Fantasy Hawthorne Academy

Mars winced slightly as his leg was lifted up onto the table. He suspected as much, but it was still reassuring to hear that it was nothing serious. He would just need to take things easy and not do as much running. If it was more serious it would mess up his whole training schedule and possibly impact his performance in protection class. "I don't think I'll need a crutch. I'll just move a little slower." He moved his ankle lightly as to feel the slight pain.

"Yes, yes, Mars, I'm afraid you do have a heart condition. It's called Certe Superbia."

Mars let out a long sigh of relief at this news. That's good. Looks like I was worried for nothing. Of course, after a bit of thinking, a small bit of worry crept back into him. A heart condition was definitely not a good thing, especially something he had never heard of before. He had no idea how severe it could be or the cause of it or how it would affect his performance. He winced as Elsa cleaned up his injuries, mildly tightening his muscles in pain. This isn't good. I never heard anything about this Certe Superbia in my family, so it isn't genetic. Maybe it's just a minor thing that'll blow over in a few days. And why is she smiling at this?

"The symptoms of Certe Superbia are loss of appetite, fluttering of the heart, redness of the face. . .do you experience these symptoms when you are with Lyra? And where else does it hurt on your arm, dear?"

"Mostly just the left underside of the arm." He ran his good hand around the area he felt a slight sting still lingering. His mind went to thinking about the symptoms she listed. Yes, he remembered feeling these in the last few days, though was it when he was always with Lyra? It hadn't been till recently that the symptoms had become prevalent, but Lyra was always nearby. "Yeah, I have been experiencing these symptoms near Lyra, but it only started recently." If this was a condition, then why did it only happen now? Was it some disease that needed time to incubate, or was it an allergy of sort? "It wasn't till this new kid and Lyra started spending more time together that it started. Maybe that has something to do with it. I don't know much about this, but maybe it was something he wore that caused this, possibly his cologne." A long worried sigh escaped his lips. "How severe is this 'Certe Superbia'? What exactly is the cause?"

~Nurse Elsa Longstorm~

"Mostly just the left underside of the arm."

Elsa quickly cleaned up the rest of Mars's arm, and properly wrapped it as he spoke.

"Yeah, I have been experiencing these symptoms near Lyra, but it only started recently. It wasn't till this new kid and Lyra started spending more time together that it started. Maybe that has something to do with it. I don't know much about this, but maybe it was something he wore that caused this, possibly his cologne. How severe is this 'Certe Superbia'? What exactly is the cause?"

Is this kids serious?

"You honestly didn't realize that I was completely lying? I totally made up Certe Superbia." she laughed, patting the boy's back. "Certe Superbia, in English, is Giant Crush. Get it? You have all of the 'symptoms'. . .it's just when this new kid started spending more time with her, you felt a little but threatened, and these 'symptoms' manifested themselves more clearly."

Elsa clasped her hands together and, like that, was off in her own little world.

"Oh! Young love is such a beautiful thing. . .GO, MARS! Go to her! Be with her! LOVE HER! DON'T LOSE HER! GO TO HER NOW! GO!" she cried, spinning around.

That was it.

Elsa was completely insane.

Shinji was pleased that Blake wasn't like most people, selfishly bossing people to do things for them but Shinji didn't mind if Blake could be a bit selfish with him though Shinji also liked having Blake's attention more on his needs. As Blake took Shinji's hand and dragged him to where the food was, Shinji just let him do as he pleased, a smile creeped on Shinji's face but today he was wearing his mask so no one could see what he has been hiding. After what happened two days ago... Shinji's face was now seen by Calista, Kuro and now even Blake but being even, Shinji also knew what had been under Blake's patch all this time.

Shinji didn't mind the school lunches since he had been through worse than eating school food(not like he ate dirt or anything ._.). Shinji had lived a life isolated from others with his mother who abused him as a kid ever since he moved from England back to his homeland, Japan leaving Calista behind. His life back then was like hell but now he could forget that life now. Living there was a nightmare but he was able to leave the place at long last after working at some jobs to save up some money.

Using the money he earned, he left his mother in secret and ran away to go be with Calista, crashing at her house and staying there for the time being but he only stayed for a week until school began. Shinji soon enrolling into the school with Calista but only because he had nothing to do and being home alone with her family wasn't what he really wanted so he followed after her into the school or more like he was forced to by Calista, the small girl though being timid could be very scary when angry.

Feeling Blake's hand let his go, he decided to just get a banana, grabbing the crescent-shaped fruit and peeling it and moving his mask to the side so he could have a bite, crewing on the sweet taste,"Shall we go to class now or waste some more time chilling? We still have a few minutes." Shinji said throwing away the peel.

------------------------

Calista giggled at Geno's statement, her tense figure loosen up a bit but she still felt that her power was useless though Geno did have a point that it could be useful for a supportive role though he also had a point that her power's side effects sucked, to forget people and go blind, what a terrible combination they were,"Training?... I could try but..." Calista trailed off on her sentence as she sighed. How could she train or mostly the question was who could she even use her powers on? She couldn't just use her powers on just anyone, not even Shinji could help her. She had tried before using him as her dummy but something strange occurred when she did it. His mind had a dark presence in it that she couldn't control over and a whole lot of problem happened after that so she made sure not to do that again, shivering at the thought of that time.

Looking down at his hands, she gasped softly when she saw a little metal rose in his hand, Calista stared in awe at how beautiful it was,"So pretty." Calista whispered out watching the little rose shine under the sunlight brightly but she soon snapped out of it when Geno began to speak, talking about his own abilities and then showed her the wound he got on his hand, Calista gasped and took his hand,"Are you okay? What incredible powers you have though, I think you are pretty cool." Calista said but let go of his hand as he attached the rose to her sleeve but then looked towards his watch and started to panic a bit. Turning on his heels, he ran off leaving Calista all alone again and again without even saying a "goodbye" or maybe even a "see you later" as Calista waved at his retreating back,"Time for class." Calista thought and went off the same way Geno went but took a different turn, going to Professor Eriwind's class.

Walking into the room, she glanced around her to see not many had come yet but she did she a boy sitting at the far corner of the room along with another boy who seemed to be trying to chat with the guy,"New faces? They must be new here." Calista thought as she looked around more to see if she could found Aleksander or maybe even Blake but they were no where to be found in the room as Calista sighed,"I should make some friends but... no, you have to be strong and man up." Calista scolded herself and took a deep breath, walking up to the two boys and tried giving them a smile but she was so nervous that she must have a weird smile on as she tried to speak,"H-hello there, I've n-n-never seen y-you g-guys here, are y-you guys n-new to Hawthorne?" Calista started off, her nervous behavior coming back on again,"If only Aleksander was here." Calista thought feeling lonesome that her knight wasn't here so she could chat with him some more.

Eating the small clementine and then some of his apple Blake snickered at Shinji's attempt to eat his fruit by shifting his mask around. It was admittedly pretty cute. However when Shinji asked him if they should go to class Blake mentally face palmed 'crap, I didn't do the homework...whatever. I'll just half-a** something...' Normally not one to do this Blake couldn't find it in him to care; after all the night with Shinji was worth not doing the assignment, plus his power was force fields for crying out loud, he could figure out something, after all they were practically the definition of protection.

"As much as I would love to waste some time with you, I think I'll head to class," Blake informed him.

Before leaving Blake lifted Shinji's mask up a bit and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, earning even more stares from his peers. Walking out of the cafeteria Blake entered his class, already sort of missing Shinji, seeing as he was usually attached at the hip with him. Taking a seat Blake noticed Calista approaching two guys, Who the h*** are these guys? As curiosity plagued him Blake decided to approach the two, because why not? Also it looked like Calista was setting herself up for disaster as she was her usual stuttering mess.

“Hey you both, you guys new or something?" Blake asked bluntly.

Mars reddened around the cheeks upon hearing this. Let me believe what I want! Everything Elsa had said was exactly what he didn't want to hear. He was pretty sure that was the case anyways, but he was in so much denial that he opted to believe even the most ridiculous explanation. In fact, he preferred the idea of some unknown heart condition affecting him than the possibility that he actually has a crush on Lyra. At least he understood the concept of a disease or illness or conditions changing his hearts normal function. Mars stood up suddenly, tripping forward slightly.. "A-are you completely sure? It could j-just be some sort of huge coincidence! I mean, w-why would I have a c-crush on Lyra? It just makes no logical sense!" His face was now almost as red as his hair, his finger waving in an accusing fashion. He had asked Elsa what was going on, and he had expected that this would be a likely answer, but he really didn't want to hear it.

"Oh! Young love is such a beautiful thing. . .GO, MARS! Go to her! Be with her! LOVE HER! DON'T LOSE HER! GO TO HER NOW! GO!"

Welp, looks like she's gone over the deep end. Without saying a word, Mars grabbed his bag which was left by the door and exited the infirmary with haste, at least the most haste he could do with an injured ankle, taking deep breaths as he did so. He had no idea what to do in this situation. Was Elsa correct? did he actually fall for Lyra? And if so, what should he do about it? Mars was so used to having a somewhat logical understanding and solution to a situation, but this... this threw him completely for a loop. Maybe she's just wrong. Yeah, that must be it. Maybe if I asked Crysta later I could get a real answer to this question. His head was a confused mess as he could barely focus on anything but the situation that had presented himself. Instead of making his way to the cafeteria, Mars plopped himself just outside healing and protection 101 and pulled a pre-made sandwich out of his bag, eating it with a blank look on his face. He may have been lost in thought, but he still knew that most teachers didn't like it when food was consumed inside the classroom, even if class hadn't started yet.

~Lyra~

Lyra practically flew out of the bathroom to get to the closet. After yanking on the basics (underwear, a bra, and some white knee socks) came the real challenge. Choosing what to wear. Lyra frowned. She didn't have time to be picky! The girl quickly grabbed a navy blue pleated skirt that went to about her mid-thigh and jumped into it, nearly falling over in the process. She then pulled on a white, long sleeved button up blouse and slipped into it, quickly tucking it into her skirt. She then slipped into plain brown loafers. Good, she was just.

Now, her teeth and hair.

Stumbling back into the bathroom, Lyra quickly raked a comb through her gnarly hair and then whipped it into her usual pigtails. . .and then she paused. She twirled the end of one of them around her index finger, and then narrowed her eyes, pulling them both out.

What am I, four?

Instead, she just combed her bangs forward and let her long hair fall down her back and over her shoulders in it's loose, natural waves, She nodded at her reflection, and quickly brushed her teeth before picking up her bag again and running out the door, forgetting to lock it behind her.

She had five minutes.

Lyra was
sprinting at this point, and just burst into the classroom just as the bell rang. The girl was heaving, and plopped down in the desk beside Mars as soon as she could, fanning herself with both hands.

Crap. I forgot to eat. Oh well.

ATTENTION!

IT IS 9:00 a.m! CLASSES ARE BEGINNING! If you are not already in your classroom, please head over!

"Yeah i'm new I can't speak for him though." Anthony said to both of the people there before pulling out the other glass objects. He tried to hand the girl the rose this time actually flirting a little he also held the glass snowflake out to the boy who had walked in.

"I'm Anthony Garcia but you can call me Tony. I would've been here yesterday but some idiot hijacked my plane and I had to knock him out and the pilot turned around." Anthony said as he let off a goofy smile which with his busted open lip and black eye must've looked like trouble.

"I'd love to get to know both of you." Anthony added to try and seem nicer and more friendly so they wouldn't react like that girl had earlier.

(Sorry if this post's horrible but there is a gas leak near my apartment and it's hard to focus now.

After declining the offer of the blueberries, Cylva glanced down at her phone, rious as to how much time had passed since she'd last looked.

8:57

"Gah!" she shrieked. "Class starts in three minutes!" Completely forgetting the other two people standing with her, she turned, and sprinted toward her class. I can't be late for my first day! Mother will KILL me! She sped through the halls, holding her right arm awkwardly in the air, to avoid accidentally maiming anyone (mostly herself). Upon reaching the class room for Basic Combat 101, she found a seat in a more open area of the classroom, sitting on her own, rather than next to someone else. She didn't recognize anyone in the room, and wasn't going to invite herself to sit somewhere she may or may not be welcome. If anyone wants to sit by me, they're more than welcome to.

As she sat down, her claws clunked noisily to the ground. Well, that's irritating. She pulled her right arm up, and placed it in her lap. Though the position was still incredibly awkward, at least she wasn't blocking the entire walkway between the desks. She pulled out a pen and notebook from her bag, unsure of whether or not the materials would be necessary. Better to be prepared, I suppose. She awkwardly gripped her pen in her left hand, and began to doodle, nearly laughing at how horrid her writing had suddenly become. Well, I really hope I don't have to write anything. At least until these damn claws are gone..

Sitting quietly, Cylvaara awaited the beginning of class patiently, unsure of what was to come, but eager to learn.

[Aleksander Denucio]

Aleks, after exhausting himself (Not really but..) by wandering through the halls, he finally found his class once again and was determined to remember his class this time. He walked in and smiled at everyone kindly and found his seat. Aleks looked around for the girl he had been talking to, hoping she was here.

[isaak Heidrich]

Isaak, having been able to acquire a map from the front desk lady, he entered his class, Basic Combat 101.

Ugh, the filth in this room is rank. My seat better be far away from these...filthy creatures..

(Sorry for short post, I don't have much to work with until I get a bit interaction haha..)

(Short and irrelevant posts are short and irrelevant.)

Maria Scarlette

Maria looked at the door to the Healing & Protection class with one hand on the doorknob and another on her bag. She opened the door and stepped in, then looked around - No one seemed to have come into class yet, it seemed. Maria sat in a desk near the front of the room and put her bag down under her desk.

"It shouldn't be long before class starts, I figure."

Mirabelle Ami

Ami admired herself in the mirror. "Hm," she smirked. "It's a simple outfit, but I might still turn heads."

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2014_07/ao2.png.90d623a07b67955417045eb0cbfc3302.png" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="22364" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2014_07/ao2.png.90d623a07b67955417045eb0cbfc3302.png" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Ami glanced over at the other bed in the room - Which appeared to have her roommate in it. Ami walked over to the girl and shook her shoulder gently. "Hey, um, you kind of have to wake up now. Classes are gonna start." Ami knelt beside the bed, waiting for the girl to wake up.

After Mars had finished his food and taken a seat in the class, he had been staring blankly at the front of the room, fingers entwined and chin resting on them. Usually he would be reading a book and studying up on a new technique for him to possibly use, but his mind at the moment was completely focused on what Elsa had told him. Am I really in love? I mean, we're just friends, right? What even am I supposed to do with this information? The concept of love was an illogical one that he had never been able to grasp, no matter how hard he tried, and now he found himself in a situation where he was now afflicted with an 'ailment' that he barely understood. He was still holding out hope that Crysta would tell him otherwise when he went to see her during lunch, but that didn't leave him anymore comfortable. All he could do was deal with things as they came.

Just as the bell rang, He saw out of the corner of his eye Lyra barged into the room and took a seat beside him, seemingly winded. He tensed up, his hands going tighter together. I really don't want to deal with this at the moment! He had no idea how to treat things knowing how he may feel about her. Should he try and ignore her until he learned more, or be up front and do things that way? In the end, he decided acting differently than he normally did would only draw attention, so he tried to act natural. Untangling his hands and straightening up, he frantically tried to think of a short comment to spout out. He didn't need to start a whole conversation as the teacher would begin class any second, just something that would seem like his usual small talk to make things appear unchanged. He turned towards Lyra and spoke, gripping the desk with his left and injured hand tightly. "And I thought YOU were the one who was supposed to tell Giovia I may be late. Seems like it s-should have been the other way around." He smirked lightly. Besides the momentary stutter and the violent hold he had on the desk, he seemed rather normal, though the few things that were off were things that were definitely odd for him to do.

(I hadn't technically had him enter the class yet, so that is what this was.)

Travis saw Cylva ran off, claiming that class was starting soon. He floated with the bowl of blueberry in hand for a few seconds before he started to quietly panic. "Uhohuhohuhohuhoh" He quietly said as his eyes darted to every direction, wondering what to do, when he realized that he had his power. His ability would probably allow him to reach the classroom. Just as the Crystal Girl left, he suddenly flew off to the direction of the classroom which he barely remembered, leaving the other girl behind. His power left a trail of colors as he flew. He snacked on all of the remaining blueberries as fast as he could, before a small incorrect movement left him spinning around in one direction. "Whoawhoawhoawhoawhoawhoawhoawhoa!" He span so fast, his colorful trail reflected his out of control flying. He slowly started to regain control until he did a full stop. When he got a hold of himself, he realized he was standing right in front of the door of basic healing and protection. "Whoa, that's lucky." He said just before his ran out of energy and fell face down on the floor, with the bowl in head. He quickly recovered, quickly entered the classroom and sat at one of the chairs while rubbing his face in.

"And I thought YOU were the one who was supposed to tell Giovia I may be late. Seems like it s-should have been the other way around."

Lyra lifted her head and shot a look at Mars. . .but she couldn't help but notice there was something off about him. Since when was Mars a stutterer? She had noticed him trip over a few words when they were talking earlier, but she hadn't really paid any attention to it. She gave him a small smile, and quickly pushed her hair out of her face.

Geez, now I remember why I usually wear pigtails.

"Hush up." she said with mock annoyance. "Now, what happened in the infirmary? I see she got you all patched up. . .did it hurt? Did she try to seduce you?"

Lyra snickered, reaching over and ruffling the boy's hair before taking a closer look at his hand. She still felt bad, defnitely. . .if she hadn't suggested the damn thing, he wouldn't be hurt. And if that weren't enough, she had let him hobble off to the infirmary all by himself just because she was too scared to say no to Isaak. What kind of friend was she?

"I'm sorry, Mars. . ." she said quietly, withdrawing her hand.

((CLASSES WILL OFFICIALLY BEGIN TOMORROW! I WILL POST WHEN I WAKE UP xD ))

~Rafaela~

After the encounter with the "Shadow boy", Rafaela headed to the cafeteria. Her mind kept going back to the boy, she knew he wasn't really fine, but she wouldn't keep pushing.

Rafaela spent a lot of time trying to find the cafeteria, and the spider on her shoulder didn't make it any easier. It sure liked to distract her. When she made it there, it was already 8:40, she didn't have much time. After ordering the food she simply stuffed it in her mouth, and chewed while on her way to the classroom.

9:05.

Droga, droga, droga, droga. Raph cursed in her mind. She was late. Well, that wasn't really a surprise. But still, it was quite embarrassing. Her marvelous sense of direction kept making her take wrong directions, once, she opened the door of the library, even if there was a sign that said "Library" right beside it. Rafa missed the door 3 more times, before finally opening the Protection and Healing door. She was sweating and panting, obviously, she has been running. The spider on her shoulder was firmly grasped on the girl's jacket.

"Please, help! Is this the Healing and Protection classroom?" Her eyes were widened in fear that maybe she got the wrong door again.

(Hey guys, a lot has happened and I am just joining now, so if I miss anything important, or have some days missing or something, then just tell me and I will edit the post. I am just going to skip through some of the events of the day, saying some things that might have happened, and then try to bring us up to speed as of Saturday evening)

Sam Polaris walked with a sense of nervous apprehension. He had been dreading this day for a long time, although he realised it was important if he was ever going to progress his skills. As he walked through the opulent gates, several students noticed him and began to make their way towards them, in response, Sam avoided all eye contact and walked away into the crowd. He spent the next hour or so in the top of a tall tree in the grounds reading a book after quickly making sure he was signed in and that his possessions were present.

After a while, he noticed the general hubbub of the entrance grounds dying down, and he realised the orientation was about to start. He watched from his vantage point on top of the tree until all but a few stragglers had entered the main building, then he quickly teleported down and entered as the last person. The orientation was about as interesting as he expected it to be, and Sam was very tempted just to 'port to the nearby village (town? city?), but knowing how important the first impression of him by the teachers could be, he decided to resist the temptation, and endured the speech. His first lesson followed quickly after, during which Sam began to question his choice in joining combat 101. Battle? Weapons? It didn't really seem like Sams kind of thing, given that Sams kind of thing generally revolved around leaving any form of battle as quickly as possible. He certainly wasn't looking forward to the practise sparring, but fortunately it appeared he would be spared having to do anything for now.

When the lesson ended, he realised he had plenty of free time, so he went to his dorm to sort things out, making sure he missed whoever it was that was supposed to be his room-mate. He would leave meeting people to later, he had earlier concluded, although when exactly later would be he had not yet decided. After the room was decidedly empty, he set up his belongings, and closed his eyes for about half an hour. Most people watching would assume he was meditating, but that would require much more focus than Sam Polaris possessed. Instead he was slowly linking himself to his old home in England. Usually it was about a second to travel a kilometer, but through earth and water it was much faster, meaning that what would usually take an hour and a half going through pure air only took around half an hour, given that his surroundings were completely quiet. He arrived at his home, which was empty given that his parents were on holiday, and went inside, spending the rest of the evening relaxing on his bed. He kept a careful eye on the time, knowing that it would get dark in America (this is set in America, right?) before it would get dark in England.

Sam returned to the Academy in time for final check, and nobody noticed he had gone. Maybe tomorrow he would make friends, maybe.

Tomorrow arrived. It was Saturday, and everyone was going on about stuff that was going to happen, and stuff that had happened last night. Sam avoided most of the discussion. Tomorrow he would make friends. He spent the day exploring every nook and cranny of the Academy, including (especially) the forbidden places. He had a close shave in the library, wherein he just teleported on top of a tall bookcase as a teacher came around, but besides that his ability kept him relatively safe from prying eyes. The nearby forest was very strange, he found. As when he tried to teleport into it, he found it was almost two places at once, causing him to be unable to teleport, and also giving him a splitting headache for about half an hour. There were a lot of interesting places in the school, and certain places he found himself unable to teleport into, or even sense, but he knew they must be there by the layout of the building. Sam grinned at this, knowing he would try his best to get in those places at some point. Not today though. Many people tried to approach Sam throughout the day, however most of the time Sam simply avoided contact, and when that wasn't possible he gave him self a sudden urgent expression and teleported away. At one point in the day, he found himself watching some kids bully some girl. He would have liked to help, but they looked kinda strong, and he didn't think he could do much, so he left.

As the day drew on, he realised he had pretty much seen everywhere he had access to, and began to grow bored. Maybe he would see if he could meet someone after all, maybe his room-mate, if he could find out who he was.

~Basic Healing and Protection 101~

~Professor Giovia Eriwind~

Giovia stepped out of her office, and it was pretty apparent that she hadn't gotten much sleep the night before. How could she? After what happened on Saturday, it was no surprise that none of the professors had slept very well. Every time she got close to falling asleep, she would hear a twig snap outside her window, forcing her to jump up and look out.

Of course, there was never anything there.

"Alright, students, class is now in session." she said, leaning back on her desk and scanning the room. "Today is the very first collaboration project, but a few of the groups have been changed up. Why? Xavier made some filing errors and we left out a couple of students. Do not be alarmed if you are no longer with the partner or group that you were assigned on Friday."

Giovia stifled a yawned, and then kept going.

"You will be meeting with your partners once we get outside, and then we'll all walk out to the forest together, but nobody is going anywhere until you learn the rules." she said, reaching back and sliding a piece of paper over to her. She glanced over it quickly, and then put it back down.

"Number One: You may only use your powers on the designated target. Example; Today, we're going to go fight monsters. Each group will have ONE monster to defeat. Those are your targets. You may not use your powers on anything besides YOUR monster unless given further instruction. One day, we may ask you to spar with another student, and then THEY are your target."

"
Number Two: Do NOT wander away from the group under ANY circumstances."

"
Number Three: We will be travelling through the forest and into a clearing. We may come across some monsters. DO NOT touch them. Most are not hostile, but WILL become defensive if you threaten it. Most of them are used to seeing people, so the chance that they will attack is very slim, but. . ."

Giovia looked at her students, and stood up.

"If you threaten them, these monsters are not like the ones in fairytails or on T.V." she said somberly.

"They will kill you if you give them the chance. Do not give them that chance."

"
Number Four: Always remain alert." she finished. "Does everybody understand?"

~Basic Combat 101~

~Professor Xavier Caige~

Xavier burst into the door, his chest heaving as he tried to catch his breath. He hobbled over to his desk and plunked down in the chair behind it. . .he had spent most of Saturday and all of Sunday catching those damn monsters for the students to fight. . .but he did it. He had caught the very last one not even ten minutes ago. He caged it, and then sprinted for the classroom.

"Good morning!" he wheezed, grabbing the folder that held all of the new collaboaration partners and fanning himself with it. "How are all of you today?"

"Well. . .class is starting now, so put away your cell phones and whatever."
he said. "You'll be happy to know that today is the first collaboration project. . .and I know that I gave you your partners on Friday but it seems I made a slight. . ."

Xavier swallowed, laughing sheepishly.

". . .error." he finished, running his fingers through his hair. "So you might not be with the person who I had originally paired you with. You might be, but. . .whatever. . .ANYWAY, we'll be meeting up with Giovia's class in a few minutes here and you'll get with your partner, or partners when we get there. But right now, we need to go over a few rules."

Xavier cleared his throat.

"Number One: You may only use your powers on the designated target. Meaning, no blasting a student with fire when you're supposed to be attacking a monster."

"
Number Two: Do NOT wander away from the group under ANY circumstances."

"
Number Three: We're gonna be going to a clearing that's about a fifteen minute walk into the forest. During those fifteen minutes, you might see a monster. Most of them are harmless and will only attack if they feel threatened, and they're pretty used to seeing humans. Don't invade it's personal space. Do NOT threaten it."

Xavier stretched, popping his back a few times in the process. Wasn't he forgetting one? OH YEAH!

"Number Four: Always remain alert. These suckers will rip of your empty little heads if you don't pay attention."

Both teachers gathered up their classes and head outside. The trip was pretty short for Xavier and his class, as the gate they were using to get out to the forest was closer to his classroom. For Giovia, it took about five minutes. She used every second of that time worrying. She worried about Kinya, she worried about the students fighting monsters for the first time. . .she worried about even taking them outisde of Hawthorne, especially after what had happened. What if that thing was out there somewhere? Giovia didn't want to think about it, she really didn't, but somehow, whenever she'd push the thoughts to the back of her mind, they came crawling back.

Thankfully, her class had come up the the small area next to the gate where Xavier and his class were already waiting. She greeted the man with a hug. Of course, she wouldn't have done this unless she had to whisper,
"Did you get the monsters?"

"It's all taken care of."

Giovia nodded, and stepped back. She looked over the students and said, "Alright, so here's how we're going to do this. Xavier and I are going to take turns calling out the collaboration groups. When you hear your name, step forward, and then group up."

"Geno Friar and Veronica Elizabeth McCarter. . ."

"Kahra Weatherstone and Mars Porter. . ."

"Mirabelle Ami and Aleksander Denucio. . ."

"Tekis Ruthbale and Calista Vance. . ."

"Cylvaara Lannis and Lyra Connerson. . ."

"Soraphine Grimaldo and Anthony Garcia. . ."

"Shinji Aramaki and Blake Jones. . ."

"Sam Polaris and Emma Farris. . ."

"Alain Ollistonand Lunatio "Luna" Grimaldo. . ."

"Tami White and Travis Ement. . ."

"And we have two groups of three. Rafaela da Silva Santos, Isaak Heidrich, and Maria Scarlette. . ."

"And Gwendolyn "Gwen"Friar, Solaira "Sol" Grimaldo, and Luke Bell."

Both teachers watched as the students grouped up, and then Xavier said, "Alright, take a few minutes to get to know your partner before we head off. I suggest learning eachother's powers, figuring out some sort of strategy. . .you get it."

~Basic Healing and Protection 101~

~Lyra~

aAs Giovia emerged from her office, Lyra turned away from Mars. . .she would talk to him later, right? The girl still couldn't get over feeling guilty about what had happened, and wanted to make it up to him somehow. But what could she do? She couldn't take back what happened, nor could she heal his wounds. . .

"Today is the very first collaboration project. . ."

Lyra glanced over at Mars again and bit her lip. How was he supposed to do anything in the condition he was in? Hopefully, he'd ask Giovia to let him sit out. . .or maybe ask her to heal him. After all, that was her power. Lyra gently tapped her fingers on her desk, and then looked down at her skirt as Professor Eriwind went over the rules. Lyra had heard them before, but she still listened. She almost wondered how many students would break the rules. . .there was always at least one in each class that deliberately broke every single rule to see what would happen.

Well, that's what Lyra had heard anyway.

Before she knew it, Lyra was up and outside, walking to meet with Xavier's class. She hadn't really noticed, she was so deep in thought. It didn't take long for them to make it over to where the Basic Combat 101 students were waiting. She watched the affectionate exchange between Giovia and Xavier, and raised an eyebrow.

Eh, maybe I'll just space out again. . .

And she did.

"Cylvaara Lannis and Lyra Connerson. . ."

Lyra snapped out of her daydream, and stepped forward as she heard her name called. Huh. . .Cylvaara Lannis. That definitely wasn't the name of the person who she had been assigned with on Friday, but she had no complaints. The girl looked back and forth, quickly finding the girl who she guessed was Cylvaara, and walked over to a space that one of the groups hadn't already taken.

"Hi there." the girl smiled. "I'm Lyra--"

The President's eyes drifted down to the the crystal that was completely engulfing the girl's arm. Should she ask?

"Uh. . .what is. . .I mean, it's really pretty and all. . .maybe it's just a fashion statement or something but. . .what is that?" she asked, tilting her head slightly.

~Basic Combat 101~

~Kahra~

"Hey, um, you kind of have to wake up now. Classes are gonna start."

Kahra grunted, and rolled over, shrugging her shoulder away from whoever's hand was on it.

"I don't wanna go to school, Mom, five more minuuuutes. . ." she slurred, her whiny tone making her seem like she was ten years old. Well, she didn't look far from it.

There was a pause, and then Kahra short up in bed. Her hair was absolute chaos, and she looked at the girl kneeling beside her bed. She studied her in silence for a moment before her eyes slowly drifted over to the clock.

"OH MY GOD!" she shrieked, springing out of bed. She pretty much stripped down right in front of whoever this girl was, throwing on a pair of jeans and a plain, pink tee-shirt. She jammed her feet into a pair of black converse and said, "Come on, we've gotta go!"

And with that, she was just gone.

There was another pause.

Kahra slunk back, quietly shook the girl's hand, and said, "I'm Kahra, by the way."

And she was gone again.

The girl had actually managed to get into Basic Combat 101 just in time to catch the rules, but she wasn't sure if the teacher had noticed her lateness or not. He didn't seem to, and that was good enough for Kahra. She trudged outside with everyone else and waited for the Basic Healing and Protection students. It didn't take very long, and before she knew it, Kahra's name was being called.

"Kahra Weatherstone and Mars Porter. . ."

Kahra looked around, and eventually saw he Mars Porter must've been. He looked oddly familiar. . .

Oh!

He was the boy from the Student Party. The one who was giving away the food. . .and he didn't look so great. His hand was all bandaged up. So was his arm. And she couldn't help but notice a small limp. . .had he hurt his leg or something? Was he in any condition to fight? She simply stood beside him.

Wait, was she supposed to say something first?

"Uh. . .hi. . ." she said, unable to look away from his injuries. "Err. . .are you okay?"

~(ATTENTION! Until the collaboration project is over, in each of your posts, please put ~Basic Healing and Protection~ (in green, doesn't matter which shade) or ~Basic Combat 101~ (in red, doesn't matter which shade). This just makes my job of keeping track of everything A LOT easier! You can put in anywhere, at the top of your post, at the bottom. . .it would just really help me! Thanks!)~

~Basic Healing and Protection~

Anthony stepped forward but when he looked for his partner his head almost exploded. "Where the hell is my partner!" He said not very loud but obviously disturbed by the lack of a partner there. He started to panic now who was he supposed to heal and protect? Would he have to solo the monster himself or would they throw some random partner at him? What was he supposed to do now would he have to do something different and miss out on the actual class. He hoped not that would terrify him if he had to miss the class.

"Um miss Giovia my partner seems to be not here. what do I do now?" Anthony asked but he was ready to argue to the death if she tried to remove him from the class. He was a hands on type of learner and if she removed him he would have a cow. Literally the last time he got extremely upset he made a cow out of the surrounding material. Anthony made it clear that he was there to stay for the class by using his power to make a fencing sword and a Handgun but also he started forming armor from the metals in the earth beneath them. " I refuse to sit and watch I'll do this myself if I have to miss Giovia!" Anthony said with a trouble making grin on his face And his grip on his weapons and armor was tightening and since he was getting ready to argue with Giovia his waist armor was thickening a lot.

Anthony could smell the nature nearby and felt it awakening and strengthening a hunger deep inside his soul. A primal urge to hunt and destroy anything that threatened him and those he loved. "If she starts this argument I swear on all things holy that she will regret trying to remove me because I'll rip this whole damn forest a new one." Anthony thought as he started to get into his combat mindset. Protect others and destroy or at least distract the threat until a opportunity presents itself and if one doesn't then bury the problem. Anthony felt his muscles tightening and getting ready for him to act in mere seconds and destroy any threat he had to. He could also smell the sap on the trees and hear the bugs digging in the dirt.

~Luke~

Luke had been daydreaming for sometime, nearly on the verge of sleep he was. The Irishman was never one for a nap but he appreciated if it came to him unwillingly, although the rest did not supply him with any entertainment in the form of a dream. Such visions were scarce things in the mind of the Holycross native, very few times would he actually a bona-fide, 'real' reverie. Nonetheless, the man eventually stirred from his sleep, putting a hand through ragged, curly hair to straighten it out as much as possible. Pins and needles ran up through his arm unfortunately so, a sensation that was never welcome in his mind. Trying to keep as still as possible, Luke kept his head glued to the desk to ensure no movement would occur from his otherwise pained body. He tended to take things out of proportion, as if he would die if even a single muscle twitched in his arm. Typical Luke Bell it was, typical Luke Bell it will always be. That was just the way he was going to be, a trait that he loved yet loathed slightly. The steps of people coming was well-noted by him, their interactions with each other apparent to his ears. He noticed the out-stretched hand of the man that sat right in front of him, but was simply so submerged into his daze that he simply couldn't reach out his own in reply. There was a decent crowd in the classroom he could deduct from the amount of buzz being generated from the newly-found occupants of the room. He was happy for them, the one thing he hoped as for them to have a good time. After the teacher had lead them out of the class into the forest with a sigh from the surprisingly tired native of the Emerald Isle, a smile erupted onto his face for the sake of smiling. After his name had been called out, he did what he was told and waited for his accomplices to show themselves before him. From the looks of it, they sounded like they were both women but that didn't bother him one bit; he needed to reach out to knew people other then the ones that constantly conversed inside his head.

"Okie dokie then," he said, crossing his arms whilst doing a cross to hopefully ensure their success, "Now I just got to wait for my partners to come around. I hope we all have a good working relationship with each other, the last thing I want to see happen is for one of us to get hurt. That would be awful."

Not really buddy! In the end, the only people you'll need we'll be the ones that are always with you; by that, I mean us! We're here with you all the time, although we have no bloody choice in the matter! But Gwendolyn Friar and Solaira Grimaldo eh? They sound like the biggest bunch of pretentious idiots to ever grace this bloody school! And we've only been here one day and such an assumption has greeted us! Who knows, they might be good people...blah blah blah! We don't need them, our power is all we need! We'll drag that monster into Hell itself if we get a good hold of him or her! But you need not worry, they will suffer, whoever they are!

Dead right. And that's what they will be, decapitated, dismembered, buried. We'll have a good time with this I can assure you, let the blood spill through this forest like a tidal wave! Time to go...berserk.

[isaak Heidrich]

Isaak sighed.

I'm in a group with two others? Seems to me that's two too many. Why should I, a noble, be put with such filth. I must restrain myself however. I am above all generous and kind, I should at least, let get to know them before I judge them as the filth they probably are. They will not be nearly as noble as I but perhaps they do have some worth in them.

Isaak looked around, not knowing anyone in this class, he didn't really know who he was put with. Not one to be deterred by something so simple as that, he was determined to let his partners know the privilege they have been given to be partnered with him.

"Fil- I mean, Maria and Rafaela! I am new to this class and thus do not know your faces, if you would kindly come find me, wherever you may be, I would greatly appreciate that. You have been given the privilege of being with I, Isaak Heidrich III son of Alfons Heidrich of Heidrich Industries." Isaak called out proudly.

That'll bring the simpletons running to my feet. Now, where could these fil- I mean, my partners be..

[Aleksander Denucio]

Aleks was excited but also a bit worried. He wasn't much of a fighter and didn't like to really fight anyone or anything, even if it was a monster. However, since he had a partner, perhaps that person would be able to help him with his predicament.

Mirabelle Ami... That is a good name, very pretty. Perhaps we can be friends.

Aleksander walked through the sea of students, trying to find his partner. The name was not familiar so unfortunately he would not be able to identify her by sight but that did not stop him from looking.

What does a Mirabelle look like? If I was Mirabelle, where would I be in this sea of students..

~Basic Healing and Protection 101~

Mars was relieved as Giovia entered and started class. Usually Lyra's mannerisms were fine to him and easy to deal with, but now they were killing him from the inside. The fact that seemed so guilty about what he assumed were his injuries made things even harder. He didn't really see them as her fault, but convincing her of that would be almost impossible. Hopefully once I figure out more about this 'love' I'll be able to act normally again.

"Today is the very first collaboration project, but a few of the groups have been changed up."

Well, that's a problem. He was all bandaged up and covered in injuries, as well as having to walk much slower than normal. How in the world was he supposed to keep up with a fight? He could still use some of his powers, but there were quite a few that would likely cause him more pain if he attempted them. It would probably be logical to request the teacher to heal up his wounds, but his pride told him no. It's just a couple of minor burns and scratches, nothing you haven't dealt with before. Besides, if I can't deal with this, what hope is there for me to be the best? Mars readjusted his hair as Giovia went over the rules. He was never in Healing and protection before, but they were quite similar to the rules in basic combat. Short summary: don't be an idiot. Following the teacher to the designated meeting place, Mars patiently waited for his and his partners name to be called once they arrived with the other class.

"Kahra Weatherstone and Mars Porter. . ."

Mars looked around to spot his new partner. I don't recognize the name, so it wouldn't be very- wait, Weatherstone!? As in Kinya Weatherstone!? He didn't want to jump to any conclusions, but Weatherstone wasn't a very common surname to his knowledge, so it was safe to assume he was correct. Of course, even if he assumed his partner and the Headmistress were related, Mars wasn't sure exactly what that had in store. Either way, as she stood beside him, he just hoped that his partner would be semi-competent, seeing as how he still believed he should be in combat classes.

"Uh. . .hi. . .Err. . .are you okay?"

Mars once again started examining the words she said in order to gauge what she was like. Even with so little, he guessed that she was a rather considerate person, judging from her hesitation to ask him about the severity of his injuries. There was the possibility that it was just his injuries that garnered this reaction and she wasn't actually like that, so he discarded his assumption. "I'm fine, so don't worry about it. After a few weeks here you'll get used to seeing me wrapped up in bandages." He chuckled as he adjusted the collar of his shirt, hoping she wouldn't be too worried. That would mean bad things over the course of the year. "So, I don't mean to rush things ahead, but let's get right down to business. What kind of powers do you have and how well can you use them?"

~Basic Combat 101~

~Kahra~

"I'm fine, so don't worry about it. After a few weeks here you'll get used to seeing me wrapped up in bandages."

Kahra smiled, slightly relieved that such injuries weren't uncommon with this boy. And he was her "protector", so it's not like he was really subjecting himself to much danger, right?

"So, I don't mean to rush things ahead, but let's get right down to business. What kind of powers do you have and how well can you use them?"

"I can manipulate the elements of the periodic table. . .well, not all of them. The ones I am familiar with."

She wasn't making any sense.

"Like. . .I can take the oxygen from the air around a person and suffocate them. . .I can manipulate oxygen because I've breathed it and. . ." she stuttered. Now she sounded like some sort of psychopath. The girl cleared her throat, and said, "But it's difficult, because that oxygen has to go somewhere else. . .and. . .well, let's just say I've got pretty good control over my powers."

The thing about Kahra's powers was that everything had to stay in balance. If she took oxygen from one area, she'd have to put it somewhere else until her enemy had suffocated, and then transfer the oxygen back, or every time somebody walked in that area, they too wouldn't be able to breathe. Kahra didn't ever use this technique.

"Usually, I just take out an apple, extract the carbon and turn it into a diamond weapon. . .I can do this because I've eaten carbon, since it's in mostly everything. . ." she tried explaining. Kahra had a very confusing power.

"What about you?"

~Basic Combat 101~

~Rafaela~

Two partners? Oh, this was going to be interesting! Rafaela was excited for this project, she wondered how this Isaak and Maria were like. Good people? Well, she hoped that. She started looking for both of them, not that it would give any results since she didn't know anyone in that school, when she heard her name being called.

"Fil- I mean, Maria and Rafaela! I am new to this class and thus do not know your faces, if you would kindly come find me, wherever you may be, I would greatly appreciate that. You have been given the privilege of being with I, Isaak Heidrich III son of Alfons Heidrich of Heidrich Industries."

Honestly? She didn't really like the tone of that voice. And she didn't recognize the name Heidrich. What? If they were really famous and important, Rafaela didn't care. Also, she lived in the woods for years, it's not like she had the luxury of TV and newspapers. She was only able to learn English when she was a kid, and during her stay in the asylum. They had books. She followed the voice that led her to a guy, Isaak probably. But she didn't see any other person, maybe her other partner still hadn't found them. Rafaela greeted the guy with a friendly slap on his back, while grinning ear to ear.

"Hey! So, you're Isaak, right? Nice to meet ya, Zak! I'm Rafaela, and I don't bite!" Rafaela said in her thick accent. She extended her right arm, expecting Isaak to take it and shake it. She scanned him with her eyes while waiting for the shake of hands, the grinning never leaving its place.

--------------------------------------------- Ambrogino Friar ---------------------------------------------

Leaving Calista sucked, but he had to. As he got into the classroom it seemed he arrived just in time. The lesson was just starting. He took a seat close to a window, and decided to stay quiet and out of sight. He started thinking of something he could do, just in case he was supposed to have thought up and technique. He looked at who sat next to him. Some girl.. With a crystal arm? Woah, I guess you see new things every day.

Then the lesson started. Interesting, he'd never had a lesson start by the teacher blasting (not literally) his way through the doors. "You'll be happy to know that today is the first collaboration project. . .and I know that I gave you your partners on Friday but it seems I made a slight ...error." His heart dropped through the basement, and down into into hell. He thought he could feel his heart down in hell for a moment too. A burning sensation in his chest. Was it anger? No idea, he wasn't used to the feeling.

He tiredly followed the rest of the group out to the collab area. He felt like he'd lost his reason to live for a second there, but he chose to avoid the melodrama. "Geno Friar and Veronica Elizabeth McCarter..." He was called out first, and thus got a little sidetracked from his anger and sadness, and quickly looked around to see who else reacted when their names were called. He didn't see anyone, so he quickly shouted "Geno's over here." "Tekis Ruthbale and Calista Vance..." Ouch. That hurt. That hurt deep. She was paired with another guy? Well, he'd better.. Geno flinched slightly, he didn't even know he could feel that sort of resentment towards someone he's never met.

"And we have two groups of three..." He stopped listening, and made an effort to look around for his collab partner, until something very interesting was heard. "And Gwendolyn "Gwen"Friar, Solaira "Sol" Grimaldo, and Luke Bell." He froze. It felt like someone had just locked his entire brain down. What did he just hear? He loudly exclaimed "THE WHAT?"

--------------------------------------------- Gwen & Geno ---------------------------------------------

(Don't worry, you won't see a lot of these.)

Geno spotted a familiar figure in the crowd of people. No doubt about it, that was definitely his younger sister. She was only 10 months younger, so he'd never thought of her as "Lil' Sis'" or anything, but this was proposterous. He charged through the crowd and up to her face. "What the h**l are you doing here?"

Gwen noticed her brother charging up to her. His introductory line wasn't the nicest one, but she figured she could cut him some slack. Seeing his sister here must be a little surprising. "I'm here because of my powers, just like you." "But, you don't have powe-" "I do, watch!" She made steam rise from her hand just like before.

Geno backed off, the steam was hot. Real hot. He tried to say "Since when?" But was once again cut off by her. "It's not like I've been hiding it for years or anything! I discovered it the day after you left home.. I've only known how to do it for a week, and I'm late because father made me go through a bunch of tests to make sure it wasn't cureable or something... After he found out it wasn't, he made some arrangements, and had me sent here immediately. I think I understood how you felt your entire life, for a moment there." He got quiet for a moment, and then simply answered "Alright.", and left her to go look for his partner.

Gwen was insulted by the answer, and his sudden attempt at leaving. "Wait, what do you mean 'Alright'?!" He turned sideways, and looked back at her. "It's not like I don't believe you or anything, but after that.. Do we really have anything new to say to eachother? Nah, not really. I think you'll do fine in Hawthorne on your own anyway, you tend to... And, eh, don't let dad get to you. He's a real dick." And then he disappeared into the crowd. Gwen frowned. What a jerk. Typical Geno.

Cylvaara's worry steadily grew as Professor Xavier explained what would be happening. With such little control over her powers, she was quite skeptical of her abilities to kill anything. Besides, she didn't want to kill anything, anyway! She resigned to thinking this probably wasn't the best time to begin questioning herself, or whether or not she could complete the task at hand. She was here to learn how to master her abilities. Frightening, though the thought was, it was necessary.

"Cylvaara Lannis and Lyra Connerson"

Lyra Connerson...? Isn't that the student body president? She hadn't been at the school long, and hadn't met the girl, but she'd heard the name plenty of times in casual conversation throughout the school. As her partner's name was called, she looked around, finally finding a girl approaching her. A girl, she presumed, named Lyra.

"Uh. . .what is. . .I mean, it's really pretty and all. . .maybe it's just a fashion statement or something but. . .what is that?"

"O-oh. Hello, Lyra. T-this?" She gestured to her arm. "It's my, uhh... ability?" The word still felt awkward for Cylva. It wasn't much of an ability. More of a nuisance. Though, as far as the school was concerned, it was definitely an ability. "I can manipulate crystal. Well, sort of-- it's part of my body. I mean, kind of part of my body." She stammered on, doing her best to try and explain how exactly her ability worked. It was a bit difficult, given the fact that she wasn't even aware of how it worked. "I'm still working on it, b-but it looks like I can create these crystals." Holding up her arm, she examined the claws at the end of her crystalline hand. "They're incredibly sharp..." with her left hand, she pointed to the gash in her face. Though no longer bleeding, it still appeared quite deep. "Anyway... it's a work in progress, but I'll do my best. How about you, Lyra? What are your powers?"

~Basic Healing and Protection 101~

~Lyra~

Lyra nodded as the girl stuttered, understanding almost perfectly what she was saying. . .well, what she was trying to say, anyway. The President hoped that Cylvaara wouldn't think of her as rude, since Lyra couldn't seem to take her eyes off of the crystal. The way that the light was hitting it make the crystal glimmer brilliantly, sparkles dancing through it's prisms in a beautiful ballet.

"Anyway... it's a work in progress, but I'll do my best. How about you, Lyra? What are your powers?"

"Earth manipulation." Lyra smiled, crossing her arms. "It's a bit of a pain, as sometimes the ground is too soft and wet and I just end up flinging mud everywhere. Most of the time, I miscalculate so. . .heh, you'll have to bear with me. Though I have to me admit, it's pretty useful when there are giant boulders around. Mm, nothing like picking up a big ol' boulder and dropping it on somebody's head!"

She cleared her throat.

"I like that boulder. That is a nice boulder." she said, quoting Donkey from
Shrek. Lyra snickered, thinking that she was just the funniest thing on two legs.

After the girl collected herself, she said, "Alright, so do you prefer fighting melee or range? Like, can you fling crystals at people? I can work with either one, but if you were range that would really be something. . ."
