In the End (IC)

Adira ran toward the beast, knowing she didn't have much mobility with her left arm, though she could manage with her right. At that, she lifted the machete up high and slashed at the beasts arm, cutting maybe a quarter of the way through his elbow. She was flung backward as the beast threw his hurt arm forward to get her off, though she managed to keep hold of the machete. She hit the ground hard, the hand that held the machete slammed into the ground knocking the machete out of her hand. Adira scrambled to her feet and grabbed her weapon, her head hurt and the world began to spin. She most likely got a bit of a concussion but it was not going to take her down...

She ran as fast as she could once again, the beast roaring as it began toward the boy from earlier. Adira slashed as hard as she could, aiming at the right elbow again, and hit her mark. The machete tore only halfway through his arm, and again, flinging her away. She hit the ground once more, causing her vision to go black, the machete stuck in the beasts arm now. They were screwed, how were they supposed to beat this thing? Her head pounded as she came back to consciousness, lifting her head to look at the others, though the world seemed to spiral around her dangerously.

Jane winced as she used the tree to push herself to her feet, she watched on as the group fought with the hunge mutilated monstrosity. She took a step forward, wincing at the pain in her leg, but she couldnt just stand there and do nothing after the group had come back for her. A sudden burst of bravery came over her. She limped faster towards the beast, ignoring the pain in her leg as best she could. As she approached the beast, it turned its mutilated body towards her, Jane noticed the numerous arrows sticking out of it and then her eyes landed on the machete stuck in it's elbow and the woman lying on the ground, barely conscious. The beast swung at her, Jane nearly lost her footing ducking under it's arm and lunging for the stuck machete, as she grabbed it she used all her weight to pull it down, tearing the beast's arm off. The beast screamed in agony before kicking Jane straight in the stomach, sending her flying several feet backwards, landing on her back. She let out a grunt of pain as she rolled over onto her stomach, crawling for the machete she had dropped mid way through flight.

Ty kicked the zombie off of him, and bashed it's head with his bat. He stood, wincing as spots flickered in his vision. Seeing Jane, and the machete, he picked it up, and helped Jane to her feet. Tyler then ran close to the behemoth, chopping at it's muscled arms, moving quickly and being careful to not get it stuck. One the third strike, it reached bone. The Mutant roared in agony and anger, slamming it's other arm into his chest, with a sickening crunch. Ty hit the tree, and lay on the ground gasping, and clutching his chest fighting to stay conscious. He was fairly sure that a few ribs were broken. Luckily, the other zombies were fascinated currently with Jane, slowly moving toward her, this giving him a chance to recover. He slowly staggered to his feet leaning on the tree for support. Picking up his bow, and grabbing an arrow, he felt like he would die, just trying to pull back the string. Biting his tongue and drawing blood, he fought through it and sent a few arrows hitting the zombies nearest to Jane, but fell to his knees in pain before they were all dead.

Samantha

"Thanks." Sam mumbled between labored breaths. She hardly knew how to work a gun, but now was a good time to learn, seeing how big of a target she had. She switched the safety off as she was told, and began to shoot. The first three shots were a miss, but she had finally got a good shot at his neck, and that's where she decided to keep shooting. It seemed like everyone was fighting now, and that gave her enough courage to keep on. She made the quick decision now to help the girl that she had previously been chasing after, and shot at the spot on the creature that she had begun to slice through. The girl was quickly flung aside though, giving Sam cause to be concerned about her safety. She watched Ty get thrown as well, and began to feel really small. Other Zombies were beginning to emerge from the woods around her and the group, and she could see the others struggling to fight them and the large creature at the same time. C'mon Sam, you can do this. She waited until the behemoth had turned his focus to one of the other group members and aimed her gun at his tiny head, she took a few deep breaths and bit her lip before taking the shot that had been given to her.

Suprisingly, the bullet went right where it was supposed to. Apparently, Ty's arrows had weakened the skull just enough for her shot to work. The behemoth rocked on his weakened arms a few moments before finally falling foward, taking down a few other Zombies and nearly crushing Jane in the process. Sam couldn't help but smile before running over to Ty's aid, shooting at a few of the closer zombies before kneeling down by his side. "Can you move?" she asked, looking at the terrible state the younger boy was in. If he couldn't, Sam wasn't sure what she could do for him, as even despite his age he was bigger than her. Sam had always been a small girl.

Crack Jane lay there, right beneath the beast as it swayed on the spot as a bullet pierced it's skull, suddenly it started to fall forward, right towards Jane, she screamed as she rolled to the side, barely missing the crushing weight of the beast, merely by inches. She pushed herself to her feet, to add to her injuries she now had bruises on her face and stomach. She winced as she stood upright "We have to get out of here!" She yelled to anyone who would listen as more zombies seemed to pour out of the forest, soon they would be overwelmed and then they'd all die. Jane backed away from the oncoming zombies, as she now had no weapon. She picked up a nearby, rather large rock, holding it above her head as the zombies moved closer to her.

Tyler nodded, gritting his teeth. "L-let's just get out of here.." He struggled to his feet, biting back yelps of pain. "Hey, Jane needs some help."

They needed to leave, but he was in no shape to run anywhere. He'd pass out before getting 5 feet. The most he could do was walk. He pulled back another few arrows, firing. After only a few shots, he was breathing heavily from pain. Shaking his head, he cleared the spots from his vision and took aim for another zombie.

Andromeda
As the others attacked, the beast got angrier and more violent. It knocked Tyler, Adira and Jane away, but not before the three could do some serious damage to one of it's massive arms. Meanwhile, she heard Sam putting the pistol to good use, firing shots at the giant as it began to falter from the damage to it's arm. It suddenly reared around to take out Sam, and Andy screamed in pain as she was thrown off of the monster's back. Not because she hit the ground, but because her hand had still been in the drawstring tied to her axe. When she'd fallen, the axe had been torn from the all-muscle back of the monster by her arm alone. She'd dislocated her shoulder, and possibly even fractured her wrist.

As Andy gritted her teeth, growling through the pain, she saw Sam desperately fire one more bullet, and saw that same bullet tear through the mutated zombie's skull. "Nice!" She yelled, still winded from the fall. She, of course, was one of the least harmed of those there, and didn't forget the fact. She forced herself to stand up, and jogged over to Jane. Zombies were currently encroaching on the girl, and she was much too injured to help herself. Tyler seemed pretty banged up too, as well as Adira, but Sam and Julie were -- for the most part -- fine. Using her good arm, Andy embedded her axe in the heads of the closest zombies before switching to her other hand and dragged the girl to her feet. "Help me out here, ok?" She muttered through gritted teeth. She couldn't swing her axe now. She could only help Jane hobble away and scream at Sam, "Bring us to your apartment, now! Before we all die!"

@Lonelytaco @Otakubeats @SuperSpice @Mina

Adira pushed herself up to a sitting position, gritting her teeth as the pain stabbed her brain. She had a concussion for sure, but that wasn't important right now. Not like she could do anything about it. She must have missed a bit of the battle, because now, the large beast was down and the zombies were circling the girl that the others were trying to tote along, but Adira's machete was now near the girl. She moved forward, and helped Andromeda with Jane, wrapping her arm around Adira's shoulder and helping them walk after having grabbed her machete. Her left arm throbbed, but she managed to ignore it as much as possible. The only thing she was worried about now, was getting the others to safety.

"I am sorry." Adira said with a shamed tone. While it wasn't completely her fault, since the only reason she came back this way was to help the others, but it still was mainly her fault. She picked up pace heading in the direction that the other girl was taking her, turning to make sure the others were following. Her vision blurred slightly but she kept moving. The zombies were few now, so it was at least easier to get away, not to mention they were slow.

Sam stayed close by Ty's side, shooting Zombie's that blocked their path as they ran to Jane's aid. There was a steady flow of Zombies making their way out of the woods now, which made it difficult to keep them from touch her, Ty, and Jane. Before she knew it, someone had hekped Jane to her feet and was now making her way away from the growing hoards of zombies that were surrounding them. She held Ty's arm tightly and began to run to catch up with everyone else so that they didn't get left behind. She knew they probably wouldn't leave them, as Sam was the only one that knew which direction they needed to go in. She shot at a few Zombie's that got in their way, but for the most part they caught up with the others pretty quickly.

"We better get there before another big guy show up. I don't think we could take any more suprises." she said, mumbing the last part quietly. She wondered if her apartment had already lost power. She sure hoped not, as she would love nothing more than to feel the air on her full force. "I have a few things that we can use to bandage everyone up with, but mainly I think they need rest. I have a pull out couch and a bed." she said, talking to Andromeda.

Tess

They were dead. They were all dead, and Tess knew it. Even before she saw Sam's car missing from the front of her aprtment, she knew it. Tess threw her head into the steering wheel, causing the car's horn to sound, covering up the sound of her sobbing. Coming here had been her last hope, as her parent's had been brutally murdered by the soldiers. The soldiers that came in to protect them from the dangerous outside force. She barely even made it by. Had she not been good to the soldiers she probably would be dead too. In a way, she was lucky, but she didn't feel to lucky right now. She pulled her key's from the ignition and walked up to the front door of Sam's, quickly finding the spare key her sister had given her and unlocking the door.

These are the first things she saw: Stuffing, couch cusions, toilet paper, and a very anxious Skye running around the house with her sister's panties in her mouth. Tess closed the door behind her and covered her mouth with her hand, choking up on her own tears as the small dog ran to her feet, wiggling it's whole body with excitement. She took only a second to remove the underwear from her mouth before kneeling down to the dog's height and clinging to her tightly. The idea that she wasn't completly alone anymore both comforted her and frightened her, what was she going to do with a dog to take care of? Where would she go? The dog did not hesitate to slide from between Tess's arms and practically dance around the kitchen, happy that someone she knew had come to her rescue.

Ty remained silent, letting her guide him. He focused on staying awake and moving. His mind had gone blank, and he was simply moving. He heard Sam's words but didn't really register them. His mind was a mess of pain and void. There wasn't much he could do. He was vaguely aware of what was going on but it was like watching a tv screen with pillows in your ears. Everything was a bit muffled, and sounding off. He was tired, hurt and felt sick. The zombie's scratch must have already become infected, medically not as in turning. Still, he kept his head low and just trailed behind Sam, led by her grip.

Kristen walked through the woods to rejoin the group. She had gotten distracted by signs of smoke. Thinking it could be another group of survivors she had gone to check it out. Unfortunately, all she had found was a stomped out fire.

She saw that the group had run into some kind of zombie, she felt bad that she had left them to fend for their own. She knew she probably wouldn't have been much more help. But an extra sword was always nice when it came to zombies.

"Get these to the base. They need to know that this girl may have the blood we need to cure this, and then they need to find her." A bloodied doctor held out a package to a government official who'd come to the mall to check on progress. The man nodded solemnly, then put a bullet in the doctor's head.

The official had been horrified to find nothing other than a massacre and an enormous zombie horde where the safe haven once existed. A team was told to fight their way to the medical center and find the blood data, and they succeeded after finding Dr. Armin. He was bitten, but he'd managed to save the data they needed. Once they got back, government patrols would be sent around to find her, or contain any zombie who looked like her. They didn't need her alive to harvest her blood, after all.

(Spoiler: It's not Andromeda. xD In case you were wondering.)

Andromeda
Andy nodded her thanks at Adira as she helped Jane along. She was tired, but she was determined not to die -- or undie, for that matter -- today. "It's not your fault," she said, glancing over at her. "Those things have noses like dogs. They probably smelt you before you even saw them." She knew that it was technically Adira's fault, but there was no need to make the girl feel bad about it.

As the group escaped the trees, the zombies slowly disappeared from view and became disinterested in their running meal. They opted to instead just mill around the behemoth's body, waiting for another survivor or two to come through.

"Sounds good. I hope you have water and air, because I'll be pissed if you don't." The blonde grinned slightly, only being half serious. Air and water, maybe even a nice bath, would be nice, but she liked Sam. So far, the girl had been both useful, and pretty chill. Honestly, she liked everyone in their little motley crew. Tyler was little...high-strung for someone his age, but he was still pretty cool in her book. So far, that is.

Adira looked at Andromeda with a frown. "It IS my fault, lets not be coy or beat around the bush. I freaked and ran, I didn't think it through, I didn't even know those things existed." She said as they continued down the path following Sam now. "My name is Adira by the way." She said to both Jane and Adromeda, trying to calm her own nerves. Her head felt like it was splitting open, it throbbed uncontrollably. She wished she had some type of pain killer but that wasn't real likely to happen anytime soon. Fatigue was starting to kick in, but she kept pushing.

This had to be a nightmare, it was the only thing that made sense. Adira felt like she was losing her mind, like she was going to wake up in her peaceful nightmare of her original life. Drunken parents that beat each other on a regular basis, that sounded like heaven compared to what was going on right now. Hopefully a little conversation would be what she needed to calm her mind.

'Way to go, "hero". You were real helpful back there. Really appreciate that. Especially when you had that AK of yours, yeah? Yeah, you could've used that against that big fat zombie thing demolishing everyone else in your group, but nooooo, you just didn't have enough cardio, or enough BRAIN CELLS, TO USE IT PROPERLY! WAY TO GO, ADAM!' screeched the voice in his head, but he grudgingly ignores this voice for the most part. He had been on the outside of the fighting, fending off himself with the combination tool. He had exerted too much force chasing down the girl, and is paying the price dearly. He did have some close encounters, but he made it out alright.

Turns out, the group killed the big bad monster, and had taken flight. Adam swiftly ran after them, albeit quietly, listening to their conversations, planning out what to do next. It hadn't occurred to him yet that he should at least introduce his name.

Ty stumbled and fell onto his knees out of Sam's grip. He was pale and breathing shakily. At the pace Sam had forced him to run, he had began losing blood faster, until it eventually made the world spin. The wound on his shoulder ached and burned intensely, like someone had struck it with a hot iron. He stayed on the ground, trying to get the world back in focus. And why was everything cold... Ty shook his head, forcing himself to remain conscious. This was something he could do, however after their little escapade he couldn't move. His body was too exhausted and battered. So, instead he focused on trying to steady his breathing, no matter how much deep breaths hurt right now.

Julie

Julie fired her pellets against the zombies skin. They fell uselessly to the ground, surrounding its arms and shrunken legs with small dots of copper. She was relieved when the team started attacking together, hacking and slicing at the beast. A bullet pierced the zombie's head, and Julie winced slightly, but continued firing. But before her second shot had even fired, the zombie had already started swaying forward. It collapsed in a jumble, blood seeping into the grass and dirt around it.

Julie took stock of the damage. Scratches, bruises, a deep cut on Tyler and probably a concussion. Andy seemed to have an injured shoulder or arm. But Sam- the navigator- seemed to be mostly in shape and started to lead them as quickly as she could towards their apartment. The injured limped along, with Julie taking a position somewhere in the middle. She cast a glance over her shoulder. The Russian man seemed to be following them.
Good, she thought, that's one more person safe. Safe was a loose word, of course.

The walk out of the forest was long and strung out. Whispered conversations ensued. The zombie attack still fresh in her mind, Julie almost didn't notice Tyler fall to the ground. She was startled back to reality and jogged forward to lean next to him. "Are you alright?" She tugged her water bottle from her bag and offered it to him before quietly examining the bullet wound from before. "Guys, I need to patch up his shoulder really quick. He's already lost a lot of blood." She started pulling supplies from her bag and ripped gauze from a roll, as well as sticky, medical tape. "It might hurt a little, okay?"

Adam

Adam continued trailing behind the group of people, warily watching his surroundings, and most importantly, for anything following him.

'Them, goddammit. Them. You're not alone in the fricking woods, for Christ's sake, THEM!' yelled the voice in his head. Some days Adam just wished he was a plant. At least he wouldn't have these voices in his head. Sometimes, he just feels like these things would've faded away peacefully since--

'Oh, great. Here we go, a backstory. Really, Adam? It makes no sense for you to just randomly go "hurr durr I've had this happen to me hundreds of times lemme remember the first time I had it, JUST FOR LULZ HEHE". Really. No sense at all.' said the voice again. Adam just ignores it, albeit grudgingly. It's as if they're a bunch of noisy douchebags in a cinema theater, or a really salty YouTube commenter, or just a bunch of guys who are--

'Hey, hey! We're in your head, Mr. "I have a bunch of douchebags in my head". Careful what you say to us.' The voice said.

'Yeah! Represent! Whooooo!' yelled another voice in his head.

'Uhhh, guys, something's happened up front.' Said one of the shy voices.

Adam looks forward. Someone just dropped to the ground. It's the 15 year old kid. Apparently, the kid calls himself Ty. The girl who chased after that navigator with him earlier rushed to Ty's side. Adam thinks he caught her name too: Julie.

'Interesting, interesting. It's like that awkward anime movie shit now, too. As if we weren't f'ed enough.' said a voice in his head.

'Hey, Vince, pass me the popcorn, you asshole! You're hoggin' all the food!' said a voice in the background of this 'mental theater' in Adam's head. Adam spins around, facing the back, while getting closer to the group, keeping watch.

Ty took a minute to react. He nodded, and sipped some of the water. The wound was a sickly color, both the bullet and scratch in the same spot, making it worse. She talked again, and it sounded a bit far away, like in a tunnel. He nodded to whatever she had said, too tired to really care what it was. He capped the water, and put it on the ground, just sort of looking at it. His mind wandered to how he'd learned to fight. Long before joining haven with his family, they'd traveled from up north. They had refused to give him and his younger brother, Cole, any weapons. This had ultimately led to Cole's turning one night as they fled. They hadn't looked back, just running. They grieved for him later, and his father began to quickly teach him how to survive in this kind of situation. He went as far as leaving him outside of an abandoned cabin they'd camped in for that whole night, standing guard with his bow and baseball bat. Fear was a weapon, used to kill the creatures, to run and climb up trees escaping runners long enough to shoot them back. Tyler blinked, slowly coming back into the present time, and out of his memories. His mind was still foggy, fatigue and pain exhausting him. He stayed still, letting Julie do what she needed too, even though he had no idea what she said she needed to do.

@Everyone (YA I MADE A DECENTLY DETAILED POST)

Kristen watched the group, everybody looked a little banged up in some way. No one seemed to be perfectly fine. She noticed that many of them seemed to be staring at the ground thinking in some capacity about what had just happened. Kristen looked around them, the air was quiet but it still seemed that there was something out there. But, Kristen had felt like that since the moment she had heard about the zombies.

"Are we settling here for tonight?" She asked to no one in particular, hoping at least one person would hear her and answer.

Andromeda
Finally safe, Andromeda gently lowered Jane to the ground and knelt beside her. She wasn't as experienced as Julie, not by a long shot, but she knew enough to patch the teen up. Blood still ran down her leg from the injury on the fire escape, but less than in the beginning. She certainly hadn't helped herself by attacking the zombie. "I can take care of this. I think I have an old gym towel in here, and a bottle of vodka." After saying that, she giggled slightly and pulled the two items out of her bag. "I had planned on getting drunk."

As Julie began to patch Tyler up, Andromeda poured the bottle of liquor on Jane's wound without warning. Blood immediately began to retaliate, flowing out once more, but it was quickly staunched as Andy tied her towel tightly around the injury. "Sorry if that stung a little, but at least it won't get infected or anything now." She didn't want to say that using her alcohol on the girl had been a waste, but she'd really been looking forward to a drink.

The blonde stood up, leaving Jane to rest, and sighed, wincing as she touched her shoulder. It was definitely dislocated, but at least her wrist felt fine, decorated with just a bruise. Others, like Tyler and Jane, were worse off, and others still, Julie, AK, and the ninja girl, were almost perfectly fine. "Are we settling here for the night?" The ninja girl asked, looking the group over. Andromeda turned to her with a half grin, shaking her head. "I sure as hell hope not. Our navigator over there has an apartment near here, so that's our goal right now. I'd rather not get chewed on in my sleep out here..." Despite her general joking manner, Andy really didn't like the idea of staying in a zombie-infested forest all night. Hopefully, it would just be "real quick," as Julie had said, and then they'd be off.

Samantha

Sam took advantage of the situation and sat down on the ground, sliding off her bloody T-shirt so that all she was wearing was her sports bra. Her backpack was drenched in sweat, and she was pretty sure oneof her water bottles had busted inside. She dug around until she found the source of the leak, and finished it off before tossing the empty bottle aside. In the distnace, she could already make out the higher apartments that belonged to her complex, which was obviously a good sign. She pointed up towards it, "Not much longer now.". The idea of staying outside at night was scary even for her, and she could already see sunset beginning on the horizon. Julie seemed to be taking good care of Ty, but she hoped she got it done quickly. Her plan was to steak out at her apartment for the night, then move on tomorrow. Hopefully with her new "friends".

Sam's lower body ached from being tossed earlier, and she had to adjust herself so that she didn't sit on any of her injured spots. Other than being sore and bruised, Samantha was fine. Her arms were brown with dirt, and her hair lay a messy clump off of her shoulders. She didn't really care anymore though, she survived. Three hours ago she had never touched one of the dead, now she had killed more than one. She pulled her cellphone out of her backpocket, where it had been sitting all along and searched for any messages. To her suprise, there were 14 missed calls and countless texts, all from her sister, Tess.

Sam jumped up from her spot on the ground and attempted to call her, only to find that the line had already been cut. She assumed that meant that her phone was useless now. Worry washed over her again, a bit frightened to see that Tess had been texting her from the highway. That couldn't be safe. She had no way of knowing if she had made it to her destination or not. She bit her lip, stuffing her phone back in her pocket quickly before looking at her wounded groupies. "Not to rush, but I think my sister may be alive and I'd like to find out, so if it's possible, can any of us carry him?" she asked, mainly aiming her question at the russian who had magically made a reappaearance.

Adira didn't get her introduction as she had hoped, but everyone was injured, so now wasn't the time for conversation, far too much was going on right now. She simply sat Jane down with the other girl and sat down as well, lifting her hand to rub her head. She felt the sticky feeling in her light brown hair, most likely blood, and the feel of dirt and twigs ran down her hair. Her pony tail was more of a mess than anything, so she pulled the hair tie out of her hair, allowing her tendrils to fall around her shoulders and down her back, the middle kinked slightly from the hair tie though the rest was relatively straight. There was no point on checking her left shoulder, it throbbed like a bitch but right now, there was nothing she could do for it.

Her head turned to the girl that had saved her as she talked about her sister and she pushed herself to her feet. "We can all keep going, I have one good arm I can use to at least help carry maybe his legs if I tuck them between my waist and arm... as long as someone else carries his top half, he isn't very big so I am sure I can help." She said. Adira knew that right now, she was going to have to pull the extra weight, their injuries were her fault after all. She had never had to help anyone else like this, save for her sister... but even then, obviously she hadn't been there for her. "I will help you if you want, to find your sister. I know I messed up, but I won't make the same mistake." Adira spoke to Sam, moving toward Ty. She was desperate to do something with her time, she was never very good at sitting still for long.

'Yoooo, duuuuuude, check out that girl who just took her shirt off. Hooooot, duuuuude.' said one of the really obnoxious voices in Adam's head.

'No. Stop. This ain't the time for this, Sean.' retaliated another voice.

'Brooo, you wanna pick a fiiight, maaan?' replied the obnoxious one.

And then, that all devolved into just a yelling contest. Right when someone's asking someone, most likely Adam, about... some thing.

Thankfully, the voices do stop, allowing Adam to hear. It's the girl. Says her sister's still alive.

'Duuuuuude, she's got a siiiister?' said the obnoxious voice again.

'GODDAMMIT SEAN! SHUT UP!' yelled two or three voices in unison.

'YEAH, I'M TRYING TO ENJOY THIS SOAP OPERA HERE!' exclaimed another voice, followed by the sound of crunching popcorn.

The girl wants someone to carry Ty. Adam can do that. Sure. Adam also notices, thanks to the girl tampering with the phone, that the lines have been cut. Exactly why he didn't bring one. With zombies out in the wild, a phone won't mean anything, and recharging it will be a hell and a half. That and because he's just really really old-fashioned.

"Yeah, I can carry him if we need to move." Adam opens up, finally. The sun is setting, and it's setting fast. Adam quickly attempts to measure it, and holds out his fingers horizontally, to measure the approximate time before it sets. The measurements are alarming. The sun is only 3/4 a finger away from setting. He turns around to the rest of the group, and speaks loudly, loud enough so that everyone can hear him.

"Better move fast, we've only got about 10 minutes before it goes dark." With worry in his words.

Ty heard mumbling, but instead of muffled words it was just whispering. He was struggling to remain conscious and alert, but his mind kept trying to lure him down into the depths of sleep. The weirdest thing was the voices, he couldn't her the words but their voices were recognizable. Just not wanting to give a shit anymore, he let his body go limp, falling onto the ground from where he sat. The familiar comfort of sleep easily trickled in and everything fell quiet. However, as his mind retreated back into the dark voids of exhaustion his body let out a shudder. The infected wound had started to basically attack him from the inside out. It wasn't a turning, but it was painful. Even though in the moment he could not feel it, his body was in immense pain as it naturally tried to ward off the infection.

@Everyone

Edward crouched quietly as he moved through the forest brush. He held in what pain he had, as his escape did not go perfectly. During the breach, he'd been on the front line of the defense with his patrol, and the creature with arms bigger than his torso had slammed him back. He had bruises all over, but thankfully nothing was broken. A miracle that he hadn't even been bitten. Another man, a local Police Officer, had pulled him out and they'd attempted to make sure as many people could escape as possible. Even with the few volunteer workers, they where easily overrun, the mutant doing the most damage as it crippled and maimed, leaving those injured easy lunch for the Sicko's.

With no way to contact command, and having been separated from the main force by a flanking horde, he too had been forced to seek the stealth of the forest, military training kicking in as he moved as quiet as he could, intended to find easy shelter somewhere. He'd never encountered or heard the other group, preferring to stay away from the mutant. In fact, to be near the Apartment buildings they where after, which he happened to be near, was luck on its own; for both him and them.
