All the kids raise their hands and shake them. Summer had to kind of laugh, to her self. She was going to have to do that in class. They had been good so far and she was proud of the kids. Ben sitting right beside her, really shook his hand. Summer crossing her leg. She was ok with amphibians. As long as they stayed on their side. This had been a good thing for her so far. But she will see if she could make it through this. The kids sitting forward in their sets. Paying attention to every word that Adam was saying. Watching Adam as he stood before the class. He seemed to her to be in his element. She smiled as she listened to him.

It was clear that Adam was passionate aabpit his work and he was confident in it. He handed everything as if he had known them his entire life and when the frogs tried to jump he moved with them so they remained in his hand. When he got to the reptiles he moved with the same level of confidence and treated the large red tail boa as if it was a part of his arm. The only animal he struggled with was the large sulcutta tortoise and that was because she was so large and heavy and needed to be bribed with a large hibiscus flower. "Alright. Before I let you pet the reptiles any questions?"

Summer was a little nervous about the snakes. Even being from Missouri she wasn't good with them. Ben raising his hand as he says. "Mr.Adam is the tortoise nice or does it bite to be safe?" Summer smiles at Ben. Another little boy says, "Mr. Adam does the snake eat like the one snake that squeezes what it eats?" Summer watching the kids getting all excited that they are going to get to touch them. She had a feeling she would have to touch one just to get it over with.

"Rita is a sweet old girl. She just gets a little shy at first is all. So she is safe tonprt. Now keep in mind that she can feelnwhatbyou do on her shell, so when you pet her pet her like a dog." Said Adam before he directed his attention to the second kid. "Yes. Beth her is a constrictor so she wraps around her prey to kill it. Squeezing tighter each time it breathes out. But she Is kind as well. She was feed a week ago so she isn't hungry. Any more questions?"

One of the kids in the back raises her hand, asking "Can we pet them now Mr.Adam please?" Summer smiles, these kids want to do what they want to do. The rest of the kids nod and say "Yes please Mr.Adam?" Summer laughs, they weren't going to let up on Adam. He had gotten them so happy about getting to pet them. That is all that they are going to think about. A shiver went through Summer just the thought of the snake. And how they eat. But they kids didn't seem to mind that. And Adam wouldn't let anything happen to the kids or anyone it seems.

"Alright. But let's do this in a polit fashion. Can I get the teachers to count the students off in fives? This way everyone can get a fai turn without feeling too crowded. Thank you. And remember keep your inside voice. Also if you don't want to touch something that is okay. We understand snakes and lizards, and tortoises aren't for everyone." Said Adam as he wrapped the snaked around his neck like a scarf and prepared to lower himself so they could reach. "One final thing don't pet the snake on the head. It scares him."

Summer looks at Adam. Did he really just put that snake around his neck. She shivers a little bit. Us teachers stand up, and start counting the kids off. Summer comes up wit the first group of kids. Staying a little off to the side and watching them. The kids come up to Adam and start to pet the snake on the body. Listening very well to Adam. The kids are all smiling and a lot of awe's coming from them. Ben says, "Miss.Heartsmith touch them. Mr. Adam says they are ok." Summer smiles, "Ben you go ahead, I will another time I promise." She pats his shoulder.

"Oh come on Summer." Teased Adam as he did a little sway, dancing in place. "It's like wearing those feather boa scarves." He had one in a box next to his feet and pulled it out as he tossed it to her. "Makes you feel like one of those Western women when cowboys and Indians always fought." To be honest he didn't mind that she didn't want to touch the snake. He had learned it was always best to let people come around to something they were afraid of. To discover that their fear was nothing to be worried about. He also couldn't help but to think of the irony that he was still afraid of heights after so many years.

Summer laughs as she jumps. The kids laugh, Summer smiles. "Oh funny Adam!" Picking up the feather boa off the floor. Wrapping it around her neck as she did a little pose. "These don't eat you Adam." Summer says as she smiles. It was nice that he teased her about it. Walking a little closer to Adam and the snake. One of the little girls took her hand and smiled, as she said. "It is ok Miss.Heartsmith. It feels nice and he won't bite." Summer smiling down at Rose. Summer knew that if the kids could do it she could to. Raising her hand slowly, she starts to pet the snakes body. She smiled as she did. This wasn't so bad.

"See this is why Discovery did a bad thing doing that show eaten alive. Snakes can't get that big now a days. How ever in prehistoric times titanaboa roamed the earth and was large enough to swallow a full grown alligator. It was longer than the school bus you came in today." Said Adam as Summer came closer to pet the snake. The red tail was honestly small for a red tail as it was a male and was about 8 feet in length perhaps a little longer.

"Well I could never watch that show. I have two older brothers that love to torture me." Summer says laughing teasing about her brother. But they did love to tease her, amoung other things. Her mouth dropped, "Wow that is huge. So glad we don't have those anymore." Summer said as pet the red tail. "Ok kids lets let the other kids come up and see a pet the these." Summer said as smiled, taking feather boa off. Adam was actually funny, Summer smiled to her self as she watched the kids.

It had been a few days since Adam had taught Summer's grade about the reptiles and amphibians and was still feeling really goo about it. Currently he was at the pet shop Summer had told him about and was staring at a baby red-tail, remembering the time he and his sister had gotten one together. He smiled and stood still when a large exo-terra cage stood before him. He was picturing its potential for a healthy frog tank. Something he was always doing. Now he was contemplating on if he should get it or not.

Summer at home playing with her puppies Ruby and Jade. They had ruined on of their toys that they loved. She laughed to her, "Oh you two now we have to go and get another one for you both." Summer says. Jade and Ruby just looking at her. She gets up and gets ready grabbing her keys. The puppies hear the keys. And come running knowing they are going to get to go with Summer. Heading out she picks up the puppies. And puts them in her truck. She heads over to the pet store. It wasn't far from her home. Getting Jade and Ruby out. She puts them in a cart and heads into the store. Looking for new toys for them. She loved spoiling her puppies. They were her babies, they sit in the cart and they whine some and bark at Summer. She smiles down at them as she says, "Oh hush you both are going to get something." She pets them.

Adam had a piece of paper out and was checking through a few things. It was a check list and it was obvious that he had been using it for a while. As he managed what he was doing on paper he was putting stuff into a pile and adding them up on his phone. He let out a satisfied sound before adding everything to the cart he was pushing about. Then he went to go find someone to get him crickets and frozen pinkie mice, along with some night crawlers. As he searched he spotted Summer. "Oh hey. Didn't expect to run into you so soon. How is it going?"

Summer picking up Ruby and holding her. She was getting to to whinny. Summer loves on her, as she looks at the toys. Turning with Ruby in her arms she smiles. "Hey there Adam." She laughs a little. " Yeah, these two tore up their toys so they need new ones. Going good today though. It is good to see you again Adam." Summer says, "How is your day going?" Summer asks. It was really good to see him. She didn't think they would run into each other this soon. Kind of nice that they did though.

((Just so you know it might take Adam a while to develop feelings. Not sure yet. I don't know him that well.))


"Really good. I am thinking about building another frog tank at the moment. Maybe for a gecko. I just couldn't pass on this deal of a cage. I can get everything else I need at the hardware store. I feel you though. Lyra well destroy those little bird toys when she gets them. So these re the two bulldogs you mentioned the first time we meet? They are pretty and from the looks of it well cared for." Said Adam as he moved his cart to the end of the aisle so it wasn't blocking anyone.

Summer smiles as she says "Hey never pass up on a deal. I was raised that way. You can always use something from it." Ruby whines and licks her face. Summer laughs, "Oh yeah this is them. My fur babies, this is Ruby and the one in the cart is Jade. I do my best to take care of them. I would be lonely if not for them." Summer sets Ruby down and comes over and sniffs Adam's shoes. Summer looks down, as she says. "I am so sorry about the Ruby come on leave Adam alone." Summer pats her leg. Ruby looks back at Summer and woofs some.

"Its fine." Said Adam as he crouched down low and let Ruby sniff his hand before he petted her. "These are my parents' dream dogs. My father says my grandmother, long ago used to breed them. Ruby is really sweet though. I can see why you love them, and don't worry. I feel the same way about my lot. Having the right type of pet matters. Or hobby, which mine is both. Kind of odd to think about it. If you got some extra time you are welcome to come over and see everyone. I have quiet a few things I didn't bring to the show.... Hey I know. I'll get Yellow Spotted Climbing toads for this cage. It is certainly big enough. Especially when I add my special touches."

Summer smiles as she says, "Oh I would like that a lot. Just no more feather boa's you know those things kill." Summer laughed as she teased Adam. "And thank you, Ruby is the one that likes to get into things. And Jade here, is laid back one. Bull dogs are great. I agree, these ones keep me on my toes. And do those ones jump?" Summer laughed a little more. "One of these days I won't be so nervous around them. But I don't mind looking at them. Some are very pretty to look at. You just name the time and I will be there." Summer says.

"Say tomorrow? About 4? I am off work and I am free of classes Saturday. It'll also give me time to get this cage started." Said Adam as he stood up an tapped the exo-terra ((It is an actual brand name BTW)). "Yes the Yellow Spotted Climbing toads do jump. They act like tree frogs but without that sticky clammy skin. They are arboreal toads. If there is anything you aren't comfortable with I'll leave it in its cage. probably best for the tree frogs anyways.

"That sounds great. I will be there, and that will give me time to get a sitter for the girls." Summer says. As she bends down and Ruby comes running to her. Picking her up and putting her back in the cart with Jade. She starts to whine,Summer hands her a toy to play with. "You are very kind to do that for me. But I am sure that I will be just fine. You will be holding them after all." Summer looks "I am sure that it will look great Adam." Summer smiles.

"Thank you." Said Adam with a kind smile. He was a bit puzzled on why someone would need a dog sitter for a few hours of the day. Then again perhaps the dogs didn't do well alone or were still being potty trained. There could have been a ton of different reasons why she needed one. "Hey if it helps any you are welcome to bring Jade and Ruby over. The house is pretty pet safe. It'd save you the headache of finding a dog sitter."

"You're very welcome Adam. Really you wouldn't mind. They stay at my feet most of the time. I will make sure they have toys to chew on so you don't have to worry about them to much." Summer says as she smiles big. "The girls tear up things so it is easy to have someone around to watch them. You just made it so much easier Adam." She reaches over and pets on the Jade and Ruby. "They love to go around with me." Summer laughs some.

"It is no problem." Said Adam as he petted them. "And the back yard is fenced in, so if they need to go out you don't have to worry about them. Well I will get out your hair till tomorrow. I'd stay and chat longer but my stomach is telling me he isn't waiting much longer without food. Oh and before I forget." He took out a blank sheet of paper and wrote down his number and his address onto it and handed it to her. "There now you know where to go and if you have any trouble call or text."

Summer smiles as she takes it. "Thank you Adam and we will see you then." Summer says as she slips it into her pocket. They both lick his hand. She smiles, well it looks like the girls like him. But he is a friendly guy. Summer gets in her purse, writes down her number. "Here Adam in case you have something come up and you have to change the day. Just let me know." Summer says as she hands him her number. " I have to get home and gets the girls fed to. It was so good to see you again Adam." Summer says with a smile.
