An alpha soldier approaches Lance. "Sir, we found two guards unconscious on the first floor."


General Lance pauses for a second. The only doors to the outside are the main... Wait no the service door!


"All units to the first floor, I repeat all units report to the first floor." Lance starts sprinting towards the first floor. He yells behind him " You stay here with Max!" Crap I'll never make it in time. That doors not very secure either. She's probably almost through.

Jake shrugged, "Sounds interesting," he said, "By the way, have you guys found any clothes yet?" he turned around, showing the dirtied and ripped up shirt he was wearing. The tattoo of the wings was view-able under the thin layer. "Can't walk around like this."

Marissa shook her head. "Unless you want bloody bandages, I don't have anything to offer..."

Nicholas yells after him "I could try to cut her off if you want!" He looks at Max and then pours a second cup of coffee on him "seriously wake up, you let a prisoner escape"

Alex points to a crate lying in the corner. "I think there is some stuff in there. It's probably new, I think the Mk guys left it for people left it there. Can't be too fancy,but it's better than rags."

The door clicked bluntly and age pushed it open looking outside. The light blinded her as she stared out. Raven stepped onto the ground in front of her stepping onto it fit the first time in years.


Clicking out if her daze Raven span in the spot and slammed the door shut ramming a blade into the locks to fix them closed.

Jake found a crowbar in the corner and used it to open the crate. Inside were basic provisions, as well as some ordinary shirts. He chose a white one and switched it out for his screwed up one. "I'll try not to wreck it," he said, walking towards the door, "Going out to get some fresh air. Don't blow the place up." He opened the door and went out, closing it behind him.


Jake walked through the bunches of warehouses until he found a forested area. He started walking through it, not really paying attention to anything, but just trying to clear his mind.

General Lance radios Nicholas on a secure channel. " Look I think I can trust you. Find any evidence suggesting how Raven escaped. If Max did what I think he did. I've carried out and given horrible orders. There are those who would call me a monster. But I care about my soldiers. If Elya finds out, Not even I can protect him from her Wrath. Tell no one but me what you find."

Nicholas radios back "he's out for the count, I'll investigate now" Nicholas looks at the shackles and then gets closer before contacting the General again "no sign of struggling, shackles are still bolted firmly into the wall" he closes the shackles and locks them, he then pulls them to make sure she couldn't have just ripped them open "uh yeah, he definitely unlocked these for her. There's no way she got out of here without his help. What should I do?"

Alex is baffled by what just happened. " Wait!" Crap what the hell was he thinking. We were supposed to get to Markaerel.


He turns to Marissa. "What should we do?"

Raven ran. Ran faster than she ever had in her life, beads if sweat firmed on her forehead as she puffed out steady breaths running through what seemed to be a large open courtyard and aiming straight for the forests, and electric fence, at the end of them.

Nicholas sighs "yes sir" he sits down with his back against the wall and lights a cigarette "Max you better have a good reason for letting her escape"

Alex paces back and forth deep in thought. "Our priority should be to get to safety. Sighs " Look. Were you go I go."


He sits down and places his head into his hands. "Something could happen to him. I know. It's not that I don't care. But if something were to happen to you? I could never forgive myself." He ruffles his hair in frustration.

Jake kept walking, the shade becoming more prominent. The ground under him became more rocky, not tread on for decades. He was enjoying the silence, the serenity. It made so much more sense than back there. In fact, this is the most calm that Jake has ever felt. His years in the gang always made him feel on edge constantly, but now... this was okay. He could live with this.

She smiled and sat beside him, giving him a sidehug. "Hey... let's go after him. Who knows? He could be a good ally. I'll be fine. I just shouldn't go too fast."

Nicholas pulls out his lighter and begins flipping it on and off, if Elya was to walk in it would look like he knocked Max out and set the prisoner free, he'd probably end up in the shackles, being beaten and questioned

General Lance receives a transmission "Umm sir? We broke through the door and there is no sign of her. We are currently prepping for pursuit." Lances barks into his receiver "Stand down. I want every member of Alpha back. We are initiating a maximum level lockdown." If Elya has a problem with it she can tell me herself. We've had two sets of Escapes and one of my own men.


Lance enters the room with Nicholas and Max in it. He closes the door. " You're a smart kid Nicholas. What's your view on situation?"

Alex stands up after being reassured. Yeah she's right. He seems like a cool guy. We better make sure he's okay. He seemed pretty upset earlier. Alex offers his hand to Marissa. "Alright let's go after him."

Nicholas flips his lighter on "Max here felt sympathy, wasn't hard to gather really. That whole torture thing before wasn't information gathering, it was to get a feel for him. I heard we'd had an escape previous to today, after a slight bit of torture he showed sympathy to the girl and when we left he took his opportunity to set her free. Probably thought he was smart, it's obvious he got her to knock him out, cliché for a prison breakout. Did I mention when I was nineteen I became a P.I.? Pretty fun job, you learn to assess a situation fully." Nicholas looks at Max "so what's gonna happen to him?"

The forest around Jake does indeed seem ancient. The serenity of it is almost trance like. However there is one tree towering above all the others. It stands oddly alone. Reach to the heavens to find your next goal. The note said. The others had thought it could have been a building. Were they wrong?

Jake kept walking through, when he decided to look up. Through a sparing hole in the canopy, he could see a large tree, towering above all. Such a tree was abnormal in this plain forest, so it was quite an odd sight. He started to walk towards it, and as he did a little voice started going in the back of his mind, reminding him of the letter, of reaching to the heavens. Maybe...


He reached the base of the tree and started to climb it. Why not fly? Well, it was because of two things. One, he didn't want to ruin the shirt, and two, climbing was just fun.

Nicholas nudges Max with his foot "I think I assessed the situation correctly" he puts the lighter in his pocket and sighs "I hope the prisoner is found before she escapes"
