright. It was painful, but he was just going to have to deal with that for now. He removed one hand from the table, unsure of if he could stay balanced enough to walk by himself. His legs were shaky at best, but he could walk with some help. A slight cough came from his lips as he tried to remove the other hand, but had to place it back where it was because he lost balance again. The pain that came with the cough was different than before. It had caused the pain in his ribs before and now it was caused by the pain of moving about. He looked at Fenris with a bit of sad desperation in his eyes.

((I'm not sure why I put that in there... lol... anyhow, yeah, I have to go now, but I should be on at some point tomorrow, I'll reply then. ))

Fenris

I hurried over to that side of the bed when he looked at me, his expression pleading and helpless and pained. It was horrible. I moved his arm enough to put one of my arms around his back and the other around his chest to keep him stable for now. "I'm going to do it a bit quickly, all right?" I warned, then knelt enough to put my arm under his legs and pull him up into my arms. I kept his back as straight as I could and just walked him over to the room's small bathroom. "I'll set you down and wait outside the door, okay? If you need me, just call for me."

((Okay. Bye! :) ))

Trevor:

After whimpering a little bit as Fenris picked him up, Trevor tightened his fists, feeling a lot of pain, but not wanting to say anything about it. As Fenris sat him down in the bathroom, Trevor looked up at him, "Thank you..." He took care of business and washed his hands quickly, opening the door slowly. He hobbled out in a weird, shuffling way, but was determined to walk this time. His ribs were not hurting nearly as bad as they had before, and although he could not keep any food down at the moment, the doctors were keeping him hydrated and he was feeling a bit better.

Fenris

I looked over at him when he opened the door, but didn't grab him to pick him up this time. He seemed like he was okay upright, so I just kept my hands near his arm in case I needed to catch him and walked slowly with him back to his bed. I had to help him sit down, carefully keeping his spine straight, and arranged the blanket on the bed over his legs when he settled in sitting up again. "Are you all right?" The strain of it was clearly evident in the darkness around his eyes, though that could have still been from malnutrition and a lack of proper rest. "Would you like to sleep a while longer?" The more he slept while we were here, the faster he would heal.

Trevor:

Trying to keep himself from seeming as tired as he really was, Trevor shook his head, "I'm not tired..." Even as he spoke, he was nodding off a bit. It had been days since the last time he slept, but not just because of his past master, but also because Trevor disliked sleep a lot. He was haunted by terrible nightmares for the past and flashbacks to things he never wanted to relive, yet he had no control over it. He tried to fight the tiredness that was overcoming him, but he could feel him eyelids getting heavier and heavier with each breath. He laid on his side facing Fenris, mouth still slightly open from where he had been speaking, still not quiet asleep, but almost there.

(( I'm so sorry, I have to go... ))

Fenris

I smiled faintly when he rolled over to face me and just slipped a hand beneath his so he could feel it. "It's all right, Trevor." I said gently. "Don't worry. I won't leave until you're awake." I could wait a while still before I left to get clothes and toothbrushes and the like. For now, I would just stay with him and help him heal.

((That's okay :) Whenever you come back, did you want to skip at all to when he's better, or just keep going through the healing process?))

Trevor:

At first, he was just in an empty space, but soon the dream, or more nightmare, began to form. The worst part of his dreams were that he had no idea they were not actually happening at that moment. So, in his dreams he had no recollection that he was in a hospital with Fenris, and when Trevor wakes, he spends the first few minutes not knowing where he is.

(( Whatever you want, probably skip unless you don't want to skip ))
