~Professor Crysta Chime~

The Meditation and Focus teacher let out a long sigh. No matter how long she meditated on it, she simply couldn't figure out anything about what had happened the day before. She knew that everyone had to be wary, but about what? It was rare that something stumped Crysta, but when it did, it really did. What was she going to tell Kinya and the others? They were counting on her to figure this out. . .but she simply couldn't.

Crysta's head tilted up and towards the door as she could sense two students. One hadn't hesitated to rush into her class, and once again, she was hit with a shattering headache. . .it could only be Luke. The woman stood up from her mat and focused on the other figure by the door. . .he wasn't in her class, but he had something to discuss with her. His name. . .what was his name? Was it Xavier? He was given off a very similar energy. . .

M. . .Ma. . .Mars!

Mars! She couldn't quite make out a last name, but that was fine. She'd almost mistaken him for one of the professors. It was no doubt that this boy had much in common with the hot-headed combat teacher. She quickly approached him after fluttering her fingers at Luke in a delicate wave, and then turned fully towards the other boy. She smiled at him, carefully adjusting her blindfold, and then said, "I am. How can I help you, Mars? Would you like a cup of tea?"

Luke smiled at the gesture, twinkling his own fingers at her. It was a nice thing to do, seeing her turn her attention to the man named 'Mars' was appropriate, allowing him to contemplate things for a few more moments. Why am I here? he thought with a hand covering his face, a pair of beating blue eyes pulsing through it. He knew after one day that this place wasn't for him, that the likes of him were simply not good enough to keep up in this environment. How he knew that combat-oriented powers were focused on, how those with little or no offensive use were pretty much useless. He grinded his teeth, his eyes turning a dark, menacing red. The Irishman felt that familiar rage burn again, bursting to be free from the chains that wrapped around it. But he had to control it; Hell, what could he even do? It's not as if his power could cause destruction at the twitch of a finger. Yet that only helped to fuel the rage boil. Better out then in as he always said, but when you can't let it out, what can you do? Bell wanted to do very much that, but was unable to.

Well crying about it isn't going to help now is it?! No no no no no, no it won't! You have to action loony lad! Action is what you have to take! But we can't exactly train our power since there isn't exactly anything to train is there?! No, there is isn't! And do you want to know why? It's because you were born with it, now you'll have to live with it! There's nothing personal, but imagine what we could have been able to do if your power was a bit more useful! We could make things out of the darkness, anything anything anything! Absolutely anything! We could hammers, swords, DAGGERS! We'd be the ultimate bad guy now wouldn't we with such a thing?! But unfortunately due to the circumstances of said ability, we'll NEVER, be able to those things! And do you want to know why?! YOU WERE BORN THIS WAY!

Aye, but those doesn't mean you can't change it to suit yourself now does it? We'll be able to mould this diamond in the rough into the most dominating, intimidating force this school, even the whole world has ever known.

"That only begs the question doesn't it?" he muttered to himself, removing the hand from his face, "Well, the answer is obvious yet still so burdening. Hopefully, with the help of God, I can get through this."

@Rai-Chan

@cojemo

Mars raised his hand dismissively while shaking his head. "No tea for me, though thanks for the offer." He was never really a tea person to begin with, plus he didn't want to be too long. He wanted to talk to this new kid a bit and get to the cafeteria in order to discuss whatever Lyra wanted to discuss. In reality he shouldn't even chat with the new guy, but that was a part of his student council duties, plus learning about potential rivals and adding them to his list was always useful. He'd been jotting down the powers and mannerisms of many students for as long as he'd been going to the school, and had gathered a comprehensive list of strategies and tactics to employ in battle. He always liked a fair fight, but if his opponent didn't bother to do research of their own it wasn't his problem.

Mars adjusted his collar, trying to give off a professional vibe, and spoke. "Well, from what I understand of your power you can sense the 'aura' and inner feelings of a person. If you don't mind, could you use that to try and pinpoint a specific feeling inside of me and identify it? It's been bothering me for a while now, and knowing exactly what it was would go a long way to clearing my worries. I'd prefer if it stayed private, though, so if we could continue this in the hall I'd much appreciate it." He gave a slight nod to the student who was seated in the class as if the teacher didn't realize there was another student in the class. The less people that knew the better was his way of thinking. Unless that person could help him in some way, his personal matters usually stayed to himself, which usually meant that very few people ever heard about these things.

~Rafaela~

"Fair enough, company is always enjoyable." Rafaela smiled at that, not just a smile, but the smile. Since the day she arrived everybody seemed so tense, and nobody really wanted her company. That was starting to damage the girl's high but fragile self-esteem.

"Name's Geno, and.." Geno seemed like he wanted to add something to his introductions, so Raph waited patiently. "Agh, nevermind. Either way, yeah, I'm Geno."

Rafaela chuckled, it was always so good to meet new people. She had missed this, the awkward exchange of names, the handshake, finding out little quirks here and there on the person. Just, she just loved it.

"I'm Rafaela, but you can call me Raph." She said with a grin on her face as she shook his hand. With the free hand, she pointed to the pigeon on her shoulder. "And this is Tom, but I don't think you'll be able to unders-"

"Hi." What followed next was quite the scene. Rafaela, who wasn't expecting anybody else, jumped from her chair to the wall next to her, her hand on her heart. Tom, who wasn't expecting the girl, nor the jump, hugged Raph's face with his wings, covering almost her entire face, except for the eyes, that were wide open. She watched as the girl sat on the chair next to Geno, her heart still at the speed of light.

"Hello. My name's Cylvaara." Rafaela still hadn't recovered from the shock, so she just stayed there staring dumbly at the girl that just seemed to appear from the middle of nothing.

"Oh my God, gurl. Don't do that! You want to give this young lady a heart attack? Geez, it's a surprise I still have a heart, from the way it was beating." Once the initial shock was gone, Rafaela found her way to the chair and sat. She breathed deeply, relaxing again before introducing herself. "Anyway, I'm Rafaela! And this is Tom." She tilted her head towards the pigeon, that had let go of her face. "Nice to meet you, Cylvaara!" Rafaela said, clueless to the fact that the girl didn't seem to like her that much. However, the brunette didn't seem to notice anything, damn, someone could die in from of her and she would just notice the body after finishing staring at the details of the furniture. Yeah, that bad.

"Uh, hey there; My name is, um, Sam Polaris, I'm, uh, I do teleportation and stuff, uh, I guess. " Oh! More people! This was getting exciting!

"Hi! I'm Raph, and this is Tom. And teleportation is a really cool power, I wonder what I would if I could teleport. It would be easier to prank people! Since I'm not that stealthy, people usually knows when I am even before walking into the room. Crazy."

"Do you mind if I, uh, you know, sit with you?" "Nope! Be my guest!" Rafaela said with a grin on her face. She was loving this day.

"I'm Rafaela, but you can call me Raph." That's nice, she'd already gone through the trouble to shorten her name, Geno didn't have to awkwardly ask if it's cool if he called her something shorter. She shook his hand, and seemed just as enthusiastic as he'd hoped. She pointed to the pigeon, which was still hanging out on her shoulder, and said "And this is Tom, but I don't think you'll be able to unders-" She was cut of by a familiar voice. "Hi." It was... Silvia? That's awkward, he forgot. It was the girl with the ability that closesly resembled his. She sounded so cold though. When he had talked to her she just seemed distant and shy, this was completely different.

Raph handled it less well. She seemed to be close to death when she stood there, leaned against the wall. Geno could almost swear he heard her heartbeats. ".. Are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost.." "Hello. My name's Cylvaara." Oh riiiight! Her name was Cylvaara, and he shortened it to Cylva. She still sounded so blunt. It went completely against what he'd imagined she was like. "Oh my God, gurl. Don't do that! You want to give this young lady a heart attack? Geez, it's a surprise I still have a heart, from the way it was beating." Raph seemed to have recovered from her critical state, and calmed down.

"Anyway, I'm Rafaela! And this is Tom. Nice to meet you, Cylvaara!"
Cylva didn't seem too happy at all. "Hey, what's with you? You seemed awfully much cheerier this morning." He whispered to Cylva. "Uh, hey there." Another newcomer? Man, he was alone just a couple of minutes ago, this group was growing fast. He felt unusualy social, being seemingly the only person here who wasn't either skittish, or shy. "My name is, um, Sam Polaris, I'm, uh, I do teleportation and stuff, uh, I guess. " Geno let out a short laugh. "You don't need to tell us what your ability is the first thing you do. Man, three's a crowd or so they say. What is it about me and attracting people to the corner of the room?" "Do you mind if I, uh, you know, sit with you?" "Not at all, go ahead." He nodded towards an empty seat.

So many people.

I'd prefer if it stayed private, though, so if we could continue this in the hall I'd much appreciate it."

Crysta smiled and gave the boy a single nod before lacing her fingers though his and gently leading him out into the hallway. As she touched him, she was already trying to determine how he felt. . .she quickly scanned his emotions, and bit her lip when she noticed a very high spike in one of them. Love. She snickered quietly, being put in a much better mood. It always did her heart good to see a young person had been bitten by the lovebug.

"Mars, do I really need to answer this?" she smiled, stopping and taking his other hand. She squeezed them both, and then said, "This. . .feeling. . .is nothing more than a crush! On whom, I am not sure. . .but it's normal for a boy your age to be experiencing these feelings for a girl. . .or perhaps another young man? Tell me. . .has anyone been on your mind a lot lately?"

"Oh my God, gurl. Don't do that! You want to give this young lady a heart attack? Geez, it's a surprise I still have a heart, from the way it was beating."

Well, that's not a completely terrible idea. Cylva toyed with the thought for a few moments, a smile playing just at the edge of her lips. All jokes aside, she didn't actually want the girl to have a heart attack. She just didn't want her scamming on "her man".

"Anyway, I'm Rafaela! And this is Tom. Nice to meet you, Cylvaara!"

"Hmm. Quite." She raised an eyebrow slightly at the girl as she replied, her voice dripping with sarcasm. Can she really not see how hard I'm trying to be mean? The thought frustrated her. She wasn't typically mean, because she didn't enjoy being mean. Quite frankly, she wasn't very good at it, either. But this "Raph" girl, or whoever she was, was either terribly imperceptive, or putting on a show to get under Cylva's skin. She shifted a bit, moving ever so slightly closer to Geno. Of course they weren't "an item"... yet. But that was beside the point.

"Hey, what's with you? You seemed awfully much cheerier this morning."

Well, this is awkward. The person who was supposed to realize what was going on, was completely oblivious to the situation, but Geno had noticed. Cylva turned to him and forced a smile. "Oh, nothing. Just a bit tired, is all. N-Nothing to worry yourself over, my lo--" Uhh. Hello? Cylva? What the hell are you doing? 'L word' already? Seriously? You've barely known the guy for like an hour. You don't even know if you like LIKE him. Cylva's face nearly turned purple as she caught herself. She'd read it in books, and heard it in movies, and she'd always wanted to call someone 'my love'. And here it was, her first real day of school, with a boy she'd met only an hour or so previously, trying to slip out. Seriously? How pathetic.

She attempted to try to proceed as if nothing had happened, though with her sudden stuttering, her nearly purple face, and her long hesitation, she knew she was doomed. "M-m-m-my-- Uhh. My l- lo- long time... friend?"
Mental facepalm. Yes. Long time. Of about an hour. BRILLIANT. Way to salvage that one, Cylvy. Good job. She blushed furiously, and felt the cool air on her forehead as she broke out in a cold sweat. Quickly looking to the new boy who had arrived at the table, as an escape route, she turned her attention to him, hoping no one would realize what had just happened.

Not waiting on anyone else's responses, she blurted out, "So,teleportationandstuff, huh? That'sfascinating, tellmemore." Cylva spoke so quickly, she didn't even really know what she'd said. All she knew, is that right now, she couldn't stand the idea of looking at Geno again, and decided it would probably be for the best, awaiting the boy who had introduced himself as Sam's response.

"Not at all, go ahead."

Sam Polaris smiled, and sat down at the table. He didn't really have much to say, as he tended to prefer listening to other people talk than talking himself. It wasn't that he was shy, or anything, it was just more that he didn't really know what to say most of the time, and just forcing conversation resulted in the jumbled mess he displayed ea-

"So,teleportationandstuff,huh?That'sfascinating,tellmemore."

"Wah!" He replied in suprise, taken off guard by the loud and quick paced question, "Um, I teleport, and I teleport other things too, " he laughed sheepishly, "So, you know, uh, my clothes and things, " Cringe, jesus, why couldn't he just manage a simple conversation, "Oh, and like, other people and objects and stuff, not just clothes! Haha!" Sam felt the urge to warp away build in side of him, pushing it down desperately, as it wouldn't do to just to teleport away from potential friends, he took a deep breath and said, "So, uh, what about you?"

"Mars, do I really need to answer this? This. . .feeling. . .is nothing more than a crush!"

Mars visibly cringed as the lat word was uttered, obviously not pleased with the answer. "Just as I thought.." he mumbled under his breath. If he wanted that answer, he would've been fine when Elsa had told him and not come to see Crysta in the first place. Why did these feelings ever have to surface and completely mess up his logical mindset? From the little he knew about it, having a crush sometimes caused someone to act irrationally, which obviously frightened him greatly. Still, he felt better knowing exactly what it was, and already felt that he'd be able to act more normally around Lyra again now that he wasn't as apprehensive. What was he supposed to do with this information, though? Just ignore it and hope it goes by, or do as they say and go for it? Thinking back, he remembered always feeling slightly better when Lyra was with him, though he never really paid it much attention then. Going for it seemed like a good option, but this was a topic he knew barely anything about. What exactly was he supposed to do?

"Tell me. . .has anyone been on your mind a lot lately?"

Mars let out a long sigh, not moving his hands from her grip. Should he bother explaining who? He'd already gotten his answer, so what would the point be? Then again, she was a teacher, so it wasn't like anything bad could come out of it. "I already know who it is. Lyra's been causing these feelings ever since the school year started. I'd asked Elsa about this before and she said that I'd always had these feelings, and it wasn't until competition was introduced that it decided to show itself." He wasn't flustered or blushing like he was before. Since he knew exactly what it was and had excepted it, the topic wasn't as hard to discuss as before. He looked up into her blindfold and continued. "What use is knowing that, anyways? I still have no idea what to do about it."

~Professor Crysta Chime~

"What use is knowing that, anyways? I still have no idea what to do about it."

"Well, who said you had to do anything about it?" Crysta smiled, releasing the boy's hands. "You can just sit back and ignore these feelings. . .maybe they'll go away. Maybe you'll find someone else. . .but you are young. If you really want my advice, I'd say go for it. You never know when your time will be up, so why waste a single second of it trying to decide? Besides, the worst thing she could do is turn you down, right? And I've met Lyra. . .she wouldn't make it. . .eh, how do you kids say it. . .she wouldn't 'make it weird'. You know her, Mars. . .I know you do."

Crysta gave the boy another smile, and gently patted his shoulder, saying, "I really have to get back inside to prepare for class. Don't forget what I said, alright?"

With that, the woman had flittered back into her classroom.

"Um, I teleport, and I teleport other things too, so, you know, uh, my clothes and things, "

As focused as she was on trying to make conversation to get the subject away from her odd comment to Geno, Cylva was relieved by the boy's quick answer, and was able to slow herself down a bit. "Oh, that's really great." Frankly, she'd only heard the part about teleportation, and had missed his awkward tangent about teleporting his own, and other people's clothes. Or something along those lines.

"So, uh, what about you?"

Again, it was a relief to have another subject to think about. She held up her arm and showed it to Sam, still making a point of not looking at Geno. "I-I have this crystal, that's a part of my body. I can manipulate it... well, sort of. It's a work in progress." She offered a light, awkward laugh. Her face was finally starting to return to a somewhat normal color. Cylvaara absent-mindedly twirled a lock of her hair around one of her fingers, silently hoping Geno hadn't inferred what she had nearly said. Turning back to Sam once more, she added, "So, what classes are you in, Sam?"

(Short post is short. Sorry.)

Waiting on a certain SOMEONE *Cough* @Kriyze *Cough* to respond...

@Qwerto

"If you really want my advice, I'd say go for it. You never know when your time will be up, so why waste a single second of it trying to decide? Besides, the worst thing she could do is turn you down, right?"

Mars inwardly groaned. Yeah, great advice. It's not like I already knew that or anything. Watching as the teacher returned back to her classroom, Mars contemplated his next move. He'd decided he'd go for it, as there wasn't really a reason not to. How was he supposed to go about it, though? He knew that people often gave someone flowers or invited them out to eat before declaring something like this, but that was usually when the two people had only known each other for a short while. Him and Lyra were already close as is and had known each other for quite a while, so the common steps seemed rather superfluous. Should he just skip all of that and tell her that he had a crush on her? That seemed like it would make the most sense, but he still doubted that she would even get was he was saying. She was a little oblivious at times.

Mars poked his head into the classroom again and looked at the student who was by himself. She can wait a bit. This is my job, after all. Taking his time before seeing Lyra again seemed like a good idea. That way he could think of what to say and when to say it. Running his hand through his hair, he approached the boy and sat in a chair nearby, even though it wasn't his class. It was important to look comfortable and friendly. Putting on a smile like he always did when talking to new students, he said, "Hey there! My name is Mars Porter and I'm the student council treasurer. I couldn't help but notice that you're new to this school. What's your name, and what do you think of this place so far?" Even though he wanted time before going back to Lyra, he didn't want to take too long. He'd already made her feel bad enough. There wasn't any reason to make it worse.

@Larrylycan

"I-I have this crystal, that's a part of my body. I can manipulate it... well, sort of. It's a work in progress."

Sam smiled, glad that his conversation seemed to be going well so far, besides from the stuttering, and the confusion, and the tripping over words thing. Actually to be honest it hadn't been great, but at least now it seemed to be going ok.

"Oh, ok, cool, " he responded. He didn't really have a clue what she was talking about when she said she could 'manipulate a crystal' which is 'part of her body', but whatever, Sam was sure he would have an opportunity to see it for real at some point.

"So, what classes are you in, Sam?"

Sam went blank for a moment, before it came back to him, "Uh, well I am in Combat 101, which I was doing this morning, uh, obviously, and then, uh, after lunch, uh, " Sam wracked his brain. For some reason he couldn't for the life of him remember what he other lesson was, which was stupid, given that there were only two. He wrestled with his mind for a moment and then grinned and said, "Oh yeah, and Otherworld History, that's what I'm doing after lunch, " he frowned, "although I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be doing something. I saw someone else with a piece of paper with Otherworld History on it, and she was filling it in, " panic began to enter his expression, "oh no! What if I've forgotten something important, what are you in, do you do History too!?"

"Oh, nothing. Just a bit tired, is all. N-Nothing to worry yourself over, my lo--" ....

MY WHAT? Geno's eyes were spread wide as he looked at the girl. An expression of disbelief covered his face.

....

....

"M-m-m-my-- Uhh. My l- lo- long time... friend?" The expression of disbelief worsened. This girl did seem like she never had an idea what she was doing, but that first "lo" didn't sound like it was going for "long", nor was he her long time friend. No, it sounded like something very different. She quickly turned away and struck a forced panicked conversation with the newcomer. It was quite clear she was embarassed. He contemplated it for a moment, and then decided to let it slip. She might have not done it on purpose, like when children accidently call teachers mom.

"... Okay, I'm just gonna assume that was a mistake." He said quietly. The girl seemed bent on avoiding looking at him, and so he turned back his half finished plate. He suddenly lost his appetite though. He felt a pit in his stomach. He wanted to see Calista now, that experience had scared him for some reason. He looked up at the first girl who had arrived while forcing a meatball down his throat. "Soo... Uh.. Raph.. *Cough on meatball remains* what classes are you in?..."

"Oh, ok, cool, "

Look out, we've got a lively one here. The boy seemed a bit awkward. Not unlike herself. She listened to his response in regards to the question she'd asked about the classes he was taking. Again, this reaffirmed her theory that he was more awkward than not. "Combat 101? So you were at the collaboration assignment this morning, then. How did your fight go?" Come to think of it, the boy did seem vaguely familiar, and she guessed she had likely seen him either around campus, or more likely, in the forest earlier that day. Given his brief description of his powers, she imagined that his ability would likely be quite useful in battle, but above all else, she thought with envy, easy to conceal. Sam must have had the option of living out his life like a normal human, with added benefits, right? Surely that ability would be easier to conceal than her own.

Cylvaara only half-listened as the boy continued, suddenly panicked about his history class. She was irritated about the mishap only a few minutes earlier, knowing how psychotic she probably seemed. And here we are again, Cylva. This is the reason you can't have nice things. Smoooooth. Frowning, she replied to Sam. "N-No, sorry. I'm in Combat 101, and then Meditation and F-Focus." She understood his concern, as she had fought with the same fear only earlier that same day. She smiled apologetically. "I actually missed Friday, as well... I don't think it's too big of an issue, though. Professor Xavier didn't seem to notice, or if he did, he didn't seem particularly concerned. I'm hoping my second teacher will be the same way, but who knows..."

"... Okay, I'm just gonna assume that was a mistake."

Though Geno's voice was rather quiet, Cylva had just managed to catch the words. She had seen his eyes widen, as she'd stumbled through her sad attempt to save herself from that embarrassing word she'd half-uttered. Hearing him strike up a conversation with the girl Raph, she turned and looked at him once more. He looked like a completely different person, and she could tell something had bothered, or upset him. Putting two and two together, she was able to decide that the behavior was almost certainly a direct result of what she'd said.

Having answered Sam's latest question, and not having anything to say at the moment to the other two at the table, Cylva promptly stood, and excused herself. "M-My apologies, but I've got a few things I need to take care off. Raph. Sam... Geno." Her tone was colder than she'd meant it to be, as she nodded to each of them in turn. Offering a somewhat stiff curtsy, she made her way out of the dining hall, planning to return to her room for the remainder of her lunch break.

@Kriyze

A loud bell rings, signalling the end of lunch. You have about five minutes to get to class. Otherworld History taught by Liam DiFranco or Meditation and Focus taught by Crysta Chime. Finish up what you are doing and make your way over to whichever you are taking!

~Lyra~

After what seemed like an eternity, the bell finally rang. Lyra had never been up and out of the dining hall so fast in her entire life. Her mother still hadn't texted her back, which disappointed Lyra slightly, but that didn't matter. She just needed to get to class without thinking about how not a single one of her friends had shown up for lunch. Had she done something? Were they all avoiding her? Probably not. . .but why did Lyra feel so alone? So small? So inevitable? She didn't know. She couldn't get over how undeniably upset she had felt when she'd been told that Mars had been transferring out of Basic Healing and Protection 101. . .NO! Lyra couldn't think about these depressing thoughts.

Of course she did, though. She thought about them all the way to class. She had slipped into the class so quietly, sitting at a random seat towards the back. She was one of the first students inside. . .she wouldn't be surprised if her friends didn't show up to class either.

Maria Scarlette

Maria shot up into a sitting position as the bell rung in her ears. She looked around, her eyes only half-open. She recalled laying down and cloud watching for about half an hour, but she passed out shortly after. "Time to go to class, I guess," Maria thought and hopped off the bench. Maria hummed to 'A whole new world' as she walked to class, along a path for a minute or two and then down a few twisting halls. By the time she made it to class, she felt like shouting "A WHOLE NEW WOOOOOOOOOOOOORLD" as loud as she could (While in tune, of course), but she avoided doing so. This isn't your highrise, Maria thought. You can't act like a crazy person here because people will actually care.

Maria laid down on one of the mats with her head rested on her bag. Soon class will start, and... Maria noticed someone lay down on the mat beside her - But she decided against talking to them, whoever they were.

Mirabelle Ami

Ami made her way to class, her eyes staring directly forward as she did so. She really didn't feel up to stopping and talking to anyone, and she probably looked pretty intimidating the way she was - She felt embarrassed, something she didn't often feel, because her power didn't work as effectively as she hoped and she had to be saved. It made her look weak, something she hated, something she would need to fix. I'll get better with practice, Ami thought. And that's why I'm here, isn't it? She stopped at the door to Meditation and Focus, only to notice no one inside but the silver-haired girl that had punched her the other day... Or maybe she was missing someone. Or something. The girl probably wasn't the only one in the room, Ami probably just wasn't looking around enough.

Ami laid down on a mat beside the silver-haired girl and stared at the ceiling for a few moments. Ami shut her right eye and shut her left eye halfway so she could still see. Hopefully soon class will start. I want to be able to do whatever I want as soon as possible... And that probably meant 'training'.

Before the boy had a chance to respond, Mars suddenly heard the bells that indicated that class was about to begin ring throughout the hallways. He hated to leave so suddenly as that may leave a bad first impression, but being late to class wasn't on his to-do list. "Woops, looks like I've got to go. If you see me and I'm not busy, feel free to come and talk. See you later!" Dashing out of the class, he pulled another sandwich out of his bag and began to quickly devour it before he arrived at history. He had taken too long and wasn't able to get to the cafeteria in time, meaning Lyra probably wasn't in the greatest of moods. That meant that his whole confession idea would probably be a bad one at this time. He wasn't going to tell her in history in the first place, that much should be obvious, but he would probably wait until he was sure she had either gotten over or forgiven the last two times he seemingly ditched her.

Upon reaching the class and gulping down the last of his improvised lunch, he noticed that there weren't too many people who had arrived yet, but Lyra had. She was seated near the back of the room by herself, though that part wasn't surprising by looking at the number of people there. He knew that he sitting beside her was the best way to begin the recuperation process, but what would he do if she wanted to talk during class? For other classes he wouldn't worry too much as most people found those slightly interesting, but Otherworld History was notorious for making people drift off into boredom. He was one of the few that actually liked to listen to and jot down every bit of information sent his way, so he really didn't want to talk when Liam would be writing notes on the board. If he ignored Lyra, though, then she may think he was trying to avoid her or was angry over something. It was a dangerous balancing act he was going to attempt, one between not irritating Lyra and his academic focus.

Why couldn't she have chosen a spot closer to the front? I love the front. Taking a seat next to Lyra and pulling out the history work he'd finished, he turned to face the student president. "Well, look who it is. I thought for a second you were avoiding me or something." Mars' tone was sarcastic as he let out a laugh at his own joke. His idea was that if he joked about her avoiding him, then if she was thinking she had done something to make him avoid her, she would stop thinking that. After all, who would joke about something they were doing to the person the action was being done to? After a moment, he stopped laughing and kept a smile on as he continued. "I'm just joking. I apologize I wan't able to make it to the cafeteria on time, but as far as I know I have nothing else on the horizon, so there should be no more sudden interruptions. Hope you weren't too disappointed."

"Well, look who it is. I thought for a second you were avoiding me or something."

Lyra glanced over to see that the seat next to her had been taken by Mars. She felt her heart jump, but immediately looked back out the window, telling herself to give him the silent treatment.

"I'm just joking. I apologize I wan't able to make it to the cafeteria on time, but as far as I know I have nothing else on the horizon, so there should be no more sudden interruptions. Hope you weren't too disappointed."

"It's fine, Mars." Lyra smiled, glancing back at him. Well, so much for the silent treatment. "You had stuff to take care of, so did I."

You did not, you liar.

"Maybe we can get some dinner after the student council meetings today. . .though I've been thinking of cancelling it. I haven't seen Blake or Veronica all day, and I'm just really tired and. . .do you think that would be okay?" she asked, tilting her head at him. "I only really need to talk to you about the charity auction earnings, they don't really need to be a part of it. . .well. . .I. . ."

Lyra didn't know what she wanted to say. She groaned, resting her forehead on her desk, and said, "My stomach hurts. I need a hug."

After returning to her dorm, Cylva had taken the time to write another journal entry. She tried to keep the entry focused on the bright side of her day, elaborating on the memories she had with her father, which had directed her to be able to gain more control over he abilities. She tried experimenting further, and reached some success. A small crystal, approximately half the size of an apple was ejected from her open palm. She hadn't been trying very hard, as she was in her dorm room, and didn't want to damage anything, but the fact that she was able to lob it across the room with minimal effort was quite reassuring.

After practicing the technique a few more times, she turned her attention back to the crystals that coated her arms. Now, to get rid of you... Cylva concentrated, willing the crystals to retract back into her body with all her might. No effect. Though she hadn't had a problem with the claws retracting earlier, it almost seemed as though these ones were irreversible. She sighed in frustration, and sat on her bed, just as the bell rang indicating that it was time to head to her next class. She quickly got to the classroom, and sat in one of the back corners.

After relaxing for a few minutes, Cylva suddenly realized she didn't know what classes anyone had next. Please don't let him have this class... Pleeeeaaaaasssse say he's taking History... As she silently pleaded, she couldn't help but expect the worst. Of course Geno would be in this class. That would be just her luck...

Sam Polaris ate slowly, surely they wouldn't give us an assignment on the first day? Yeah? It had to be fine, it didn't matter, it would be fine. He took a few deep breaths an engaged in light conversation with the other two people on his table.

The bell rang.

Sam jumped in shock as the loud voice suddenly appeared above them. He tilted backwards in surprise, before realising he was losing his balance. Sam tried desperately to regain his safe position, but to no avail, and he tumbled of the back of the bench. He swore inwardly, before closing his eyes as he fell. As he hit the floor, he performed a lopsided, makeshift recovery roll, which nobody would think of as impressive in any way. At the end of his 'roll' he quickly teleported himself back onto his chair. He glanced at the other people on the table. He glanced at his food, still some beef tantalizingly left on the plate. He teleported. He would never speak to those people ever again.

Never.

Not after that.

Ugh.

He arrived in his room, where he quickly checked he had everything, before teleporting into the Otherworld History class. He materialized in the centre of the room and looked around. Fortunately it looked liked only some of the students had arrived. He looked around, briefly considering sitting next to someone, but he decided against it and sat on his own on the far right chair of the front row. Sam figured he had had enough social interaction for one day.

Ok, now even Raph could feel the awkward atmosphere. She watched as Geno widened his eyes and stared at the girl Cylvaara. Something definitely was going on here, she just couldn't point her finger to what though.

"Soo... Uh.. Raph.. what classes are you in?..." The brunette was pulled out of her thoughts, suddenly remembering where she was and with who.

"Oh, I'm in Basic Combats and...Uh..." She squinted her eyes trying to remember what her next class was, and if not for Tom, that cooed something on her ear, she wouldn't have remembered. "Oh, right! Otherworld History! Thanks buddy." Now that she thought about it, that Sam guy said something about filling a...paper? Well, if that was homework, she would just say that she was sick or that Tom ate her paper. And it was her first day, the punishment wouldn't be that bad. Right?

"M-My apologies, but I've got a few things I need to take care off. Raph. Sam... Geno." Rafaela waved to the girl, smiling as she said "bye".

And then, the bell rang.

"Ugh. Let the torture commence." As she was about to rise from her seat, Sam went back first to the floor. She tried to hold her laugh by biting her lower lip. No, don't laugh. Don't be an asshole. But before she could say anything, the guy simply disappeared. Poor guy.

"Well, I gotta go. I have a brain to smarten up." Grinning, she stood up and put the plate wherever it was supposed to be put and got out of the dining hall, turning to the wrong direction. After not too long, she appeared running to the other direction, with Tom hot on her trail, yelling what seemed to be: "Shit! Wrong turn!" .

And then, Rafaela finally made it to the class. She was panting and sweating, result to spending the last minutes running while looking for the classroom.

"Tom, you gotta go. I don't want you pooping on the professor's things." Rafaela said while opening a window, closing it after the pigeon left the room. She turned to the people present and noticed the same guy from the dining room. She waved to him.

"Hello!" Well, Sam wasn't going to get rid of her so soon.

Before Luke had even been the given the chance to utter a sentence, the lad named Mars was gone like shot, citing some business to be taken care of. A polite wave was given as man the left the room with intentions in mind, Luke returning to his contemplative state. Love eh? Well, I'll just leave it there, wouldn't want to delve to deep, the Irishman thought as he calmed down to a certain extent, although a feeling of bitterness still remained inside his heart. Was it because he felt that everybody else was better then him? That they were more useful, then him? He wouldn't accept that, not at all. They may have an edge on him during the day, but the dark hours were his time. When the predator becomes the prey to be more elouquent in his mind, albeit the prey were his peers! A little laugh escaped his lips as he nestled himself into the seat once again to concentrate. But there was something that Ms. Chime had said in there conversation the day before that piqued his curiosity, a little phrase that made his intrigue swell. Although the exact sentence evaded him, Luke had got the jist of it for the most of it. Indeed it did sound promising, but it's not as if power could actually be improved on as far as he was concerned. Unless it meant he could physically augment himself in darker spaces, then such an idea held no sway with him although it stuck in his head.

Ever since coming here, Luke has been struggling with self-doubt the entire time. Despite only being on campus for about a day and a half, this place just didn't connect with him the way he thought it would. Is it because of his gift that he felt estranged, because of his powers being utterly useless for combat? This was the prime reason why he felt so disillusioned with the whole experience, probably because it was disillusioned with him. Whatever that means, he muttered in a reverie, a silent smirk playing on his lips, Well, I might as well enjoy these last few moments before the class gets together. As well as for that wish, he hoped that he could get a bit fitter here. Although he was from being fat, he was far from being an athletic machine. Playing hurling was fun at home in Ireland but it wouldn't involve the amount of stamina exertion that gaelic would have placed on the table typically. And playing full-back only helped to strengthen his stance on activity. Good thing he remembered to bring a hurly and a sliothar with him!

"Just as well I did!" he said to himself, opening his eyes for what seemed the first time in forever, "Now, let's watch as the crowd storms on in to the calm."

(As per usual, reply to this at your leisure if you feel up to it. Thanks for reading!)

"Basic combat and otherworld history.."
He quietly recited to himself. "Well, we've got basic combat in common." "M-My apologies, but I've got a few things I need to take care off. Raph. Sam... Geno." He sent a glance at Cylva, still unsure of what to think of her. Soon after she left he took a look at his watch, and realized that the lesson was about to start. "Well, looks like we better get going." he shortly mentioned to the group, after getting up from the table. He got rid of his plate and hurried to the Focus and Meditation class. He was interested in what they were gonna learn there.

He thought he was almost gonna be late, but it turned out he was one of the first students who had arrived. He took a seat on the same mat as he had last time he was here. Crysta was there, doing stuff, but he didn't see anyone else around he recognized. He sighed and leaned backwards. Now it was just to wait.

--------------------------------------------- Gwendolyn Friar ---------------------------------------------

The clocks rang and Gwendolyn finished her plate. She remembered having something called Focus and Meditation. Wonder what that was. She was unsure of where it was though. She got up from her seat, and wandered out into the corridors. After walking about for a couple of minutes, she realized that she had absolutely no idea where she was, and she didn't see any students around to ask for direction either. She didn't want to make a bad impression for this teacher, but if this was how it is, how is she ever supposed to get on time?

(Someone plz halp.)

Sam sat in silence. Otherworld History, huh. Might be interesting, Sam had always been fairly good at history, although he imagined none of his previous learning would be much help here. He looked around the room, students were slowly filing into class, a couple of which he recognised from lunch, to whom he immediately put his head down in fear of being recognised. He was probably going to have to start from scratch in terms of making friends, the thought made him grimace. I wonder if we are gonna do anything interesting, he thought, or if he was just going to talk for a-

"Hello!"

Sam was shaken out of his reverie and looked around quickly, searching for the source of the voice. He identified it quickly.

Crap.

It was one of the people from the dining hall, dear god, she must think him a complete idiot, ugh. For the umpteenth time that day, Sam suppressed the urge to warp away from the awkward situation. He forced a smile. She didn't look like she hated him, at least, if fact she actually looked kinda cute. He suppressed that thought as well, probably not a good thing to be thinking about the first time talking to someone. He had gotten pretty good at suppressing thoughts and urges over his life, because if he didn't, he would never be in one place for more than a minute given his frequency in messing up interactions.

"Hey, uh, you're the one with the bird right?" He asked. So far so good, he was finding it much easier to talk one on one, despite his comfortableness. Maybe if he acknowledged her she would go away. I mean, it's not like he didn't want her to be there, it's just, ugh, jesus, why had he been such a clutz!? "Um, sorry for bailing on you earlier, it's just, uh, well, um, you know, " Sam smiled sheepishly. Maybe he could get along with this girl, if she didn't mind his earlier incompetence.

Maybe he wouldn't have to start again, after all.
