WolfSol WolfSol Awesome, thanks for the news! Looks like that's another bookmarked tab for me to use! ^_^

Also, gonna continue work on that second Character Sheet (the one for Sukia) while they (Leo and Sukia) continue waiting in line outside of Kakariko Village... might even write a song for Leo to sing, as well! We could make 'em the new Kass, or something like that! ^_^

... Besides, who wouldn't trust this face, eh?

"They say a lot of the Ladies enjoy it when I wink at 'em while Speaking in Tongues..."

... I Should probably mention that there's 2 ways how he can play his instrument: Songs and Requiems. Songs are, pretty much, Words Without Works - Basically what he plays on a regular basis inside the Taverns to make Rupees from. He speaks normally when playing them. Requiems, however, are Magic Words that, upon playing, cause his hand to glow the way it does in the pic. Requiems are basically "Songs of the Dead" in a sense that they are often played in Funerals in Roman Catholic Churches. However, I like to think of it as his way of "Channeling the Spirits" to manipulate the area around him... basically calling forth Farore's People to act based on the songs of his choosing. He speaks in "Old Hyrulean" while conducting Requiems, of which he's learned through some of his Grandfather's old books... however, he only knows them by Words and Effects, and not entirely by Meanings or Phrases, aside from what they do in his Requiems. As such, he may often be studying those old books so that he may further expand his Arsenal of Magic... at least, during his spare time. But he would only partially understand what the Disciples say when they speak it.

On another note entirely, I love how you named Sukia "The Fierce Fokka". xD

I can see the puns in that one. She kicks some arse, then some guy off-screen shouts, "Whew! That's one Fierce Fokka, ain't she?!"

She's over by Kakariko Village. She's the one carrying the big sword. Can't miss her, as she kinda sticks out like a sore thumb.

Just to put in my 4 pessimistic halfpennies, I think dice systems are a double edged sword. They can work really well to definitively let people know who should win a situation or add in some much needed variation to character aptitudes, but they can equally cause worse problems if not very meticulously balanced.

If all you're adding is a strait die roll (I roll 1d20 + you roll 1d20) then it will fail to take character skills into account. This can result in weird situations that break tone, or worse, like Ganondorf auto-failing to curb-stomp a small bunny and then the bunny auto-succeeding it's cuteness charm roll on Ganondorf, forcing him to pause his evil plans to snuggle a fluffy bunny. Hilarious and whimsical, but if that's not the tone of the RP then it's bad for the story. It can also risk making people's character skills feel invalid (no one is good or bad at anything, everything is just a coin toss).

If you do give bonuses based off character skills then you have to worry about balancing and the scope of what needs to be rolled. Do you want to only roll combats skills? What about the less combat focused characters? Should social rolls happen too, like trying to lie to each other or seduce someone? And since you're in the business now of giving advantages to some people for certain things and not others, how do you make sure you're not giving too much of a bonus to one person or another? What if the system you create has an inherent exploit someone can use? These are all things to consider, but they can turn what was just going to be something simple into a massive complex system. There's a reason pen and paper rpgs take years to develop with entire teams working on them (and they still end up full of flaws).

If you don't use dice rolls, you always have to worry about power players. The best you can do is trust your players, but when you do get one it'll take a confrontation, sometimes in a way that can seem personal, to try and stop it from happening anymore, or in the first place. No one likes being in that situation.

ithinkcat ithinkcat Referring to the Ganon vs. bunny, the dice roll outcomes would continue to relate to the story of the RP, and not stray from it to the point of silliness. Personally, I've been in DnD campaigns, and we only got stupidly silly because we had a rather X-rated ogre half-breed who liked to mess up our plans and roll constant failures and act like his intelligence was -5 when in fact he was the smartest in our group. Was rather annoying and the DM let it continue... but either way I haven't exactly decided as I'm curious to see how this all continues after seeing all current posts. So far everyone is holding up their end well, and no one has stepped on anyone's toes or went all Leroy Jenkins. Of course, we've just started so you never know. I will slap the first user who does end up going against all of that with a cat and then proceed to throw water on said cat. Myself included in such punishment.

The Fabulous Emerald The Fabulous Emerald Dice Rolls used to display. There was a function/feature on forums. There is a thread category for Roleplays that survive off dice rolls so I'm not sure if they have found the Dice Roll feature or are using a simulator online. I would like to think that everyone here is mature enough to not lie over a silly die, but you never know!

NothingFancy NothingFancy I'm really looking forward to your reply. Let me know if you want any extra insight on Urooa's plan (though I suspect it will not go according to plan ;3:) or if you want to work something out together.

Perfect! Since I have the weekend off, I am planning on writing a bit later today, I will most likely pm you what I'm thinking, and you can let me know what you like or what should be changed or whateves :3

At the moment I'm just waiting for the next IC Day to pass, so that Leo and Suki can finally reach Hyrule Castle Town! xD

Personally, I'm more of a Burrito guy... but my love for Sushi and other bits of Chinese Food shall never cease!

On another note, WHEN THE HECK ARE WE GONNA CONTINUE WITH THIS?! :O
