[In Iron Halls] OOC

1)Does anyone not have GSC going?

2)G, do you explicitly invite Little Squeak aboard? If so, please post the words. That socialize roll when you met him lets you know LS is operating under very specific tribal laws, and relatively trivial matters are very important.

Edit: Actually, roll Int + Occult

3)X, you must commit 10m of essence to use the tweezers.

4)R, Wits + Sail at diff four please. Half that with Salty Dog Method.

1) Kana does not have GCS going. She is using uber climbing/wall running for 5 actions which I'm hoping is enough to get to the Achmed and meybe get it going, if not it can be activated again.

4) incoming!

Jonathan also doesn't have GCS. 3 successes on Int + Occult roll: http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3368699/ . Excited to see what's breaking free, but hoping seriously I'll be safely on the ship when it does. Will post to invite Little Squeak aboard formally after you say what I rolled for - if Jonathan noticed something useful, I'll put that and the invitation into the same post to save a little space.

Edit: In other news, did we officially lose another player, or did you just decide that more was merrier? I saw the post in the recruitment thread.

Reaver hasn't been around in almost a month and hasn't said anything that I know. If he reappears, he can dive right back in. Otherwise, with him we're still at four, and I mentioned before I'd like five. For a while I was holding off, wanting to get things rolling, but as we seem to be getting a head of steam under us, it seemed like time to reopen things.

Feantari: Would you add a link in your character writeup to the Ebon Shadow rewrite you're using? Or tell me where it is if I'm just being blind?

G: [Dex or Wits] + [Dodge or Athletics] please, for no GCS.

Edit: Also, you think LS is following a series of taboos. You don't know enough about the Silver Pact to know what that implies (and I'm changing things anyway), but can expect him to act somewhat odd.

You do know that exact phrasing is quite important right now. This is significant if you want to grant him conditional access to the ship. In theory, the only limitation is that whatever condition you apply will only matter either now, before he gets on, or when he's actually on the ship.

It's in the recruitment thread, but I will totally link it on my char sheet so it is not crazy to find.

Also, I was wondering, I have a charm called Craftman Needs No Tools...
Why didn't we try that before? oO
Because you'd get cooked if you tried to get close enough to use your hands as tools. These tweezers are much larger than the normal variety. :-P

Kana used craftsman needs no tools to build the tweezers since there weren't tools handy, but we'd end up worse than AICA if we tried to wander into that fire, or at least Kana would.

Yeah.

I was still stuck to the 1ed where you actually summon tools.

Plus, it can be used for crafting, and I don't think plucking qualifies.

Also recall directly hitting the pole with essence is an insta-kill. Since the leaves are directional, they can be used like mirrors to reflect the fire back.

G: I edtted in an answer to your previous question in a previous post.

F: you'll need to make the wits or dex + dodge or athletics roll as well. It covers getting to the ship.

This was just perfect...

Just a quick post for those people who didn't know the forum was back up. Hopefully subscriptions didn't break - maybe this'll let people know...

I'm back. I'm probably not going to post anything until this weekend due to be sure everyone else is alive again. Also, I've got a super busy week.

Anyway,

X: As soon as Ganya plucks the last leaf, the pole's going to grow in all directions. While you can perfect out of the stuff near you, it will also grow beyond you, so you're going to wind up trapped. You need an escape plan before hand. (I guess you could also make a heroic sacrifice, but that seems sort of silly this early in the game.)

Hmm, so, rocket jumping probably isn't a great solution, but, we could try to do soemthing like chain + gas bag or some other method of getting a good vertical force...

I'd like to attempt to gauge the creature that burst from the ground. I'm not sure Medicine stretches that far, but I'm not at bad at Occult or Lore either. Just let me know - if it's something I have an Excellency for, I'll probably be using it.

Mostly I want to know whether the fire is likely to be magical enough as to be unhealable (read: aggravated) and whether it's armored or just really tough (whether it's soak is primarily natural or armor soak). I'm holding out hope that we'll be able to avoid fighting the creature, but knowing ahead of time will make it easier if the Achmed ends up in its tendrils.

In the meantime, I'm working on thinking up a way to get Ganya out as soon as she manages to get that last leaf, in case no one comes up with anything better than what I can dredge up :P

I have an idea for that.

I'll post soon.

Guys, be patient, right now I have veeery little time.

Just to be sure we're clear, the shoggoth is the size of a building. And none of these wimpy ten story buildings. No, it's a big SOB. If you guys want to start blasting away, you'll need much bigger guns than you have now.
