[In Iron Halls] OOC

*sigh* no one else seems to have a way to stop it. And letting a creature that seems to feed on fire reach a solid cinder cloud and fly off with it just DOESN'T seem to be a good idea. I'm just picturing this thing riding its new flying fire cloud around, oozing its flaming self down onto burnable villages and then spurting back to the cloud. Maybe someone WILL have a way handy to rescue me... I'm going to stop it.

In unrelated questions, if a character dies off, will you give their player the first chance at re-joining with a new concept before you open recruitment to fill the slot? Not that I'm expecting to die or anything... I have a monster soak and regenerative abilities, surely I can survive a fall from the clouds into an Elemental Pole while grappling a flaming behemoth that really should NEVER be grappled outside a Japanese tentacle porn...

EDIT: Ooh, I just realized I have a slightly better chance than I thought. The argeshy are trying to catch the shoggoth.... I can use that.

That was an excellent roll wasted on difficulty 2 :P someone needs to MacGuyver something to stop that thing with before I end up in melee with it! Maybe reverse the adamant leaves so they turn all his fire Essence into wood Essence or something.

Miashara, I was assuming you wanted me to roll the damage after subtracting my soak, just let me know if I read that wrong - I'm used to STs wanting to roll their own damage against PCs, so it was kind of weird. Also, on the minus-damage effect of Instruction in Good Will, that clarification (that it's -1 to incoming damage, not outgoing) is in the Scroll of Errata on page 154 (assuming I still have the newest version). I screwed up the first time and subtracted one level instead of one die... then rolled again with the -1 die instead and got a perfect roll. Original roll vs. corrected roll. I left the original in the post, just tell me which one I should use this time and I'll make sure to get it right from now on. (I remembered it was -1 after soak, which made me think -1 level like the Twilight anima, not -1 die. Sorry.)

You know, I've put stuff up in the recruitment threads a few times but for all the interest, there are no bites.

I do believe Kana is the one flying the ship, not Ganya. Unless something crazy happened when I wasn't looking.

*nudge nudge* teh game will go on. We have not answered those two very important, serious questions yet.

We have a 5-dot airship and it has no weapons. I don't remember who was paying what, but I'll throw in all 8 of the exp I managed to free up (I hadn't listed it as spent yet because we'd not got around to detailing the Achmed yet), you guys can come up with the other 7 between you I hope :D First priority if we survive this is arming the thing, though :P

I think we had a full accounting of it somewhere.. Kana's is on her sheet, she tossed 3xp at it for one dot. I think a big chunk was coming from Kenchiro. But yeah, agreed.

Sorry. Thought I would have net access in my travels. That clearly didn't work.

Anyway, F, you said you wanted to make a ballista? Someone needs to remain behind the wheel, but anyone else can start working on the siege engine. Multiple people can if necessary. Int+ Craft(Wood) and multiple people can work at the same time to improve speed.

I lack the necessary Craft skill currently, but I'd be willing to serve as a lesser assistant. Or... As Craft is of course favored for me, it doesn't have a training time... The IC thread is long enough to pay for my next dot of Craft. If there's someone else whose lead I can follow, I could probably stunt learning it on the spot, if Miashara's alright with that.

Speaking of rules questions, are you planning on changing this game over to Exalted 2.5? I can see a few benefits to the new errata, but this character might not like it so much. The free combos would make his martial arts better, I suppose, though - I could use defensive Charms to protect teammates without having to Combo them.

Hehe. I'll hook you up with some craft skill, but Kana does lack for craft: genesis atm, which may or may not come into play depending on how we do things.

*whew* I'm seriously not liking the 2.5 stuff, and while normally I'd just roll with it, this character couldn't do that so much. I'd have to ask to trade in all 12 bp worth of Alchemy I took :P maybe I'd go get Craft Charms with them, though, so it wouldn't be so bad for him...

Eh. At this point I'm not enamored with 2.5 to the point of mandating a switch. Unless people really want it, I'll only use selective bits.

The combo bit would be pretty cool, esp. with a couple martial artists, but yeah don't really feel the need to take all of it. Character breaking sounds not fun.

hmm... I would love the free combo part on this character. It's the thaumaturgy change that this one can't stand - and that I don't really get, but that's probably a topic for a different thread. Did someone somewhere find a way to break the game with thaumaturgy?

Regarding xp, you can spend it whenever you want, limited as usual by training times/teachers. It's four xp per full page in the IC thread. It was originally three, but pages on the new site have more posts, so it went up.

Also, we should be getting a new PC.
