HOGSMEADE TRIP

hey friends! did you get your Hogsmeade permission slipped signed? if so, then you’re able to come to the annual December Hogsmeade trip! This day is a week away from the Yule Ball so now’s the chance to ask someone to the ball — either as a date or going as friends. Or don’t, you can go alone. If you’re not up for cold weather, you can hang out at The Three Broomsticks by the fire and get some butterbeer. If you’re a sweets person, then Honeyduke’s is waiting for you! There’s plenty to do at Hogsmeade whether you need more quills or quidditch supplies, or you’re just going to relax. And make sure to behave (looking at you troublemakers) but there’s no guarantee that everyone is going to be on their best behavior. Have fun and stay warm!

Hogsmeade.

Otto’s favorite place to go. Whenever the annual December Hogsmeade trip rolled around, Otto always looked forward to going. And, he just tries to go to Hogsmeade whenever he can. Located in Hogsmeade is Honeyduke’s — the best shop, hands down. There’s also Brews and Stews, the local café where Otto can get coffee and pastries. But, Honeyduke’s will always be the best shop there. Otto always looked forward to the sweet, sugary aroma of the shop. And don’t forget about playing in the snow and engaging in snowball fights! All in good, harmless fun of course.

The prefect shifted to get off of his bed, reluctantly though because the bed is cozy. But, today is the Hogsmeade trip so he has to get out of bed if he wants to go to Honeyduke’s. Otto deserved a break from prefect duties — some nights otter couldn’t sleep at all and as much as otter loved otters prefect position, it’s stressful. Really, it’s stressful. Even if Otto is the most chill prefect at Hogwarts. How many times has Otto been shaken awake after dozing off while studying? Otto’s been trying to get his naps whenever he can. It would be nice to get a full night's sleep though. Otto doesn’t even know what he wants to do after Hogwarts.

Setting his stuffed cat aside, Otto slid off of the bed, taking a moment to stretch before he padded over to where he kept all of his clothes. If Otto could go to Hogsmeade in his warm, cozy pajamas, he would.

Otto was beaming with excitement as he zipped up his binder and was trying his best to dress in a hurry. He must put on something warm so that he doesn’t get frostbite or hypothermia! The pine marten animagus quickly got dressed, putting on warm clothes and wriggling his fingers through soft, fuzzy fingerless brown gloves. An oversized sweater, a maxi skirt, and sneakers. Otto put some silver cat earrings in his ears, poking them with his index finger to make sure they stayed put. Hmmm, he’s ready for the Hogsmeade trip now!

Otto carded his fingers through his hair and he put his hair up into a short ponytail. Okay, good to go now!

Otto stepped in front of a nearby mirror and did a little twirl. Warm and cute! Otto turned otters attention to Cookie who was currently laying on the bed, curled up on the warm covers and snoozing away. Otter walked over and gave Cookie a gentle pat on the head, and the giant of a Maine Coon purred in response.

Otto’s attention turned to Albion — and he grinned. Whenever otter could, otter would bring Albi to the Slytherin dormitories so that they could spend the night together. It’s easier to sleep when you have someone to cuddle. And otter is like a little sloth or koala when it comes to hugging Albi. Call Otto clingy but otter thrives on attention and affection. “Albi, are you coming with me? Pretty pleaseeee?” Otto asked with a sweet hum, drawling out the ‘e’ in please. He didn’t even need to ask. Albion went everywhere with him. They’re joined at the hip; have been even before they started dating.

Otto is so cheesy and dorky.

Arms wrapped around Albion’s waist. There was something weighing heavily on Otto’s mind but he didn’t want to think nor talk about it right now. This is the Hogsmeade trip, let Otto enjoy it! What’s weighing on Otto’s mind could be discussed with Albion later. Much, much later.

Otto pushed otters face into Albion’s back, lips curling into a slight smile. Warm. Comforting. Otter stayed like that for a little bit before lifting otters head up and moving to give Albion a little good morning kiss on the cheek. Affection! Very nice. The Yule Ball was one week away — and Otto was looking forward to it. There was going to be plenty of sweets for Otto to eat there! And the dancing of course. Otto usually wasn’t one for dancing in front of others but the Yule Ball is an exception.

Anyways…

“Come on, Albi, I want to get all of the best sweets!” Otto finally piped up cheerfully, reaching to grab hold of Albi’s hand to tug him along. Otto wanted to get to Honeyduke’s before it got too crowded. And then Otto wanted to head to Brews and Stews for coffee and pastries. The pine marten wasn’t sure if Albion needed new quidditch supplies or something but after that, they could do what Albi wanted! But listen, can you really blame Otto for having a big sweet tooth?

If Otto went to Honeyduke’s alone, otter would most likely be shoplifting sweets. Yeah. Someone needs to keep an eye on otter. Otto was grinning cheerfully as otter was starting to pull Albion along with otter. Otto had already wolfed down some pumpkin pasties and saltwater taffy last night when he couldn’t sleep.

But enough of that, it's Honeyduke's time!

"ALBION"


Albion had woken up pretty early, the morning of the Honeyduke’s trip. That day was going to be an exciting and nerve wrecking day for him for sure. He was finally going to ask Otto to be his date to the Yule Ball.....Even though they were already dating He still wanted to ask him. Ya know! Wanting to be a gentleman and all.........But boy was the thought of it making him nervous!!!!!





He had quite a lot on his mind, as He had been working long and hard that whole entire week to prepare everything to ask Otto to The Yule Ball. Laying in the bed going over everything that He had planned or asking. Before leaning over to nuzzle the other’s cheek for a moment before slipping out of the bed and changing his clothing stuffing it in his bag to take back to his own dorm later.


Stretching a bit before adjusting everything, after doing his pretty long stretching routine that was…..He took Quidditch quite serious and even though he was naturally athletic , He did not want to take any chances. Giving a nod of approval at himself before taking a moment to adjust his attire, for once. Wanting to look his best for such an occasion as He smoothed out the clothes as best as He could. Normally He didn’t really tuck in his shirt or make sure to smooth any wrinkles or anything cause He tended to rush getting ready.


But today was not that day!



Just as He finished making sure He looked his best. He smiled over at Otter as the attention was turned to him. “ Morning sugar cube” He replied softly giving Otto a huge smile. Anytime the other smile before him it just made his heart beat faster. He just adored Otto more than anything in the world. Flushing a bit with a nod. “ Of course I am……You look adorable as always....” He replied with a soft chuckle. Never tiring of the hearing the other's voice especially with the cute little drawn out E's on occasion.

It was no question asked. Wherever Otter went Albion went unless it was something to do with Quidditch pretty much but that doesn’t mean Albion hasn’t tried to sneak Otto into Quidditch practice before. It may have happened on mutiple occasions.........He did always say Otter was his good luck charm after all!!!



Moving to wrap his arms back around Otto’s in return with a smile. His mind flickering to make sure He did in fact have everything on him. ‘Paper…. check……flower crown....... check………’ The entire checklist going through his head for a moment. Boy, was he nervous, it wasn’t supposed to be anything complex or anything big and over the top. He just wanted it to be meaningful……. And He was hoping it would be……...He just needed the right opportunity to arrive during the outing. Letting out a long breath as He smiled.



He turned to glance back at him, as he felt him press his face into his back with a soft smile. Quietly admiring him slightly. Reaching back slightly to pet his head for a moment with a content hum. He wondered what He would do without him anymore. Happily sitting like that for a moment until Otto leaned up to kiss his check, as he let out a soft giggle. Face flushing brightly from the kiss too. A goofy smile easily coming across his lips. It wouldn’t matter how long they have been together anyways. Albion was just smitten with him. Even more determined now to make sure The Yule Ball proposal happened today.


Albion gave a nod with a chuckle as his hand was grabbed and tugged along moving to go along with Otter with a huge grin. Using his free hand to make sure everything was in his warm coat being extremely careful not to crush his attempt at a flower crown that He had put in there…..It wasn’t the most stunning thing ever! But it was entirely the thought that counted! Right?

. “Alright!…Alright, Sugar cube lead the way” He replied with a big grin. Happily following him towards Hogsmeade, no questions asked. His nerves a little bit rising up in the back of his head, but He wasn’t going to show that too Otto.


Nope not at all!


But He was determined for it too go as smoothly as possible!



It had too! It just had to go perfectly!



He is sure that once He get’s the Yule Ball proposal done that He can relax more on the outing. He did want to check out a few spots too but whatever his sugar cube wanted to do first…..He was more than happy to oblige that first. ‘ You got this!......Keep your eye on the prize……It’s just asking a question……You can do this’ He kept saying in his head as they made their way down towards Hogsmeade to Honeyduke’s first.

The First of the School Year at Hogwarts always seemed to flow by really fast………



As it was already the day of the Hogsmeade trip! A trip that was always seemingly full of endless opportunities for the students if they took the opportunity.



Somnus had woken up bright and early that morning to start off the day right per usual. Expect He was up way earlier than probably most students due to all the steps it took him to get ready for the day. Grabbing a ponytail and tying his hair back before wandering to the bathroom to brush his teeth and do his skin care routine- Which was 15 steps. Before heading back to the room to clean up a little before getting dressed for the day. Throwing on just some pants and a black top. Which He lazily didn't button all the way before selecting jewelry for the day, which was just a necklace feeling like simplicity was needed for the day.



Finally pulling the ponytail out of his hair with a content hum before fixing it with his fingers, painstakingly moving each strand into just the right place. It had probably already been a little over an hour or so during this whole process. But that was beauty and fashion, right? It takes time and patience some days. Well for Somnus most days. Before moving to quickly slip on some patent leather shoes. Opting for the ease of a flat shoe that day. Although He did not really like how short he was without a heel. But alas not something to really bug about that day.


Let's just say being short was not entirely something that he was proud of!



Now it was time for the last few steps of the morning routine before heading down to peruse Hogsmeade. Wanting to stop and at least get a few things before probably heading back. He did not have any plans after all. Heading back early would give him some time to finish testing out some things for the upcoming Yule Ball anyhow. Gotta break in the new shoes after all. But that wasn’t entirely the top priority on his mind at the moment. He put on a little dab of concealer here or there to even out everything before adding the tiniest bit of eyeliner and mascara to make his eyes pop and finally adding some tinted chapstick. He always had to look his best right? Gotta keep up appearances!!One must always look their best in his opinion!!


After one final look over, Somnus was satisfied with how He looked. Making sure to grab his wallet and put it in his pocket and shoving a book under his arm. Ruffling some fingers through his hair one final time before heading out of the dorm, through the common room and down the many stairs and halls before finally making his way into Hogsmeade. Finding a place to sit down for a moment and just enjoy the fresh crisp air of the fall/winter season. Being from Paris, France Somnus was used to the colder weather, so it didn’t exactly bother him in the slightest. Nor did He had any plans while he was in the village so it made it so He can just enjoy the outing in any capacity.


Placing the book beside himself for the moment, He just glanced up at the sky watching the clouds move for a moment before moving to sit more comfortably with one leg crossed over another. Giving a quiet hum for a moment before grabbing the book and opening it too where He had last left it and started reading the book quietly only half paying attention to the book at the moment. It was still quite early and He had absolutely not fully woken up yet. It would take just a bit longer before the dark-haired male to fully wake up. The last little bit of sleepiness still lingering around.



He was quite certain that it would become quite crowded in Hogsmeade soon so He would enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasted. Probably was going to be full of lots and lots of people being asked to the Ball coming up soon too. So, there was no chance to read the book once things started getting busier here. He didn’t mind really it was just something to do to enjoy the quiet while it lasted as he flipped to the next page with a soft shake of his head. “Sometimes these books are so unrealistic….” He spoke quietly to himself.


Before sticking the bookmark in it and decided to go wander around for a bit. See once again what was out in Hogsmeade before deciding where to go first. Finally getting up and heading to the left.

hough Mazikeen had grown used to noisy halls of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, today was especially loud with students buzzing with excitement. After all, it wasn't everyday students were allowed the luxury of visiting the charming little village that was Hogsmeade, let alone be left to their own devices while doing so. Drowning out the excitement beyond the door of her dormitory, Mazikeen focused her attention on an enchanted quill that was sprawling down words onto a piece of parchment. The corners of the young witch's lips quirked upward in amusement, quite pleased that the charm she had coined to duplicate her homework assignments was working almost flawlessly. A Slytherin of many talents, there was seldom anything the girl was bad at... perhaps except understanding Divination. Really, what was all of that even about?

The deep sounds of bells tolling drew the young witch out of her thoughts, causing her to glance over at the grandfather clock nestled in the corner of her dorm. She let out a small noise of surprise, not realizing that she had allowed time to get away from her so quickly. It was nearly time to depart for Hogsmeade. Aside from getting changed and ready for the day that lay ahead, there was also the matter of locating Augustus James, more fondly known as "Auggie." Though, Mazikeen figured it would be an easy task, considering that the Ravenclaw lad often spent his free time, elbows deep in dirt in the herbology greenhouse. "Right, I ought to get a move on." The girl uttered to herself.

Now dressed in a white, long sleeved button up with a navy blue knitted vest thrown over, a black pleated skirt with thigh-high socks to match and her favorite pair of white sneakers, Mazikeen took one last look at herself before frowning a bit. Considering the time of year, it was likely to be quite cold out. With a small sigh, the young witch threw on her Slytherin robe and draped her matching house scarf around her neck before heading out of the dorms and toward the greenhouse.

As soon as the young lass pushed open the wooden door leading into the greenhouse, her suspicions were immediately confirmed as she spotted Auggie leaning over a box of soil and some plants. Mazikeen chuckled in amusement, sliding her wand out from the sleeve of her robe. "Wingardium Leviosa." she recited the spell, waving her wand with grace as whatever plant was in Augustus' hand began to lift into the air. "You know, you don't look like someone who's ready to go to Hogsmeade." She teased, eyeing his casual wear for a moment before dropping the plant back into the boy's hand. She slid the wand back into the sleeve of her robe before approaching Auggie. She stood on the opposite side of the table, her elbows propped up on the wood as she looked on at him with interest. "It truly amazes me how you seldom tire of playing with dirt, Auggie." The witch mused, curling a strand of long, raven-colored hair behind her ear.

"And as much as I enjoy watching you play in said dirt, I reckon we'd have more fun in Hogsmeade." Though she knew her introverted friend would need a little more than a push to leave the comfort of the glass walls around him. "We could even stop by Dogweed and Deathcap, the herbology shop if it pleases you." Maz insisted, even going so far as to give her friend "puppy-dog" eyes. There were hundreds, if not thousands, of things they could do, and being stuck in a greenhouse that smelt of sulfur and fertilizer was not an activity she was keen on.

The cold never bothered Indigo, which is clearly shown by the fact that she was wearing a skirt of all things in the month of December with snowflakes fluttering onto their garments. Indigo was the Flying professor and she also handled the Quidditch matches as well, and they loved their job of it too, and they couldn't really be considered a strict teacher. Indigo was fun, happy, and got along pretty well with most, if not all, of their students. Indigo could be rather firm with their students if needed but overall, in general, they were pretty lenient on most things like tardiness and whatnot as long as it was not a daily happening.

Indigo was supposed to chaperone some students which was fine with them considering the fact that they did get along with most students pretty easily with no trouble. In fact, they were already on their way to Hogsmeade right now. And quite honestly, the cold snow brushed off her legs like water on a duck's back, it didn't seem to faze her or make her regret her decision in clothing style for the trip. They were simply happy and elated for this trip, they're always this way whenever they go to Hogsmeade simply because they love it so much of course.

She was on her way to Hogsmeade, the heels of her shoes making an audible clicking sound with every step she took. Indigo wouldn't mind some company, in fact they would love to have someone to talk to. A small smile was gracing her lips as she could hardly contain how happy she was. Hogsmeade is a great way to relax and take a break from classes.

Cassiopeia had rolled out of bed in the morning reluctantly not really wanting to leave the warmth of the bed. The metamorphmagus was not too fond of the colder weather. She brushed her hair and teeth quickly before getting dressed in the heeled boot and short but still loose enough skirt and sweater with a cute blouse underneath it opting to wear some tights too. Making sure it was covering up just the right amount where she wouldn’t get dress-coded or something. Or just to stay within her comfort really. Putting on the tiniest bit of perfume. Before grabbing her purse and scurrying off to run down to try and get to Hogsmeade before a ton of people had arrived yet.


With most students being distracted by the bountiful things to do in Hogsmeade made it so it was the perfect time and place to set up some pranks. She knew her best friend was supposed to meet her in Hogsmeade, so she wanted to get to the spot they had planned, ahead of time to meet at before the crowds got too be too bad. Her hair flipping through several colors as she made her way out of the Gryffindor dorms and into the common room before making her way down to Hogsmeade. Running over to the alley near the Shrieking shack to await him. Her purse may have been small but it was way bigger on the inside, like many magical things were and had everything they could need for pranks. Such as her wand, glitter, several bottles of various potions that would cause short-term mayhem. Stuff mainly for practical jokes anyhow.


She hummed softly as she waited rocking back and forth on her feet thinking about all the shenanigans, they could get up too out here. She was aware professors were around out here too……. But that had never stopped this duo before. Her hair finally settling on blonde once again. Her blue eyes scanning around for her darker-haired friend to see if she could spot him. Ready to wave him down once she spotted him in the crowd of folks that were starting to arrive at Hogsmeade. She was in a mischievous mood today as usual and was ready to start a little chaos in the peaceful environment out in this quaint little village. Tapping her heels on the ground almost pacing, as she was super excited to have a little bit of fun out here and hopefully get something to drink before heading out to the school. Trying to stay warm in the cold weather as well. She didn’t exactly plan her outfit according to the weather……But her best friend was always so stylish, so she felt like she wanted to try too as well. She had found something at least she felt was stylish anyways.


She also knew that probably a ton of people would get asked to go to the Yule Ball this week too so it would be in their best interest to at least not prank during that. She was a little bit of a romantic. She’d want to be asked in a cheesy way herself but as far as she was concerned no one was going to ask her anyway. She was okay going by herself. She could hang out with friends anyway. If they weren’t entirely distracted by dates themselves anyhow. She kept rising onto her toes trying to look for Asher hoping that He would arrive soon. Or She would start without him soon. Moving to slip her wand out of her purse as she spun the wand in her hand. “Where is he?” She mumbled a bit impatiently wanting to get started to cause some mischief in the now less than quiet Hogsmeade as it was full of students and staff from Hogwarts at this point.

Auggie had woken up bright and early to get down to the Greenhouse, getting dressed in some comfortable clothing, just a white button up a vest and some pants and some shoes before running down to the Greenhouse not taking any chance to talk to anyone else to get things ready for planting some new seedlings. He adored helping out in that glass building wherever he could more than happy to get dirty if It had something to do with plants or Herbology. Luckily the greenhouse was a little warmer than outside so He was able to roll up his sleeves and grab a shovel and leaned over to get to work digging some holes for the seedlings. Before standing up and wiping his forehead with a happy sigh.


Nothing could beat gardening for him – Well that is at least what He thought entirely for years. Well that had recently changed mentally for him. He moved over to grab the seedlings and place them onto the table before taking one plant out and leaned over once again to gently start the place the plant into the soil not hearing the door opening behind him. Only looking up when He heard a certain Slytherin girl’s voice and saw the plant moving out of his hand. He looked over his shoulder at her with a soft chuckle as the plant landed back into his hand before gently placing it down before moving to turn to face her. “Well you know very well that I can’t dress nearly as fashion forward as you Mazikeen” He replied with a shake of his head in a playful tone.



Well, he really didn’t own anything many would consider stylish anyhow. Preferring an earthly toned, comfortable wardrobe. Moving to gently taking his wand out of his pocket and quickly cast the charm to finish planting everything else before slipping it back into his pocket so He could talk with her. “ What can I say……I love learning about plants” He replied simply with a nod. Moving to gently pick a flower out of another container filled with flowers and went to go bring it over to her and offered it out with a gentle smile.



“ For you” He replied simply leaving the matter at that. He had grown a little fond of her over the past few months at school. Having worked together on things that had them form an interesting friendship and the fact that she brought out a different side of him that wasn’t a bad thing. Offering the flower fully out to her with a slight wink before leaning against the table a bit himself. Listening to her speak once more before thinking for a moment, tapping his fingers onto the table softly with a hum. “Hmm well maybe……...” He replied starting out before allowing her to speak again. The thought of popping by the Herbology stop did pique his interest so He did nod for a second before He noticed her giving him the puppy dog eyes. His cheeks flushed a bit for the moment before giving a nod. “Alright!! Alright! We can go!” He replied unable to resist the puppy dog eyes especially from her.







Taking a breath before pushing himself off the table before going to wash his hands before rolling down his sleeves and going to walk back over to her. Offering his hand out to the door politely. “ After you?”

Normally Cedar wasn't an early bird. Yet there were certain days that they could make an exception for. Their eyes shot open when they heard other students in their dormitory move about and Cedar quickly sat up and jumped out of bed, stumbling over their bedsheets causing a few studnets to chuckle. Cedar gave a small smile before going to their chest and looked for something to wear. In th end, Cedar had pulled out mostly black clothing, jeans, a black shirt tucked in, black shoes and combat boots, and the fit was begging for color. So they did the only logcial solution, and pulled out an old hawaii shirt, one that was once their dad's in fact. Since Cedar came out, their parents spend extra time making sure they had clothing that they would be comfortable in. While they were very confused about the whole pronoun thing, they tried their best really, and Cedar couldn't ask for much else.
Finally, Cedar would throw on a jacket overtop everything (also black) then waved to their dormmates and pratically skipped out the door to go meet up with not just their study buddy and friend. They really needed to help from the ravenclaw. It took a while to find oen who would be paitent with themself, afteer all Cedar was very easily distracted and didn't do well with sitting but after talking to various professors, and head of the hosues, somehow somewhere along the line they med Clarissa.
From the gryffindor tower, they made their way up ot the 5th floor to come to a wooden door with no handel and an eagle knob that began to speak, to as a question, a riddle as thats what many ravenclaws members have to answer.
"Oh bloody hell, stop that! You should know me be by now. You should also know I cannot answer any of the riddles you give me!"
Cedar said rather loudly and proceeded to knock on the door.
"Hey! Claire! CLARISSA! CLAAAREEEE!"
They pounded on the door a few times, both paintings around and the eagle door knocker yelling at Cedar to stop.
They rolled their eyes and stepped back form the ravenclaw dormitory entrance arms folded as they looked at the eagle door knocker, debating if they could magic their way in, soon their hands going to their hand and began to pull it out.
"If you think you're going to magic your way in, I can tell you right now it wont work! You always do this!" A near by painting scolded who has unforuntely witnessed Cedar go through this numerous times already. "For heavens sake, put that wand away!"
"Oh shut up! Then help me get in! The bloody eagle hasn't said the riddle cause I cut it off."
The painting rolled their eyes before wandering off and Cedar threw their arms in the air and pointed their wand at the door anyways.
"Oh I dont know, alohomora!"
And as expected, it didnt work.

Algernon had been up for awhile deciding to use some of the quiet from most of the students being at Hogsmeade already for a quick once over of some of his studies. Donning instead of his Hogwarts uniform, a crisp white button up shirt with a brown knitted vest on the top with some Corduroy brown pants and a belt some white socks and dress shoes. His curly dirty blonde hair was a little messy, but it was kind of hard to tame curls nor did He really ever pay too much mind into it. Being clean and smelling nice were more important than hair landing just the right way.


After the quick study session, He got up with a stretch and yawn rising to his full height before striding right out the common room past the kitchens and great hall. Heading straight to check the library to see if Nico was in the library. He was going to get the Ravenclaw to go with him to Hogsmeade. Fresh air would do them both some good, right? Pushing open the heavy doors to the library with a big smile. “Nico?! You in here?” He called out rather loudly looking around for the dark-haired Ravenclaw. Figuring the library was mostly empty by this point anyhow. Shoving his hands into his pockets as He walked around before finally spotting him and running over. “ Hey! You are coming with me to Hogsmeade right?!” He asked excitedly, the smile never leaving his face. Algernon was quite the friendly guy anyhow.

Reaching over to grab the other by the hand not even giving an opportunity for the other to answer. “ Then come on ! Let’s get a move on it before all the good stuff there is gone! “ He quipped excitedly dragging the other along with him with long strides for awhile before finally slowly down a bit glancing back at him for a moment giving a quick nod. “ How’s your morning been anyhow?” He asked trying to keep the conversation going even though it was mostly him talking excitedly at this point. Algernon was very friendly and easily excited and it was a wonder how the other even tolerated his energy at times. But hey friendships a funny thing right! As they finally made it too Hogsmeade as Algernon let go of Nico’s wrist with a nod.


“ Where do you wanna go first? Or we could just wander around and see?!” He asked turning around to face the other.

azikeen couldn’t help the wide grin spreading across her features at Auggie’s remark regarding his wardrobe. “Please, Auggie, I’d hardly expect anyone to dress as ‘fashion forward’ as me.” She mused, chocolate orbs focusing on the Ravenclaw as he casted a charm with the flick of his wrist. The raven-haired girl hummed with interest as the plants and soil floated about each other, moving as if they had minds of their own until they were planted firmly in the holes the lad had dug shortly before Mazikeen’s arrival.

There were few wizards or witches alike that had managed to catch the young Slytherin’s attention throughout her years at Hogwarts, yet one herbology project and a few months later… and Augustus James seemed to have a mysterious affect on her. Looking over his fluffy hair and oversized, but admittedly comfortable attire, and his gentle nature, she supposed it wasn’t much of a surprise things had turned out as they did.

Not that she had any complaints.

Mazikeen watched with curiosity as the lad moved away from the large, wooden table and towards a planter full of colorful flora of all colors, shapes and sizes. “For me?” She couldn’t help the small giggle that slipped past her cherry-tinted lips followed by the unwitting blush that began to spread across her features. Embarrassing. Nonetheless, the Slytherin girl accepted his gesture and slid the pretty flower behind her ear, tucked gently between dark strands of hair. “You’re a proper gentleman, Auggie. Thank you.”

As soon as the male gave in to her demands to go to Hogsmeade, Mazikeen displayed a triumphant smile, clearly satisfied with herself. If there was one thing Augustus could not resist, it was puppy-dog eyes. No matter how worn the tactic was, it always seemed to work on the sixth year. “Finally,” she cheered, skipping happily toward the door after the lad had finished washing his hands. “Crack on then; to Hogsmeade!”

After some time, the two finally emerged at the outskirts of Hogsmeade. The air was cold, as to be expected considering the fragile snowflakes that peppered their hair and clothes. Blowing out a breath of hot air, Mazikeen rubbed the tip of her nose that was tinged red from the crisp air nipping at her skin. “It’s bloody cold out, even with a robe and scarf.” She whined quietly before turning to her companion.

“Where to first? The herbology shop? Or perhaps Honeydukes? It wouldn’t be a proper trip without some sweets.” Maz mused, the corners of her lips quirking upward as she noticed the smallest of flakes sitting benevolently on the lad’s eyelashes. “I’m sure my mum would appreciate it if we’d pop by her potions shop as well.” She uttered, mostly to herself.

As the two ventured onward into Hogsmeade, the Slytherin's mind began to wander towards the events of the previous months and how the two had quickly become unlikely friends. "Would you have ever imagine we'd become as close as we are now?" She asked suddenly, a timid smile forming on her lips. "Sorry--I still think it's strange we get on as well as we do." Maz admitted with a small chuckle. "N-Not that it's a bad thing though!" She finished quickly.

Please Mazikeen, just stop talking for once. Her mind practically begged.

Something was different in the air at Hogwarts today. What exactly, Alethea could not figure out. Perhaps it was due to the fact her torso was sprawled over dozens of potions assignments she had been grading prior to falling asleep in a not-so-graceful manner. Or perhaps it was the fact that she had been wallowing in disappointment from how atrocious some of her students were at these alchemy projects. What was so hard about following specifically laid out instructions and throwing ingredients into a cauldron? Potions was an exact art; a subtle science that could bottle fame, brew glory or even stopper death… (winkwink) It was truly an underappreciated skill and class among the majority of students.

A shame, really.

“Professor Gage.”

It was an off-day wasn’t it? No instruction or classes being held? She must’ve imagined it.

“Professor Gage.”

Her imagination was starting to get on her nerves.

“Hello? Professor?”

Finally, Alethea forced open her eyes, immediately wincing as the stiffness in her neck spread lower into her shoulders as well from the uncomfortable position she found herself in. The potions professor let out a small, but audible groan as she straightened herself out, her vision still blurred from the heaviness of sleep that had overtaken her. She blinked. Once, twice, and then a third time before she could finally make out the smaller figure on the opposite end of her desk. “Oh,” the woman sighed, recognizing the figure to be one of her younger students. “Yes, Miss Lange, apologies. Lots of papers to be graded; easy to lose track of time. Did you need something?”

“Nothing, ma’am. I was sent over by one of the other professors to check on you as it is Hogsmeade weekend.” The young lass replied.

Ah yes, Hogsmeade weekend. Something that almost all students, third year and up looked forward to as they were mostly unsupervised to do as they pleased in the humble little village just outside of Hogwarts. Ah, yes. The same trip she had volunteered to supervise.

Ah. So that is what was different about today. The realization hit the professor like a rogue Quidditch bludger, prompting her to rise suddenly to her feet. The young student immediately stumbled backward, alarmed by the sudden change in demeanor. “Right. Hogsmeade. Thank you Miss Lange, you may go.” Alethea practically shooed off the student, gesturing with her hands until she was gone.

The woman let out a sigh, this time much louder. Well, she supposed those students couldn’t chaperone themselves. With a wave of her wand, Alethea charmed a quill to finish grading the seemingly endless stack of papers on her desk. What was the point of being a professor at a school of magic if she did not take advantage of said magic? Another flick of her wand and the loose papers and books scattered about her somewhat chaotic office began to organize themselves back into its proper places. Satisfied with her handiwork, Alethea grabbed her cloak off the coat rack near the door to her office and draped it firmly around her shoulders before leaving the potions room.

Though she had a relatively late start to Hogsmeade day, Alethea, being a rather tall woman standing at 5 '10, had managed to catch up quite easily to the trail of students shuffling their way through the snow. She could make out a few familiar faces among students, like Mazikeen Selwyn, one of her star seventh-year pupils, and even Augustus James who fared quite well academically. Albion Kinghorn, who more or less managed to pass potions and Otto Fischer, who openly despised her class and whose turned-in assignments reflected that as well. A small chuckle left Alethea’s throat at the thought. She’d let them all be for now. But once they stepped foot in her classroom… The excitement and joy of Hogsmeade and the upcoming Yule ball would be long forgotten in an instant.

Yes, Alethea was that professor. Students either hated or loved her class; there was no in between.

In the midst of students, she spotted a familiar head of short blonde hair, easily recognizing them as Indigo Greengrass, the flying instructor. Though Alethea didn’t usually go out of her way to make conversation with others, she figured it would make the day at Hogsmeade a little less mundane.

“Indigo,” she called out to the fellow professor, quickly catching up to the other in a few strides. “you look as though you're in high spirits.” The professor mused; an almost half-hearted attempt to strike up conversation.

Auggie gave a small smile as She accepted his flower offering and placed it in her hair. Finally noticing the blush creeping across her face, making his small grin grow a little more as His own cheeks flushed a bit. “No thanks needed…….A beautiful flower for an even more stunning lady” He stated pretty matter of factly with a chuckle moving to rub the back of his neck nervously. The last couple of months of growing closer did have him noticing the one year above him Slytherin girl more……Well more than He did before. She was beautiful and He was almost certain most guys probably had a crush on her at some point or other? It would be rather foolish if they haven’t don’t you think? Well if they swung that way anyway.


Giving a quick nod, shoving his hands into his pockets to protect them from the cold as He followed her out of the Greenhouse towards Hogsmeade. She definatly had found his weakness with the puppy dog eyes to even get him to leave the comfort of his plants. Walking beside her quietly for the time being, occasionally glancing over at her from time to time as they walked towards the little village of Hogsmeade.


Letting out a breath that was shown in the air as They stood together on the outside of the village as He glanced over at her. Shivering a bit himself as the weather was snowier than He pictured, and He wasn’t wearing any outer layers. “Definitely a chilly day” He agreed with a nod stepping closer to her for warmth hoping she wouldn’t mind. As he would step away if it made her uncomfortable. “ You can absolutely pick where we are heading first….All I care in this moment is getting out of the cold” He chuckled softly glancing over at her. Admiring quietly how the snow laid upon her dark raven locks. Causing his cheeks to flush a bit more. Shaking his head to will his face not to stay so red. “ But some sweets do sound nice” He agreed in return. When he heard her mention her mother too , He blinked slowly. “ Do you think perhaps your mother would have some warming potions or something of the like……That may do us some good in this snowy weather” He replied softly.



Walking alongside her into Hogsmeade glancing around at the array of students already inside the village. Talking and walking all over the place it seems. But He still couldn’t help glancing over at her on occasion stopping to shake his hair a couple of time to shake the snow out. Moving to follow her to whichever place she wanted to check out first, listening to her talk. “Hmm? Well I guess I never really expected us to get this close yeah…...Different years and houses and all…….But you challenged me academically and you know that was nice…..” He replied with an awkward chuckle trying to think of the best words to use and failing in that moment as his gaze kept getting lost looking at her. Letting out a small breath. “ And no for sure! It’s definitely not a bad thing yeah…….I think it’s kinda swell” He replied with a smile. Directing it at her that time.

Asher never really looked forward to the annual December Hogsmeade trip. Like come on, why does it have to be in December? What’s so special about it? The only good thing about it was the endless opportunities to cause trouble and pull pranks on other people. This is the only reason why Asher is planning on going to Hogsmeade — to meet up with his bestie Cassiopeia and cause some mischief. They’re Hogwarts local troublemaking duo. Trio if you count the fact that Asher always drags Somnus into the chaos.

Asher was gathering up the energy to roll himself out of bed, a warm bed that he had to leave if he wanted to go cause trouble at Hogsmeade. It’s so cold. Asher should have worn warmer pajamas to bed. The Gryffindor walked over to the trunk where he kept all of his clothes. If he’s going to be cussing trouble, then he’s going to have to look his best. Red is always a must when it comes to Asher’s outfits. And Asher wouldn’t be caught in public not looking his absolute best. Some might mistake Asher for a pureblood because of how he dresses so fancy.

In front of the mirror, Asher looked for any excuse to pick at their clothes, pulling at the sleeves to smoothen them out. Asher paid even more attention to his hair, making sure it was well combed and well kept. When Asher was done with smoothing out his stylish outfit, he walked over to his bed and grabbed his wand from the nightstand. Mr.Feathers, his barn owl, was nowhere to be seen at the moment. They stuffed their wand in their pants pocket and began to leave the dorms to head outside.

A smoke before going to Hogsmeade. Asher dig around in his pocket for a cigarette. It’s not a good idea to smoke indoors.

A flick of the wand and the cigarette was lit. Perfect. What are the professors going to do? Stomp on their cigarettes and scold them for smoking? Absolutely not, Asher won’t let them. Asher leaned their head back to rest against the wall and their eyes closed for a moment. A drag of the cigarette and a blow of smoke out into the cold, chilly air.

Asher wasn’t sure how long he stood there in the chill, but he felt content enough to go to Hogsmeade. Asher doused out the cigarette in the snow, crushing it with their foot to make sure it was out. Time to go to Hogsmeade and meet up with Cass.

Well, obviously Asher is going to be dragging Somnus along with him to Hogsmeade. It’s what he does of course.

“Somnus,” Asher greeted as he approached his Slytherin friend. Somnus can join Ash and Cass on their troublemaking spree. "Are you going to Hogsmeade? I'm going there to meet up with Cass. You should come with." Asher spoke calmly to the Slytherin. The more troublemakers the merrier! And Somnus never tattled on Asher and Cass so that's a plus. The Gryffindor reached to take Somnus' hand to drag him with him - just two bro friends holding hands.

Boots crunched the snow underneath as Asher was dragging Somnus towards Hogsmeade in search of Cassiopeia; they shouldn’t keep her waiting. But it’s not like Asher is in a hurry or anything. He is simply looking for his bestie! It's not too crowded yet so spotting Cass shouldn't be that hard right now.

“Cass,” Asher called out to his troublemaking bestie. Hopefully he hadn’t been keeping her waiting for too long. "Love your outfit." Asher commented, they're simply complenting their bestie on her fashion. After all, Asher didn’t want to miss out on any troublemaking. “Sorry if we kept you waiting Cass.” Yes, we. Him and Somnus, of course. "Shall we start the troublemaking?'

Somnus had been heading his own way towards a shop into Hogsmeade, Before He heard the other boy calling out to him. Making him stop and turn around looking at the other up and down for a moment briefly biting his lip. Giving a brief nod in return in greeting as his composure was slowly drifting away. “H-Hi Asher…...tu es magnifique aujourd'hui” He managed to say simply before a blush spread across his cheeks. Asher was always so well dressed and that shade of red always just looked so good on that boy. Or in Somnus’ opinion is just wow. Not the best with words around this boy at all……Giving a quick nod in answer to his question being at a loss for words at that moment. Awkwardly nodding for sure. Why was this boy always making him so flustered as of late?.......Never had he liked someone before him that made him this flustered and awkward. But something about Asher just made him a blushing, fumbling mess......It was a wonder He hadn't walked into a wall staring at him yet....That was a mystery in itself.


And Asher grabbing his hand to hold was the thing that finally fully dissipated his composure for certain. He was eternally screaming at this point as their hands touched. His cheeks only getting redder by the second. As Asher started dragging him into Hogsmeade, He followed in suit constantly glancing down at the hands intertwined together. “ Ah, joli garçon qui me tient la main... ah... est-ce que je rêve ?...... Est-ce réel?” He stammered outloud in French reverting back into his native tongue since He was super nervous and did not want to think too much in that moment. “ Glancing up from staring at the hands to glance up at the other. His free hand moving to brush a stray hair from his own hair behind his ear out of habit. Eyes slowly moving over to go glance at the other again quietly admiring him for a moment before they met up with Cassiopeia. Giving an awkward wave with his free hand. “ Bonjour” He replied in greeting still a bit stuck in the French mode. It was definitely going to take awhile to get back his composure........." Oh mon Dieu, main douce........Douce.......Ah.......J'ai l'air d'un idiot en ce moment, n'est-ce pas ?” He mumbled still aloud. Eyes focused on the hands and back up at his face briefly before looking away nervously.


He hoped that she wouldn’t look too deeply into how He was acting around Asher. It wasn’t that He was exactly subtle around the other boy. But He wasn’t quite ready for the other to know about it yet……. Not yet at all……...Not wanting to ruin a friendship even if He was an awkward one most of the time. The last thing Somnus wanted right now is to lose a friend over this. Nor did He had any knowledge if the other even thought of him as any more than a friend anyhow. That still remained a mystery.

s the two journeyed onward to Hogsmeade, the Slytherin girl couldn’t help but to let out a small laugh as she took in Auggie’s appearance again. As comfortable as he looked in his oversized clothing, there was one thing that was lacking… warmth. She had been so keen on dragging him out of the greenhouse, she hadn’t even noticed his lack of outerwear. “You’re a bit mad going out into the snow without a jumper.” She mused. “But I suppose that means we’ll have to go to the Honeydukes first. I reckon they’ll have warm sweets for the weather.”

A shy smile formed on Mazikeen’s lips as Augustus stepped closer to her in an attempt to get warm, their arms bumping gently into one another. She grew increasingly aware of Auggie’s gaze, causing her to swing her head in the opposite direction to hide the growing blush on her rosy cheeks. Despite her appearances, Maz loathed feeling like a young schoolgirl again, crushing on boys at the playground. She felt quite silly, but at least found solace in noticing she was not alone in her feelings… Even if neither party were brave enough to admit it. But the girl simply could not allow the other the satisfaction of knowing what kind of effect he had on her… despite it being quite obvious. “I’m sure my mum has potions of the like. She’s kind of like a potions master, if you will. That’s how I got so good.” She boasted with a grin.

Now inside the heart of Hogsmeade, the two found themselves surrounded by students and residents alike bustling about, moving eagerly from one shop to the other. Mazikeen had become quite fond of the quaint village, even more so when her mother had chosen to set up shop there (though she definitely could have gone without the close-proximity to the school. Weren’t howlers embarrassing enough?) “Swell, huh?” She repeated, almost amused by his choice of words but touched by the sentiment behind them. “Well, I certainly fancy you more than others, Auggie.” Maz said, returning his smile.

The Slytherin girl easily maneuvered around the bustling streets and at one point, had subconsciously grabbed onto Auggie’s hand as to not lose him in the crowd. Though she hadn’t realized this until they were outside of the stone and green-detailed building that was the infamous Honeydukes. She glanced down at their touching hands and immediately pulled away, almost as if she were startled by the fact.

Maz let out a short, nervous chuckle. “S-Sorry, didn’t want to lose you back there.” She said rather quickly, almost stumbling over her own feet as she pulled open the door. Bloody hell, Mazikeen. Can you be any more of a nit? She thought, exasperated with herself.

As soon as they stepped inside the warm shop, the sweet aroma of chocolate and freshly-baked pastries filled their senses, seemingly washing away Mazikeen’s worries and awkwardness. “It’s brilliant!” She enthused, her eyes wide with excitement. “I hope they have toffees!” Without even waiting for Auggie’s input, Maz quickly found her way to a bin full of nougats, seeing an assortment of those made with caramel, nuts, almonds and even honey.

She grabbed one from the sampler platter, unwrapping the creamy chunk filled with caramel and popping it into her mouth. “Bloody brilliant.” She sighed happily, holding one up to the lad with a delighted smile. “Care to try one?”

Clarissa had woken up early that morning, with a big stretch and a cute yawn. Sitting up in bed in her big fuzzy pajamas. Her dark brown hair tied up in a bun on top of her head.” Today is going to be a great day!” She told herself in the most confident tone she could muster going to go wash her face and put on a little bit of mascara and lipgloss. Which was about the only makeup she knew how to use at the moment. She slowly slipped out of bed with a sigh and wrapped herself up in her blanket before placing her stuffed animal back on her bed. “ You stay here Sir Piggles” She told the stuffed pig before going to pick out her clothing for the day. Peering out the window to check the weather before moving to grab a cute white blouse, pink fuzzy sweater, black skirt , and fleece lined tights and some pink mary janes as well.


She quickly got dressed putting each piece on and checking to make sure that She still liked the outfit in the mirror before she was finally dressed giving herself a cute smile. Before grabbing her cloak that she made herself over the summer and drapping it over herself before grabbing her bag to carry in case she wanted to purchase something in Hogsmeade. She blushed for a moment in sheer panic when she realized Cedar was coming to get her so they could head down together. She gasped frantically waving her arms and as she down the stairs of the dorms to the common room. Hearing some noises coming outside the door to the common room. Recognizing Cedar’s voice immediately. She opened the door to peak out for a second nervously before closing it again and taking a deep breath to calm herself. Before finally walking out the door to join the other student. Giving a polite wave. Taking a deep breath. “ S-sorry for keeping you w-waiting…..” She replied very quietly just loud enough for the other to hear here. She was a bit of a nervous gal……Super meek and shy and She was trying her best.


“ I-I am ready to go w-whenever you are C-cedar’’ She added softly moving to hold her arms behind her back as she rocked on her feet trying to keep herself from having an anxiety attack. She knew that she was safe with the other and much preferred if Cedar would do most of the talking today. Clutching her bag with her as She gave a meek smile. Nodding towards the hall to head the way towards Hogsmeade. She was excited for the outing despite her outward appearance. A cute bow also tying half of her hair back as well. The 5th year Ravenclaw ready to make her debut in Hogsmeade.

Cassiopeia had ended up leaning against the wall of the alley, She was standing in staring up into the snowy sky for a moment. After rifling her purse to make sure that she had brought everything for troublemaking and pranking with her. Still spinning her wand in her hand with a small hum now actually pacing back in forth. The boringness of waiting to do something was finally getting to the Gryffindor girl. Patience wasn’t exactly a trait she possessed. Nor did she actually wanted to acquire said trait anyhow either!

Moving to just walked along the alley before turning around and walking back the other way spinning her wand in her hand. She was itching to cause some trouble sooner rather than later anyhow!!! She might go off and do something herself if she wasn’t joined soon.

When she heard the nickname only a select few people called her before looking up and finally saw her bestie, Asher. She waved over at him for a brief moment before noticing the other boy with him. Raising an eyebrow for a moment really only have been expecting Asher but it wasn’t like the Slytherin boy hadn’t joined them before so She shrugged it off. Placing her wand back into her purse for the moment. Moving to give the other two boys space. Feeling a bit relieved to finally get up to some trouble. Was one of the few things that made this school worth it of course!

“ Oh hey Asher! And friend” She replied with a nod. She knew the other boy Somnus’ name she just very rarely decided to use it. “ Thank you……You always look fantastic as well” She replied giving a smile and a slight spin as she was quite proud of her outfit choice today. “ Nah not waiting to long…..Yes let’s begin!” She nodded moving to empty out the content of her bag quickly grabbing her wand.


“ I brought all of this with me just in case” She replied as a bunch of the most common pranking supplies came spilling out of her bag.” But we could also use the snow to our advantage too” She added with a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. “ I’ve heard way too much lovey dovey stuff out here…….Time to get some different reactions out here” She chuckled softly with a shrug. Though deep down she would have loved to been asked to the Yule Ball. But she was only a 5th year so she had plenty of time to get asked one year.


Her hair changed from the platinum blonde to several other colors before landing on blue. “ Or I could always use my natural abililities too?” She added loving using her metamorphmagus abilities when she can. It was the thing that made her feel special after all. She glanced over at Somnus raising an eyebrow before looking back at Asher. “ Is He alright?.........I don’t understand anything that is leaving his mouth?”

So, alright, it's not profound. To be fair, Nico made it up when he was eleven... Plus, they never claimed to be Lewis Carroll level of introspectional—just inspirational. No rabbit holes here, just unmixed genes wreaking havoc on their dollish descendant. It's very important Nico stick to his little motto, you see, ever since he was able to speak and came up with it himself. The consequence of which has him constantly teetering on his own moral scale between darling or dangerous...

They're his father's son and their mother's daughter, a godforsaken blessing and god-willing nightmare. Bastard son and prodigal daughter, toeing a line of disappointment only the spawn of infidelity could conjure in their mind's eye. To dwell on it means to accept it, to accept means to live it. Breathe it.

There are better ways to spend one's time.

Perusing the school library was not one of them.

Despite what people might think of Nico, their status as Ravenclaw hardly constituted any excitement for the catacombs that were the Hogwarts Library. But he couldn't be less excited to be going on this fucking trip.

Ten-thirty in the morning and Nico had dragged himself from their dorm room, half-assedly dressed for the bitter weather, a cold that seemed to seep through his bones. They catch a reflection of themself in one of the library's many glinting panes of colored glass.

Nico sees the same thing they always do: blue eyes a little too blue to be considered just another pair of blue eyes, pitch black hair he inherited from their dads's mother, Helena, and the skin pale enough to burn and never tan. He liked looking at himself, and looking at the same reflection because it could very well be the last time he looked at himself. Or so he so melodramatically reasoned in his very fucked up, and very morbid, brain.

Nimble fingers made easy work of reading, flipping to a random page for the hell of it. He was barely a paragraph into The Curiosities of the Human Brain when their ears rang with the sound of wood creaking on old frames, the library doors groaning at the weight of jostled elbows and overeager first years. Blueberry eyes shot up to catch a glimpse of familiar dirty blonde ringlets under candlelight.

Algernon Ainsley II was not for the faint of heart.

His voice was heard before Nico properly saw him. A cheery, haplessly happy tone that draws crowds and eager ears, utterly polarizing to the soul. They watch as the Hufflepuff navigates the maze of books, silently amused at the nest of curls that bobbed as he walked, almost regally, in the direction of the circle of tables where Nico had taken refuge. The dreaded question leaves Algernon's lips, Hogsmeade, and paints an almost unintelligible scowl across his lips. Like cracked porcelain, the frown stained his face with scorn, the idea of a class trip sounds ungodly unproductive, enough to stir him from sleeping well into the afternoon.

Algernon's smile seemed to singe sunlight into Nico's being, irksome and impossibly contagious. His lips parted, heaving a sigh that followed, "you don't actually expect me to sign up for that shit?" Of course, their father had decidedly signed them up for the field trip anyway, on some insistence that he couldn't spend his final year at Hogwarts 'lazing about', as Ibrahim liked to call it.

The Ravenclaw resisted the urge to swat at the hand clasped around his wrist, dragged out of his chair whether he was willing or not. "Algy," he seethed, voice floating hardly above a whisper despite the empty library. "Merlin's trousers, I'm not gonna float away." He remarked at the boy's grip, steadily dragging Nico away from the book he had unfortunately left face down on the table. He could only imagine the nasty fold forming down the spine as the pair trailed behind the crowd exiting the main doors, falling in with the other students eager to escape the suffocating stone walls.

Despite the cacophony of voices floating through the schoolyard, Nico managed to catch Algernon's question, one that hardly constituted an answer. He shrugged his shoulders, staring out at the snowy patches of grass in front of him. "I dunno, been pretty bland if you ask me. A bit shit," his head lulled to the side to peer up at Algernon through his choppy bangs. "'Aven't had anything to eat yet, you?" He asked, swinging their hands a bit as they walked. Of course, to anyone in their right mind, they couldn't up and grab Nico's hand without a fuss, but he seemed reluctantly at peace with the weather being as cold as it was, and as poorly as he had dressed.

The pair finally broke off as they approached the strip of shops and stores, windows glinting despite their frosty haze. Nico couldn't remember the last time he had set foot in Hogsmeade Square, let alone the last time he had left his dorm room in between classes (willingly). Teeth chattering from the cold, the Ravenclaw was quick to make a decision for the both of them, stiffly pointing in the direction of Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop. Despite the shop's absurdly painted pink accents, he had a feeling- more so an inclination, that a hot cup of tea would wield off any hypothermia that threatened to wreck the holiday season.

Auggie gave a smile with a shrug. “ I wasn’t originally planning to go to Hogsmeade how was I supposed to prepare” He replied simply with chuckle. “ It’s alright though…..Plenty of shops here for me to get a jumper if needed” He added. “Honeyduke’s sounds like a good start though!” He mused softly, glancing at her with a grin. Trying to keep his flushed cheeks at bay as He also glanced away for a moment. Hoping to regain some of his own composure. Clearing his throat for a moment. “ Well you are certainly fantastically brilliant at potions so I am sure she must be a genius at them!” He replied with a nod.

Once He had given himself a moment to regain his composure. He moved to face his gaze forward occasionally glancing the gaze at her as well. Giving a soft smile when she mentioned that she fancied him. “Well I fancy you too……” He replied softly meaning to say it in his head but saying it out loud. Following her quickly as they headed towards the sweets shop to see what warm sweet, they could find. He glanced over as He felt her hand clasp his and He blushed again and gently squeezed her hand fondly in return and gave a soft smile when She finally let go. Moving to wave a hand in dismissal of it. “ Do not worry about it Maz……Your more than welcome to do that” He replied softly. Trying to show that it didn’t bother him and she did not have to apologize on bit.

Letting out a soft breath before entering the shop alongside her. He glanced around at the shop. Moving a hand up to brush some of the snow and frost out of his hair and rubbed his hands together to try and warm up as much as He could before walking further into the shop. Looking around the shop himself as He finished combing his fingers through his hair to get it back into the fluffy mess it was. Not that on occasion , He attempted to tame it. Before looking around to see where she headed before moving to follow her. “ It smells bloody fantastic in here” He replied with a nod breathing in the warm pasteries and other sweets as they walked.

As they made there way over to the nougats. Smiling softly happy to see her enjoying the candy as His gaze wandered to see where the baked goods where wanting to pick some of those up before they left the shop. Stepping closer to her to see what the options for the nougat was. “ I think they do have toffees here but I am not 100% sure” He replied with a nod. Watching her curiously as she enjoyed the special treat. Enjoying the fact she seemed so content as she enjoyed it. It definitely warmed his heart to see such a thing.


Raising an eyebrow in surprise as her offer. “ Oh? Yes please” He nodded with a smile as He reached over to take the sample treat from her before unwrapping it and taking a bite. His eyes lighting up as well. “ Mhmm that is indeed delicious!”

Sugar Cube.

Albion’s nickname for Otto. A nickname that Otto loved so much and just hearing it would make Otto’s heart melt. It’s a cute nickname. Albion and Otto really are just cheesy, dorky boyfriends. And Otto really does drag Albi everywhere with him. The prefect wouldn’t be surprised if they got voted as cutest couple at Hogwarts.

They are.

There’s no lack of smiles and laughter with these two. Always happy. Amazing sunshine duo. And them being in two different houses didn’t stop them.

Anyways….

It’s Honeyduke’s time!

Otto had a firm grip on Albion’s hand as the prefect led the two of them out of the Slytherin dorms and out of the Slytherin Common Room. There was a cheesy, big grin on Otto’s lips as it was hard for the prefect to contain otters excitement about going to Hogsmeade with otters boyfriend. Honeyduke’s and then Brews and Stews and then whatever Albion wanted to do! But for now, it’s going along with what Otto wanted to do for the first part of the Hogsmeade trip.

A whole bunch of students were heading off to Hogsmeade. Otto had to weave his way through other students just to get outside.

Yikes, it’s so cold outside! Why is it so cold? Otto can’t wait to get inside the warm shop of Honeyduke’s. Snow crunched underneath his sneakers as he was leading the way towards Hogsmeade — it’s too cold. They should hurry. With Albion’s hand in his, Otto eagerly skipped his way towards Honeyduke’s.

Some might call Honeyduke’s a place of diabetes but Otto disagreed with this. Otters mouth watered at the sight of the sweets shop and all of the sweets that were on display at the windows. Otters heaven. A sweet lover’s heaven. Gods, he loved this place so much and he could stay here all day. “Come on Albi!” Otto urged, pulling otters boyfriend along, determined to get there before it got too crowded.

Otto is so hyper and excited.

“After this, we’re going to Brews and Stews for some coffee and more sweets!” Otto piped up cheerfully, turning to look at otters boyfriend who otter was still pulling along with otter. It didn’t take long for otter to locate Honeyduke’s and otter quickened otters pace to get there quicker.

The animagus was greeted with the warmth of the shop and the sweet, sugary aroma in the air. It wasn’t too crowded; Otto’s not a fan of crowds. He let go of Albion’s hand to rush towards where the best sweets were. Mice Pops, Saltwater Taffy, Licorice Wands and more. He eagerly looked at all of the sweets, wondering which ones he should pick out. Otto must choose carefully! If Otto was alone, he would have definitely shoplifted sweets and not been paying for them. But, Albion is with him so Otto will not be stealing sweets today. Sad.

The Slytherin prefect looked at the many different sweets, taking care to avoid the Chocolate Frogs. Otto’s not a fan of those.

The pine marten picked out a sugar quill; Otto had a habit of chewing on things like quills. He let out a soft hum as he wandered down the aisles, looking at the various sweets. A licorice wand for chewing on alongside the sugar quill, saltwater taffy and pumpkin pasties for when he can’t sleep. Otto is going to be taking otters sweet time with picking out what otter wanted. After all, Otto’s not sure when the next time otters next trip to Hogsmeade will be.

So, Otto is obviously going to make the most of this.

Albion happily follow Otto out from the Slytherin dorms and commons room heading towards Hogsmeade and Honeydukes with a smile across his face squeezing his hand softly as he threaded his fingers together with Otter’s with a small hum on his lips. Going over his whole plan to ask the other to the Yule Ball once more in his head. He had to wait till Otto was distracted enough with the sweets to be able to ask the question. His heart was thumping in anticipation of asking the cute Slytherin to the Yule Ball. Yes….They were already dating but it was still a nerve wrecking thing! Glancing at Otter happily as He was practically pulled along the path to the cute little village near Hogwarts. Not that he exactly minded Otto’s excitement for the sweet shop. Honestly, He found it endearing.




Sometimes even He wondered if Otter might even like that shop more than him. But He knew that was a silly…… very silly thought. The chill outside made him shiver a bit as the snow crunched under both students’ feet. Glancing over at Otto with a soft smile. “Very chilly out here isn’t it sugar cube?” He replied softly with a chuckle, moving to step a bit closer to Otto trying to relish in the warmth of the other. Glancing around as the stream of students all seemed to be heading towards Hogsmeade. Letting out a breath as the cold air outside seemed to puff out like smoke out of his lips. Glancing over at Otter as He spoke with a nod. “Coming Otto!!!” He replied happily in return as the two boyfriends sped off to Honeydukes. A sing song tune to his voice. The snow fell on both off their head as He shook his head to shake off the snow out of his hair. Moving a hand to gently brush of the snow off Otter hair too with a soft happy smile.



Albion always found Otto’s excitement adorable an even bigger smile creeping up across his lips as He nodded.” Sounds perfect to me sugar cube” He replied softly leaning over to place a kiss onto Otter’s cheek before the pair finally made their way up to the sweet-smelling candy store. As Otto ran inside to scour for the sweet. Albion stood outside for a moment taking a deep breath shoving his hands into his pockets to grab the things He needed to put this Yule Ball Proposal into action as He finally went inside and peeked around or a bit before finding Otter in the shop smiling and walked over. “Finding what you like?” he asked gently, moving too slowly to take the items out of his pockets, trying to keep them out of view for the time being.



Albion took a deep breath as He waited for Otto to stop walking among the aisles as He moved to walk up beside him with a soft blush creeping up his face. “Sugar cube?” he asked softly, biting his lip briefly for a moment. “Can I ask you something?” He added. Waiting for a few moments tapping a foot nervously on the ground as He awaited the response from Otter, trying to stay calm and collected. Moving the flower crown out of his pockets, giving a soft smile before offering it out towards the other. His hands were shaking nervously. “My dearest Sugar cube………. Would you do me the biggest honor of going to the Yule Ball with me?” he asked softly biting his lip nervously.

Cedar had their wand pointed at the door still, racking their brain of any other spell that could work. Yet moments before a slightly more destructive spell would be uttered, the creaking of the large door opening to see the anxious but excited eyes of Clarissa peak out. Almost instantly, they lowered their wand, holding their breath as they waited for the other to appear. Clarissa was very quiet and anxious. They needed the same amount of patience Cedar needed with schoolwork. The loud 4th year understood that much and a gentle smile formed on their face as the other waved and Cedar couldn’t help but stare for a few moments.

“N-no! Not at all!”
They quickly said to the other, tucking their wand away into their coat as they looked the other up and down. Cedar wasn’t sure when it started but every time they see the Ravenclaw girl their thoughts spiral out of control. The finishing touch of the pink bow being tied on top the finish the carefully put-together pink outfit.

Wow…she’s beautiful…
they thought, a faint dusting of pink appeared on their face as they looked away and ran a hand through their short hair, that really should have had a Brough throw through it. Cedar of course realized that now. They were so excited to go to Hogsmeade with each other that, some steps were skipped in favor of time.

“You…look amazing! It’ll be so much fun. I was thinking we could maybe go to Honeydukes first and just you know, shop around then we can stop somewhere for lunch?”
They said, it coming out as a question to see if the plan sounded good to the other beginning to lead the two down the hall.

“We could also go to Scrivenshaft’s Quill Shop if you need any like…new quills or inks?”
Cedar was trying to think of quiet places to take the other, knowing that Zonko’s joke shop would be, a lot but one of the funner places but, Cedar had gone there plenty of times in their 3rd year so really, it wasn’t the most important place to stop.

Just down the hall, a loud BARK would echo through the halls followed by the loud taps of tiny claws on the floor bounding towards the two. Cedar knew who it was and there was a big smile on their face as soon, a tri-colored corgi bounded up to the pair, barking a few times before circling the two in a rather tight circle, causing Cedar to take a step closer to Clarissa, their shoulders brushing against each other.

“Cosmo! You noisy baby! You can come with us,”
they said, the herding dog pausing next to Clarissa, barking at her with a big smile on his face and nuzzling, or attempting to nuzzle Clarissa closer to Cedar before running ahead of them towards Honeyduke, pausing and looking back to make sure the two were following.

“I…sorry. Cosmo has A LOT of energy…he’s just coming with us to run around outside, he’s really well-behaved and shouldn’t be a bother at all!”
Cedar looked to Clarissa, now realizing how close the two have gotten because of Cosmo, internally panicking.

God, Cosmo really had to come and herd us closer! This is so awkward! Too close to the pretty girl! But I don’t wanna be rude and step away and she’s so pretty, I could stare at her forever-no no that’s awkward!

Clarissa stopped rocking on her feet moving her hands in front of her giving Cedar a soft smile. Giving a polite nod at the compliment as Her own cheeks flushed brightly. “ T-thank you” She managed to sputter out. “ Y-you look nice too…” She replied finally making eye contact with the other. The flush on her cheeks only growing a bit more. She had grown quite fond of the other as of late. “ I-I think all of that s-sounds good……L-Lunch sounds nice” She breathed out softly. Her voice still barely above a whisper. Walking alongside Cedar as they led the way. She glanced over at that fumbling her fingers together nervously.

‘ Cedar does look nice…..the messy hair just kinda adds to it’ Her brain was thinking as she shook her head trying to escape the thoughts that would only make her blush harder. It was just an outing as friends right? That was about all she knew and it would be foolish to make a mess of herself by being red in the face in entire day. She took a deep breath trying to calm her breathing and her heart. She couldn’t have her thoughts going haywire today. Not today at all.


Not a bad sigh. A wistfully happy sigh. Her eyes widened at the sound of a bark when the corgi came rambling up and running in circles around them. She couldn’t help but giggle softy. Clarissa did love animals that was one thing for sure. “ H-He is adorable!” She replied softly glancing at Cedar as She felt their arms brush against each other. Her cheeks only brightening from it. She was too busy looking up at Cedar than to notice the dog pushing them closer together as she let out a squeak of surprise. Her hands grabbing Cedar’s shoulders just from how close they ended up. Her eyes peering up into theirs. Her cheeks couldn’t be more red than in that moment and she was at a loss for words. Her mind screaming.


‘ W-what just happened…..s-so close…..A-ah cute smile…….’ Her thoughts only growing wilder by the second with a breath as she shook her head. “ N-No no don’t worry about it…..He is precious” She managed to whisper to Cedar looking up towards the other hoping they would know what to do in this situation. She gave a small smile trying to show that she wasn’t bothered too much by the closeness. “ Uhm…….H-Hi” She managed to spit out with a small awkward smile. Her heart was beating fast and she didn’t know what to do. She moved her hands to gently rest lightly on the other’s shoulders not wanting to hurt or be a nuisance to the other.

At long last, the day had finally come. It was time for the older Hogwarts students to take their annual trip to Hogsmeade during the winter. Leo couldn’t wait- he’d been looking forward to this day since the semester began. Luckily he wouldn’t have to wait any longer- the day had arrived! That morning, the 5th year Gryffindor boy woke up with a smile on his face and a little extra pep in his step as he got out of bed. For some, Hogsmeade meant spending time with friends, getting new school supplies and of course, filling up on sweets like Honeydukes. But for Leo Kettleburn, Hogsmeade meant one thing: butter beer.

Yes it was butter beer that Leo had been looking forward to the most with the upcoming Hogsmeade trip. Just why exactly was because butter beer was hard to come by in Leo’s life. Ever since his first sip as a younger kid, he absolutely loved the taste of butter beer. Unfortunately for him though, his mother and father had a strict ban on butter beer for their son, only allowing him to drink it for special occasions- which in Leo’s opinion, there weren’t many special occasions according to his parents’ definition. Leo’s mother sent him a letter a few days prior reminding him that he was not under any circumstances to get butter beer. Her reasoning behind banning it? It was too fattening. Leo was 15, he didn’t give a damn quite frankly.

Feeling his parents’ reasoning behind prohibiting him from consuming butter beer to be silly, Leo, ever the rebel, decided he was going to break that rule. Not only was he planning on breaking it, but he was planning on really sticking it to his parents (in his mind) by going to have as much butter beer as he could at The Three Broomsticks. Leo leapt out of bed that morning with a grin on his face, quickly changing into some warm clothes and wrapping his scarlet and golden Gryffindor scarf around his neck. He was ready to tackle the cold weather at Hogsmeade. Leo was also planning on going to Hogsmeade alone. He was the seeker on Gryffindor’s Quidditch team and had no shortage of friends and teammates there, but Leo didn’t want to risk anything. If someone caught him over indulging in butter beer, who knew what people would say. Sure it was a little overly paranoid to think that his friends were going to tell his parents of his plans today (especially considering not everyone knew Leo technically wasn’t allowed to have butter beer), but Leo didn’t want to take any chances.

Slipping on some winter gloves before he left his dorm room, Leo set off for Hogsmeade, alone. The Gryffindor boy shivered as the cold wind hit his face. They weren’t kidding- it was freezing outside today! Luckily in a few moments, he’d be in The Three Broomsticks, warming up by the fire and having a cup of butter beer… or two… or three…. Leo didn’t look out of place as he jogged down the streets of Hogsmeade. Many other Hogwarts students were already there, enjoying their break from their classes. Some ran to find friends, other walked and chatted with their buddies, and some hung out outside and conversed. Leo though was a man on a mission. He was going to The Three Broomsticks.

Leo slowed his pace as he finally reached it, the famous joint, The Three Broomsticks. “Yes!” Leo said happily as he saw the sign above the door. He smiled as he confidently walked into the building. Inside there were lots of people sharing drinks and talking, many of whom were Hogwarts students on the Hogsmeade trip. Leo grinned as he made his way directly to the bar area. He slid up to the table and put his arm across it, leaning on it as he smirked. “Hey barkeep! One butter beer please!” Leo ordered. The man behind the counter simply nodded and filled a glass of butter beer right up to the top. The Gryffindor boy grinned as he was handed his mug, a thick layer of foam coating the top of his drink. “Down the hatch! Take this Mum!” Leo said before gulping down his first cup of butter beer. It certainly wouldn’t be his last cup of butter beer though.

Leo had finished the first glass rather quickly, and immediately asked for another one. “A refill, my good sir!” Leo requested with a grin. “As you wish, young boy,” said the bar tender courteously as he took Leo’s glass and refilled it up to the top once more. Leo smiled and thanked him for the new glass and promptly downed the second one. He then asked for a third, a fourth, and even a fifth. Good thing butter beer was non alcoholic! It didn’t make it any more healthier though. Surely this wasn’t what the seeker for Gryffindor’s Quidditch team should be doing right now! His conditioning was going to suffer. No wonder why his mother prevented him from having butter beer- it was so unhealthy and Leo always over did it! But Leo was on his own now with no parents to stop him. So drink, he did.
