In the End (IC)

Samantha

Sam nodded at Adira's offer, smiling a bit. "Thank you, but it's a very thin chance that she's anywhere close to here. I'd like to hope she is, though." she said, taking a deep breath. She looked down at Ty, who had obviously fainted in all the commotion. "Alright, if you can carry him alone then there's no need for Adira to hurt herself trying." she said, speaking to the russian. It was obvious that the group needed to get moving, so Sam tied her shirt around her waist quickly and gathered hers and Ty's things, making sure not to leave behind any of the boy's things that were scattered across the grass beside him. "We can make it there in ten minutes if we move fast, the apartments aren't that far, but we have to get moving now." she said, replying to Adam's observation. She started to move, hoping that everybody would follow her rather than wait any longer. "Oh, I'm Samantha by the way. You guys can call me Sam though." she said, remembering her manners for the first time.

Cool winds began to blow across the woods, causing Sam's blonde hair to be blown aside as she walked. It was late August, and Summer was beginning to come to a close. If things were normal, she probably would be going shopping for winter clothes soon. Fall, her favorite season, was just around the corner now, but with recent events it seemed more alarming than exciting. Who knew though? Maybe everything would be fixed in a few weeks. Maybe even a few days, possibly hours. Sam had no way of knowing how long it took cures to develop, but she was optimistic. She always had been.

Tess

It was starting to get dark now. As electricity played in and out, Tess set curled up in a ball on the couch with Skye panting desperately at her side. She felt more anxious and paranoid than she ever had before, and every sound was like a near death experiance for her. Tess hadn't bothered to clean up Skye's mess yet, she just needed to sit down for a little bit before she did anything. Her family's death was taking it's toll on her, and even though it had only been hours, her hair was already beginning to fall out. She slid off the couch, and walked over to where Sam's tv stand was. She dug around the movies until she found The Titanic and popped it into the DVD player. She knew it would be hard to watch with the electricity going in and out, but she needed something to calm her nerves.

Tess laid back down on the couch, using the remote to turn the TV on and start the movie, fowarding it through all the previews. The sound of people speaking comforted her, as it was something she had pretty much lost. Before she could get much farther, the power cut out again. Leaving her in the dark a bit longer than it had previously.

Adam

"Alright." said Adam, as he moved towards Ty, with his AK dangling off his neck area. Slings are magical. The kid looks asleep, almost... dead-like.

'Welp. He's dead. Nevermind.' said a voice in his head.

'No. Still alive.' said another voice in retaliation.

'Nuh-uh. Dead.' replied the voice.

'Yuh-uh. Alive.' 'Nuh-uh!' 'Yuh-uh!' 'Nuh-uh!' 'Yuh-huh!' the two voices constantly said.

'Oh for crying out-- SHUT UP! OR ELSE NO POPCORN!' yelled another voice.

Adam slowly picks the kid up, and carries him on his back. "Name's Adam, by the way." said the man. Adam's finally remembered that the people here don't know his name yet.

Andromeda
"Let's get goin' then, chick." Andromeda announced after Sam explained the situation. "We've got a sister to find." She was truly lucky that she still had someone left in the world. Many, many people were alone thanks to this plague, or -- in most cases -- dead. Even before the plague, the only person Andy had was her bastard stepfather. Her mother had died from a great fall on one of her mountain climbing expeditions, leaving a 12-year-old Andromeda to stumble blindly through a cruel, unforgiving world. Still, that experience had shaped her into the woman she was today, and she was grateful for the small amount of time she had her mom.

As everyone began to get up and follow Sam, Andy was snapped out of her memories and jolted back to reality. She knew Jane would still need help, so she stood and pulled her to her feet, allowing her to lean most of her weight on her. Andy looked over at Adira as well, yelling, "Andromeda, by the way!" in her direction.

Adira

Adira moved to help with Jane before they began their journey again. She was pretty sure everyone here hated, her but that didn't really matter. "You're welcome... and I don't care about the journey, I can't just be a sitting duck." She said to Sam. "My name is Adira." She said, since everyone was doing their introductions now. She wondered how the boy was, hoping he wasn't going to die. She had a feeling things were going to get a bit worse before it got better... Maybe they could tote the boy around if they managed to find a vehicle. "Thank you Adam, for carrying him." She said as she turned her caramel gaze back to the male that seemed a little... off mentally. His gaze always seemed to drift off from reality, as if he had voices in his head... but that would just be weird, no way that was possible.

Adira began following Sam to her apartment, hopefully they could make it in decent time, and they could all start getting supplies to make sure they all ate. Adira was starving, despite what was going on, her hunger was gripping at her stomach, making the concussed headache that much worse. She wasn't going to ask though, she was sure if Sam had food where they were going, she would ration it out to everyone.

(I will bring my other chara in at a more opportune moment lol)

Julie

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Julie had just finished applying the gauze and tape to Tyler's shoulder when Adam scooped him up. She followed compliantly behind him, watching as he slipped into unconsciousness. The group introduced themselves one by one, and Julie piped in, "I'm Julie. I never got a chance to introduce myself to most of you in the mall." She tried to keep track of names as they popped up, but she was never very good with names. Faces, yes, but never names.

But this Sam was lucky if her sister was alive. Julie looked away suddenly, fiddling with her own phone a little. She wondered where her father was. If he was alive. If he was dead. If he was turned. She preferred not to think of the last option. Maybe they would run across him on their way to the apartment. He was a smart man; surely he would have found a way to escape the zombies. Maybe he was at home in the basement. Julie knew it was too dangerous to go back, and she bit her lip. She wouldn't mention it yet. But there were a lot of supplies and rations in the basement, too. Their food pantry was stocked with cans of food and water.

I'll say something when we get to Sam's apartment. Julie decided. They'll probably disagree since it's right in the middle of the zombie hoards.

@ Anyone

(Sorry for the late post! Yesterday was super busy for me.)

Kristen watched the others, some were closer together than others. She stood slightly separate from the group as they went around introducing themselves. She picked at her nails. Not really socializing with everyone. After the girl named Julie introduced herself there was a small silence.

"I'm Kristen," she said, her voice sounding oddly loud in the silence. Her parents had told her when the zombie crisis began, not to get attached not to care about anyone. But what the hell did they know, they were dead now.

Samantha

Samantha continued to walk, but smiled at hearing everyone's introductions. The world around her was becoming dark, and she could hear the moans and groans of the Zombies as they travled throughout the woods. She wasn't worried about them though, before she knew it they were out of the woods, and she was digging through her backpack to find her key to open the tall gate that enclosed the complex. She pushed it open wide enough for the group, being careful to wait for them all to enter before she closed it back. "Mine's 4A." She said, hearing the gate click behind her. The parking lot was quiet and empty, as most of her neighbors had apparently fleed the scene. The quiet was good though, it meant they were safe for the time being.

Anxiety pulsed through her body now, in a few moments she would find out her only sister's fate, and that was terrifying for her. Once the group reached her apartment, Sam took a deep breath, hesitating for a split second before she walked in fron to of them, unlocking the door and pushing it open..

Tess

Tess had crawled behind the couch the very moment she heard the front gate to the complex being pulled open. Her movie night had long since became a lost cause, and she had been trying to rest when she heard it. The intruder had no way of knowing she was there though, as she had parked her car in the opposite parking lot to play it safe. She was just taking extra precautions when she hid like she did. All she could hear Skye's paws clicking on the kitchen tile, and could barely make out the sound of footsteps outside of her sister's home. Before she could make sense of it, she heard the front door unlock. She covered her mouth out of fear, and didn't move a muscle. The intruder would surely cause her harm if they found her.

Skye's happy yelps could not be mistaken though, and she heard the dog dance around the kitchen as whoever it was made their way inside. Why would an intruder have a key to unlock the front door? Finally making sense of the situation, Tess jumped up from behind the couch in a hurry, tripping over the sofa before finally making it to the front door, where Skye was joyfully licking her sister's legs. Tess pushed the dog away is a haste and threw her arms around Sam's neck, happy to find that she wasn't alone.

The marine had been passed over as he now noticed the group of civilians marching toward the gate. As the last of them trotted out of the brush, he quietly followed them, and if any of them took notice to him and looked as if about to speak at all, he simply shook his head, finger vertical against his lip. As he slipped in just as the gate was being closed, he never stopped the stealth.

Much as it was a bad time to start a reunion, he smiled. Hopefully not setting off a chain reaction of destruction, he'd say with a whisper, "You should probably do that inside... Still dangerously close to the Facility."

Adam

Adam focused on carrying the now unconscious Ty on his back, struggling to carry him.

'Wimp.' said a voice.

'Hey, shut the eff up, laddy. You know how hard it is to carry an AK and a sweaty teenager? Especially when he's got like, one of those ultra anime tryhard bow and arrow set on his back. The hell's he even doing with a bow and arrow in the zombie age, anyway? I get it, it's for stealth, but... a crowbar is also stealth.' Said one of the particularly special voices in his head. Adam has names for voices like this one. Unlike other voices, they stuck with him, acting as his train of thought and moral compass. This one's Hobart Simpkins, the Cheeky Old Chap. British accent.

'You know, the kid's head is terribly, awwwfullllly close to your neck, man. What if he turns?' one voices suddenly says.

'Oh, God! NECK BITE! NECK BITE!' screamed one voice.

'MY LAWD NECK BITE NECK STUFF! AAAAAAAAHHHHH!' screamed another one.

and the voices kept screaming it, bothering Adam very much.

Adira followed Sam and carried Jane along with Andromeda. It didn't take too long to get to Sam's apartment, and it was the perfect time, the air had a chilly bite to it and the sound of zombies began growing louder, which was the only sound that seemed to fill the air, not even crickets dare chirp. It was just before they entered her apartment that Adira's caramel colored gaze turned to the male that had slipped into their group. She frowned as he placed his finger to his lips to keep her quiet. He didn't seem bad, but she was about to say something when the sound of a puppy made itself known and Sam's sister began hugging her tightly. It stung a bit, to see this. Adira's heart ached, and she felt a lump forming in her throat as tears threatened to make themselves known.

She missed her sister, she wished with all of her heart that she could go back and save her... but that was not possible and this nightmare would continue on. After a few seconds of watching the reunion, Adira couldn't handle it, and she slowly lowered to pull Jane's arm off of her and she made her way back outside, sliding past the rest of them. From what she could tell, there were no zombies right here at the moment, which meant she could just walk away for a minute, collect her thoughts, completely forgetting about the marine that had joined the group.

Adira couldn't deal with what was going on, she felt the warm wet feel of tears sliding down her cheeks as she got away from the others, lifting her hand to wipe them away just as soon as they caressed her face. They weren't welcome, she hated to cry, feeling weak whenever it happened, but she missed her sister, not even wanting to think of her name... Madison... It was like someone squeezed her heart with the thought of it, the pain almost crippling. She was glad that the others didn't see her leave, save for maybe Andromeda and Jane, but they seemed pretty engrossed in the moment. "I miss you." She said on a sob before sinking down to the ground, her hands covering her face as she struggled to fight off the emotions that suddenly consumed her. "Why?" Was all she could muster at that moment... Her arm throbbed, her head ached, her body was sore, but the worst, was the pain within her heart, the breaking feeling that rattles a persons psyche. The night was just beginning, and tomorrow would be a new day, but for right now, she would mourn, she would cry.

Andromeda

Andromeda followed Sam warily into the apartment complex, wincing as the gate screeched shut. There didn't seem to be any zombies wandering around, but anything could be lurking in the shadows cast by the darkening sky. She could see that she apartment doors hung open ominously, and thinking of a runner jumpscaring them caused her to shove past the little reunion and into the apartment.

As she dragged Jane in, she felt the weight of the girl increase as Adira released her other arm and walked out of the apartment. "Adir-" Too late. The girl was out the door. "Damn it, she better not find another fucking zombie to play with." The blonde mumbled, not-so-gently throwing Jane onto the couch. She still needed someone to pop her shoulder back into place, and she was a little tired of being a hero for the day.

"Hey," She said, walking up to Sam and Tess and waving her uninjured arm. "Sorry to be an asshole and break up this cute little reunion, but I really need someone to pop back damn shoulder back into it's socket." Her tone was brash, entirely unlike her sarcastic, humor-driven attitude earlier. She was tired, hungry, injured, and desperately needed to piss, and didn't exactly feel like being nice. With a little rest and relaxation, she'd be back to the Andromeda they all knew and lov-...tolerated.

Julie

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Julie was exhausted by the time they reached the apartment, and scared witless. She hadn't slept at all, and every noise made her jump out of her skin. The creaking of the gate opening drew her slightly closer to the group and she scuttled inside hurriedly before following them up the steps. A jingle of keys. The door swung open, and instead of silence as Julie expected, there was a shuffle of padded, clawed feet and a happy yelp. Julie's eyes flashed from the dog to whom she assumed was Sam's sister as the two flung their arms around each other.

Adira took a deep breath and pushed past Julie on her way out. She held her tongue, her own heart stinging from the reunion. She knew what was going through her mind- family. Her father, somewhere probably by himself. Her brother's mutated body slumped on her own bedroom floor with a gunshot to the back of the head. She shuddered, closed her eyes, and stepped further into the room. Despite the constant stinging in her eyes, she had work to do. Andy complained about popping a dislocated shoulder back into place, but Julie didn't have the strength to do that herself. Instead, she beckoned for Adam to bring Ty over to the couches. Jane had already been lain down. She would start with her first.

Julie set down her bag as the sisters reunited and the others shuffled into the apartment awkwardly. She would worry about food later, but right now she had to treat Jane's leg before it was seriously infected. She was quiet, pushing back thoughts of her own family, as she undid the cloth from Jane's wound and examined it. Julie pulled out her water bottle and a cloth and dabbed at it, cleaning out the dirt and grime. "Sorry," she muttered to the girl, "I know this hurts."

Her father was waiting in the house, Julie was almost certain. She opened her mouth to speak, and closed it again.
Sam just got to her sister. She thought to herself. Don't pull them away to chase after someone who might be already dead. Julie kept treating the wound, tears held back.

Adam

'My my, look at this touching scene. It's almost exactly like a Walking Dead soap opera now. What next, someone has a twin sister who's bitten for a month already and hasn't turned? So we can rip off The Last of Us too?' said one of the voices sarcastically.

'Oi, shut the fock up. You've become so annoying, Joey. You open your mouth one more time and I'll crack your teeth in, eh?' said one of his everlasting voices. This one, is Gerald, the Canuck.

Suddenly, one of the girls tell Adam to lie the kid on his shoulder, Ty, onto the couch.

'Duuuuuuude, check out tha-' the annoying voice, Sean, tried to speak up again.

'SHUT THE FUCK UP SEAN!' said all the voices in unison. Another voice can faintly be heard in the background, saying 'or else no popcorn'.

Adam nods, and walks over to the couch, carefully lying the kid down onto the worn red sofa. Looks quite comfy, to be honest.

Just as the kid is off his shoulders, Adam finally has time to do a checkup on himself. Tired, dehydrated, hungry, and need for toilets are really high. He decides, that the toilet needs solving first. He wouldn't expect plumbing to still be active, though.

Adam intends to go around the house, looking for supplies. He's with the group now. Just so that he doesn't go alone, he tells everyone.

"I'm gonna go around the apartment, look for supplies." He turns to Sam, who's just had her touching family reunion, all soap-opera like. "Do you have any magazines, spare clothes, cloth of any kind?"

Ty felt something soft under him, and he stirred slightly. Opening his eyes slightly, he saw a ceiling and heard talking. He winced as his injuries started aching again, and rolled to lay on his stomach. It lifted the pressure off of his injuries and he lay silent. Too tired to move, he decided to just listen. The others were talking about supplies. For a moment he forgot about the apartment before he remembered everything fully. The mutant....he winced and moved to lay on his right side as his ribs flared in pain. This way the pressure was off of both injuries. He closed his eyes, resting his head on the arm rest. Everything hurt. Fuck zombies, they can die in hell. Who even decided that zombies were a good idea? The walking dead roved it was a bad idea but nooooo, the government didn't care and nor did the guy who made this shit happen. He sighed quietly, trying to relax and fall back asleep.

Samantha

Sam had been caught completely off guard by Tess actually being there, so whenever Tess hugged her, she had a hard time letting her go. She had alot she wanted to say and do, but it would have to wait since her group needed medical help right now. She let go of her sister, and wped the tears away from her eyes, moving so that everyone else could enter the building before she shut the door. There was a man that hadn't been with her previously, and it was a little bit concerning that he just popped up out of nowhere. She smiled and squeezed Tess's shoulder before walking into the kitchen, where she filled a large bowl with water and carried it out to Julie, who was tending to Jane. "I have bandages in the bathroom if you need them, but I thought this would help with cleaning it for now." she said, laying the bowl on the floor beside her. She turned to go, but was stopped by Skye who was making attempts to sneak past her so that she could drink the water. Sam smiled and scooped up the dog, carrying her tot he guest room and shutting her in until it was a better time for her to meet everyone, but for now she would be more of a pest than a joy to the wounded group.

She looked to Adam, "yeah, my dresser is in my room. Second door to the left. " she said, feeling a bit funny about him looking through her personals. She walked over to Andromeda and looked at her shoulder, which was in rough shape. She pulled up a stool from her kitchen and instructed her to sit, "I've never had to do this before, so forgive me if this doesn't work." Sam placed one hand on Andro's upper arm and placed her other hand on the point where it had been dislocated. With a quick motion, Sam slammed the bottom part of her hand into Andromeda's shoulder blade, making contact with her skin and twisting it slightly until she heard a loud pop. That couldn't have felt good.

Tess

Tess was a little disappointed that the reunion was cut short, but she assured herself that they would make up for it later. She watched her sister move around the room assisting people, and decided she should help out a bit too. She decided later would be a better time to figure out what happened to the group, and to figure out where Sam met them. The electricity flickered out again, filling the kitchen and living area with darkness, making it hard for Tess to see anything. She dug through her sister's kitchen drawers until she came across her long lighter, which she then used to go around the apartment and light candles, as well as place a few more in places her sister didn't already have them set out. The apartment was lit up in no time. She took a seat on one of the kitchen chairs and looked around, unsure of what to do next.

Adira cried for some time before she breathed deep, her body trembling causing a shaking noise to be released from her vocal cords. She released the breath and hiccuped. "Okay." She said to herself before she pushed herself back to her feet and wiped her arm across her eyes, getting the tears off of her face. Her heart still hurt, but she knew she needed to deal with her wounds, and that meant she needed to get back inside. Her head seemed to spin from the exhaustion that hit her, the crying didn't help with that at all, plus her concussion probably made her fatigue that much worse as well. "I can do this." She said after a moment of standing there, staring at the edge of the parking lot, though not really paying attention to what she was really looking at. Nothing moved there, but the sound of a zombie was somewhat close, sounding like it was coming from one of the apartments nearby.

With one more deep breath, she made her way back to the apartment, and without thinking, let herself in. She had plans to go through the other apartments for supplies, if they were lucky, they would find some type of backpack for everyone to use so they could pack more. Adira saw Julie tending to Jane, and Sam resetting Andromeda's shoulder. It didn't look pleasant, and she knew that it was going to be a whole other challenge with her own wounds. Ty seemed to be moving a bit, which was good, he wasn't dead, but no one was helping him. Adira had done well in health class, and they even went over some first aid, so she made her way to Julie and spoke softly. "Can I help? I can start working on the boy, at least until you aren't busy any longer?" Adira felt like an idiot, but the last thing she wanted to do was go scavenging in Sam's apartment. She had to focus, even though she still felt like she might break, she needed to put in her help just like everyone else was doing, especially since their wounds were due to her running off like a lunatic.

The Marine leaned against a wall as he saw the others get to work. He wasn't a trained medic, that was for the Navy Corpsmen, but his military pack thankfully was filled with supplies; a few MRE's, a single canteen, and empty magazines that he kept in hope that he'd run into more ammo for his m16. Currently he was down to 15 rounds in one mag, with another round still in the chamber. Safety on, he let the rifle stay slung across his chest.

The man decided to introduce himself. "For what its worth.... Corporal Edward Jackson. I was at the QZ you where all at, got separated from the evacuating forces. Ended up getting nearby the appartment before you guys arrived, was looking for temporary shelter..." He finished his little introduction, scratching at his beard. "What are supplies lookin' like?" he asked, more so to the people not completely occupied.

Andromeda
Andy complied, sitting on the barstool and gritting her teeth as Sam took hold of her arm. She knew it was going to hurt, but her already-purple shoulder would just be worse off if she tensed up, so she tried to stay loose and just let it happen.

As soon as Sam pushed on her shoulder, puting the shoulder into place with a sickening pop, Andromeda couldn't stop the scream that bubbled up from her throat. It was the worst pain she'd felt in a long time, worse than when she popped the damn thing out of place. She gasped for air, suddenly winded, wincing in pain and pulling her shirt off to examine the damage done. As she'd expected, her entire shoulder was bruised a dark, dark purple from the impact with the ground and abuse on her poor arm. She expected it to hurt for a while, but she'd be able to kill zombies with it in a few hours, maybe a day if she didn't leave it alone. "Thanks, Sam." She said, flashing the other shirtless girl a tired grin. "Despite the fact that that hurt really fucking bad, I feel pretty good now." Then, realizing she was now in her bra with mister military and Ty in the room, she pulled a red hoodie from her bag and slipped it over her head. It hurt her shoulder, but at this point she was over it.

Outside, the moon had risen into the sun's place and cloaked the night in shadow and moonlight. It was a bit nostalgic, looking up at it. She remembered staring at it and the stars with her mother on their camping trips all those years ago, and the sky was no different now than it was then. Yet, despite the constancy of the moon, the stars and the sun, everything had turned upside down on Earth. She wondered if it would ever be normal again; camping trips, shopping, blind dates and work. Things she never thought she'd miss, but now she wanted nothing more than to be in some shitty restaurant with a stranger talking about his cat.

"Well, since I'm all patched up, I'm going to see if anyone left anything behind in all these apartments." She grabbed her bag and pickaxe from the counter. "Anyone who wants to join me is welcome. And if I find a zombie and I'm about to die, I'll make sure to scream and warn you." With that, she opened the apartment door and headed deeper into the complex, flashlight in her right -- injured -- hand, and hiking axe in her left.

Julie

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

Julie looked up from her work, blinking back the tears fiercely. Adira had come back into the apartment and was standing near her. "Can I help? I can start working on the boy, at least until you aren't busy any longer?" She asked. Julie was a bit surprised. She expected Adira to mourn a bit longer; Julie would have if she were in Adira's place. Julie gave a curt nod and rummaged in her bag again, pulling out more supplies. Gauze, medical tape, antiseptic, Neosporin, tweezers, cloth. She handed these to Adira.

"Make sure you look in his shoulder for any traces of the bullet before you wrap it. Then clean it out with a little antiseptic and around it with some water. The bite will need Neosporin. Then put the gauze over it." She turned from Adira after giving her another worried glance then to Andy, who had wandered out the door. She was worried about her arm. It should be in a sling, at least for a little bit. Maybe she'd say something when the girl came back.

Julie looked back to Jane. The wound looked much cleaner now. She gently wrapped soft cloth around it and secured it with the medical tape before pressing her thumbs gently to the tape and pressing down. She smoothed across and patted the leg gently, looking up at Jane. "Please be easy on this leg. I'll change your bandages every few hours, but I'll have to find some supplies soon."

Julie cleared her throat as she stood up. "That... That, um, reminds me." She looked away, then back towards the group. "My house is near the middle of town. Near the mall. My dad was a vet, and we kept a lot of supplies in the basement. I- uh- I was thinking we could check there. There's a lot of food! And water! And the basement locks from the inside, and only me and my dad know the code now." Julie had started to fidget. "I-I think it might be a good idea." She muttered finally. As she cast her eyes away again.

Tess

Tess watched the group heal eachother, and couldn't help but be worried for their well being. She had no way of knowingwhat had happened to them, but still she had to wonder. Suddenly, the woman that had been working on the boy her age stood up, and began to speak. She rambled on about her home, and her dad being there. This made Tess tear up a bit, as it was obvious the girl just wanted to go home to her dad, where she would feel safe. Her eyes shifted out the window, where the moon was illuminating up the parking lot, it would be unsafe to go out, but Tess knew the girl's desperation, as she had felt it too. Her eyes turned back into the building and over to her keys that sat on Sam's counter top. "I can take you. To your Dad's I mean. I drove here, but I don't have a whole lot of gas in the tank. I should have enough to make it there and back. We can grab the supplies too, if you want." she said, shrugging her shoulders as if it was nothing.

She had planned to use the remaining gas to take her sister and find shelter elsewhere, but chances are they wouldn't have made it anyways, as she was already on E. The woman in front of her seemed desperate, and Tess had the ability to help her. She could only hope that the group would approve of the short trip.

Samantha

Sam, who had moved to the kitchen to begin cooking a bit of food before the electricity cut back out, listened in on Tess's offer. As if the idea of her underage sister driving her mother's car here in the first place was okay, she was now offering to take Julie somewhere. She turned off the oven and allowed the corn she had been cooking to sit as she leaned over, her elbows pressing hard into the marbel counter top. "Thats ridiculous. Tess, you can't even drive." she said, tossing the idea of Julie finding her Dad aside. The lights flickered off again, dinner would have to wait. "Julie, surely you can wait til morning when we can all come with you right? That should give us time to let Ty's wounds set, and if he's not good by morning we could use the car to move him so he won't be a burden. If we're lucky, there may be another car or two we can take that someone left behind." she said, tilting her head.

Hopefully, Julie could wait. She understood she wanted to see her Dad, but the night time was just too unpredictable and she didn't want anyone getting hurt. The electricity cut back on, and Sam listened to the hum of everything coming to life before she turned back to the stove. She heard Skye let out a single yelp from the back bedroom as if she had been caught off guard by the sudden light.

Adam moved quickly through the apartment, scouring for the things he required. He found the closet, and opened it.

'Adaaam, I didn't know you were
that kind of man, searching a girl's closet, you perv. Mamuchka wouldn't be proud, you know.' Said one of the voices, but Adam has grown to turn a blind eye to this.

He takes ad much clothes that he could carry, and moved on. After a while, he suddenly found himself in the bathroom, holding... What seems to be........ tampons.

Both him,
and his voices, were at a loss of words, which is very rare.

He showed himself back to the group, holding the tampons.

"
Uh.... I found these if any of you, uh.... need them." Adam's cheeks were practically bright red at this point.

Hastily shoving the tampons in his bag, he immediately went to work. The clothes he had found, ripped except for two or three shirts and pants. 'Hope these weren't her favorites.' said a voice, anxiously. He then wrapped them around his arms, legs and other important places and made knots so they wouldn't fall off easily. Extra armor against zombie bites. Sure, he looks like that Stay Puft thing from Ghostbusters, but survivability is worth more than looks.

Adira

Adira probably should have grieved a little longer, but she knew that time wasn't aplenty right now, and there was shit that needed done before they went out scavenging for anything. She forced a smile to Julie with a nod of approval and a "thank you" as she took the supplies, listening to the instruction she had given. Adira struggled to take some with her hurt arm, wincing in pain though she tried to hide it. Her wound may hurt, but Ty was passed out and obviously much worse off. Her gaze shifted to the military man as he explained where he was from, though Adira didn't respond, she listened. He was probably going to be useful to have around.

Adira turned to Andromeda just before making her way to Ty and responded to her announcement about going to look for supplies. "Andromeda, there is an apartment around the north part of the building that has a zombie in it. I could hear it groaning from outside. Be careful." She said before turning to make her way beside Ty. She got on her knees and set all of the supplies on the ground beside her. She would focus on the gunshot wound first and foremost, removing the material that he had wrapped around his wound. The cloth stuck to his skin from the dried blood, making a gross noise. It probably hurt but for now, but she needed to see if the bullet went all the way through. She used the cloth to dab around the wound, taking off what she could with the dry cloth. After doing this, she stood and spoke softly to Ty, "I will be right back, I need to get a bowl of water." She said before she turned and headed toward the kitchen where Sam was, speaking to her sister and Julie about them waiting til morning and Tess not driving.

Adira bit her inner cheek, causing a small bleed to trickle onto her tongue. She didn't even realize how hard she had bitten, but it at least took her mind off of her own sister a little, and kept her from breaking down once again. Hopefully Julie's father was okay, she was a nice girl and seemed more concerned with everyone else... hopefully he was fine. After filling a bowl with water, somewhat warm from the flickering electricity, Adira made her way back to Ty. She soaked the cloth and began dabbing at his wound, moving to look at the back of his shoulder to see if the hole went all the way through.

Rhylen

Rhylen had been traveling all night, seeing some huge monster (Behemoth) and managing to sneak past it without it being aware of her. She was lucky that its attention had been drawn elsewhere, the group of zombies following after whatever it was chasing. The Earth rattled as the beast had run off, allowing her to walk away relatively easily. That didn't mean she didn't have her run ins with other zombies, even a couple runners, but she was quick with her gun. She only had her thirty round clip left in her backpack for her M-16 and maybe 12 rounds left in the clip currently loaded. She was running low, having to shoot quite a few zombies tonight, and despite her goal to find her family, she wasn't going to be able to do that tonight.

Rhylen made her way toward a flickering light, the electricity obviously struggling to keep on yet failing dramatically. It looked like apartments, though a pretty sturdy gate wrapped around it, the tops spiked to keep intruders out. That wasn't going to stop her though. She slid her backpack through the slits along with her rifle and M-16, looking around behind her and through the gate. Inside looked really clear, and if there were zombies she doubted there would be many. She removed her holster to keep it from snagging on the gate and shoved it through with the rest of her stuff before she straightened and grabbed as high as she could. She hauled herself up, moving her hands up to the top around the spiked poles. She was most likely going to end up scratching herself on one of those poles but it was not as bad as being eaten alive.

She used the spiked parts to grip as she pulled herself up, her arm digging into one of them causing her arm to sting, though she finished pulling herself up. She used her lower body to swing it over the top, her back sliding against one of the spikes which hurt like hell causing a gasp to be released and a moan as she flew over the gate and rolled her body in the form of a somersault to keep too much pressure off her body. Rhylen knew what it was like to have injuries and move past them, and that was what she would do right now. She grabbed her supplies quickly, reattaching her holster which housed her twin babies, her .45's, slung her rifle over her back, pulled her backpack on and then grabbed her M-16, holding it ready in case she needed it.

Her emerald hues flew to a flickering light in an apartment and decided not to go to that one just yet, it looked like there were multiple zombies in there judging by the shadows that moved across the window here and there. Apartment 4A, she would have to clear it in the morning after she got some rest. She moved to a different apartment, pulling out her dagger which she wedged between the handle and door jam, until the door released and she pushed it open. "Simple enough." She said as she made her way into the dark room, moving to grab her flashlight out of the side pocket of her backpack. She clicked it on and began moving through the apartment after closing the door behind her, she didn't hear any zombies, it looked like it was safe at the moment, though the apartment next to her had something going on, due to a groaning noise before soft bangs on the wall. It would be fine though, she just needed somewhere to lay her head.

Rhylen moved to sit on one of the couches, a bit firm but better than the floor, where she set her guns on the coffee table and removed her backpack, opening it up to pull out one of her canteens and began sipping at the water slowly, savoring the hydrating liquid and the peace of the apartment.

He woke up, hearing someone move beside him. There was a noise, as the cloth was removed. She left to get water, at least thats what she said. Sure enough Ty hissed in pain as he felt water soaking into the wound. It stung a lot. The bullet had gotten stuck in his shoulder, and it hurt like hell. The scratch had widened the wound, making it harder to reach the bullet itself. He could only lie there and try to be still, flinching a bit as she began to dab at the injury. At least she was trying to be gentle, not just rubbing the cloth on the wound like it was a stain. He didn't bother trying to talk, instead biting his tongue to keep from yelping each time she hit a sensitive spot.

Adam

Adam stood at the ready at the window that led to the outside, where he can access the other apartments, and crowbarred the window open.

"
I'm going scavenging." Was all he said, before he hopped out. 'Eesh, no hug? Not even a kiss goodbye? These people are coooold, maaan. Coooold.' Said one of his voices.

He entered the next apartment, 3A. Mostly empty, looks like the last person who stayed here left in a hurry. Adam however has managed to find an unopened can of tuna. Starving, the man punched a hole on the top with the axe part of his combination tool and sipped directly from the can.

'Wait... something don't f**king smell f**king right.' said Voice Ramsay, a particular voice in his head. Adam thought the same.

'Oh f**knuggets, it's f**king over-f**king-due!' Screamed the voice, and Adam spat it out in a hurry. He poured the tuna all out, and dug another similarly small hole in the bottom of the can and attached the thing to the AK's gun barrel, effectively making it a silencer.

Andromeda
Andy needed to clear her thoughts, clear her head of memories of a time long past. Her mother, life before things went to hell, she didn't want to reflect on that. Sam's reunion had reminded her of everything, and she didn't need that right now. So, she went farther than she'd expected, to the building at the back of the complex. All of these doors were shut, but she could hear a zombie or two inside. She pressed her axe against the nearest doorknob, wrenching it to the side and wincing as the metal tore away and hit the ground.

Inside, she bit her lip and sighed. The corpses of a teenage girl and a young boy lay side-by-side, and a small note was left on the table. "Dear Dad; Jacob got bitten at school today. I didn't know what was happening at first, and when he turned he bit me too. I don't want you to have to kill us, Daddy. I love you, and Jacob loves you. Please, stay safe. Goodbye, Marlene." Upon closer examination, Andromeda could see a gun in the girl's hand. She'd been brave, and it felt wrong to take their things, so Andy turned around and closed the door as best as she could. There were so many stories similar to hers, so many people who shouldn't be dead. So many that had been wrongfully taken by this plague.

As Andy neared the next apartment, she noticed that it had already been opened. This put her on alert, hoping there wasn't some kind of silent ninja mutant zombie hanging out in here, so she pushed open the door and shined her flashlight through the room. "Hello?" She whisper-yelled, moving inside. "Is anyone alive in here? I'll fucking shank you if you're a zombie!"
