Max held her daughter close and shook her head softly "Neither do I baby." She whispered while rocking her gently to keep her calm

The next time that Jeff woke up, Lana was gone and it was just Max in there with him, frowning a little over at her, "You eaten anything?" He asked her quietly.

Carmen was up several times through the night with Jacob at home and by the time she woke up in the morning she was truly worn out but she at least had Jane there with her until she would be going to see Charlie, assuring her a hundred times she was alright on her own, honestly just looking forward to some quiet time to spend bodning with her own son but once the phone rang after JAne had been at the hospital for ten minutes she started worrying

Max shook her head some giving his hand a squeeze "I'm not hungry....your mom has Lana right now." She murmured

Charlie sat on the phone smiling some as Carmen picked up "Hey beautiful....I just wanted to hear your voice." He murmured biting his lip gently

Carmen frowned a little and ran a hand through her hair "You scared me, I thought your mom was calling me for something else... Jake's just gone down for a nap... he had his first bath last night, it's safe to say he's not a fan." She mumbled tiredly.

He smiled shaking his head a little "I didn't ask if you were hungry... it's almost three.... Eat something." He coaxed gently.

Charlie chuckled some and gave a small nod "I'm sorry babe I didn't mean to worry you. He didn't huh? Well hopefully once he is older that'll change." He murmured before giving a small sigh "They should be letting me go today....the cops came by and want to talk to me about the attack once I'm settled back at home."

Max gave a small sigh and nodded some "I will once you're asleep again. I don't want to leave you." She murmured

She frowned some listening to him, "But you said they were keeping you at least a week... why are they letting you go so early?" She asked him, sounding a little panicked.

He frowned some, reaching for her hand, "C'mere...." He mumbled, scooting over a little to make a bit of room for her to sit next to him.

Charlie frowned some at her voice "Babe calm down its okay. They said I am looking better than they could have hoped for." He said happily down the line "Don't be upset okay?"

Max sat with him and gave a heavy sigh kissing him gently "I love you so much Jeff." she whispered

Carmen frowned some shaking her head "Oh really?! Like magic?! So they're definitely not trying to just fob you off so you're not their responsibility then?" She snapped a bit just rubbing at her face "Yesterday you couldn't even stand up and today they're sending you home?!" She pointed out, freaking out at the prospect of him already being home in case something went wrong.

JEff smiled tiredly, keeping her close 'I love you too.... I think... when I get home next... I think we all need to go on holiday... find a quiet spot to go hace some down time.... maybe just the two of us, have the girls stay with my parents for a week."He suggested quietly.

Charlie frowned more and sighed heavily "Baby calm down please, they have a home nurse coming with me okay? Please I just wanna be home with my family." He said softly giving a heavy sigh

Max gave a small nod and smiled softly "Yes I think that would be a very good idea." She murmured kissing him again stroking his cheek gently "I love you so much."

He smiled a little and kept her close just having her there was helping him stay calm but he was still worn out so he fell asleep again after a while, everything staying steady.

carmen grit her teeth and frowned. “And what if this was the other way round? You’d be okay with them sending me home? I’m not happy about this Charlie” she told him and hung up shaking her head some as she went to Jake, lifting him up and carrying him up to their room so she could get some rest as well and have him right there.

Max got up once he fell asleep and went to get her something to eat sighing softly as she came back to find him still asleep with a nurse checking over him

Charlie sighed heavily and looked at Jane and sighed some "She um....she wasn't happy." He murmured giving a heavy sigh

Jane frowned some. “She’s just worried about you.” She told him, taking her phone back. Really it does seem a little early.... but if you’re comfortable with it then so be it.” She muttered.

His nurse glanced over at her and frowned some. “He’s got a slight temperature but we’ll keep a close eye on it, everything else seems fairly normal.” She told her.

Max gave a small nod and sighed heavily taking his hand in hers while she started to read a book she had brought along

Charlie sighed heavily and nodded some "I feel fine mom, I want to be with my family." He murmured

Carmen was in the middle of sorting out dinner when she heard the car pull up and looked over at Charlie getting out with his mother shaking her head some and went to wash her hands off, setting a timer and lifted Jake into her arms when he woke up again, sitting on the couch and getting settled to feed him, not looking up when they came in.

Jeff woke up when they were bringing him some food, getting the bed sat up a littke and managed to eat a little bit of it, glancing over at max. “What you reading?”

Charlie came in and smiled happily seeing his home. He had his mom wheel him over to Carmen and smiled some at her "Hey beautiful...." he said softly hoping she wouldn't shut him out

Max smiled softly at him and placed her book down "Just some sappy highlander book." She said giving a small laugh before kissing his hand gently "How are you feeling?"

“What’s highlander?” He mumbled, thinking for a minute before shrugging. “I’ve been worse.” He mumbled just watching her tiredly, still running a slight fever.

she frowned and chewed on her lip some before looking up at him. “I want her out of the house over the next few days.” she told him meaning his mother. “She’s overstayed her welcomewith this.” She muttered getting up with Jake and taking him upstairs.

Max gave a small laugh and smiled happily at him "You know those romance novels with the highland shirtless man on the front." She said before moving to lay with him

Charlie frowned some but gave a small nod "I think she said something about a flight in about a day or so..." he murmured

He smiled tiredly, resting his head against hers gentlyand glanced down at the book "You know I'm all for never ever being in control of you.... but I think I should ban you from reading these books." He chuckled quietly before descending into a coughing fit.

Jane came in with his things and sighed a little seeing she'd gone upstairs "She's been miserable since she got home." She muttered "If you can get her to stop moping that would be great. Barely wants my help but then is starting to leave the house a tip at the same time." She told him shrugging some.

Max gave a small laugh shaking her head some "I would advise against it. I got that one move I used in bed last time that you liked from one of them." She said winking at him frowned helping him sit up a bit

Charlie gave a heavy sigh and nodded some now worried about his wife. He knew she would be worried, but he was worried it might be more than that

Jeff smiled tiredly at her and shook his head some "Nope... Banning them." He winked at her, holding her hand tightly. "I'm not gonna be able to go to Lana's appointment tomorrow." He mumbled, closing his eyes, feeling a wave of exhaustion hit him all of a sudden.

Carmen came back down after setting Jake down for another nap, holding the baby monitor to her while she went to finsih up dinner. "What have they given you to take?" She asked Charlie, moving over to the chalkboard to make a note of it

Max laughed lightly and kissed his cheek "Oh alright whatever you say." She murmured but frowned softly "I'll be there with her and let you know how it goes okay?" She murmured

Charlie looked through his bag and read off the list sighing softly "I've got them all set out in a tray, so I don't forget any." He murmured

She nodded but made note any way. "And when is this nurse supposed to be coming to check on you?" She muttered, getting plates and glasses out on the table, not looking at him still.

He just nodded and frowned some "She can come hang out here before." He mumbled, fighting hard to keep his eyes open, tired of being so worn out all the time.

Charlie looked at her and frowned softly "Tomorrow morning around 8." He said softly "What did you make for dinner? It smells great." He murmured

Max nodded softly and kissed his cheek gently "I'll make sure to bring her, you just stay rested okay?"

She frowned some "Chicken kievs, steamed veg, there's salad if you want that too." She mumbled putting everything on plates and set Jane's down in her place setting as well but took her own plate up to their bedroom and sat watching Jake while she ate.

He frowned but nodded and finally allowed himself to drift off to sleep again, his nurse coming in to check up on him towards the end of visiting hours, frowning a little as she took his temperature again, making notes on his chart and paging his doctor to come down and see him, "How was he when he was awake?" She asked Max carefully.

Charlie gave a small nod and sat at the table with his mother to eat. He sighed heavily and made his way to their room giving a small smile to Carmen "Is he asleep?" He asked seeing Jake in her arms

Max looked over at his nurse and frowned softly "He has been very drained. A bit hard to talk he is taking long pauses between words." She explained
