roflmao it took me a minute... but this like... completely deviates from my actual question. xD I am trying to think of a word that one would use to describe a sort of rippling effect the aforementioned unknown creature makes when it swims in order to propel itself forward.. and I can't describe to you what it looks like because all I can remember is the rippling. xD

There's lion fish that has the rippling effect when it swims. There's sharks, eels, goldfish, koi fish, clown fish, fighting beta fish. Too many fishes that could be the fish you want. Do you know the color? Where it might live like shallow waters or deep waters? River? Waterfall? Ocean? Pond? Was it sunny in the picture or dark? Roleplay Skittle
