Elprede saw the and heard how uneven Era was at the moment, it wasn't difficult to tell even with his better senses. Whatever had just happened in here was none of his business unless it adversely affected her recovery. A bit of an emotional phase was not terrible, though, it could be beneficial sometimes. He himself did not go through them very much just because he was not really close enough to anybody to warrant it; his superficial view of the world objectively required him to be like that. You can't make friends with the wrong people.
"I've been... Alright, I suppose." He said cautiously. "Well... I came in here for a specific reason and that was mostly to check up on you, but I suppose there are other things I may as well discuss with you while I am here."
He let out a small sigh. "While I'm sure you don't need another lecture, I feel like this one is needed: you are lucky to be alive right now, Era. What you did with the Mazunokari back there was stupid and foolish. I'm sure you can figure it out for yourself on why I was so hesitant to teach it to you or the others. We can't really afford for any of us to die or we become that much weaker and our enemy a much greater threat. You nearly destroyed your Ki pathways, Era. If I didn't know a technique for fixing that, you would have lost all ability to use your Ki." He closed his eyes and looked down at the floor, sighing.
"Regardless..." He started once more. "I had to do something just to make sure you had a chance of surviving. A technique we call the 'Spirit Link.' It usually is done only between marital partners... It links the Ki of the two individuals together, like a bond. In short, I had to Link our Ki together for your survival. I couldn't risk your body rejecting my Ki, which is the only thing holding your pathways together at the moment until they reform and heal enough that they can do it on their own. This also unfortunately means... You feel what my body does, I feel what your body does. I kept it minimal so that we could not share thoughts and emotions." He gave her a half-smile. "Can't imagine what you're going through right now, though it was enough to make you cry, wasn't it? I randomly got teary-eyed while coming to see you a few minutes ago."
