"No, Mars, it's fine. It's not your fault I'm being a big baby about this. It's what you want, so go for it! No strings attached, 'kay?"
Even though she had smiled and acted fine, Mars could easily tell that Lyra was still upset by the whole ordeal. It was a very difficult situation he found himself in. Should he go through with the transfer and get what he'd wanted from the beginning, or cancel it and stay in the same class as Lyra? Normally this wouldn't even have been a decision and he'd gone with the one that benefited him, but just like everything that had involved Lyra recently, things were way more complicated than they should have been. No, don't let emotions control your decisions. think logically. Mars gave a small nod back at Lyra. "Thanks. The change takes place tomorrow, so don't worry when I don't show up in class." He had a hard time thinking of other things to say, as that familiar feeling that had been bothering him was still present. Luckily, he'd planned to definitively figure out what had been bothering him at lunch, so he didn't have long to wait.
Laying down on his back and placing his hands behind his head, he stared blankly into the air. The best option at the moment seemed to be to just relax. Continuing on with this conversation would only make things harder for him. He tried to think of something to say to Lyra that would lead to a casual conversation in order to lighten the mood, but his mind was drawing blanks. Instead, he just listened to his surroundings for the time being.
"What exactly is your ability?"
Mars' eyes darted upwards from his position to look at the person who spoke and who she addressed. It seemed that Lyra's partner, who he was pretty sure was named Cylva, was talking to Geno. It didn't really concern him, but Mars was also interested in the answer to the question, partly because he only saw a glimpse of it before and partly because he always liked to be prepared for anything. He turned his attention back to the sky, but kept his ears open, listening in on the conversation.
