2000 IQ Killjoy Detective
Mars winced slightly as his leg was lifted up onto the table. He suspected as much, but it was still reassuring to hear that it was nothing serious. He would just need to take things easy and not do as much running. If it was more serious it would mess up his whole training schedule and possibly impact his performance in protection class. "I don't think I'll need a crutch. I'll just move a little slower." He moved his ankle lightly as to feel the slight pain.
"Yes, yes, Mars, I'm afraid you do have a heart condition. It's called Certe Superbia."
Mars let out a long sigh of relief at this news. That's good. Looks like I was worried for nothing. Of course, after a bit of thinking, a small bit of worry crept back into him. A heart condition was definitely not a good thing, especially something he had never heard of before. He had no idea how severe it could be or the cause of it or how it would affect his performance. He winced as Elsa cleaned up his injuries, mildly tightening his muscles in pain. This isn't good. I never heard anything about this Certe Superbia in my family, so it isn't genetic. Maybe it's just a minor thing that'll blow over in a few days. And why is she smiling at this?
"The symptoms of Certe Superbia are loss of appetite, fluttering of the heart, redness of the face. . .do you experience these symptoms when you are with Lyra? And where else does it hurt on your arm, dear?"
"Mostly just the left underside of the arm." He ran his good hand around the area he felt a slight sting still lingering. His mind went to thinking about the symptoms she listed. Yes, he remembered feeling these in the last few days, though was it when he was always with Lyra? It hadn't been till recently that the symptoms had become prevalent, but Lyra was always nearby. "Yeah, I have been experiencing these symptoms near Lyra, but it only started recently." If this was a condition, then why did it only happen now? Was it some disease that needed time to incubate, or was it an allergy of sort? "It wasn't till this new kid and Lyra started spending more time together that it started. Maybe that has something to do with it. I don't know much about this, but maybe it was something he wore that caused this, possibly his cologne." A long worried sigh escaped his lips. "How severe is this 'Certe Superbia'? What exactly is the cause?"
