~Basic Healing and Protection 101~

"I can manipulate the elements of the periodic table. . .well, not all of them. The ones I am familiar with."

Initially, Mars' mind went on overdrive, extremely intrigued by this power his partner had. There were so many possible applications, so many uses for something like that. The elements were everywhere, giving her control over just about, if not everything. Of course, he was immediatly dissapointed the more she spoke. From the sound of it, she could only control what had entered her body, and he assumed that compounds were out of the equation or she would have mentioned controlling water. Plus, she seemed reluctant to use a technique that sounded extremely powerful. That, or he misunderstood. From what she said, Kahra seemed to preferred to fight using melee tactics. Still, his mind immediately jumped to a question he needed to ask, though he would wait till he explained his powers first.

"Well, mine aren't as interesting as yours. I have the ability to manipulate heat, which consists mostly of creating heat. I can heat things up internally, though it's limited to non-living things, though I can heat up a person, just not enough for it to be effective in battle. I can also make flames appear from my hands as well as from a distance. Protection wise, I can make walls of fire, as well as restrain the enemy inside a vortex." His powers weren't something he found very hard to understand, so unlike his partner he didn't need to give long explanations on how they worked.

"Another thing I can do is remove heat from things, though I need to be closer to do this. It is possible for me to create a barrier of ice, though I haven't been able to do this at a distance of more than 15 feet. Freezing someone isn't out of the realm of possibility, though I would need to be right beside someone, and even then it would be limited to limbs. That's everything that comes to mind, anyways." Mars ran his hand through his hair as he began to speak again. "So, your power... is it possible to remove hydrogen from water since you've consumed it and... concentrate it in a specific area?" The prospect of this was a very exciting one, as, since hydrogen is highly flammable, and he uses fire...well, it should be pretty obvious why.

~Luke~

Luke sat on the ground with a grin on his face, waiting for his partners to eventually show up. The Irishman doubted that it would take so long, considering nobody would want to claim the smiling buffoon nestling himself on the ground as there partner. Nonetheless, he was wondering what they would be like. Would they be cheerful, energetic people that would always be there for him? Or would they be harsh, antagonistic folk who would leave him in the muck without one hesitant thought? Shaking his head at the latter though, he only hoped for the former. But either way, if they did end up being bad people, well...there are always other methods to take care of them. Look at what you're doing! You're judging these guys before you even meet them! We're better then that! he thought to himself as he perked himself from the ground onto his feet with a hint of lethargy. He felt relaxed, the experiment this morning making him feel anything but that earlier this morning. But in the end, it was nothing but that, an experiment; one that he felt had otherwise succeeded despite the fact that the body formed was handicapped by the lack of a right leg or a left arm.

After rising to his feet and stretching, he took a moment to ready himself before announcing his name so that he could draw his partners to him in an effort to rendezvous with them. Of course it was going to be a simple message, he wasn't one who liked to garner the attention of all around him, simply something he wouldn't do. That wasn't Luke Bell, nor would it ever be.

"Luke Bell over here," he uttered, wishing that this would attract their attention, "So if you're wondering where I am, here I am indeed. So come over here and we can discuss things if you want. Until then!"

Plain and simple, just the way we like it, well done buddy! Now we can finally get a good look at these lassies! You've got a bit of harem going on here now! I'd say you must feel sexually awkward in this whole arrangement don't you?! Think nothing of it Loony, we'll be fine! It's not like they're going to rip your head off or something! Well if they attempt to...let's just say the roles will be reversed in that immediate situation!

Of course, their heads will be planted upon these branches if they attempt anything on us. There bodies will be something I'll deal with myself. As I said before, there won't be enough for the birds of the air or the beasts of the earth to devour once I'm finished with them.

Guys please, I'm trying to concentrate here! he mentally chastised them, How bad can they actually be?

~Rafaela~

Two partners? Oh, this was going to be interesting! Rafaela was excited for this project, she wondered how this Isaak and Maria were like. Good people? Well, she hoped that. She started looking for both of them, not that it would give any results since she didn't know anyone in that school, when she heard her name being called.

"Fil- I mean, Maria and Rafaela! I am new to this class and thus do not know your faces, if you would kindly come find me, wherever you may be, I would greatly appreciate that. You have been given the privilege of being with I, Isaak Heidrich III son of Alfons Heidrich of Heidrich Industries."

Honestly? She didn't really like the tone of that voice. And she didn't recognize the name Heidrich. What? If they were really famous and important, Rafaela didn't care. Also, she lived in the woods for years, it's not like she had the luxury of TV and newspapers. She was only able to learn English when she was a kid, and during her stay in the asylum. They had books. She followed the voice that led her to a guy, Isaak probably. But she didn't see any other person, maybe her other partner still hadn't found them. Rafaela greeted the guy with a friendly slap on his back, while grinning ear to ear.

"Hey! So, you're Isaak, right? Nice to meet ya, Zak! I'm Rafaela, and I don't bite!" Rafaela said in her thick accent. She extended her right arm, expecting Isaak to take it and shake it. She scanned him with her eyes while waiting for the shake of hands, the grinning never leaving its place.
[isaak Heidrich]

Isaak heard someone approach and was about to turn around when he was brutally (not) slammed (not) by someone in the back. He leaped nearly 4 feet in the air and backed away from this girl who hit him. His eyes blazed with fury and utter surprise.

"Y-you dare hit me!? Insolent filth! What is wrong with you? Do you have no manners!?" Isaak shouted at her, his fury unleashing like a wave onto rocks. "How dare you even presume to touch me let alone approach and greet me as if I'm someone you've known forever!"

He turned away and with great effort, controlled himself.

Calm down Isaak, she's nothing but filth. Don't waste your time. Breathe, there you go. You are of noble blood, it's not good to let people see you like this.

Isaak turned back to the girl and slowly approached her, eyeing her warily.

"I...apologize for my..sudden outburst. You surprised me quite a bit. I am Isaak.. as you probably know by now." Isaak said with great effort. He painfully (not) reached out and shook her hand. Isaak visibly shuddered and retracted his hand, wiping it quickly with a handkerchief.

~Kahra~

"So, your power... is it possible to remove hydrogen from water since you've consumed it and... concentrate it in a specific area?"

Kahra sucked in her cheeks, thinking for a moment as he asked the question.

"Huh. I've never actually tried doing that. . .but yes, I think I could. But I wouldn't. Water, without hydrogen bonds, becomes heavier when it freezes. . .heavier than water in its liquefied state. So let's say I take the hydrogen from. . .I don't know, a lake or something. When Winter comes, there wouldn't be a protective layer of ice on lake. Instead, it would freeze completely, killing everything in it. And I wouldn't be able to put the hydrogen back into the water after you lit it ablaze, because when hydrogen is set aflame in an oxygen environment, the end product is water--and not nearly enough to replace the hydrogen-less lake--"

Kahra paused, and then blinked at Mars. He probably had no idea what the hell she was rambling about, so she just looked down.

"Everything has to stay in balance." she muttered. "That's why I use carbon. The apple will simple stop existing and not set off a disastrous chain of events. Even if I took the hydrogen from just a bottle of water, the end product of it all still wouldn't be able to replace what I took, therefore throwing things out of balance."

She sighed.

"So even though I can technically do anything with my power, the end results are absolutely disastrous." she sighed.

((Warning: Kahra's kind of super smart >.>))

"Alright, so do you prefer fighting melee or range? Like, can you fling crystals at people? I can work with either one, but if you were range that would really be something. . ."

Cylva laughed softly at the girl's movie reference. "That definitely sounds like it could be quite useful.

"Well, I haven't really fought anything before... so I'm not entirely sure which I prefer," she winced slightly, hating how useless she sounded. "And... I've never really tried to fire any sort of projectile. In theory, it sounds like I should be able to, but I haven't the slightest idea how to go about it. So I guess, for the time being, it's going to be melee," she smiled, almost apologetically. Well, if I'm going to be fighting something that could potentially kill me, it would probably be best to have use of both arms. Cylva closed her eyes, and focused hard on all of the different sensations in her left arm. She felt the strain of her muscles, as she held her arm rigid, and the gushing of her blood through her veins. Though she impulsively tried to stop the crystal from flowing, Cylva told herself her life could be at stake here. She remembered her previous experiment, and released her hold on it.

The effect was incredible; her left arm swelled up, nearly to twice the size of her right, shredding through the left sleeve of her Lavender top. Oops. A large shard of the crystal protruded from her shoulder blade, appearing as a large spike, which would provide some protection to her neck. At the tip of her hand, a set of claws grew, though on this hand they were serrated, and a few inches longer. Upon opening her eyes, Cylva was greeted with the sight of the significant transformation that had taken place within her body. She gasped, studying her right arm.

"Well, I guess I've gotten a little bit better at it..." she offered a sheepish smile to Lyra. Are my arms different, or were the effects greater because of my state of mind? The situation puzzled her, but she decided not to question it, for the time being. "I suppose I'm as ready as I'll ever be, when the time comes," she said, offering a sheepish laugh to her collaboration partner.

~Rafaela~

Rafaela was surprised, and slightly amused, by the reaction that she got. She almost thought that touching other people had become illegal.

"Y-you dare hit me!? Insolent filth! What is wrong with you? Do you have no manners!? How dare you even presume to touch me let alone approach and greet me as if I'm someone you've known forever!"

"Geez, relax! I'm sorry I touched you." However, the tone of her voice and her expression showed everything else, except regret. She watched as he turned away for some time and then turned to her again, it was amusing to see him approaching her with such cautious and suspicion. She almost laughed at that, but contained it just in time, it would be no good to alarm the boy even more.

"I...apologize for my..sudden outburst. You surprised me quite a bit. I am Isaak.. as you probably know by now."

Rafaela snorted at the obvious pain that Isaak was at that moment, he made it look like the most difficult moment of his life, as if his life depended on it. She lifted her eyebrow as he shuddered and wiped his hand with a handkerchief. Well, now she was feeling insulted.

"I don't carry any disease, you know." She said with a hint of amusement. I bet he's rich and spoiled. She thought. Well, he did say something about a Heidrich Industry. Tsk. Ricos. She released a sigh. Raph approached him, visibly invading his personal space.

"Well, you heard the teachers. We should get to know each other, understand each other's powers, and talk... In other words, bond." She smirked.

~Lyra~

"Well, I haven't really fought anything before... so I'm not entirely sure which I prefer,"

Lyra nodded, tossing her hair over a shoulder. She was already thinking of what she could to to protect this girl. Thinking back on what happened when she and Mars were "sparring", the Wall of Earth probably wasn't a very good idea. Maybe Lyra had just made it way to tall. . .

"And... I've never really tried to fire any sort of projectile. In theory, it sounds like I should be able to, but I haven't the slightest idea how to go about it. So I guess, for the time being, it's going to be melee,"

"Oh, okay." Lyra smiled. "I can work with that. . .I hope. . ." she said, trailing off slightly. What was something she could do?

"Well, if this monster really starts kicking your butt, I guess I can encase you in the ground and dig a tunnel so you can escape." she suggest, tapping her fingers along her chin. "Maybe I could try to make some armor for you, too! That would be so cool! But I figure I should practice that on something inanimate, first."

Lyra gave a small laugh.

"I guess we'll figure it out as we go along." she shrugged. "When you're thrown into the deep end, you have to choice but to learn how to swim, am I right?"

~Basic Healing and Protection 101~

Mars placed his hand on his chin, listening intently on her explanation. He hadn't really consider the possible consequences of doing it, so it was interesting, if not a little disappointing, to hear. He'd done a lot of studying in the different fields of science in order to get a decent understanding on possible powers that may or may not exist, so it wasn't like she was speaking an unknown language. It was surprising, though, that was for sure. "You have a point. I guess I was thinking too much on the theory of it and not looking at the long term affects. I guess you really need to be careful when using powers like that." He was pretty happy that the partner he had been paired with was smart, though he subconsciously hoped that she wasn't too smart. Though this stuff wasn't new to him, it seemed that Kahra was very well learned, at least in this field. He'd prefer if he wasn't beaten so easily. As far as combat went, though, her main limit seemed to be herself. At least he knew that in theory she could pull hydrogen out of water, so if it became absolutely necessary it could be done.

"Well, from what you've said, it sounds like you prefer to use close ranged combat, correct?" Mars had a slightly concerned look on his face. He was still an amateur at protection, and even though he felt he would do a good enough job anyways, his flames made it a little tricky."Well, if that's the case, then the extent of what I can do is repel an enemy with a fire wall or contain them. You'll need to be extra careful as to avoid getting burned, though if you have any ideas or long range abilities then feel free to share." Hopefully she would be as smart as she was before when it came to battle strategies, as even the brightest of people can falter when it came to applying that knowledge.

"Well, from what you've said, it sounds like you prefer to use close ranged combat, correct?"

"That is correct." Kahra smiled.

"Well, if that's the case, then the extent of what I can do is repel an enemy with a fire wall or contain them. You'll need to be extra careful as to avoid getting burned, though if you have any ideas or long range abilities then feel free to share."

This is when a smile spread across Kahra's face.

"I could probably just push the elements of the fire aside, you know, the oxygen and everything, walk through, and then put them back. And if I need to get back behind it, I could do the same. . .heck, if you could almost create like. . .a fire suit on me, I could almost create a protective layer around my body. It would hurt me, but if this monsters touched me, it would be burned." she suggested. "And since I wouldn't be trying to change, use, or eliminate any of the elements. . .just moving them. . .I should be able to put them right back."

The girl wove her fingers together, biting down on her lip and hoping her idea wasn't too impossible for him.

"Basically, you'd just have to catch me on fire." she laughed. "THIS GIRL IS ON FIIIIRE!"

Bad joke, bad joke, bad joke, bad joke, oh my God, I just need to crawl into a hole and die.

Shinji frowned when Blake was gonna leave him, wanting to maybe skip class again with him but they couldn't do that or surely Shinji would get a blast in the face by Exploding Caige for missing class. About to also leave the cafeteria, Blake suddenly lifted his mask up and giving a quick kiss on the cheek as the sound of childish witnesses all "oohed" and stared as Blake left Shinji frozen there but a smile creeped on his face though no one could see it, Shinji was pretty happy as a strange warm feeling emitted from him that scared the heck out of everyone. No one would expect the bad boy to be able to have such a flowery atmosphere around him and kept their distance from Shinji.

Walking out of the cafeteria, Shinji went off to class, his fluffy feeling slowly went away and he return back to his bad boy ways, his towering form giving off a bad vibe to not mess with him. Taking a seat in his usual desk, he waited until the professor come in, the teacher as usual coming in late as always. Out of breath, he explained that they would be fighting some monsters today, Shinji now giving some attention to the teacher when he heard that they would be going with their assigned partner, Shinji already knowing his partner since the first day,"Seems I won't be missing him any time soon." Shinji thought delighted not really paying attention to Caige as he explained about the rule though he did heard that last one.

"Number Four: Always remain alert. These suckers will rip of your empty little heads if you don't pay attention."

And with that said, Shinji kept in mind to watch his back and not get too cocky with himself.

~Basic Combat 101~

Shinji followed after the class, his mind wandering off on what he should do once the other crew arrived, the thought of Calista came into mind as he worried if she would be fine since she wasn't much of a fighter nor would her powers be of much help since her limit was only a maximum of five plus her powers had their side effects, Shinji slightly panicking over what he should do if that were to happen to her,"Sh**, I hope her partner will be able to help her." Shinji prayed hoping she would be all right but he snapped out of his thoughts once the two teachers started to call out the groups, Shinji hearing his name and Blake's called as he walked up and waited for Blake to come to him. Though he did worry for Calista, at the time being he needed to worry for himself and Blake,"Calista has her partner... she'll be fine." Shinji tried to convince himself looking at Blake with concern but he tried to hide it as he just tried to be his old teasing self,"Missed me babe?" Shinji asked in a teasing way though it seemed to be forced in a way as he glanced at Calista who was with some guy.

@magikarpfever

-----------------------------------

Calista jumped when she heard a familiar voice, turning around to see Blake standing there,"B-blake!" Calista chimed out happily seeing that someone had arrived to her rescue though she wasn't in any trouble but she was getting in a bit of struggle to try and chat with these guys but one of them seemed to be a nice guy, the new student being named Anthony, giving her a little rose that Calista didn't expect to get from first meeting, her face flushed bright red,"E-eh? O-oh... U-umm... T-thank you A-anthony." Calista stuttered out staring at the rose and having a gentle smile on, her tense shoulders loosen up a bit.

She never got a rose from people before, not even a gift like this to be honest since no one never really liked her in England. She was isolated from others and never really looked upon as some special to get gifts from others. She was usually the only person who would never have a little decorated box on any holiday on her desk, always coming home empty-handed with nothing to brag about or show so to be given a gift by Anthony who she just met made her feel she could befriend this guy well.

Listening to his story, Calista felt bad for the guy to go through so much trouble but he was a hero too to fight the hijacker and save the plane,"Wow... A-anthony is like a h-hero in a w-way." Calista commented,"Oh, My name is C-calista Vance. N-nice to m-meet you Anthony." Calista said returning the smile but it wasn't long as Professor Eriwind entered the room,"Ah... S-sorry Anthony, I have to g-go to my desk b-but I-i hope to s-see you l-later." Calista said glancing at Blake and smiled before going off to her desk.

Calista sat at her desk and watched as Professor Eriwind lean back on her desk, Calista's eyes trailed off to see Aleksander sitting a few seats away from her, glancing away from his direction and blushed. Shaking her head, she tried to focus on Eriwind as she spoke about their collaboration project and how the team were changed a bit, Calista worrying that she would be away from Geno now,"Oh dear... I guess we may not be on the same group now." Calista thought and continued to listen into the instructions they were given. After the instructions and rules were told, Calista gulped and shivered when Professor Eriwind warned about the monsters in the woods since Calista was still not used to monsters.

She had encounter one before but she barely made it alive when it attacked her. Shinji was the one who saved her of course but he also got wounded by it before since they were still inexperience at the time in using their powers. Luckily, someone came and aided them but now Calista was to aid someone in fighting a monster but her powers were still managing plus her side effects. She wasn't fully confident in herself but it was just one monster... it couldn't be that hard for her as she took a deep breath and walked out of the classroom and in five minutes they were in the forest along with the other class as Calista noticed Shinji and Geno,"Ah..." Calista thought staring at Geno but as Professor Eriwind and Professor Caige called out the group names, she was disappointed when Geno wasn't part of her group, Calista watching him go to Veronica as her name was called along with a guy named "Tekis", Calista not sure who the guy was and walked up and waiting for her partner to appear,"I wonder who "Tekis" is?" Calista thought looking around.

@iLoriel2

"Maybe I could try to make some armor for you, too! That would be so cool! But I figure I should practice that on something inanimate, first."

As much as Cylva relished the idea of being completely encased in earth, particularly the first time the girl had attempted it... well, quite frankly, she actually didn't. At all. "Yeah... I'd say let's put that idea on the back-burner for now. It sounds like it could be helpful once you've got it down, though." The idea terrified her. She was severely claustrophobic, but at the time didn't feel it was necessary to let Lyra in on this little secret. After all, they may end up sparring some day.

"When you're thrown into the deep end, you have to choice but to learn how to swim, am I right?"

Cylva nodded in agreement. "Right!" Frightened though she was, there was no denying that she was best learning things in the heat of the moment. While she enjoyed studying certain subjects, she was definitely more of a hands-on learner. "By the way, did I miss anything major on Friday? As far as figuring out what we'll be fighting, or something along those lines?" Though the two didn't share a class, it was likely that if one class had been informed of the foe they would be facing, the other would be informed, as well. "I hate not knowing what we're up against. And while I'm s-sure the school's done this before, and knows what our limits will be, I just can't help but be a little bit nervous... y'know?"

Blake smirked at Calista's jittery, but happy stature. The guy named Anthony seemed nice, a little too cheerful for his taste, but nice. Going back to his seat Blake listened to the teacher drone on about the rules. Honestly it was basically common sense, they were dealing with monsters for crying out loud, it’s not like anyone in their right mind would try anything stupid. Soon they were outside and when they started listing out the partners Blake would have done a spit take if he had any sort of beverage. That's right, Shinji and I are partners. Does this really deserve any sarcastic comment? Alright it kind of does, the world ship us or something? Seeing familiar faces but not Shinji's, which was kind of weird seeing as he sort of stuck out like a sore thumb, with his gasmask and tall stature. Finally Blake spotted him, but something seemed off, he looked a bit fidgety and nervous, and the way he teased him was pretty forced.

"Don't give me that, I may have one eye but that doesn't make me blind, what's the matter..." Blake began but cut himself off when he saw Shinji glancing at Calista. "Oh I see what's going on, you're worried about Calista. Listen as timid as she is, I bet she could hold her own against a monster, have a little faith in her, plus she has a partner that will look after her, she'll be fine."

To calm him down Blake took Shinji's hand and gave it a light squeeze.

Mars listened as Kahra gave some suggestions. She definitely seemed to know her stuff. He was so used to being the one that would be attacking that it was good to get a few suggestions on how to better utilize their powers together. Plus, the nature of what she could do wasn't something he had thought of previously, meaning that it would take a while to adjust to and figure out how it worked.

"if you could almost create like. . .a fire suit on me, I could almost create a protective layer around my body. It would hurt me, but if this monsters touched me, it would be burned. And since I wouldn't be trying to change, use, or eliminate any of the elements. . .just moving them. . .I should be able to put them right back."

Mars' eyes widened, visibly surprised by the suggestion. He'd made suits of fire before and knew exactly how effective it was, but that was only on himself. He'd never been given the opportunity or needed to do this with someone else. It wasn't an impossibility, as he'd encased human-like targets in fire before, but it was a foreign idea to him that it would be used as a defensive technique instead. Well, with powers like hers he'd need to think out of the box in order to come up with the most efficient tactics. Seems like I got lucky with who my partner is.

"THIS GIRL IS ON FIIIIRE!"

Okay, maybe not. Pulling at his bandages absentmindedly, Mars spoke, ignoring the horrible abuse of the art of comedy that had occurred. "Good thinking, that sound like a great idea. I could possibly create a vortex of fire to surround and follow you as a second layer of protection, and you could just jump out when you were ready to attack. The issue with this would be that you wouldn't be able to see out of it, unless you can do something about that without giving vision to your opponent. This would conceal your exact location as well as act as a second barrier, as even with fire armor direct contact will still harm you. I could do this to the enemy instead, restricting their movements." He clasped his hands together as he finished. "Well, how do you feel? I think you're new here, so there's a chance that you're a little worried by the whole 'fighting monsters' thing, but it's nothing to be worried about."

Kahra was getting a little bit excited for the plan that she and Mars were devising, and was relieved that she had someone like him for a partner. He was obviously enthusiastic, listened to her ideas and offered his own, was kind, and obviously very smart.

"Well, how do you feel? I think you're new here, so there's a chance that you're a little worried by the whole 'fighting monsters' thing, but it's nothing to be worried about."

"Pffft, worried? I can't wait to kick some butt!" she grinned, her fist shooting into the air.

There was a pause.

Kahra slowly brought her hand down, tossing her head to the side as she said as nonchalantly as she could, "I mean, no, I'm not worried at all. . ."

She glanced back at him and grinned. Working him was, without a doubt, going to give her a good grade on the assignment, that was for sure. He seemed to have pretty good control over his powers (she tried not to look at his wounds while she thought of this). . .but Kahra couldn't help but feel like something would go wrong. She might've been smart, but she was still only fourteen years old. A lot could go wrong. She wasn't exactly the strongest girl. She was quick, but that was only because she was small. She couldn't help but wonder how big this monster was, and just hoped it wouldn't be able to crush her like a toothpick.

"Yeah... I'd say let's put that idea on the back-burner for now. It sounds like it could be helpful once you've got it down, though."

"You don't trust me?" Lyra sighed dramatically. She couldn't help but smile, and then said, "Yeah, that's probably the best idea. . .I wouldn't want to accidentally crush you. . .well, not that I would or anything. . ."

She stomped the ground twice, the earth beneath her trembling slightly as she did.

"This damn dirt is too soft, anyway. . ." she grumbled.

"By the way, did I miss anything major on Friday? As far as figuring out what we'll be fighting, or something along those lines? I hate not knowing what we're up against."

Lyra tilted her head and crossed her arms, thinking for a moment before shaking her head and saying, "Giovia didn't mention anything to us. . .but these monsters can't be that bad. It's only the first collaboration project, it's not like they're making us fight a dragon or something. . ."

And while I'm s-sure the school's done this before, and knows what our limits will be, I just can't help but be a little bit nervous... y'know?"

Lyra nodded and said, "Yeah, I understand. And you're brand new here, too. . .I've been here since I was fourteen, so I'm kind of used to everything. If it helps, Giovia and Xavier are both very cautious. If something starts going wrong, one of them will come and save you. . .well, if I can't, that is. And I can. You can trust me! They don't call me President for nothing, you know!"

Tekis saw a girl, standing around by herself. As if she was looking for something or someone. I guess I have to work with her, as everyone else has their own person to work with. Tekis walked up to the girl and said, "Greetings, the name is Tekis, Tekis Ruthbale, I assume you wish to think of a plan to tackle the dangers in the forest?" Why a woman? Out of all the people, a woman? I hope she does not slow me down like the past encounters. Tekis' voice was ice cold, emotionless was his face as he looked at the girl.

She seems smart enough, I hope she won't full around or talk for hours like some girls I have met in the past have. Surely not. This school if for people like me. People who have gone through the same experience... I hope this truly is different. Tekis pulled out a cigarette, never breaking contact of the girl, as he waited for her response.

@DeijiiChan

"Yeah, that's probably the best idea. . .I wouldn't want to accidentally crush you. . .well, not that I would or anything. . ."

"Yeah... of course not..." Well, that sounded convincing. Not. Good one, Cylva. She hadn't meant to sound offensive, and hoped she hadn't come across that way, she was just a bit wary of placing her life in the hands of someone she didn't even remotely know. Of course, the school took precautions, but still. Things don't always go according to plan.

"Giovia didn't mention anything to us. . .but these monsters can't be that bad. It's only the first collaboration project, it's not like they're making us fight a dragon or something. . ."

Dragons?! Do they actually exist? She'd only heard stories, and couldn't tell if the girl was patronizing her, or if she was serious. She'd dismissed the thought, previously, of dragons ever existing as being silly. Then she'd come to this school. That had definitely changed her perspective on the entire world as she knew it, just a little bit. If it were possible for Lyra to manipulate the earth around her, the girl she'd met earlier to control steam, and she, herself was practically made of crystal, why couldn't dragons exist?

"If it helps, Giovia and Xavier are both very cautious. If something starts going wrong, one of them will come and save you"

The thought was definitely reassuring. She was confident in the abilities of both of the teachers. Though she hadn't the slightest idea of what they were, you didn't just become a teacher of Basic Combat, or Healing and Protection, without knowing something about the material, right?

". . .well, if I can't, that is. And I can. You can trust me! They don't call me President for nothing, you know!"

Again. Cylva had nothing against Lyra, though she couldn't help but mentally noting she'd heard the girl called a gossip, more often than she had heard her referred to as President. The fact that she'd been at the school so long was definitely reassuring, though., and put Cylvaara's mind more at rest. "Great. Well, I guess we'll just sort of wing it, then?" You've got this. You can do it, Cylva. Just don't overthink it, like you always do. She was ready, and awaited further instruction from her professor.

Travis was straightening his disheveled hair and shirt after the flying incident during the walk. " Note to self: Don't eat while flying." He thought. His cheek from the left side of his face had a red mark from where he fell, but at least he saved the bowl and put it in his backpack. It was nice walking outside for a while on the way too...." Hmm.. What are we going to do again?" After a moment of thinking, he remembered that apparently they were going to fight some monster. He had no idea how to fight monsters or if he even wanted to, maybe his partner will be the main attacker while he will do some support or something.

Once they arrived at the gates, he heard his name being called along with a someone named Tami White. "Travis here!" He said his name out loud so that his partner can hear him. While waiting, he looked around the whole group of students from both classes. He saw many unknown faces along with some that he has met before. The many kinds of powers that he will witness today has made his very enthusiastic.

~Lyra~

"Great. Well, I guess we'll just sort of wing it, then?"

"Yeah! I mean, what's the worse that could happen?" Lyra grinned, patting the girl's crystallized shoulder, and somehow not getting cut in the process. She acted like she wasn't even the slightest bit nervous, but in actuality, Lyra was really on edge. She wished that she was paired up with Mars, Blake, or Veronica. . .but all of them were in Basic Healing and Protection 101 with her, so that was pretty much impossible. She had seen all three of their powers at work, and they'd seen hers. She just felt like she would be more comfortable if she were fighting alongside someone she knew better, and Lyra had a feeling that Cylva probably felt the same way.

But that didn't matter. The two would have to learn how to work together sooner or later. . .

It could be worse. I could be paired with Isaak. . .

She couldn't help but shudder at the thought. He would probably just take the F and refuse to work with Lyra. . .to be quite honest, Lyra was surprised that he was seemingly getting along with his two partners. . .of course, "getting along" for Isaak didn't exactly mean what it meant to everyone else.

But he wasn't her problem. Well, not at that moment, anyway. She just dreaded the day that he find out about her role at the school. . .he would find someone to make her feel bad about it. He'd go on and on how petty a role it was compared to his stature or something along those lines. Lyra had told herself repeatedly to not listen to a word he said, but she couldn't help it. Even when they were kids, and Lyra would try to tell her mother, she'd usually just ignore it because she felt bad for not being there for Isaak as much as she should. She had always told Lyra that he didn't have an easy life, but Lyra didn't see how that could be possible when he was a part of one of the wealthiest families in Germany.

Sighing, Lyra turned her attention back to Cylva, asking, "So, do you have any other suggestions?"

"Pffft, worried? I can't wait to kick some butt!"

Mars couldn't help laugh at her enthusiasm. "That's good! keep up that attitude, give it your all, and we should do just fine!" At first he was not looking forward to protecting some one when he felt that he should be the one fighting, but with Kahra as his partner it looked like he wouldn't mind as much. Sure, he would still prefer that their places would be switched, but she had a lot of potential to be extremely talented in the field of combat. There were too many people that relied too much on their strength and luck alone rather than a good plan and thinking, so it was nice to see someone else with good plans. Besides, he could use some time to work on being a defender instead of always being the attacker. Since he had basically finished his fire missile with only a few minor tweaks needed, he could now focus on protection techniques, specifically ice. He'd pretty much exhausted fire, and having a little variety thrown in was always a good way to catch someone off guard.

Still, there was a bit of doubt in the back of his mind. She looked rather young, meaning that the enthusiasm she showed could just be naivety instead of confidence. This could lead to underestimating the opponent or overestimating her own ability. Furthermore, close combat brought greater risks, as if she hesitated for even a second for any reason at all, it would be very difficult for him to provide support. There was also his own hubris that he would need to look out for, and would need to restrain himself from getting into the fight himself. After all, even if the fight was won, if he as a healing and protection student was the one to do the fighting, his marks would probably suffer. Mars shook his head. Too many negative thoughts would lead to doubt. "So, anything else you want to discuss? More techniques, strategies, general concerns?"

Shinji must be the most luckiest guy on this earth to be able to get his hands on someone so observant as Blake, feeling Blake's warm body heat emit from his hand through his own as Blake gave him a gentle squeeze, Shinji returning squeeze with his own and smiled though Blake couldn't see it, Shinji's eye glimmered with brilliant red like a ruby stone in the sun and his eyes soft to melt any ice,"Thanks Blake, I'm pretty lucky to have someone like you by my side." Shinji admit, wanting to just take off his mask and kiss Blake right there but he couldn't and instead just held onto Blake's hand not wanting to let it go,"So... what your technique?" Shinji asked now questioning what kind of power Blake possessed since he had never seen it nor have he even asked this question before,"I expect you to have something useful to protect me since you are in the Basic Healing and Protection Class." Shinji said trying to think up what kind of power Blake could have.

To Shinji, he thought Blake would have a healing magic or a barrier of some sort but then again, Calista was in the same class as him so he could have something else. But then it came to mind to Shinji,"How can Calista even protect? The only way she could do that is by controlling the mind of another but could she really do that?" Shinji thought,"No... this isn't the time to worry about her, she'll be fine... she's smart." Shinji reminded himself, squeezing at Blake's hand to keep himself focus on the fight and not on others.

While looking around for the "Tekis" guy, a tall fellow approached her, Calista staring up at him and gasped,"S-scary!" Calista thought, her actions more like a scared mouse frozen in place. She knew that Tekis must have been a guy but to be someone with a stern face and a cold aura surrounding him, Calista wasn't sure if she could work well with this guy, her eyes not meeting his as she jumped when he started too speak and introduce himself. Taking a deep breath, Calista tried to act tough, her eyes trying to meet with his but she only failed to, glancing away quickly after just a few seconds of looking at him,"U-umm... N-nice to meet y-you T-tekis." Calista started, her stuttering tone coming on,"M-my n-name is... C-c-calista V-vance... u-umm... y-yes I p-plan to have a-a plan before a-action." Calista managed to say, her thick lens hiding her blue eyes and the fear that she held in them but her voice fully told Tekis that she was pretty scared of the dude especially with his tone... it made Calista a bit uncomfortable and feel as if she was being hated already just before she even knew who he really was.

"He must not like me... it's expected since I must be a sore eye to him." Calista thought bringing herself down but she couldn't let this guy get to her so easily, they had just met and already he was starting to be cold to her, she needed to stand up. Holding her ground, she tried to look tough so she wouldn't be look down upon but with her short height, she must have look like a child more as Tekis took out a cigarette and started to smoke before her,"He smokes? B-but isn't that bad?" Calista thought and panicked since she had learned that smoking was bad and could kill you or so she heard from Shinji who always warned her never to do anything bad like a worry father he is,"S-smoking i-is bad... Y-you shouldn't s-smoke." Calista said, scolding him in a way but it wasn't much of a warning since she couldn't even meet his eye, her cheeks glowed a bright pink at how childish she was being.

"Yeah! I mean, what's the worse that could happen?"

"Well... we could die." Her tone was grim, and she released a hollow laugh, no sign of a smile reaching her face. Though she outcome was extremely unlikely given her and Lyra's ability to defend themselves, and the intervention of the two professors, if necessary, it was still possible, and all too real for Cylva's liking.

"So, do you have any other suggestions?"

No. Not any good ones, anyway. She sighed softly, and turned to Lyra. "No, unfortunately not. At the moment, I can't really think of how our powers would be able to work together... like, at all. If I could just figure out how to fight from a distance, that would make it a bit easier. For the time being, though, any sort of barrier you can throw up, or anything along those lines, is likely going to inhibit me just as much as it will our enemy..." she trailed off, deep in thought. Could I create projectiles, even if I wanted to? The crystal that boy was able to remove earlier started to wither almost as soon as contact with my arm was broken. And if it is possible, will I even be able to fire them fast enough to do any damage? She sighed, growing less confident in her abilities the more she pondered the question. Either way, I've got some pretty sharp claws... she hadn't even felt the claw, as it had sliced her cheek open, earlier.

Blake blushed when Shinji thanked him, his heart practically melted and the fluttering feeling in his chest returned. Deciding not to reply to that as he was practically burning up with embarrassment Blake shrugged and continued holding hands with Shinji, basking in the warmth of this little moment. However Blake was surprised he never actually told Shinji what his power and vice versa, considering they were enrolled in a school that was oriented towards people with powers and they were dating. Better late than never I guess, besides I'm curious as to what his power is...seeing as he is in the combat class it's probably pretty destructive...

"Well your expectations are indeed right because my power of the book definition of protection, I can make force fields. The force fields are basically this purpleish energy barrier that I can conjure up," Blake revealed. "Don't know why I'm explaining though since you're just going to see them soon anyway. So what's your power?"

Maria Scarlette

The crowd seemed like the closest thing to Hell Maria had ever seen, aside from the streets of New York, of course. "Where are my partners? I can't even recall their names," Maria sighed. Maria put her bag over her shoulder and pushed her way through the crowd - Gently, of course, so as to not irritate anyone. "Hello?" She called out. "Is anyone in a group with me?" She didn't seem to be speaking loud enough, but she didn't want to be too loud; If she yelled and everyone suddenly went quiet... Oh, that would be a nightmare.

Rafaela-somethingorother and Isaak whatsits were their names, I think, Maria thought. "Rafaela? Isaak? Hello?"

Maybe introducing herself to more people would have helped.

Mirabelle Ami

The girl had just woke up... And ran away.

What.

Ami felt her hand get shaken, and then the girl was gone.

WHAT.

Ami sighed. "Eh... Damn it. This is what I get for trying to be nice, huh?" Ami ran to class as fast as she could, slamming the door to her dorm behind her, then continuing through the halls. She looked around at the doors and listened for classes nearby. She eventually found herself in the Basic Combat 101 classroom, finally. Good, now I don't have to run around anymore...

"Mirabelle Ami and Aleksander Denucio. . ."

Aleksander, Ami thought. An interesting name, I guess, but... Where is he? Hopefully he's wearing a name tag or something. Rather than shouting him out, Ami waited for this Aleks guy to come to her. He would, probably, if she used her power right... Ami rested with her back to the wall behind her. "Hooray for classes. Yaaaaaay, so fun."

Gwendolyn Friar ---------------------------------------------

THE REST OF her conversation with the small group was shot down by school hours, at least she'd met a girl who seemed nice, and her roommate. On the other hand she'd met that arrogant boy, too. Handing out roses like some wannabe Don Juan. That one line in particular really pissed her off.
"Pick one or don't but PLEASE try not to be so mean about a gift it's not like we can't just be friends." First, he'd called her mean. Second, he assumed she wanted one of them. Third, he called those pieces of trash "Gifts", had he no self awareness? Fourth, "it's not like we can't just be FRIENDS."... He just assumed that they'd be a thing. What an ass. Whatever, he wasn't the worst dick she'd met. No, not by a longshot. (Also, don't take it personally, Gwen can be a b**ch)

As she got into class, she tried looking around for Geno. If she knew Geno right, he'd never SIGN UP FOR a healing and/or protection class. That wasn't Geno's thing. Nope. She couldn't spot him though. The teacher came running through the doors, breathing heavily. Gwen frowned. How unproffesional. Well, she guessed that she couldn't expect the same standards for her school teachers, that her private teacher had had. Either way, she didn't know the man yet, he might be better than he seemed. Apparently some changes in collaborations had been made. Not that it mattered to her, she didn't even know her original pairing. If she had one.

Following the teacher outside, another class closed in on them, led by another teacher, she supposed. So this was the healing and protection class, eh? Wonder who she was paired with. Wonder if they'd accept her though.. She didn't exactly have high offensive qualities, she just figured her protective qualities were worse when she got into this class. Geno was called out first, and she heard a faint voice somewhere. It sounded like his. She still couldn't spot him though.

She had to wait for some time before she was called out though, being in the last group. She had two group members? She got a little panicked, seeing as she would probably let them down. She pushed the emotions aside and enthusiastically shouted "That's my TEAM, where are you-" She was cut off by a loud familiar voice.
"THE WHAT?"

But in the@Kriyze

~COLLABORATION PROJECT #1~

~Professor Xavier Caige/Professor Giovia Eriwind~

"Alright, enough chit-chat!"
Giovia said, placing her hands on her hips after seeing everyone pair up. She looked at everyone, who seemed to be getting along well enough with their partners, and nodded. "It's only a fifteen minute walk. I trust Xavier told the Combat students the rules, yes? If you break any of the rules, it will result in automatic suspension, does everyone understand? Yes? Good. Let's go."

Xavier pulled out an old, gold-ish key from his pocket and slipped it into the gate's lock, giving it a firm twist before the gate swung open, seemingly on its own. The man yanked the key back from the lock and dropped it into his pocket. He then ushered in Giovia, followed by all of the students. He made sure nobody was left behind, and then closed the gate, which locked automatically.

After a few seconds, they had reached the outer-skirts of the forest. Xavier glanced back at all of them and said, "Remember. Don't. Touch. ANYTHING."

He glared at them all for a moment before turning back towards the forest and reached out a single hand. He pushed through the greenery with ease, revealing a narrow path that would lead them to their destination. After everyone was in, the forest had seemingly swallowed them up. The entrance was now hidden by roots, vines, and weeds as it had been before. It really seemed like any other forest at first, except when you looked up, you couldn't see a single trace of the sky. Only fragmented sunlight peeked through the thick canopy of treetops. As the group drew further into the forest, some began to hear strange noises. Odd clicks, low growls, and the almost somber chirping of birds. Xavier narrowed his eyes at this, glancing over at Giovia, who muttered to him, "I feel it, too."

Something was wrong. The usually social creatures had drawn back into their caves and nooks, the roots seemed to wilt under their feet, and the atmosphere wasn't as magical as it was. . .sad. Hopefully the students wouldn't notice.

Eventually, everyone had come to the clearing of which the teachers had spoken of. It was incredibly large, about the size of five by five football fields. Scattered across the field were many monsters, all caged, about as big as very large dogs. They were all obviously the same species, but some were spitting while others were wailing. . .

. . .they all looked angry.

"Alright. Here's what's going to happen. Everyone and their partners are going to go up to a cage. Stand about ten feet away, and beneath your feet, you will find a switch. Flicking this switch will open the cage, thus beginning your battle. Be. Careful." Xavier explained. "These are called Nor'zlads. They look scary, I know. . . Be careful of their horns, as they could charge you and run you right through. Their claws could snap your neck. Their tails can break your leg. But they are very, very, VERY slow. Also keep in mind that their armor isn't very thick. If you kill the creature, that's good. . .very good. But whether or not you actually kill it doesn't really effect your grade. It's how you fight. Understood?"
