After a glance at the direction of the bathrooms, Johnny's hand slipped under the table and held Echo's. "Alright." he looked relieved for some reason. "I thought that perhaps you wanted to live here, Echo. I'm thinking about living on an airship, lately I've fallen quite in love with travelling, seeing new places, meeting different people and learning their culture. I thought of building a flying theater that was half a flying garden where you could have your apothecary and perhaps a brewery and a dojo?" he asked curiously. "Would you like that?

James swung his fist at Chenglei, missed, spun wildly, then lost his balance, landing on his bum again. "Chenglei, come back here!" he barked.

That's it, he's learning hand-to-hand combat and Petrificus Totalus, a spell that snaps its targets rigid like a wooden board, then he'll kick this guy's buttocks!

Echo shook her head, smiling warmly as she squeezes his hand. Her ears perked up at the idea of traveling in an airship. "No, Sweetie. I'm only following your family's traditions out of respect. Don't get me wrong; it's interesting but I think I'll be driven mad if anyone else stares at me for having hooves." She giggled quietly, not offended by it.

"It sounds lovely, Johnny. We can talk more about this later, if that's okay?" The fawn timidly asked.

"No can do, dear little brother~! It's payback for your bee." Reasoned Chenglei, sending James his princely smile with glitter and his flowery aura surrounding him. Oddly enough the flowers are not the usual red Camilla; it's snowdrop flowers. Did...did the flowers change depending on where he is?

'How does he do that?' Echo thought as she watched James struggling on getting back up and Chenglei chuckling in amusement. Then she shook her head and skated near the older Pendragon.

"Um...Grab my hand?" The fawn timidly, offering a hand.

As Lydia struggled and Aodh came over to see if he could be of help, Lydia smiled graciously. It was around that moment that Chenglei released James from his grasp and soon after James took a swing and missed. Lydia could only shake her head, it was hard to know how to react during those moments since while it infuriated James to no end, Chenglei really didn't mean any harm by it, he was simply a big brother irritating a younger brother, even if it was in a relatively awkward manner usually.

Lydia removed her attention from the two and smiled more brightly, "really? That would be great, thank you," Lydia went to put her hands on Aodh, but wasn't really sure where to put them, wouldn't it be a little disrespectful to put her hands on his head? Her brow furrowed slightly, "erm... Aodh... do I...?" she gestured, asking with her hands if she was supposed to just put the leather wrapped appendages atop his head. She glanced over as Echo was helping James up, glad she was doing so but in her mind she questioned if that was a good idea since they would be technically holding hands.

Her green eyes gave a cautious look around the lake, just to check and make sure there weren't any locals around that would spread rumors about Echo and if all was clear, she let Echo help James since she couldn't, otherwise she would speak out.

"Yes, it's okay." said Johnny rubbing reassuring circles around Echo's hand with his thumb. "Why?" he tilted his head curiously, wondering if perhaps the question was too forward, or if she simply wasn't in the mood to talk about it.

" Later that Day, Frozen Lake "​

"Thanks." grunted James, firmly gripping Echo's hand and letting her pull him up as he once more tried to regain his balance. There seemed to be no one else near the vicinity of the frozen lake other than the five and Pond.

For the next hour the giant owl bear let James grab on to a giant feathery arm while she continued to make her snow castle at the edge of the lake. He practiced getting used to just walking on the skates, his breath coming out in mists. He looked like he was holding on to the railing of an edge of a cliff. Then he let her pull him forward as he held on to her claws and thrilled when he didn't fall for the first time. Seeing Lydia practicing with Aodh, he walked carefully over to the archeologist penguin, moving like a penguin himself with his arms spread open fir balance, and asked if he could teach him too.

Maybe it's okay to talk about this here, is what Echo thought as her nerves quieted down. With a quiet sigh, feeling comforted by Johnny, the fawn shook head a bit. "I'm nervous." Then she smiled at him though he could tell that this smile is tense. Like how she used to smile at the beginning when they talked at the nurse's office, when she always doubted herself.

"Don't get me wrong; I do want to plan our future together but I'm so nervous with getting your family's approval that I... I don't want to mess up." Ever since hearing that they were close to Winslow, Echo wanted to put her best hoof foward to impressing his family and not offend them somehow. She's nervous to mess it up and not have an opportunity to prove herself in their eyes again. So when his father asked about meeting her dad, it made her sigh in relief.

Echo looked down at the table where her cup of hot cocoa was and she poked a marshmallow. "It's... It's silly of me to be this nervous, I know but I just want your family to know that I can take care of you too."

Kind of funny how long before, in the raft ride date at the waterfalls, Echo comforted Johnny about not being hurt by her father when they meet. Now when she's meeting his family, the fawn is nervous of letting him down and not meeting expectations. It's bad enough that his sisters are already judging her for being a reindeer satyr, she can't change that about herself, but she can show them that she'll be supportive to Johnny. She wants to let them know that she's serious about him.

Then Echo sighed quietly, having an urge to kiss him but resisted. "I'm sorry. I guess I'm overthinking again." Her green eyes looked over at Johnny to see his reaction.

Echo pulled him up with an amused grin, letting go so that he can learn how to skate too. Chenglei chuckled again as he twirled around James so that he wouldn't hit him and stood near Echo. "Well, can't say I didn't have fun."

The red head sighed. " Lei lei, you know that he'll try to get back at you."

The blond shrugged nonchalantly but he was still smiling. "Good. I hope he does. More excuses for me to bug him." Echo giggled quietly. "You really like having a little brother to mess with, don't you?"

"Just this one. He needs to stop being so serious all the time. It's already giving him wrinkles on his forehead." At this Echo laughed before covering her mouth and lightly slapped his arm.

"Lei lei, I never knew you care about his forehead before."

"...I don't, Cho. Just wanted to make you laugh. I can tell you're a bit stressed with something. Thought I can make you laugh. Dropping James in the snow is a bonus for me." That made Echo shake her head in amusement and disbelief.

"You really need to stop picking on James."

"Sorry, Cho, but... He's so much fun to mess with." Chenglei offered to teach her more on skating, holding her hands and skating backwards so that she can balance herself. He'd dodge if he ever comes close to James, chuckling.

"You're very serious about me then." said Johnny, amazed. "So, I guess we shouldn't do this." he said understandingly, looking at their holding hands as he slowly let go.

"I'm alright with not making love this week too." he saud supportively, "And about that . . . I don't want to lie to your dad and aunt, Echo, if we sleep together will that make our relationship difficult for your family to accept?"

"Yes, I am." Echo answered, her smile relaxed. However she didn't let go of his hand yet. "I don't mind this though since no one is looking...I miss holding hands with you." She muttered, blushing pink, now looking at the marshmallow shyly.

Her blush went from pink to red soon after when she heard Johnny's question and wondered herself. Would it be a problem? "...I don't think so. Auntie Mel didn't really say much on the matter." Her green eyes gazed into his.

"She only told me 'if it happens, make sure it's with the right guy.'...Among other things." Like protection and the works. The 'birds and the bees' talk never was a pleasant one, even when her Aunt Melody tried to make it funny.

"...and...I know I have the right guy..." Her smile turned bashful as she smiled silly.

Johnny smiled, blushing, and his hand crept back to squeeze hers. "I'm going to eat you up, Echo!" he grinned.

But then something made his smile falter. "My family would want me to wait after marriage, but I don't care about what they say. Should I?" he thought for a while. "Before, I wanted to wait, but after yesterday I don't want to anymore."

Echo giggled, her ears twitched as she blushed again from his words. "Please do."

Then she hummed a bit, thinking for a moment. "...Well...based on the gossip from the other ladies here, I hear you've always been different compared to every guy. All because you wanted to have your own say in your life."

"So...I think you should continue with that, Johnny. Following your own path, I mean. If it happens, it happens." The fawn advised, smiling warmly at him. "I won't stop you if you want to continue since I know for sure that I'm ready. However if you want to wait a little bit longer, then I can wait as well."

"I don't want to wait, except to plan so that we can make it special." said Johnny already thinking of candles and flowers on the bed. Oh how the thought excited and flustered him. "But about my family, I know they're going to ask me one of these days if we made love together. Maybe . . . we could tell them about it? Though that'd truly blow all your chances of getting accepted by my family. But I don't want to marry you just so that they'll be okay with us sleeping, and I don't want to marry you just so that we can make love either."

Echo closed her eyes and shook her head a bit.

"Then that's okay. I'm doing all of this so they can get to know me as me. To have an idea of who I am and not care about what I am. If they don't accept me just because of making love to you before marriage, then they don't know me at all." The fawn responded. The idea is heartbreaking but she rather be happy with Johnny and not have family's approval then to make Johnny feel trapped by his family's traditions. That's the last thing she wants to do to him.

"Johnny, let's get married because we want to. Not because of traditions or other people's views on the matter. So...Yea, we can tell them." She wants Johnny to be happy.

When Lydia asked where she should hang on, Aodh relised that he didn't have any shoulders to hang on to, and even if he did, he lacked the height for her to hang on comfortably. He thought for a few moments on how to help, when an idea hit him. Scrabbling up onto the snow quickly, Aodh said to Lydia, "I have an idea, wait here a moment, I need to grab something." Aodh waddled to the camp with ease despite the skates, and picked up his backpack, carrying it back to Lydia.

"Put this on, the propeller should be strong enough to provide lift for you to balance without making you fly away. This switch here turns the propeller on and off, and the dial on the other side controls speed. It is not fully repaired yet, so it isn't even strong enough to lift my small body, so full speed should be perfect, but you can turn it down as necessary." Aodh handed the propeller pack up to Lydia's waiting hands. Ensuring that she was all set up, Aodh went off to talk with Chenglei about his skating experience.

Gently gliding over to the blonde knight, Aodh asked the question that was on his mind. "Where did you learn to skate so well? I thought that you are a soldier, not a professional ice skater. If you can, I would like some lessons on some of the more fancy moves you do."

"Oh... o-okay," Lydia nodded her head and stayed still, though as she straightened her back, she did wobble some, her arms pinwheeling slightly as she fought to keep her balance and not fall down as she waited. When he came back with his pack and explained to her what she was to do, she eyed the pack curiously and then Aodh, her large owl eyes blinking multiple times. She supposed she'd undergone more dangerous tests before though and so with a slight shrug of her shoulders and an expression upon her doll-like features that seemed to say 'meh, why not?' she put the pack on and adjusted it so it was comfortable before turning it on.

The initial jolt of the pack turning on knocked her off balance slightly, but swinging her arms she balanced herself. It was a strange feeling, being lifted up like that, it reminded her of when she was a little girl and her mother would lift her up. The thought made her giggle. How odd. She was pleased to see that James seemed to be getting along fine with Pond's help and it made her smile that they were both just learning how to skate, it had a sort of odd sentimentality to it.

"You are very brave." said Johnny, smiling admiringly at Echo. "Not afraid to go against the flow." he touched her antlers. "I think that's why I really liked it that you decorated your antlers with pots. "

"Ho Nehe!" barked his mother whom he didn't realize had come out of the loo.

"Erm, mom, I --- I have no excuse." he finished lamely.

His mother gave them a chewing after she pulled Johnny outside by the ear, and he curled defensively hiding his face behind his blue hat. For the rest of their walk around town she kept herself firmly between the two of them and did not leave them alone anymore.

After that, Echo was allowed to go to the lake while Johnny had to go bring the sheep and goats at the grazing lands back home.

Echo blushed, leaning her head to push her growing antler into Johnny's hand gently. "I'm only brave whenever I'm with you..." She was about to close her eyes...

Only to jump when his mother came out, scaring the fawn in the process with her eyes wide like a deer in headlights. Looks like she's afraid of ninja mothers.

The red-head looked down at the ground as she followed the mother and son pair, listening to her scolding just for him touching her antler. Her antler!! Echo felt really sad that his mother would even go as far to separate them when they walk together. His family...is really strict...

Afterwards, Echo left to the frozen lake and waved Johnny good bye, wincing at his mother pulling his ear.

Chenglei looked down at the flightless bird and smiled. "Of course! I would love to show you!" He skated to the center as he talked to Aodh. The soldier told him that he learned how to ice skate through training, though the tricks was just to impress his little sister back at his country. Whenever it was freezing cold and the rivers and lakes' waters turn to ice, he would take his sister to go ice skating with him.

So the blond showed him the hard spins, the difficult jumps, and dodges James' attempts to hit him whenever he was too close. His 'Kufufufu' -ing probably irritated the older Pendragon.

Later that day, James rubbed his sore bum as he looked out from the top of Pond's snow castle. He fell so many times trying to wipe the smirk off of Chenglei's face.

The giant owl bear had extending her snowy dwarfed walls around the camp he and Lydia had made, where the campfire was cracking merrily under a small pot of hot cocoa. Pond made herself queen and there she sat on a rock that was her throne while her "royal subjects" composed of snowmen with owl faces made of twigs and pebbles hailed her in silence.

It started to snow lightly again. James stuck his tongue out to taste the falling drift, amusing himself with looking through the eyes of his bees as they flew around the falling flakes. He admired the ice crystals and all their beautiful patterns as they drifted to the ground. This was such a lovely cool day and his thoughts wandered to Renee, Serena, and Seifer who must probably be bored being cooped up in the warship.

He went down the rocky steps, careful not to brush any of the delicate snow walls, bowed to her highness who gracefully waved a feathered claw, grabbed six mugs of hot cocoa and balanced them carefully as he strode towards Lydia.

On second thought he paused, put them all on the snow, went back and got the bag of funny marshmallows and poured them into the mugs. They all made silent funny faces like they were all trying so hard to poop as they tumbled in the cocoa.

His walk became a sneaky tippy-toe when he neared Lydia. Silently putting the mugs aside, he slowly crept right behind her, positioned himself a little to the left and stuck his finger out a few inches behind her left cheek. "Lydia."

Meanwhile, appearing on the top of a snowy hill was Johnny on Butters and four of his sisters. He called out merrily to them, pointing at Pond's snow castle. "Are you all building forts to have a snow fight?!"

After receiving the propeller pack from Aodh, Lydia was not quite so unfortunate as James was when it came to falling on the ice. She was seated and intently working on something of her own design, it looked like a cross between a cottage and a castle as it had turrets but it also had what looked to be a thatched roof. She was singing sweetly to herself as she had been thoroughly engrossed in what she was doing, the little snow building actually appearing fairly realistic despite the fact that it was made entirely of snow.

She jumped slightly when James said her name, turning and getting poked in the cheek, her eyes crossing momentarily as she leaned back slightly and focused on his finger before they refocused on James and she gave him a happy smile, giggling slightly. Her eyelashes fluttered for a moment as a cluster of flakes fell on them and she brushed them off with one of her leather gloved hands before her attention turned in the direction of Johnny's call briefly, a smile being cast back at James, "snow fight?"

Echo perked up when she heard Johnny's voice and looked over to where he was, smiling wide. She was making a snow fort of her own with Chenglei's help. The fawn would pile up the snow with her earth spells and the soldier would cut it, making a deep grove just to melt it. So far they are on their third wall but it isn't impressive as Pond's snow castle; just simple walls with small windows.

"Why of course! Hello, my dear friend!" The blond soldier chimed in happily, waved at the ram riding summoner and at his sisters.

"Hello to you too, young ladies!" He's guessing they were there to block Johnny and Echo's interactions secretly. Yes, the fawn has told him about what happened early that day.

If James was worried about Serena and Renee being bored out of their mind, well..

Serena was having fun talking with Hisaya, hearing him secretly observing James and Lydia's silly moments and she laughed at their pocky moment. It's rather strange that they got along but it might be her music that's calming him down first. Her violin sat next to the stone as she laughed again, her Butterbeer almost done. Mica curled up in front of the fireplace on a pillow with his eyes closed. Foo was there as well, petting the tiny ferret calmly and snuggled with Sasha whenever she was close by.

While Renee was in Seifer's room again, soul room notes scattered around the low table with sketches of the skarn rock in different sorts of cages made from a bendable wire. She was trying to make the white gold wire swirl around the pretty rock without covering the green vine like crystals that crisscrossed each other and used the leather cord as the necklace part.

For some odd reason, she found Fray outside with stuff from Winslow by her brother. Though it seems that none of them asked James about it, but the blonde violinist and the Pendragon sister was not going to complain. I mean that's how she got the white gold bendable wire and leather cord. Plus hot cocoa and Butterbeer! Renee trembled in glee whenever she sipped on hers, smiling wide from the warm feeling as her wings fluttered. "Seifer would probably like some of this too...Warming up and all."

James looked over at Johnny who galloped down the hill to Echo and Chenglei's fort. "Snow fight." he nodded at Lydia. "Cocoa?" he offered her a mug. "Oh, but your cottage might get destroyed, Lydia." he added looking at what she made.

"This is nice." he looked at the thatched roof. "Do you like cottages with a roof like this?"

"Brilliant!" said Johnny dismounting Butters. "'Allo, mate." he gripped Chenglei's hand; his sisters waved at the oriental man from a distance and seemed to be giggling bashfully.

"Is it us against Lydia, James, and . . . is Pond joining?" he peered at the owl bear's snow castle. They seemed too beautifully made to be destroyed and Lydia's cottage didn't look like it had any defense. Johnny drew out his wand and summoned Soda the water elemental who shot up from the lake like a giant fountain and Sorbet the ice golem. He had them create frozen arcs that crisscrossed the frozen lake and tundra to making their fort battle-field more exciting.

After a while, James called them saying that he has hot cocoa.

Lydia's smile broadened into a grin. She had experienced enough of these with her brothers when she was younger, before Thomas became too sophisticated for such childish games, on the other hand, there was no doubt in Lydia's mind that even today, if she asked him, Frederick would still participate. She clapped her hands together and interlaced her fingers, looking down to the mug James offered her and smiling sweetly to him, "thank you!" she accepted the mug and took a careful sip, the constipated looking marshmallow sticking to her upper lip slightly.

Her gaze drifted to her little cottage over the rim of the mug as she shrugged her shoulders when James mentioned it, "more than likely... it's okay though, I'm used to it," she licked her upper lip to make sure that there wasn't any sticky marshmallow left stuck to it before taking another sip and lowering her mug, lifting the little batch of twigs she had used to etch the appearance of thatch onto the snow roof, "I don't know... the idea just came to me so I made it," she hadn't ever really thought about what kind of house she might eventually like to live in, she supposed it was because she guessed she would always live with her parents.

Chenglei grinned at his friend. "I have no clue, Yukio. Her castle looks so epic that I do not wish to destroy it after all of Pond's work on it. Same with Lydia's cottage."

Echo looked over to where Johnny's sisters were standing and raised an amused eyebrow. "Seems that you have some admirers, Lei lei."

"Hm?" The blond soldier looked at them as well and puts on his princely smile, his tone suave and soft. "Would you lovely ladies come join us for a snow ball fight? The more the merrier, I always say." Snowdrop flowers bloomed extra pretty this time, the glitter isn't as obnoxious instead it just made the flowers look like snowflakes reflecting on sunlight.

Echo walked over to Johnny, leaving a small space in between while Chenglei distracted the girls, tapping on Johnny's shoulder. "Let's get some hot cocoa." She pointed towards James' voice was heard.

Once they were inside, the fawn grinned at Pond sitting like she was a queen and bowed. "Hello Queen Pond." She giggled.

James nodded. "Oh yeah, Lydia, do you like my current hair style?" he turned around so that she could see him from all sides, then pulled out the blue hair tie holding his black hair together. It had grown long enough that he could be mistaken for a girl from behind if it wasn't for his broad back.

In Queen Pond's little throne room, the owl bear inclined her head graciously and spread her giant arms magnificently as if welcoming them to her abode.

Johnny bowed as well. "Your majesty! How great are thy halls that we have come to pay homage! Please, accept this humble gift." with a flourish, he took out his cards, fanned them open, and when he turned them to face Pond, there was a flower resting on them. Pond clapped and received the flower happily. She gestured them over to Lydia's cottage where mugs of hot cocoa awaited the two.

Echo smiled warmly when Johnny did his magic trick and nodded at the large owl bear. "Thank you so much, Queen Pond." The fawn walked over to the warm cups and held one for Johnny to grab while passing Chenglei a cup as well.

The blond soldier smiled at her. "Ah! Yes, thank you, Cho." Then he turned to Pond, bowing at her like a soldier would. "Your majesty, your castle is superb and wondrous. Truly a work of art of it's own league."

"Aw, Lydia. Your cottage is so cute." Echo complimented, sitting down to have a closer look.

Lydia was taking another sip from her mug and gently scraping the roof of the little cottage with the twigs, she looked back to James and set down the twigs, licking her lips again when she was finished drinking before setting the mug down and raising her hands to his hair once he had finished modeling it for her. Her brow furrowed slightly and she collected the ends of his hair in the front as though she were really examining and making a decision before she smiled brightly to him, glancing away after a moment, her cheeks flushing a bit more than just from the cold.

"I-I-I... love your hair any way you wear it," she squeaked out in little more than a whisper, coyly glancing back to him as she released the strands of his hair that she had collected. It was her honest opinion, he could shave his head and she'd still love it, because it was James and whatever his appearance, he was still James.

She glanced over to Echo, glad that she had pulled her hands from James and covered her cheek gently with a hand in embarrassment, "th-thanks... Echo," a shy smile was still present on her face.

James felt pleasant goose pimples when Lydia touched his hair, and he went still. "Alright, I'll have it cut short then." he grinned, tying his hair back together. "It feels nice when you touch my hair, Lydia."

Pond waved an embarrassed palm twice the size of a door at Chenglei as though gesturing, naaaaaw, and bowed at him in return.There was a crunch of snow and Johnny's four sisters in their giant wolf form padded around the camp behind them and leapt over the snow walls gracefully. One of them had wings, while the rest did not, and it was the winged sister who's name was Honovi, who spoke in halted words at Chenglei.

"Us three will join, yes sword man?" she pointed her snout at two of the sisters. "Chippewa will look." the smallest wolf who seemed to be the second youngest, just a few years older than Johnny nodded at them and sat on her haunches, looking at them all interestedly.

Johnny seemed to look like he knew what was coming and when Honovi said that they wanted to play against Johnny, he sighed, "Diku ma saun-saun niyo." he looked at his summons. Echo, whom he had begun teaching his language to when they walked around town that morning, understood something along the lines of, 'I won't . . . easy . . . you.'

Honovi just grinned, showing her sharp teeth and wagged her tail excitedly.

"Alright then, shall we make this snow fight four against four?" said Johnny looking at them all.
