Fantasy Howl's Flying Castle (Finished! ---Whoo! (*^▽^)/)

Chenglei was about to say something back only to watch the oldest Pendragon go down the rope and he sighed. 'What's with these kids wanting to leave camp?' He thought as he stood there, waiting. When it was morning, the blond oriental walked back before James could even see him, tired himself but he went back to work for the Prince.

"Thank you, Lydia. At least someone appreciates my jokes." Echo pouted a bit at Serena who shrugged her shoulders. "To each of their own." was her answer.

"Oh! We became friends while you were staying at Winslow. He really likes my music and we sort of...bonded." Serena said, smiling wide as if she's keeping an awesome secret and wouldn't say much detail. Echo raised an eyebrow.

"Uh-huh..." The fawn waited for Serena to continue but when she didn't, the red head poked Serena in her tickle spot. They stayed up at night as Lydia fall asleep and the older girls looked at each other with huge smiles before quietening down.

When it was morning, Echo and Serena came out of Lydia's tent to start on another song together to play for the Sea King, waiting for Lydia to also get up as they agreed to going to breakfast together.

Renee smiled, blushing red as she kissed back while squeezing him in her arms. Her wings fluttered happily. Though she thought he would use it now or at least check on it. 'Maybe he'll do it in the morning-'

She couldn't think anymore on the matter as he started to message her, making her mewl and squirm. When it was time to sleep, the Pendragon teen laid in their shelter, cuddling with Seifer and giving lazy sleepy kisses everywhere she could reach before falling asleep.

Lydia gave a soft pat to Echo's shoulder when she pouted about her jokes not being appreciated and laughed a little more before looking to Serena curiously. Of all the people to become friends, she thought that was strange, though she supposed that she and Hisaya had been at least civil with each other despite the fact that Lydia had ended him, at least in his Humanish form.

As they stayed up talking and joking, giggling and doing girlie things, Lydia eventually fell asleep, curled up in a ball beside Echo. She had been really exhausted and didn't have the heart to have studied like she normally would have to take her mind off things, so she had been truly grateful for Echo's and Serena's being there with her.

In the morning, it was some time before Lydia actually left her tent. It wasn't because she was still sleeping or tired, but because she wasn't sure she wanted to get up and go out into the camp. She knew she'd have to face James sooner or later because it would be incredibly difficult to continue on this quest while avoiding each other. Lydia had been so lost in what she was feeling the previous night that it hadn't even occurred to her how very difficult it was for James, in a way she realized that she had thought he handled the whole thing rather coolly or otherwise unaffected. Eventually she did peek out of the tent, verifying that the coast was clear before she exited completely to join Echo and Serena for their promised breakfast before she would respectfully greet the Sea King and let him know she was ready if he was.

James must be in the Bowl Rock camp as no one saw him in the Shrine camp. It was Johnny's turn to make breakfast today: boiled tubers and fried smoked dodo with a handful of chilled wild berries.

Kenren climbed up the ropes to the shrine as they were eating to talk with Lydia about her plans. He will not wait for twenty-eight moons, only two more days as they make the last searches for Renee and Seifer. He will however let Lydia stay in the Shrine with someone and depending on how her exorcism will go, she may or may not be allowed to catch up with the group, Kenren will have her know. If ever she found Renee and Seifer she is not to travel with them together nor make her presence known. Clues leading to hidden carved instructions had been left on the grove for the two to follow if ever they found their way back.

The prince then paid his respects to the Sea King and they conversed for a while as everyone continued with breakfast.

When the topic of Lydia willing to stay or not with the Sea King for her exorcism arose, Echo and Serena were worried and looked at each other. Out of the two, the best one to hide in case Renee and Seifer found her was...

"Lydia, if you do stay here, I'll stay with you. I'm really good at making disguises and the likes, so if we ever need to hide, I got you covered." Serena volunteered as she munched on the fried smoked dodo. It makes sense too considering that she wanted to do spy work and hide in the shadows. Maybe they could keep an eye on the missing archer couple too if they do find them somehow...'

Doubtful but it's better than nothing.'
She thought, somehow wondering if the missing pair is in another part of the forest and that's why they couldn't find them this whole time.

The young witch was feeling slightly nauseous that morning and only ate meagerly. It was probably nerves, so she tried to eat what she could to keep her energy up, but didn't eat until she was sure she was full.

Kenren's visit didn't help her stomach any. She listened intently to what he had to say wondering if his plans were for her safety or if he was afraid that something was going to go wrong and that her being around Seifer and Renee if they showed up would endanger them. His words actually made her feel relatively downhearted. She could only hope that the exorcism would be a success, whether it too the full twenty-eight moons or less, but the idea that if something did go wrong, that someone would be there with her, also made her nervous.

Chewing her lower lip converted to chewing on her thumbnail as she considered the repercussions for her decision, but in the end she chose to stay, and she would stay until she was sure that the dragon was out because any chance they had at getting the tarnished dragon soul out of any of them that had been invaded, was a risk, so she didn't see a reason to wait until another risky chance came along. Though she didn't really understand why, in any case, that she wasn't allowed to travel with Renee and Seifer and her brow furrowed to the decision, but she didn't argue because she was sure that Kenren had his reasons.

When Serena volunteered to stay with her, she shook her head, "I d-don't know... if you should...."

Zer0 Zer0 Katsuya Katsuya

"And why not?" Serena asked, raising an eyebrow. "I rather support you and if that means me staying here with you, then I will." She said, feeling a bit put out as she ripped the dodo meat apart with her teeth and chewing it.

Roleplay Skittle Roleplay Skittle Zer0 Zer0

Lydia cringed slightly to how viciously Serena ate her dodo meat and rubbed her arm slightly as she looked away, "w-well... I just... don't want you in danger... if something bad happens..." she smiled slightly, "at least... not because of me... not because of something I caused."

Katsuya Katsuya

Serena shook her head a bit as she swallowed. "Yea and that would be even worse if you stay here alone. Nope. I'm staying." Then she smiled. "Besides I like playing for the Sea King, he's nice."

Roleplay Skittle Roleplay Skittle

Her face was solemn, but she faintly nodded, resignedly, "o-okay Serena... but... if I lose control... you get away.. okay?" she lifted a few more berries from her dish and crunched on them as she looked back to Serena, her green eyes wide and eyebrows raised questioningly.

At the mention of Serena playing for the Sea King, Lydia started wondering if music could be something that could be used to help the Sea King combat the dragon. Echo and Serena could both use song to fight so she wondered if Serena's playing could help beat down the dragon, "do... do you think that maybe... your playing your music could help? You know... weaken the dragon when the Sea King tries to remove him?"

Katsuya Katsuya Zer0 Zer0

Serena waved her hand as if to swipe Lydia's worries. "Alright, I'll run away if you go crazy." When the small witch mention about her violin helping the Sea King keep the dragon at bay while he takes it out, the blonde thought for a moment.

"Well...it would explain why he said that us being there for you did help him before...So yea...I think so." She answered.

Roleplay Skittle Roleplay Skittle Zer0 Zer0

Lydia laughed slightly. She didn't know why, but the way Serena worded things made her feel a little better. She gave a nod and felt a little less like she was carrying a hot rock in her stomach so ate a little more heartily.

"That's probably right... you all were trying to help me when the Sea King discovered Valdanr..." she looked thoughtful for a moment, gazing off at the Sea King and Kenren, "I wonder what his name is? It has to be something other than 'The Sea King.'"

Katsuya Katsuya Zer0 Zer0

"Who knows...maybe we should ask him." Serena said, smiling that she somehow cheered Lydia up before biting into the fried dodo again. There's another reason why she wanted to stay; She wanted Hisaya to try and remember as much as he could while being here. Maybe a nice memory of his friendship with the Sea King...

Zer0 Zer0 Roleplay Skittle Roleplay Skittle

She nodded her agreement at Serena's suggestion. When she thought about it, she hadn't even told him her name, she wondered if Kenren or Johnny had since they seemed to be talking more indepth with him. She watched them again a moment, wondering if the Sea King got tired. Do gods sleep? She crunched on a tuber, watching them inquisitvely.

" Floating Islands "

"My name?" said the Sea King after he delighted on dancing to Echo's and Serena's song. "I have many names. I have been called the ocean, the river, and the rain. If you mean my first name before I was first reborn, I had forgotten. If you mean the first name I was called when I first woke up in this life, I was called Aelin by the trees here. In your tongue that means, 'Lake'."

Once Lydia was settled, the Sea King begun and the witch once more felt his ancient presence seeping into her inmost self like trickling raindrops forming a puddle under a door. And once more the shard of Valdanr's soul was there, and for some reason, stronger.

The Sea King remarked that the wound in Lydia's heart seemed to have grown bigger overnight and that the other inside her had been feeding on it ravenously. And so her battle begun, as it will every morning for the next few weeks she and Serena were going to stay here.

Everyone was supportive of Lydia. As search parties were sent out once more to look for Renee and Seifer, the prince organized everyone else not on guard duty to hunt and preserve food enough for the violinist and her. At least two months worth of salted, smoked meat, dried fruits, nuts, and berries.

The Sea King told them that Mizutsune will be coming in the afternoon and said that she will be wanting to talk to Hisaya about what happened to Raigeki, though who that was Hisaya had no idea, but was probably another dragon.

"I see them!" said one of the scouts in Oriental. Their scales shimmering in the distant clouds, six snake-like things were twisting and 'swimming' through the sky, heading for the shrine. They looked almost remarkably like the oriental dragon statues and paintings in Kenren's warships, and at their head was a white dragon who was so colossal her coils could wrap around the prince's master warship and cocoon it completely. Her size could rival the black dragon plaguing the other side of the Storm Wall.

Kenren bowed deeply as to a ruler much greater than himself, and his soldiers, all in awe, bowed down as though they were seeing before them, a god. For the oriental dragons in their legends and stories had been regarded as gods. And to see one with their own eyes was above all honor.

They had prepared a large feast for the dragons, but Mizutsune ignored the food and said in booming Oriental inside their heads: 'WHERE IS SERENA, KEEPER OF SUOH HISAYA?'

Echo and Serena played for the Sea King as he talked with Lydia about her name. Chenglei went off to find more food, primarily more meat to cut up as he needed a relief from his stress.

Once it was time for the tiny witch to get her exorcism, Echo stayed close as she wanted to support Lydia as much as she could while they stayed for the two days and she yelped in worry when the Sea King mentioned about a wound in her heart growing; the dark dragon inside eating it. Though she froze in fright when the dragon screamed in her head, her ears folded back and slightly trembling.

Serena did her best by playing a courageous tune for the tiny witch, not really minding the soldier that screamed about something coming. She really did not care because she needs to support Lydia through this. She ignored the bowing and she ignored the feast that's happening.

She could not ignore the loud voice in her head however, flinching in surprise and playing on a high note; sounding like nails scratching down a chalk board. "Ow-!! No need to...y-yell...." Her blue eyes took in the large dragons, especially the white one with the purple fur and large petal like fins that's around her head and piled on her back. She slowly put her violin down from her awe and fright of the giant lizards...though if she said that to their faces, she wouldn't even be a snack to them. That's how tiny she felt like at the moment.

After realizing who the dragon was looking for, Serena stepped up though hesitant. She can't be scared. She can't. This dragon might be the dragon that she wanted to meet after all...since...she's the one who taught Hisaya in the first place.

"...I'm over here!" Serena finally yelled after staying silent for a few minutes, her knees shook but she kept a brave face on. If Hisaya can do it, then so can she. "Are you Mizutsume, Hisaya's teacher?"

" 3 Days Later, Somewhere "

"Hmmm . . . That's definitely not a hill." said Seifer to Renee. "You think if we just cracked the shell a little bit and scooped some of the yolk, we can make scrambled eggs?"

It was their second day without food. Most of today had been spent foraging, but all they had to show for it were a few crickets, an earthworm, a mushroom, and a berry --- not exactly filling for two people, especially Seifer who absolutely refused the crickets and earthworm.

And today they seemed to have stumbled into a dragon's nest, and lucky them, there didn't seem to be any mother or papa dragons around; Seifer's stomach grumbled as he hungrily stared at the egg, drooling.

Johnny slid over to Echo and placed an arm around her shoulders, rubbing comfortingly with his thumb and bumped heads with her reassuringly.

He gazed at the dragon too and Echo could tell he found her beautifully magnificent and awesome the way he always found new creatures and cultures intriguingly fascinating that he wanted to learn all about them and come near to talk like a curious sponge thirsty for knowledge.

The white dragon bent, tilting its massive head and one piercing blue eye bigger than a carriage wheel gazed down at Serena so intensely it's as though there was a spotlight on her.

"I AM. WHERE IS HISAYA'S HEART, SERENA THE KEEPER?" boomed Mizutsune. "SHOW ME."

Katsuya Katsuya

"Aelin..." Lydia smiled warmly in appreciation of the Sea King's name, she thought that King Aelin would be a good fit for him, "My name is Lydia Dubois... Lydia means..." she looked embarrassed for a moment, "beautiful... or noble... and Dubois means forest," she giggled slightly, "so... beautiful, noble forest?" she thought the idea was kind of funny since she was so short, she could hardly be compared with a tree, let alone a forest.

She didn't know how long each session with King Aelin would be so she sat down comfortably in front of him. She closed her eyes when she felt him begin to reach into her soul again, her thoughts following his path. She did open her eyes when he commented on the fact that her wound had become larger and winced slightly because she knew the cause, it made her wish that she had told James she didn't want to talk, she felt like it undid the progress King Aelin had made earlier. She steeled herself, reminding herself that it was okay to feel the pain and it would in the end make her stronger.

With a straight back, a concentrated expression, and the support of her friends, she prepared for the long battle that lay ahead, taking back the pain that Valdanr was trying to take from her because even though it was pain, it was still hers and she wasn't going to let him have it.

The fact that everyone there was very supportive of her dilemma only made her stronger, knowing that there were people rooting for her and helping her in more ways than one and she was grateful to those that were preparing food for she and Serena.

Lydia remained concentrated on the task at hand, even after the dragons arrived. She had retreated into herself to focus on chasing the dragon out, though her concentration was interrupted at the sound of the great long dragon's voice, even though she didn't understand anything outside of Hisaya's name. She still didn't move though and wouldn't unless the Sea King stopped his pull and told her she could see the dragons or take a rest.

"I think we'll be stuck trying to open it all day." Renee groaned, hating that it's an egg. She hates eating eggs, sure she'll eat it because it's a waste of food if she doesn't; but she still hates it. So it's rather ironic that they would find a HUGE dragon's egg with no parents around...

...and they are starving....

"The shell might be too hard for us to crack. If we had magic, then yea, maybe...since we don't..." She responded logically trying her best to ignore her growling stomach.

"We shouldn't eat a dragon's egg anyways. There's a chance that the dragon parents' might find of us by scent...or worse we don't know if it's okay eating an egg from a magical beast. We could get food poisoning. That's not good...then again neither is starving ourselves..." If only the egg was smaller, one that they can carry around easily then yea, they would be able to eat it in a safe space; but it's not. It's huge like a hill and she knew, by the glow of the egg, that the yolk could be hot as lava so how would they eat it?! Or cook it? Better yet how can they scoop it up if the yolk might be hot as lava? They would need to cook it with the sun as a fire.

'Why am I being logical now?' She thought as her stomach growled again and placed a hand over it. They still can't eat that....at least it's pretty to look unlike the other dragon egg back in Paroosia. It has pretty warm colors with a bit of green and she bets that it's warm too compared to the dark purple and angry red from the other dragon egg. Much more lively too...

"Maybe we can find something that's edible around it..." Renee suggested, sitting on the edge to either stand and look around or leave the nest to look else where.

********
Echo calmed somewhat, bumping her head back when Johnny came over. Though she didn't take her eyes off the huge dragons.

Serena is used to being in front of a stage and in the spotlight however...when it's with a couple of dragons and hardened soldiers? Not likely.

So she took a deep breathe and let's it go before jumping from the huge blue eye looking at her directly. "Right here..." Serena muttered, placing a shaky hand over her clavicle where the red gem is, wrapped with gold wires carved in tiny seals.

"Hisa-chan's heart is right here..." Serena said. "...and I'm not his keeper. I'm his friend." She corrected, not liking the title 'Keeper'. It sounded like she was his jailer or something similar.

" Floating Islands "
"You are beautiful, Lydia Dubois. I see the lily pads, and the leaves that hang down the branches touching the streams in your eyes." said King Aelin. " Wonderful name . . . you always intrigue me, all you children of men who speak. Of all the creatures that walk this earth, you are the only ones who give each other a name and tell everyone of it freely. Everyone else looks to the moon gods for theirs and never share their true names unless the other is to be trusted, most never say their names at all."

As he continued to pull at the black dragon's soul, the Sea King conversed pleasantly with Lydia about how names are treasured by the fishes, the crocodiles, and the frogs, as it is the only possession they have that cannot be taken away from them even if they are eaten. " Learning the true name of something grants you power over that something, so it was very interesting to know from Johnny that Sasagea and Luthien told your Renee theirs."

He then went on about some of the things he and Johnny spoke about last night, about summoning creatures from the different realms. Conjurors call it a spell circle, but what they do is that through arithmetics they are actually drawing the shadow of the names of their summons without them knowing, and when they cast the spell, the name is completed when their hearts call out and the creature on the other side senses that they are needed, and so come if they wish.

Names were not words to creatures that do not speak. It was who they are, and one feels it in one's heart when they are called. "Sometimes, it happens to humans who do not know they've given the one they love their real name . . . one becomes aware the other is in danger even though that other who called out to them is many leagues away."

He too did not pay attention to Mizutsune, the way a river would not care and would go rolling along the hills and valleys if even the mightiest of heroes decided to bathe in it. Three of the dragons dipped their heads into the pool to drink, ignoring Lydia, though one in varying hues of green, with white fringe petals and belly mane tipped red like the Cymbidium orchid, seemed intrigued by hers and Echo's green eyes, and the shiny silver loops on Lydia's ears.

One of the drinking dragons, a red one fringed gold, finished and scooped up with its tongue from the edge of the pool one of the gold articles Kenren had given the Sea King: a gold coin that was probably a speck of dust to a dragon so colossal.

' THIS IS BEAUTIFUL. DOES THIS BELONG HERE?' asked the dragon in Oriental to the ancient spirit, all of which Lydia heard in her head.

'Yes, in return for guidance for these children, though not all of them have asked me.'

'WHO HAS NOT ASKED YOU? I WILL TAKE THIS COIN AND TAKE THE DUTY OF GUIDANCE.'

'You may ask the one with amethyst hair, he seems to be their leader.'

At this the other dragons looked up and also began to look for nice shiny things inside the pool, but the green one had not stopped looking at Lydia and Echo. 'WHEN YOU PASS AWAY, MAY I HAVE YOUR EYES? IN RETURN, YOU MAY ASK OF ME AS WELL.' it said to them. It was a female.

Meanwhile, Mizutsune came closer, looming above Serena with that one huge giant eye. 'WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU? SPEAK!'

Nothing from the red crystal.

'YOU ARE NOT YOURSELF. YOU ARE HARDLY YOURSELF. YOU HAVE LOST YOURSELF. THERE IS ANOTHER WITH YOU WHO HAS EATEN ALL EXCEPT THE MOST PRECIOUS PARTS OF YOU, SUOH HISAYA. YOU CAN NO LONGER REMEMBER ME.' At that the white dragon sounded sad. 'YOU, SERVANT OF THE NAMELESS ONE, COME OUT! OR WOULD YOU COWER BEHIND A MAN?'

Suddenly the red crystal burned white hot on Serena's skin as tendrils of darkness erupted, hurting her and striking Mizutsune in the eye. The great dragon roared a thunderous hurricane as she drew away, shaking the entire shrine; Lydia felt it too, close to blacking out, a desire to rip the white dragon.

" Somewhere "

"I'm having scrambled dragon eggs." said Seifer, and without further ado, crept out of their hiding place and made his way to the hill with a sharp rock and his spear. This desperately hungry Seifer made more courageous with Renee by his side seemed less of a coward than the usual well-fed Seifer.

He moved fast, not noticing that there were actually smaller reddish pink eggs nearby that were entwined with vines. Lava flowed like a river around the gargantuan egg, keeping it warm. He hopped, balancing on rocks and leaping across the lava until he triumphantly reached it.

"Food!" he cried and raised the sharp rock to strike it.

Echo shrank into Johnny when the green dragon came closer to her and Lydia. Considering her friend is busy at the moment, the fawn wondered if she should give her eyes to the large dragon...when she dies...That's a morbid thought: To give her eyes to a dragon when she passed away.

Then again it's a thought to consider, no matter how morbid it is.

".....Alright. You can have my eyes after I pass away. All I ask of you, however, is knowledge that you can give to my love and me so that we may pass it on to our children. Any and every sort of knowledge you have." Echo said shyly, giving the green dragon a smile. "If that's okay? My name is Echo Muses. What is your name, miss pretty green dragon?"

Serena gulped, tilting her head back a bit for Mizutsume to see the red gem on her neck. She really scared of what the large white dragon will do when Hisaya said nothing, but when she heard the dragon's sad tone; oh how she wanted to play that with her violin. A great creature like a dragon is actually sad to see a dear friend like this because Serena can tell that Mizutsume really did care for Hisaya.

"Hisaya?...Say somet-OWW!! What the-!?" Serena flinched from the burning sensation on her neck where Hisaya is and she quickly took it off her neck, now holding it from the black string. She knows how a burn mark feels like and she can already tell that there's gonna be a burn mark on her neck-!

"Hisaya!? Hisa-chan?!! HEY!!" The violinist couldn't believe that he lost himself but then she remembered something; he was mad at himself for not remembering.

Quickly, Serena propped her violin and played his song while holding him with the hand that's holding her bow. The same song she made for Hisaya back at the Atelier.

"Snap out of it, you pebble!!! I know you're mad for not remembering this whole thing but we can still help you remember! This is precious to you! Mizutsume is precious to you. It's obvious since this is happening, now please! Fight back, would you?!" Serena yelled or more like...pleaded as the entire shrine shook.

"I know you! You're a lot stronger than that stupid dark lizard! Now fight back!" She screamed.

************

Renee sighed as she watched her hungry boyfriend run down the hill and she followed behind him. It's rather surprising that Seifer became a bit more courageous by being around her...but then she realized another funny thing. She's starting to realize how stupid a person can be when they are not considering the consequences. Then again...survival needs.

'Boy, James and Lydia are going to laugh in my face once they realize how right they are about that...I'm such an idiot...' Renee thought as she looked down and froze before running behind her boyfriend. Then once she reached, the Pendragon teen grabbed onto his arm just in time-!

"Wait-! I just saw smaller pink eggs! We can take those instead! It'll be safer than this big one!" Renee reasoned, pulling hard to stop him from puncturing the large egg. "I'm serious! There's a group of pink eggs over there! We can eat those and go somewhere safe. Now come on-!" She tugged again. Her ragged wings flapped hard for once in these past two days of not eating.

A dumbstruck look fell over Lydia's dollish face to King Aelin's words, those green eyes of hers widening greatly as her face flushed bright crimson. A god had just called her beautiful. She quickly averted her gaze, a bashful smile on her face, she couldn't rightly argue with a god so she did the only thing she felt she could do, "th-th-thank you....." she listened with interest as he continued about names, thinking about his statements intently. Especially when he started talking about summoning. It made her wonder what Sasha's true name was and also made her wonder if the one drawing the spell circle determined what was summoned at all.

A melancholy expression came over her face as she combined the idea of accidentally giving the one you love your name with that person having power over you and she wondered if she had done that with James. She felt her eyes begin to burn and she sniffled slightly, shaking her head and trying to get the thought out. It was only shortly after that when she felt eyes on her and looked to the dragon that was steadily watching her, balking slightly and glancing away nervously though she did sneak a few more peeks when she felt that the dragon had not looked away.

When the voice of the dragon that was eyeing the gold in the Sea King's pool - boomed in her head, she flinched slightly at the surprise of it and she couldn't help but smile as the dragons seemed to excitedly start looking for other gold to claim as their own. She then remembered Levitas and felt a little sad, though that was replaced by shock as the dragon that had been eyeing her and Echo asked for their... eyes? If she could have helped it, she wouldn't have widened her eyes at the dragon as she became obviously shocked at the request. She looked to Echo as she responded and blinked a few times, "b-but... won't they... rot?" One of her nostrils twitched slightly, raising as she made a mildly disgusted expression at the thought of rotting, shaking her head as though that would shake the thoughts free, "th-th-um... c-could I give you something else instead?"

When Serena exclaimed, Lydia jumped slightly, looking to her in surprise before she doubled over where she sat, her hands clenching tightly at her arms as her eyes squeezed shut and her lips parted in a grimace. She may have to embrace her pained feelings to clear the dragon, but she didn't ever want to embrace what he urged her to do, "n-n-no.... s-stop.." she practically growled the words as her knuckles turned white, her fingers digging into the sleeves of her blouse, "i-it... h-he.. the dragon..."

Before the other dragons could answer, they all sharply looked up, alarmed at Mizutsune's roar of pain.

The black tendrils from the philosopher's stone faltered and cracked as Serena played her violin. It was working. "Old-old worm!" gasped Hisaya's voice from the red crystal. "Help me! End me!"

'STINKY! YOU REMEMBER!' said the white dragon, filled with hope, one eye closed and bleeding badly. 'I WILL TAKE HISAYA WITH ME! SERENA, HISAYA'S FRIEND, YOU SHALL COME AS WELL! I CANNOT HOLD HIM, NOR CAN YOU, FETCH A HERMETIC BOWL IMMEDIATELY!'

'No! Mizutsune! End me! He'll see! He'll know! He always knows!'
said Hisaya.

Johnny, who had been aghast at Echo agreeing to give her beautiful green eyes away when she dies, quickly called for James so that he can make another sealing urn, but he was at the bottom while they were at the top.

'FETCH HIM.' commanded the white dragon to the red one.

Immediately it rose then swooped down from the shrine roaring for James. In the bowl rock camp everyone was panicking and scampering in every direction like mice. Kenren, who had immediately grabbed on to the red dragon's mane was sternly shouting at his soldiers. "Everyone, calm down. Where is James?" --- it didn't work, the sight of the massive creature and their prince dangling from its hair shook their nerves.

"Y-your highness, g-get away from there!"

The prince climbed up the mane and on to the dragon's nose, "Where is James?" he said in a commanding voice.

"I-in his t-tent. Sleeping?"

"Wake him up!"

A soldier went in, but the red dragon was impatient and Kenren had to drop on his belly and hold on tight as it bent and with one claw upturned the little tent and saw inside the soldier and the sleeping James on his cot. Without further ado, it scooped him up with its tongue.

"What the ---" James startled awake, grabbing his wand.

"Calm down, James." said Kenren, as the dragon placed him on its claw. He was like a lady bug in its scaly palm.

"Kenren, what' going on?!"

"We're going for a flight, it's alright, you are safe. Lydia and Johnny are safe. No one is hurt." The red dragon soared up into the sky and promptly rolled James on to the white floor. He was bewildered, looking at everyone, but his attention was immediately caught by the white dragon who loomed over him.

'WHERE IS THE HERMETIC BOWL?' said Mizutsune in Oriental.

"N-nani?" said James croakily in a high-pitched voice, shrinking. He looked like he was struggling between the flight or fight response.

"James, she wants you to seal Hisaya's heart again." said Johnny, who looked like he didn't want to come forward.

"O-okay." whispered James, " Johnny, come over here and don't let me stand alone, darn it." he added through gritted teeth, his legs shaking, and numbly walked over to where Serena and the red crystal heart was. "I-I need a bowl with a cover." he said as he began casting his shielding charms to contain the black tendrils. Kenren immediately told everyone to look for one.

'BOWRUH WIDA COVAH.' repeated Mizutsune to the other dragons, and once that too was provided for, the red crystal heart that kept pleading in Hisaya's voice to end him, that they did not understand the danger they were in, was slipped in and could not be heard anymore. 'I WILL NOT LET YOU GIVE UP ON LIFE SO EASILY, MY FRIEND. LET US FLY!'

And she scooped up Serena and James in her claws, then crouched, ready to take off. Needless to say, this was the last chance anyone was probably going to get in going with the dragons.

James was protesting, yelling about staying with Lydia and searching for Renee and Seifer who haven't been found yet, but the white dragon would not let him and Serena go because she needed them to save Hisaya; Kenren and Chenglei made eye contact and, knowing each other very well, the swordsman knew that his prince was asking him whether he was staying or coming. If he was staying, Kenren will go, if he was coming, Kenren will stay for the prince will never leave his men unless someone he can count on was there with them; yet despite it all, some soldiers, including Ymir, leaped and grabbed on to the dragon's mane saying that they will not let their prince go alone.

Serena grinned maliciously when she realized that her method is working, the tendrils freezing up and cracking like that, and now Hisaya is talking back too-

"Stinky?! Her nickname for you is Stinky?! Can I call you Stinky, Hisa-chan?" Serena is really amused that a large dragon would call her friend that of all things. Then her large grin turned into an alarmed frown, now playing the song for missing Seth. That's not good. If the dragon is listening then...

"Wait! Mizu-chan!" She's not listening! She's not listening-! "Aughhhh!!! I can't leave Lydia! I can't!" Mizutsume is not listening-! "Where are we going?! Hisa-chan, where are we going?" Serena is really confused with this whole thing.

However she was glad that Mizutsume is willing to bring Hisaya back somehow. So she played and played to keep the tendrils stay where they are until a bewildered James came by and Serena grinned weakly at James; pouring her heart once again to play for her very distressed friend, now sealed away in a bowl.

Serena really love surprises, just as much as Renee, but she didn't like this one with the dragon grabbing her and James-! "AHHHH!!!! HAHAH!!!" The blonde was laughing out of nervousness. This is a lot different than flying on Renee in her griffin form, way different. She complained about needing to stay with Lydia for support and she couldn't leave her alone yet-!

When Chenglei made eye contact with the Prince, he knew what he wanted to do. So the blonde soldier nodded briskly and went with the red dragon. He decided to go and make the Prince stay with his men. "Oh great red dragon, take me as his replacement." The Prince is needed to stay with his men because without him, the men will panic. He gripped his sword tightly and smiled warmly at the Prince.

Oddly enough, he never does that in front of the other men with the Prince despite their tight bond because of respect, but right now..."I'll be back with James and Serena, Prince Kenren...so ya bettah be well when I com' back." Chenglei's real accent peeked through as he let the red dragon take him in his grip too. "Ya hear me, Kenren?"

He didn't complain at all when the red dragon took him too.

Kenren nodded at Chenglei, smiling, and slid off quickly, slowly falling as Johnny's featherfall spell caught him. "Good luck." The red dragon didn't care whether anyone was coming or not, yet did not stop Chenglei either.

Johnny looked at Lydia, then James, as though deciding. "Love, I'm going with James." he said quickly to Echo.

Realizing there isn't that much time, Echo nodded in understanding and kissed Johnny.

"Stay safe, love. I'll watch over Lydia and help Kenren." She said, smiling though forlorn. "Maybe we'll be able to find Ren and Seifer too while we're here. Let James know that." Then she pushed him lightly towards the dragon before kissing his cheek.

"I love you Johnny." Echo whispered in his ear before walking backwards and standing next to the prince.
