Realistic or Modern Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride

Harlyn jumped a little at the mention of her guitar. She never played much in front of other people, sometimes in front of Nohea, the stray puppy she's been feeding. Harlyn smiled at the thought of Nohea. Who's going to feed him while she's gone?

"Ah damn it," she sighed under her breath. Shaking her head, she slipped her guitar around to the front.

There were people around her but they were having her own conversations and dilemmas. "Anyways, I'm sorry if I'm a little rusty. Let's strum out a song I'm sure everyone knows..."

Harlyn started to play Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana, there were a couple mess-ups in the beginning, but as she warmed up it came easily to her. She hasn't played this song in a while, it was one of the first songs she's learned.

"Smells like the only Nirvana song most people know, am I right?" She joked, fighting the urge to sing along.

She absolutely adored playing her guitar, but Harlyn never thought herself much of a singer. She'd rather hear other's sing than embarrass herself in that way.

Harlyn continued strumming, occasionally looking up at Carter.

Carter's eyes were wide with excitement, and she wore a smile that a child would on Christmas morning. She might have looked absolutely insane, but she didn't care for once. Carter was far too mesmerized with the way Harlee played the guitar like it was her life and soul. "Why don't you sing along? I'm sure you have an amazing voice. I would but, frankly, I don't even know half of the words." A sheepish grin was then plastered across her face.

Carter also wondered why nobody else seemed to be paying much attention. She wanted to tell people to watch this musical genius, but she knew that she wouldn't be able to handle all the eyes on her.

Alex looked at her phone and quickly text ten angry emojis to Star. She turned around and looked at Matty. Alex became lost in thought and just sat there thinking. She finally got so fed up and got out the car. She stood infront of Matty ignoring Patty "Matty can we please go?". Alex looked at Patty and gave him a nod. She pulled her shorts down a little and looked at them both noticing there cuteness. She looked down to make sure nothing was being exposed.

[i'm sorry if this post isn't exactly going anywhere -- you guys are insane with posting (which is great!), it's just that everything has gotten chaotic and hectic. I've always been used to having roleplays that had about 5-10 posts a day. I just feel a bit overwhelmed at the moment, since it's a lot to go through 2-3 pages when I need to post again. I'm sorry if everything will become chopping, some people may become forgotten, and while you're all incredible writers, I might not have enough time to read each and every one of your posts. I hope you all understand - and, the action should be starting soon!]

Matty barely had time to respond to everything going on - he had completely given up on trying to keep quiet around his sleeping parents, their window open a quite a few yards from them. They needed to leave, and now.

His hands were back on his face, rubbing his eyes with the heels of his sweaty hands.

"Okay!" he announced, raising his voice for everyone to pay attention. Sorry, conversations going on -

"Eden has her car," he motioned with a hand at the girl's fancy Jeep, "and there's mine. Everyone, find their sposts, and hop the fuck in." He casted a beaming smile, turning into a smirk. "We need to get this shit un-der-way."

He shot a look at all of his gathered friends. He meant it when he would leave people behind - they couldn't wait around in his driveway for any longer.

He clambered into the front seat of his own car, starting it up.

[side note: You all don't have to really describe your character getting into any cars. Just to get everyone situated, youknow? I will do a "timeskip" soon, jumping in the roleplay straight to beach house, to avoid dragging out anything that doesn't really need to be.]

"Fiannnally!" Alex yelled with a long sigh. She hopped in the seat behind Matty turned on her music and layed her head back listening to sleeping with sirens. She tooks a glance Matty through the review mirror and smiled. She hopped through all this chaos she could get a chance to talk to him and maybe confess to him.

Star groaned at the mention of Eden's jeep and shifted in her seat in behind Matt in the back "I'm sure as hell not moving.." she muttered softly,mainly to herself. Looking at her phone she shrugged, situating herself she laid her head back in the seat and was ready to go.

(Ahh, well maybe we could slow down a bit on posts.)

With Matty's little announcement, Carter immediately gathered her belongings and muttered a small "Sorry, we can talk again later." in Harlee's direction, before dashing to Matty's car. There was no way in hell that she would end up in some total strangers vehicle.

Harlyn finished her song and smiled as Carter mentioned singing along. "Oh, I don't know. Maybe I'll show you some other time."

She spots Matty shouting at the people surrounding him. I guess this means that we're going to have to dash for the spots we want. Harlyn was rarely a runner.

"Sorry, we can talk later," her new friend Carter said as she dashed away in Matty's direction. Taking one wide glance at the familiar scenery, she smiled and sprinted with Carter. Harlyn didn't mind which car she ended up in, she went into a slot wherever she can.

Lani smiled at Matty in a way that said, we're gonna have a lot of fun. She was sitting in the front passenger side so she turned the radio on and tuned it to the Alternative station. "Hey Mathew, I didn't know you were gonna invite Patty. With this mixture of people we're gonna have an.... interesting time." Lani could relax when talking to Matty, she certainly talked a lot more with him then most people. "Hey Matty you got a cigarette.... maybe we could stop somewhere on the way 'cause I'm out."

Patty looked a bit annoyed as none of his questions were awnserd... But he just ignored it as he went and sat beside Eden in her Jeep. She had an interesting aura about her and it amused him in so many ways. He just looked at her and smiled with a simple hey.

He was completely blown off and she started her engine. It was loud and was extremely strong. Patty thought to himself, what if a race started... That would be a fun thing...

(Hey! Sorry! Holy shit, been busy lately. >.<) Nicole looked to Matty's car and noticed it was kind of full and looked at Eden's car.... Well, she really isn't that bad. She shrugged and headed towards Eden's car. Nikki climbed in the back seat and leaned forward a little. "Hey, is it cool if I ride with you guys? Matty's car is a tad too crowded for me." She asks, trying to be sweet about asking.

[i'm so sorry, @whitefoxkiller, for not being able to find the time to respond! The moment this roleplay exploded, all the other roleplays I had queued up started, too.]

Matthew jammed his keys into the ignition of the old Jeep, releif washing over him as the monster roared to life. Or - whatever life it had left in it.

He had turned to glance at his side - and locked eyes with Lani, his face reflecting the smile she was giving him.

"Ye-ah," he laughed, light and airy and accented, "It seemed like a lot of a smoother idea in my head. Eden virtually bribed me to drag her 'long, the moment she caught ear of the trip. And Patty - I've known him virtually my whole life, so I couldn't pass him up. I took a chance."

He began pulling out of the driveway and out onto the sun-kissed streets, after making sure that everyone was situated, of course. He plunged a hand into his tight jeans, pulling out his use-worn packet of cigarettes, offering it to Lani. His mind and lungs begged from him to take a nail coffin for himself, but having something in his mouth while blasting down the highway seemed like a bad idea.

Either way, trying to keep his eyes on the road while glancing at Lani, he made a motion for her to cover the smoke with her hands, to light it.

"I realize that this whole thing is going to be one fuck of a ride - but, it's going to be fun. That's kinda what I was hoping for from it, in the long run. What'dyou think?"

Carter silently gets herself situated in the Matty's car, and quickly pulls a notebook out of her bag. If she's going to survive this ride, she'll have to keep herself as far away from others as she possibly can- even if it was just mentally.

She had absolutely no idea why she even agreed to join in on this journey. It might as well be that her only friend would have been MIA to her if she didn't, or maybe because she wanted more- probably both.

Carter quickly turns her gaze to Matty before awkwardly saying, "Hey uh, Matty, I'm not sure if you saw me or anything but I'm uh... here, I guess I should say." She then returned her attention to the journal on her lap, hoping nobody else payed any attention to her. She didn't want to rub off as awkward or as a freak to others, but she wasn't used to them.

Carter usually came off as cold and distant, but that's when she's with an individual. With more than one person surrounding her, she was just just a total klutz with her words.

[sorry for the short post-!]

Matty turned around in his seat - one of the worst crimes a driver could commit while driving as fast and wildly as Matthew did. He clung into the back of Lani's seat, to turn as much of his chest as he could to face Carter. A huge smile broke out across his face.

"Don't worry - I did see ya! Now." His expression was replaced with a serious manner. "Cheer up, Cranky Carter. I swear - this trip is going to be amazing." His smile broke out again, and he added quickly with a whisper, "Please don't kill me in my sleep for that joke."

He spun back around -- put your hands back on the wheel!

Carter scoffed at her friends words and rolled her eyes. "Cranky Carter? That's a new one." She realized after she said that, that she hadn't stuttered or made a fool out of herself. She decided to use this to her advantage. "Don't worry, I won't kill you in your sleep. I'm sure your terrible driving can do the deed before we even reach the beach house."

Carter knew that her words might have sounded harsh, but she knew that Matty wouldn't take any harm to it.

Turning to Lani, she puts on a cool and collected face before asking, "So, how long have you known good ol' Matty for? It was from one of his many hook-ups, wasn't it?" Carter didn't enjoy being cold to others, but she couldn't help it. If she doesn't really know you, she's automatically not going to like you- it's just the way she was.

Lani gratefully took Matty's smoke and fished a lighter out the glovebox to light it. She put it in her mouth and used her hand to brace it against the wind. As she was lighting it she glanced to the side at Matty, nodding at him. She took a long drag and said, "I think it's gonna be amazing, Matty, glad you set it up." Lani looked behind her at Carter when she spoke to Mathew. She didn't really know Carter. Again, another person she knew of but not personally knew herself. She laughed at her comment about Matty's driving, and then when she asked Lani how she met Matty, Lani laughed even harder. "Carter- that's you're name right?" She started, even though she knew her name, " I've known Matty since he moved here." She took another drag and furrowed her brow at her. "You not like me or something?" She asked simply. She racked her brain for anything she might have said to this girl to make her angry. Maybe she liked Matty and found Lani threatening...

((It's totally cool @Crookie, I understand ^-^))

Carter sent a harsh glare at Lani as she scoffed yet again, all while trying not to take the toxic smell in through her nostrils. She didn't mind when people smoked, but she did mind when it all blew at her face while she was in the backseat of a moving vehicle. She didn't say anything about it though, much like a few other things she had on her mind.

"It's not like that, I just don't know you. But, I bet you have more than friendlier eyes towards him." She mumbled the last sentence, giving her divided attention to her writing once again. "Tell her Matty, I'm just a cold-hearted bitch. She shouldn't even try." Carter then gave a little shrug. Even Matty didn't know about Carter's family, so she has no idea why he stuck around when all she would do was act like an ass to him. Her past kind of just made her like that.

Matty perked up from the front seat, his ears blocking out the radio's jams, and tuning into the angry conversation floating behind him. His eyebrows furrowed, listening to Carter's grumbling points, making confused and almost taken-aback expressions at the road ahead of him.

"Woah there," he said over the wind and radio, "I'm perfectly capable of having real-life friendships with people who aren't one night stands or are from the Internet. You making me sound like more of the slut than I already am."

A fox smirk curled across his lips, as he tilted his head playfully to the side, looking at her through the driver's mirror.

"But in all honesty - Carter, you're cute as a button, but you have one hell of a stick up your ass." He glanced at Lani, raising an eyebrow. "You get used to it."

Lani smiled at Matty, she liked him standing up for himself. She wondered what would have happened if she was just a one night stand. They probably wouldn't be friends. Lani never became friends with any guys or gals she had those short flings with, not that the sample size was huge, but still. Except Patty, but that didn't turn out well. Honestly, she only thought of Matty as a hellavuh good friend, nothing more or less. She took another drag and exhaled upwards, watching the smoke almost immediately dissipate in the wind. Lani looked behind her at all the people who were coming and a thought crossed her mind, "Wait Matty... what are we even planning to do at your grandma's house? Because when I first heard this idea I immediately I was like, 'wow, I didn't know Matty was into that orgy stuff,' but I'm still not clear on what we'll be doing."

Star couldn't help herself from busting out laughing at Lani's orgy comment "No.. No. Lani, we're all going to hangout and do whatever as friends." Smiling at her she put her chin on Matthews seat and stares at him for a long moment "Don't you dare have sex with anyone while we're here though. I don't want to hear it nor walk in on it.. We're not here to do that.. Nunu." Star shuddered at the thought before glancing back at Lani "Don't worry.. do you like to surf?"

Lani smiled at star. Her question brought back memories of her mom trying to teach her how to surf. When Lani thinks surfing she thinks about disgusting salt water and pain. "No, I don't really like the ocean." Lani said quietly. This girl probably would think she's crazy or just extremely unfortunate. Lani loved Hawaii, the mountains and jungles and the wild chicken and such, but she was never a fan of the beach.

"Aw come on.. It'll be fun I promise, I'll teach you too.. just give it a try." Star gave her pleading eyes and puffed out her bottom lip as she said she didn't like the ocean. Everyone likes the beach atleast for the sun and sand if it wasn't the ocean itself but one way or the other she was going to get this girl in the ocean no matter what it took.

Crap this girl really wants me to surf with me... Lani was dreading surfing and would avoid it by all means possible. She grimaced took another drag. "I'm more of a skater and I didn't even bring a bathing suit." She pleaded. Although in the back of her mind Lani knew this girl wasn't going to let up, and she was ok with that.

Star smirked and let out a small laugh "On the waves your surf board is your skate board and don't worry. I brought 4 pairs of bathing suits just in case.. I'm glad I did." Star was not going to let up what so ever, if it meant blind folding her she'd do it and she absolutely meant it.

Eden quietly followed behind Matty's car, needless to say it was almost apparent that she had no interest in being here but also in a way had no choice. There was something drawing her too this island get away of Mattys, what it was she had no clue but she really wished it would be apparent soon. She was tired of waiting for a response from the gods to tell her why she was coming here, she just wanted awnsers and she wanted them now. Coming back from the thoughts in here head she heard a request from the person of the male gender sitting next to her. She just quietly nooded her head and resumed driving down the road to one of their destinations.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Patty looked at Eden and asked if he could play his music in her car radio for a bit, just cause this ride was quiet and he needed to get in his mood before they hit the island. She had simply nodded her head and continued driving, Patty quickly slipped in Panic at the Discos fourth album Too weird to Live, Too Rare to Die and slowly turned to look at the girl sitting in the back. "I don't remember ever catching your name." He ran his hand through his hair and bit his lip quickly as he looked at the girl, she was cute she might not be the type of girl he usually went for but heck she had looks and a cute voice. "You into Panic at the Disco?"
