A small smile appeared on the female's face, her eyes brightening up. She never enjoyed harsh personalities in others, but she considered the crocodile's words to be out of concern. "Well, you left the camp without telling me," she replied, "I was worried. Wouldn't you search for me if I randomly vanished?"

"Well, yes, but I'm a giant carnivore, I can take care of myself" He said, though he could see her logic. "And there was someone made of fire, you should have got out of there when I said so"

"Would you leave me in my time of need just because I asked you to?" She questioned, a tad annoyed. Though, she didn't find herself close to being as irritated as she used to be, at least not with the crocodile. "You were up against more than what's usual for someone to handle and someone made of fire. I doubt even a tough guy like you would've had an easy time with him."

"The thing is, your sole weakness is heat. A man made of fire, he would have easily killed you" He growled. "I would have been okay, maybe a couple burns but he would have gotten out worse" Yea, a couple of burns. His throat was still badly burnt and, oh yea, he was half blind now.

Mac began to cough and sputter, before jumping up, extremely panicked and worried.

"O-oh my god, where's Lyla?" He shouted, scrambling out of the bed. "Where is she?! I-I can't let her die..!"

"She's fine," Miley said, having come in just in time to answer his question...even if she didn't know if she was ok or not. "So I got a question for you. What the hell was that?"

Tallah barely had time to levitate the potions as Mac suddenly jumped up. He eyed the inside of the vial in comical suspicion as he was sure that it shouldn't have had that effect. Taking the time to recork the vial,  place it back into the chest,  and settle said chest down on solid footing, Tallah called a chair and sat down heavily. "Yes Mac, Lyla is fine for now. She's in a stasis. I would also like to know what happened earlier." He gave Mac a questioning look.

"I third that." Garren came strolling back out of the side room and leaned against the wall.

"I-I..." Mac sputtered, before he realized his secret was out. He let out a sigh, and his head drooped down in shame. "Alright.. I guess I can't keep it a secret any longer.. I'm not inherently human.. But what happened there was an accident." Mac took a deep breath, before falling silent for a minute. He had to tell them the full story.

"I.. I used to look like that. What escaped was my god soul. I was the god of fire, Agni. I tried to make peace with my rather hideous form, but everywhere I went, I would only cause death and destruction. I couldn't bear it.. Everything that I touched burned or ignited into a ball of flames. So, I eventually made up my mind, and decided to seal my evil self away. And after years of trying, I finally was able to channel it away. So, I encased it in my shotgun, and lied that it was the soul of my father. I.. I keep it near me in an effort to keep myself from turning into that monster again, but as you can see, I wasn't even able to do that.."

As soon as he was finished speaking, Mac held his face in his hands. Now they knew him for the monster he thought he was.

"That's....actually really cool," Miley said with a small smile. "A god? Really? And an evil god! Can you get any cooler?!"

"You. Are. A. God?" Tallah stared at Mac in complete disbelief. He didn't seem entirely happy about that fact.

"What, Lah? Was the man made of fire with complete self control not enough of a tip-off? You should kmow better. That wasn't magic,  and you know it Lah." Garren drawled. He'd seen this coming a mile away. Gods had a way of warping space around themselves that a traveler like Garren learned the signs,  at least that was how he reasoned it in his own mind.

"I don't understand. Mac, how is this possible. I healed you like any other mortal." Tallah questioned the neely revealed god.

"Without his or her god soul, any god is virtually human, Tallah." Mac said, noting the look of disapproval on his face. He groaned, and clutched his stomach, before coughing up a cloud of ash.

"That... that tasted gross.."

"I... Didn't know. Anything that the gods saw as a weakness for themselves, they hid from mortals." His frown faltered slightly as he saw Mac cough up some ash. "Here,  I have something for that." Tallah rummaged through the potion chest for a tiny vial of liquid clarity. Handed the vial the Mac before sitting back down. "It's a basic cleansing potion. Should clear up anything inside."

"Well, I'll be on my way, there's entirely too much going unsaid in here for my taste. Toodles." Garren winked at Miley as he portalled out.  He really didn't like being stationary.

"I'm gonna kick his ass next time I see him," Miley declared, crossing her arms, before looking at Mac. "So...when did you become like this? Or was it always like this?" @Safety Hammer

"It really doesn't matter..." Mac sighed, a sad tone. he looked up at her, and sighed. He hated his other form to the point where talking about it made him feel even more depressed.

"Can... can Tallah and I speak privately?"

Tallah sat and waited for Mac to speak. He crossed his arms anxiously. Whatever Mac wanted to talk about, he was sure that it would widen the gap that had already grown between them. "What is it, Mac?"

Mac looked up at Tallah from where he was sitting on the bed. Pulling his hands from his eyes, he looked up at the mocha skinned elf with a steely gaze.

"Why do you care? Why do you keep wanting to help me?"

"What do you mean? I am a healer. Caring for others is what I do." Tallah returned Mac's gaze.  He was purposely misunderstanding the questions. I do not like the direction he is taking. Tallah hoped his eyes would not give him away.

((LoL? I honestly don't know how to react. It's funny and sick,  especially if you end up opening the box and finding more than one collar...))

"Alright, can you just cut the bullshit?" Mac said, not really in the mood for this. He just wanted the truth now that his own secret was out.

"I'm not talking about just healing me. Whenever I'm in trouble, you're there. When I'm hurt, you're there. When I'm around, you wear provocative clothing. If I have to leave, you have something else for me to do! I'm so fucking confused, Tallah. Do you like me or not? Could you please just tell me what it is, so I can just have some peace?"

"Of course I like you!" Tallah snapped just as equally fed up. "I just don't know if it is more. You said you'll love me even if I reject you. I don't know what will happen if I suddenly wake up one day and realize that I do not love you the way you love me and I've mislead you. Do you think it is fair for me to just deceive you?" Tallah stood and aproached Mac, poking the large man's chest, his eyes glittering sapphires.

"What do you want me to say? That I love you? It may be true, but for how long? How long could my promise of love stand up to yours, especially now that I know you can back it up with a god's lifespan? I am a healer, Mac. I cannot tell you that I love you knowing the pain it could cause you later on." Tallah turned his back quickly as his vision began misting with unshed tears.

Mac fell silent and rolled over, as to not make eye contact with the elf. "..... Then why don't you tell me to leave? If you don't want me to be hurt, why don't you tell me to leave?" Then, something clicked in Mac's brain. He rolled over, with betrayal in his eyes.

"A-are you just keeping me here because of the curse..? You are, aren't you?"
