Serena looked up, stopping her feathered pen as she morosely stared at the thieving twin. "Yes, I brought you here...and yes, I got involved." She sighed as she looked down at the written piece of paper. "...I promised to certain someone that I will get involved and I told James that I will help when I can. If he didn't understand what I meant, well that's his problem for now."

"Do you want to eat? There's snacks right in front of you." The blonde returned to writing her letter, behaving like taking in a huge criminal is a regular thing.

"Oh and someone told me that you should move carefully or you might fall on your face." Serena commented bluntly.

Seth speared with his fork a square of potato pie. He looked at it, it had been a long time since he ate Serena's cooking. He munched a bit, savoring the flavor, it still tasted the same, albeit better as though she got better at baking. He smiled, which quickly turned meek at her blunt comment.

"You sound . . . angry, Serena." the twin said carefully. "Um . . . is it because we met again?"

The scratching of Serena's pen stopped. There was a dangerous quiet pause as the blonde in front of him didn't move an inch.

"No, Seth. I'm not angry..." She said calmly before it came out as a growl. "I'm absolutely livid that some lowlife decided to use my name to get you out. I'm pissed that someone even dared to use my name to try to harm the people I care about-!" She leaned back, taking a deep breathe to calm down; he can tell it's not working.

"I want to burn something-preferably the person who even used my name for that stupid trap- and hope for them to suffer for stirring trouble within the Order and my friends..." Then she sighed, slumping on the red pillow and dropping her pen on the table.

"...I actually did not want to see you. You made your choice and I made mine. We shouldn't have met at all and if we did, it's either through jail or by pure chance...but then I saw the note...and my stomach churned..." Her brows furrowed as she punched the pillow under her angrily. "...I had to make sure...you were okay...even if it pains me...I wanted to make sure..."

"Though I'm really glad that I was prepared...or else people would be storming in here by now."

" Serena's Home "​

"You really thought I was going to end up in jail, huh?" said Seth with a deadpanned expression, forking another potato pie square. "Well, you were almost right . . ." he sighed, sounding depressed, as he ate. " . . . Now you're involved too . . . " he muttered in a barely audible voice, as he looked out the window. So they were in Paroosia, huh. Seth gingerly got up on the couch.

"Thank you for your hospitality, Serena." he said formally, "But I have to go. I can't stay here with you, or people will think you're with me. You might get imprisoned too. Where are my stuff?" he held on to the back of the couch as he looked around.

"You can believe whatever you want, but I know where I stand; on neither side." Serena said, looking up when Seth gingerly got up. Then she sighed, standing up herself to place a hand on his shoulder; her touch was surprisingly gentle as she stood beside him.

"It's too late. People already think that I'm with you as soon they saw me escaping and you disappearing." She carefully maneuvered him to sit back down.

"Now will you please not ruin my horrible attempt at bandaging you and rest? You're in no condition to move right now...please, Seth?" She pleaded quietly at the end, looking down and her hair curtained her face in shadows as she took her hand away from his shoulder.

"But it pains you to have me here." said Seth sadly, not sitting down. His face was expressionless when he said that. "Besides, your bandaging is passable, Serena. A bit too tight, I think that's why my fingers are stiff, but it keeps direct pressure on the bleeding." he chuckled, trying to make light of the situation.

"I really want to return to my friends." he told her reasonably, moving around and trying to look for his backpack. "They're probably worried about me . . . I'm okay, Serena. Just feeling stiff from the shocks but I'll be right as rain later today . . . I just really want to leave."

Serena quirked a smile at his attempt but then her smile went away at his insistence.

"...It pains me to see you, yes...because it means that you were about to lose the reason why I let you go..." She reached out again only to pause and curl her hand into a fist. "It pains me more when you're hurt...I understand you want to get to your friends soon but I'm just going to follow you until I know for sure you're okay..."

"So please Seth," Bringing her fist close to her chest, Serena lowered her head in a little bow. "Just stay for the night and then you can leave...I promise not to bother you anymore afterwards...Just please stay and rest for now..." She begged quietly.

Seth sighed and looked at Serena, searching her face. ". . . You're really okay with me staying here? Me, your ex-boyfriend. I know you, I can see that us breaking up still hurts you. I don't want to hurt you by being here. It was never my intention to suddenly come back into your life like this, Serena, honest. I just really want you to be happy, you know?" he raised his hands in gesture.

"Now you're involved, nothing good can come out of this. I was so dumb to believe that you wrote that and that that was your real box, I didn't even bother to check. What if James and Renee come here? That's just ---" he tried to articulate. " --- you're just digging a deeper grave with me. Which you totally don't deserve. If you insist so much, then I'll stay here and rest, but I want to make it as less painful for you as possible, so . . ." he looked around the house, "Let me just stay in a place that's out of your way."

"See and this is why I want to help you," She said, tilting her head up again to show a small but happy smile. "You're kind..."

Then she sighed, smile getting a bit wider. "Just take the living room- Yes, the living room, don't try to change my mind. I already said that it's okay and you know that I wouldn't lie if I wasn't."

"And I don't think you need to worry about-" There was a knock from the wardrobe, making Serena sigh again. Her palm met her face. "...Of course...they would be impatient...Tighten your knickers, Seth." She reached over to the wardrobe, pausing for a moment as he can hear her say quietly, "and the chaos starts now...Ready?" The blonde turned to Seth with an amused grin.

A happy twinkle passed through his eyes when she smiled. Then his expression became a frightened one. "No!" he said in a high pitched voice, backing up so fast that he stumbled on his butt. "Don't! Who's there?! It's James and Lydia, isn't it?! Don't open the door, Serena, they're going to capture me!"

He looked around wildly for an escape route and clumsily made his way quickly to the door.

Serena opened the wardrobe as he fell on his bottom and ...

A small ferret jumped out with a commanding hiss, catching up to the twin and biting his clothes; tugging him as hard as he can. Then a light voice ringed in the living room as Serena helped her out.

"Seth? Oh my goodness, you really have him here-!" Renee carefully climbed out of the wardrobe as she can hear Mica grunting from trying (and failing because he is a small ferret-why did he think he could stop Seth?) to stop Seth from moving. Her hand over Serena's as she walked closer to her struggling little brother. Serena had to reach over and grab the collar of his shirt to tug him closer to his older sister.

"Seth! Oh cheese and crackers-! You're really okay-! Thank goodness-!" Renee reached over and hugged her little brother tightly. He can feel a little bump in her tummy. "When I heard from Serena that you might be in trouble, I thought of the worst-!"

" Serena's Home "​

"Mica!" cried Seth, surprised. "Sister? You called Renee here?" he added to Serena, then gave her another deadpanned expression, as she tugged on the collar of his shirt. "Ever the forceful one, aren't cha?" he added, looking at her like she was rude. Then Renee hugged him.

"Sis, we haven't hugged in a long time." he hugged her back tightly, then kissed her cheek. He picked MIca up and nuzzled him against his cheek. "Why, you've --- you've got a baby in your tummy!" he said in wonder looking at said belly, and feeling it.

"Yep, we're going to have a little one next year." said Seifer's voice. The model stepped out of the wardrobe too in a flourish, swishing a scarf that smelled of roasted apples around his neck.

"Y-you're here too?"

"What's with that disappointed tone?" said Seifer, confused.

"Well . . . you know, you're a coward --- no offense. I don't think you'll be able to keep my secret under pain of death."

"It's not your secret, it's Renee's secret, and if it's for my baby I can keep a secret under pain of death. And you know it."

Seth squinted his eyes at him.

"Listen, I have money, connections, and I travel. Me, Renee, and Serena together, we can help you." said Seifer. "And besides, me and Renee talked, wherever she goes I go, I have to protect our little one too." he came and rubbed her belly as well, reassuringly.

"So, you're really going to help me?"

"Yeah."

"Seifer, I think you've turned into a good person."

Serena shrugged, her grin became devious. "Hey, as long it works, then I'm not worried." She lets go as the siblings hugged each other.

Renee kissed his forehead, her wings fluttering happily. Then she leaned back, nodding her head in confirmation as Mica nuzzled his cheek back before he bit and tugged his hair affectionately. "Yep! You're gonna be an uncle next year...again!" She giggled as she felt Seth's hand on her tummy. The Pendragon sister listened in to Seifer and Seth's banter before laughing again. She placed a hand over his when Seifer touched her tummy too; feeling reassured.

Once again Serena's grin softened into a small but happy smile at the happy reunion.

"Let me check if you're okay- I can feel the bandages - Serena, do you still have the supplies I gave you before?" Renee asked.

"Yea, I still have them. They're right here." Seth saw Serena pull a backpack out. It was the same backpack she wore during their meeting place. "Your sleepy smoke bombs works wonders when we escaped, Renee. I'm really glad on double checking what you put in here."

"Oh that's wonderful that you did- Here, Seth. Let me check on your wounds." Renee insisted, tugging lightly on his clothes so he can sit on the floor or the couch. As long she can help her little brother, she didn't care where.

" Serena's Home "​

Seth sat on the couch, removing his clothes so that Renee could check his wounds. Suddenly he realized Serena was watching and became embarrassed.

"Don't loook." he said uncomfortably, covering his chest. He made shooing hand gestures at her.

"Anything I can help with, Renee?" said Seifer, kneeling beside her.

As Renee worked, Seth was red in the face. He had fallen hard back at the tower so there was a bruise on his bum. He looked at anywhere else except's Serena's face. Also because . . . and he had never told her, nor anyone, except Sen who was drunk with him when this happened . . . but there was a fancy tattoo of Serena's name on his right cheek; Seifer stifled a laugh when he saw it.

Unbeknownst to Minnie, unless they had done the do, she also had her name tattooed on Sen's left butt cheek with flying birds.

Serena sputtered, face turning pink, and looked away. Her mouth was pinched as she embarrassingly stared at the wall. Oh goodness, why couldn't she run to the kitchen?!

Because an almost naked Seth is nearby by the kitchen and staircase...

'Does Fate hate me or something?' Serena thought bitterly as she tilted her head out of the window...and her eyes widened. On the reflection of the glass, she can see her name in fancy writing...on Seth's right cheek. The blonde simply covered her bright reddening face and shutting her eyes closed. Her thoughts racing as Mica can see steam coming out from her head, hearing her quietly muttering gibberish: "He-He has my-! He has my-! Ehhhh..."

"Hm?" Renee tilted her head, blinking as she held the open backpack. "What's wrong Serena? Mind looking for a minty green jar, Sweetheart?"

"N-nothing-!" was her quick retort before she snorted in embarrassed amusement.

The medic raised an eyebrow, wondering what in the world had caused Serena to act...not like her today but then she shrugged. "Mica? Can you take care of the cuts? I'll deal with the bruises-"

"A-ah-! Renee, I don't think you should touch his bum." Serena said, resisting to grin and wanting to cackle.

Renee calmly asked her little brother. "...There's a bruise on your bum, Seth? It's okay. If you like, you can put this cream on? I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable." She smiled. "It's working when you feel a slight burn like when you're brushing your teeth with mint."

Mica saw the name on his cheek and chuckled and trilled, rolling off the couch while wiggling his paws in the air.

" Serena's Home "​

Seth's head whipped back and saw Serena looking at his bum reflection. "D-d-don't loook! Didn't I say not to look, SERENA?!!!" he yelled in a high pitched voice. He was as red as Serena's pillow. "What, what, y-yo-are you some kind of pervert like Seifer?!" he pointed an accusatory hand at said pervert.

"Hey, I'm only a pervert with Renee." corrected Seifer, sounding a little hurt. "You make it sound like a bad thing. You know, being a pervert is like admiration. Right, Renee? You like my admiration?"

"I don't need Serena admiring my butt ---" muttered Seth quietly, "--- DON'T LAUGH, MICA!" he yelled, panicking. "DON'T LOOK, SERENA! And I'll put the cream on!" he snatched it from Renee's hands, then abruptly stood up from the couch, tugging his loose pants up. He hobbled to the other room.

Seifer was silently laughing. "What a cherry." He looked over at Serena and saw her resisting a grin and wanting to cackle. He hadn't kept touch with her at all, but those few times he glimpsed her whenever he came with Renee to visit, he got the gist that she had been sad these years. This was the first time in a long time he's felt her this bright.

'Foolish, Seth.' he thought. 'I'm glad I realized the greatness of Renee's love before my hair or my dancing.' He was like Seth before once, thinking of fame and glory, but really, it's the things that last longer and become more beautiful over time that one should covet. And here he glanced at Renee, and the little bump on her belly. 'Where does he think the life of a thief will take him? You reap what you sow, and one day all the enemies you've made will catch up to you.'

When Seth finished wiping the cream on his butt, he returned, fully dressed in the living room. "Thanks, sis, I feel better now."

Seifer fell back on the couch. "So, what's the plan?"

"I can't tell you, but all I need is four thousand gold, and I'll be set tomorrow." said Sen.

"No, that's not what I mean. I mean, what's the grand plan?"

". . . I can't tell you, all of you that either. Sorry, but I don't want to rope you guys in the mess that I'm in. I can handle this, I just need to get back to my friends."

Mica just laughed harder, having a hard time breathing now and clenching on his stomach. While Renee blushed red, wings fluttering as she stuttered. "I-I-! ...Yes, I do..." She admitted timidly, wings covering her face as she realized something; she couldn't lie when it came to Seifer and his quirks. Not when she really does like Seifer being a pervert - to her, that is.

"IT'S NOT LIKE I WANTED TO SEE MY NAME ON YOUR BUTT! WHY DO YOU EVEN HAVE THA-?! PFFT!" Serena snorted and silently laughed in the corner as Seth stomped away. She pounded on the door lightly, shoulders shaking as she couldn't hold back her laughter anymore. It's been years since she really laughed and this-

This just made her stomach hurt so much.

"...Pffft-! He has m-my name tattoo-ed on h-his bu-butt...Hahahah!" She coughed in her fist when Seth came back, taking in deep breathes and trying to compose herself. The blonde would snort though, totally red-faced.

"It's no problem, Seth." Lifting a wing, Renee revealed her smile at her little brother.

When he said that he couldn't rope anybody in, Serena's mirthful smile was wiped away. She frowned seriously.

"..." Her blue eyes looked over at Renee and Seifer before looking back at Seth. "...I'm already roped in." She mentioned. "But you two...it would be dangerous for the baby. I only told you guys so Renee can check on any wounds he might have-"

"Ah-! But Serena, you know that I don't care what the public thinks-"

"No Renee, you have a family. You have to stand clear from this as much as possible. This meeting tonight might be the only one you'll have with Seth." The winged woman tilted her head down, knowing she couldn't exactly rebuttal that statement. Serena is right, she has to think about the baby that's coming and Sirius but- but this is about her little brother-! How could she not do anything?

"Serena...can't you go and help him instead?" Renee asked. The blonde looked at the window, crossing her arms nervously. "I already told Seth that I wouldn't follow him if he stays for tonight...I'm not going to push him if he wants me to stay here...even if I'm already involved by helping him escape."

Serena wondered if James was behind this trap...she wanted to ask him somehow and yet...

'I doubt it somehow...' Serena thought. "...Besides I told James that I will help if I can. I don't think that's a good idea for Seth anyways...to have someone from the Order to come with him...no matter my reputation...Though I have to wonder, how did SCU know about our past relationship?" That question was aimed at Seth, confused and suspicious. "I have my doubts that James would use me like that...so...I wonder who.."

" Serena's Home "​

"I WAS DRUNK!" retorted Seth's voice from the other room. "I don't even remember most of what happened that night" he covered his face as he came back, hands pulling down so that his expression was all saggy for a moment. "Apparently, me and Sen dared each other to get tatoos and hence your name on my butt, Serena." he gestured at his bottom. "Don't --- don't tell anyone!" he looked at them all.

Seifer sniggered. "Promise."

Seth was as clueless as to who set them up. "It's not like we kept our relationship private." his memories flashed back during that time they danced together in Chenglei's birthday party. He had also bragged about Serena to his crew, including to that traitor Jonathan years ago. In fact it was he who helped him choose a present in Awashima.

"Anyway, Serena's right, you've got a family now, sis. And, yes, this will be our last meeting for a while." he smiled. "But I'll definitely come to your wedding, so you have to make a private add in the newspaper someday, and I'll definitely come to see your child."

He looked at Serena. "No, my decision is final, even if you're involved, Serena, you can't be involved more. Nothing good will come out of it for you. It will just become more difficult to return to your normal life. So, after I rest here tonight, I'm leaving alone."

"...You tattoo-ed Serena's name on your butt?!" Renee said in realization, then she chuckled into her wing. "Promise I won't."

"No promises from me!" Serena said, grinning deviously.

When Seth didn't have a clue, the blonde violinist muttered, "Yes, I know but I never told anyone about the music box you gave me ...long ago..." Her eyes went towards to the staircase, her brows furrowed in worry. "That was what made me wonder on who set that trap because James couldn't have known about it...or anybody else."

"See?" Serena said to Renee, looking at Seth in exasperation. "I had to beg for him to stay for tonight too. Look, Seth, I don't know about you, but I really doubt they will give me a light sentence even if I hand myself in. Worse, they are probably going to ask me where your hiding spot is and keep me locked up until they get answers." She looked away from everyone, her short hair curtained her face in shadows.

"...I get that you don't want everyone you care about to be involved, but really Seth, you need all the help you can get."

" Serena's Home "​

Seth gave Serena another deadpanned expression when she didn't promise.

After he heard her reasoning, he sighed. "Let's talk in private for a while." he jabbed his thumb towards the rustic kitchen. The plush dark maroon carpets, giant pillows, soft peach colored walls, and the many poufy couches gave a cozy feel to what Seth guessed was a cottage. It felt nostalgic to be back in a place Serena has made her own, especially since in the past her place was his most relaxing place to rest.

He had no idea about the layout of Serena's home, and ended up opening the kitchen door and going outside, where the lights from what looked like her cottage cast a warm glow upon the grass. For a moment, he was surprised. She had said that this was her home in Paroosia, but she didn't think it would be in the heart of the very forest where his hideout used to be. And he wondered why she chose her home here. It was sparking a little hope in his chest, but he smothered it away. This kind of life, this was what he was protecting her from, and now she was about to delve deep into it. Well, he wasn't going to let her.

"What you said was true, Serena. I can't do stuff by myself, but honestly, I don't want you to get involved even more. What's the real reason why you want to help me?" he looked at her earnestly in the eyes.

Serena sighed through her nose and briefly gave Seifer and Renee a reassuring grin before following Seth where he wanted to go; which was outside of her kitchen.

She let Seth have his moment while she tries to gather up her thoughts, leaning against the kitchen door. She crossed her arms, covering her usual trembling hands away from the thieving twin. The blonde didn't know how to feel about this meeting- like what on Gaia does he want to know specifically-

Oh...He wants the real reason why she really wants to help him...

Serena sighed again, her shoulders slumped as she just stared at Seth for a long time. "My real reason? You mean reasons...plural." She pushed herself off the door and walked out of the kitchen soft glow, casting herself in the shadows of the forest.

"There's too many to count really, but...I guess I have three main ones." She didn't know if he can see or not, but Serena is fiddling with her shaky fingers, twisting and scratching them. "First one is because I want to find the source of that trap. I really don't like it when someone uses me." Not since the deathknight had it's way with her and Seth. She hated that it's that memory of being controlled that popped in her head when they were trapped by the SCU.

"Second one is because..."She sighed. "Second one is because I...I finally feel alive"

"Third and last one is because of..." Serena purposefully whispered that one as soon as the trees rustled from the wind blowing. "...Now you know. Those are my main three." She said quietly, not really wanting to look at him at the moment.

" Serena's Home "​

Seth looked like he didn't hear the last one, but didn't say anything. "Then, you can ask James about the first one. As for the second and third . . . do you really want to risk jail for those?" he scratched his nose as he looked at the ground in thought.

" . . . You're not going to get anything in return for this. I'm . . . seeing someone. We've been dating for almost two months now, but she's been my close friend for the last seven years. Me and her, we've accepted this life, and all the risks that come with it. Worse case scenario, Serena, if you just let me go alone tomorrow, you can cooperate with James and that dratted SCU and be jailed for less than a year. But if you come with me, that jail time will be added. You'll waste years in jail, and then get out with nothing to show for it." he reasoned.

"But if you just . . . let this go, then, you can be free to . . . be alive again, just not in this risky way. And you can meet someone who will make you happier. So, I don't want you to come with me, okay?"

"Yes, I do." Was her answer. He can hear her smile in her tone. "Especially because of the third reason."

After hearing his reasoning, she shook her head. "Seth, I already accepted that Fate wants me to be alone. I tried being happy with others but each one left the relationship for one reason or another. So I'm done with having heartache and just want to live the way I want..." Serena said calmly before peeking over her shoulder, raising a brow curiously at what he said.

What does her happiness matter to him if he has a girlfriend? Ex-boyfriends don't do that normally...

Serena had a hopeful sparkle in her eye for a second before it died out and she shook her head. Like she didn't want to believe it.

"I'm still going to help you in one way or another. So even if you asked me to not travel with you, what makes you think that I couldn't help you through the New Order, huh?" Serena asked, giving Seth a cheeky grin. "So either way, you're not changing my mind about this."

What in the world was that third reason? Thought Seth, beginning to doubt if it was about him.

He looked at her for a moment, then turned away. Though she could swear she saw the side of his lip quirk up in a small smile, as though he was hiding what he felt and was trying to sound frustrated.

"Fine, do whatever ya want." he waved a careless hand in the air, then went back inside, where Seifer was sitting beside Renee and talking to her belly about how his day went today.

" . . . and then Hollister said, 'Oh, Seifer I wish there was something between us.', and I said. 'Yeah, me too.' She lit up and said, 'Really? Like what?', 'A wall.'" he chuckled.

Seth watched their family exchange for a moment, before walking inside the living room and saying Serena's going to be helping him and that she wasn't going to change his mind.

"Good." said Seifer.

"Not good. This is a crazy risk, Serena." He pointed at the violinist when she returned.

Seifer had brought money already, disenchanting one of the key chains hanging on his belt. It turned into a heavy pouch jingling with coins, and he pulled out smaller pouches until Seth had the gold he needed and more, Seifer boasting about how this money was nothing for him to give away.

After Seth thanked him and Renee (giving his sister one last hug and her belly a rub and, "See you later, kid!"), and getting his things and bag which seemed to have been enchanted to be able to hold more stuff, he slept in the living room, and early the next morning he was gone.

Only to have him knocking on Serena's door at around eight in the morning, and then embarrassingly telling her he got lost and asking which trail exited closest to Frankia.

His injuries probably prevented him from climbing trees or running. Had he been alright, he would have been leaping from tree top to tree top towards his destination.

When Seth turned around and went inside again, Serena grinned widely and silently fist pumped in victory with a silent 'Yes-!'

While inside in the cozy living room, Renee giggled as she combed her hand through Seifer's hair, blinking her half-lidded sightless eyes. Her full lips curled up into a wide smile. Seth can see that she's completely happy as she listened to Seifer talking to the baby, her wings fluttered non-stop. Then when she heard her little brother's announcement, her smile grew wider. Relief clearly spread through her face.

"Good." She said with Seifer.

This is when Serena came in to hear Seth's weak warning and she rolled her eyes. "A risk I'm willing to take. Now will you stop mentioning how risky it is when you already reminded me for the seventh million time?" She playfully complained as she poked the side of his head lightly, saying 'Boop' when the tip of her finger touched his skin. The Pendragon sister raised her brow, pondering about Serena's tone as she hummed quietly. She hadn't heard Serena be this happy before...

...and all this excited energy coming from the blonde started as soon her little brother came in the picture again.

As they were saying their goodbyes, Renee told Serena that she packed a bunch of medical supplies and other surprises in case they needed it and then hugged her brother tightly. "Stay safe, okay? I know the baby would want to see his uncle too." Then she hugged Serena and whispered something in her ear...that made the blonde blush brightly.

"Renee-! No-!"

"Heheheh! Good bye, you two!" Then they went in the wardrobe. Serena is pretty sure that Renee would be careful and shut the portal from the other side since she did send it to her last week. So that night, the blonde packed up things she couldn't leave behind in the medical bag and slept. However when she woke up to knocking in the next morning, long and behold there's Seth asking for directions.

"...Pfft-!" Serena covered her mouth, stifling her cackle. "...How about I show you the way, hm? Snk-! There's a-a traveler's road we c-c-can take- Heheh-!"
