Reconfiguration
During the Rebel War, many meisters of Three Star status were sent out on to the field in order to help take down the various array of threats that proved perilous for cities and nations of all sizes. However due to the amount of time it takes in becoming a experienced Three Star meister, not all Three Stars, could’ve been considered good Three Stars.
Due to Renegade’s various hidden tricks, DWMA and AWF began facing problems the longer the war dragged out. Meisters and Demon weapons in EAT curriculum as well as apprentice mages that had proven themselves as skilled enough to handle a Witch of High Level would be promoted to higher ranks by their supervisors to ranks they weren’t entirely ready for.
Without the information, without the background experience, without the knowledge or guide to help them or push them in the direction they needed to handle dire situations like the Raid on Wall Street or Ransack of Vegas, these professionals would completely prove unsuccessful in managing situations that required years of experience under one’s belt.
The incremental introduction of Black Blood users now known as Society of Black Blood, brainwashed members of Nephilim, and various other projects Renegade had clandestinely hid would also prove to be one of the drawbacks meisters, Demon Weapons, and mages scantily prepared would have to handle as well.
When the war was finally over and the number of losses had been tallied, Black★Star, Maka Albarn, Kilik Rung, Hero, and Ox Ford along with a few other members of former Crescent Moon squad, would work together with Kid the First to restructure the ranking system into what it is today.
Ranks
Stars Rank ☆ One Star / Rank 1 ☆☆ Two Star / Rank 2 ☆☆☆ Three Star / Rank 3 ☆☆☆☆ Four Star / Rank 4 This is DWMA’s ranking hierarchy and it applies to both NOT, EAT, and Magi Curriculum. For every rank, there are three sub-ranks that follow it.
- One Star
- General InformationBeta students go through 2 years of training before graduation. Depending on a person's skill, training can be cut to a year , to a few months, to weeks or even a few days. Beta Demon Weapons: Demon Weapons under Rank 1, division Beta, all fall under beginner class and are the lowest rank in this new system.
-
Experience & Skill
-
Demon Weapons who fall under this particular division have little to almost no skill in fighting. While some have enough skill to possibly handle themselves in a spar or two, most Weapons do not have what it takes to handle serious fighting situations or the knowledge necessary to even participate in one. Demon Weapons who are ranked in Beta also lack full control or understanding of their unique abilities and powers. Very few in this division have a good grasp on Transformation and others tend to struggle to fully transform.
Most Demon Weapons by the end of their Beta year have the necessary knowledge on how to perform mediocre aspects of hand-to-hand combat. Nothing extreme or phenomenally skilled. A majoirty of Beta Weapons end up abandoning any further pursuit towards Weapon combat arts since most tend to find partners in this period.
-
Requirements to Advance
-
- Transformation:To advance this sub-rank, Demon Weapons must both fully master the ability to Transform in and out of their weapon form without difficulty or falter.
- Wavelength:Understanding how the Soul Wavelength works and being able to utilize and control it properly is also a prerequisite that all Demon Weapons, partner or not, must know and have mastered to a Average or Above Average level.
- Athletic Capability: If you can't make a 4m dash in the span of under twelve minutes, you won't be promoted to Omega.
- Terry Chime holds the record of 6:47:22
- Kasper Strauss holds the record of 8:23:00
-
Experience & Skill
-
Technicians who fall under the Beta division just as Demon Weapons, also lack the necessary skill to hold themselves in a serious fight. Some lack the skill to utilize their Wavelengths to their full potential due to improper self-taught training, others have just enough skill to handle themselves in a sparring match or two. But almost all lack the true understanding of what they could do if molded in the right way.
-
Requirements to Advance
-
- Wavelength Theory 100: Meisters must be capable of utilizing their wavelength and matching it with potential partners that are picked or used temporarily for breathing exercises. In these early stages the Dance Studio is often used to aid young meisters and Weapons to get used to the process that is taken in matching wavelengths. Even in the case of those that go rogue, learning to match Wavelengths or understand the syncing of Wavelengths is a necessity both Weapon and Meister must endure.
- Fitness Training 100: Basic fitness training, revolving around endurance training, minor weight lifting, and optional weapon practice with wooden weapons.
- Athletic Trial: If you can't make a 4m dash in the span of under twelve minutes, you won't be promoted to Omega.
- Kensei Goki currently holds the record of 5:12:23
- Tazmuir V. Klovic holds the record of 5:15:45
- Conner O' Neil holds the record of 5:50:02
- Rodney Quinless holds the record of 7:01:38

Experience & Skill

Beta Mages either have little to no understanding of how magic works in general, a meager understanding of how to use their magic but not other forms or a mixture of both. Mages in DWMA can follow two paths, they can be a True Mage, which is a mage who focuses only on magic and stays away from the supernatural side. Or they can be a Dubious Mage, a mage who knows magic strictly focused in one particular field of their choosing but also understands the supernatural and can thus manipulate their own wavelength to match with a Weapon's or Meister's.
-
Requirements to Advance
-
Beta Mages depending on their path must do the following.
True Mage
- Study the Theory of Mana: Which relates to the definition of what mana, aethar, and the Tree of Mana is.
- Pass Defensive Arts
- Mystic Arts 101:: Understanding your magic, your limits, your strengths.
- Pass Mythic Study 100: Mythic Study 100 is the study of mythics or magical creatures. It is a basic study that covers the most common known mythics generally believed to be a part of human mythology.
Dubious Mage
- Study the Theory of Mana: Which relates to the definition of what mana, aethar, and the Tree of Mana is.
- Fitness Training 100: Basic fitness training, revolving around endurance training, minor weight lifting, and optional weapon practice with wooden weapons.
- Mystic Arts 101:: Understanding your magic, your limits, your strengths.
- Wavelength Theory 104: Understanding the difference between magic wavelengths and spiritual wavelengths.
-
Beta Field Experience
-
Beta students, engage in law enforcement and civil duty. They engage in police-force support, firefighting efforts, and other legal activities revolving around legal enforcement or natural emergency agencies. This form of field experience is used to aide beta students in learning the ropes of what it means to be on the field and to prepare them for the future.
-
- General InformationOmega Meisters & Weapons: An Omega Meister or Demon Weapon is the second stage within the One Star class. It deems meisters and Weapons of this rank, Average to Decent.
-
Experience & Skill
-
Technicians: Technicians in the Omega stage are now allowed to take on missions. They should be capable of doing so without much trouble or without getting killed. Having the necessary skill and ability to handle themselves in a one-on-one fight with meisters of the same level or below, even being able to handle missions that require leaving the country.
Weapons: Transformation and the manipulation and control of their partner's wavelength should be less difficult at this point in time. Transformation should come as natural as sleeping or breathing, and being able to change certain body parts into a weapon shouldn't be difficult in the slightest.
Mages: Mages like Omegas of the EAT Curriculum are given a bit more freedom. For a mage, it is the freedom to practice their magic in anyway they see fit so long as it does not violate the three common rules of using magic.
-
Requirements to Advance
-
- Full Understanding of the Wavelength: Partner or not, Weapon or Meister, you should have a full understanding of how wavelength works. Meisters and Weapons in the Omega rank are expected to know how to align their wavelengths easily. They are expected to do this in a far more easier, far more relaxed, and far more understanding state.
- Combat experience: The Omega stage allows Meisters & Weapons to take on low rank missions. Missions that involve mock Kishins on very minor scales, however depending on the meister or the Weapon and their background, they can take on slightly larger missions within or even a step above their rank so long as the Receptionist approves.
- Co-Operation: Weapons and Meisters must know how to work together in this stage, but not just with themselves- but with other meisters and Demon Weapons also if the need arises. On few occasions this may be overlooked if word fro the Headmaster or a Advanced Staff member gives the order, but 10/10 this is greatly frowned upon and greatly discouraged.
- Soul Resonance: A Meister-Weapon partnership when deepened allows for the access of Soul Resonance. To pass the Omega class, whether you have a permanent partner or a temporary one, Meisters and Weapons must be able to resonate their souls to a certain extent without too much difficulty. To move forward, you muss be able to resonate once without faltering.
- Alternative: In some cases, an alternative can be offered for those who do not have partners or are adamant against staying partner less for the time being
-
Omega Field Experience
-
Omega students leave civic field experience and enter the mystical world of DWMA's field experience. One Star Omegas, begin hunting Evil Humans and Demons within the Snail class.
Important: They do not hunt Evil Witches (a.k.a Abandoned Witches)
-
- General InformationA One Star Elite does not have any specifications for either Weapon, Mage, or Meister. To be a One-Star elite, means you know how to handle yourself in a fight to a certain extent. You know the proper positions in different forms of fighting styles or have passed all the necessary classes needed to show you are an Above Average fighter with enough skill to handle yourself in a serious fight.
-
Experience & Skill
-
- Fighting Prowess: Weapons and Meisters both have the necessary skill and experience it takes, to take on Mock Kishins of stronger levels. One's that attack small towns and neighboring cities or any small rural or suburb area. These are generally the places these types of areas Meisters visit.
- Full Utilization: Both a Weapon and Meister have the ability to fully utilize their current skills given their understanding and training. They make less mistakes, they know how to block, how to advance, and when to counter.
- Soul Resonance: Is perfected
-
Requirements to Advance
-
- Assessment: Know when it is right to attack. Know when it is right to retreat. Always be wary of your opponent.
- Decisions: Planning is important. Do not just jump in full of confidence, false beliefs, or ulterior/selfish motives.
- Survival: Know how to survive.
- Teamwork & Communication: Elites must be able to communicate with their partners and must be able to do it without drawing too much attention.
-
Elite Field Experience
-
Elite Meisters, Weapons, and Mages, hunt Evil Humans and Demons. They also begin learning how to hunt Mock Kishins and Abandoned Witches. It is crucial for an Elite One Star to understand the importance of teamwork, trust in one's allies, and communication because without this you could very well be the death of your own friends and team.
-
- Amateur: Hunt Mock Kishin up to the Threat Level of Imp. Continue Learning how to hunt Evil Witches.
