Burr grinned. "I will, Alexander." He paused. "I hope you have fun with your... Affairs." He chose that word because it had a double meaning, which would screw with Alexander's head even more. 


Burr dug into the steak. It was really good.

Alexander's hands balled into fists. What he would give to pound that grin off of Burr's face. Alexander went back into the kitchen, took a few deep breaths, and went back to serving all the other customers.

Peggy blushed even deeper. "Oh... You weren't supposed to read that..." She looked away, embarrassed.

Peggy kissed him gently. She was weak and feverish, and a little bit high on the morphine being fed to her through the IV. "I love you." She whispered against his lips.

Peggy nodded. She was exhausted. She felt herself falling asleep when the morphine drip finished. A few minutes later, her stomach was in searing pain. Her eyes squeezed tightly, her jaw tightened in pain. She didn't know how noticeable the pain was on her face, she was too focused on not screaming in agony. @Safety Hammer

Lafayette sprung awake and looked over at his girlfriend. The pain on her face was only too obvious.


"Oh god.. oh god oh god oh god..." The frenchman said, clearly panicking.

Peggy opened one bloodshot eye to see Lafayette panicking. "Hey..." She said calmly, as an involuntary tears fell down her cheek. "Just... Call a nurse... Morphine..." She could barely keep herself from sobbing from the pain.

Lafayette burst out of the room, and ran through the hospital, searching for a nurse.

When Lafayette left, Peggy broke down into agonized sobs, the pain was unbearable. A nurse saw Lafayette and raised an eyebrow. "How can I help you, sir?" She asked politely. @Safety Hammer

"My girlfriend needs more morphine. Please, you have to help me with this."

Lafayette paced nervously over what was happening. He was terrified.

The nurse came in and replaced the empty morphine bag with a full one and resumed the IV. Peggy slowly began to calm down, but even after the pain was gone she was sobbing from the trauma. It was terrifying. She was convinced that this injury was going to kill her.

Lafayette paced nervously over what was happening. He was terrified.

"Shhhhh... You are going to get through this."

"You can't know that!" Peggy wailed. "How can you know that?" She was starting to break down mentally. This was not something she'd ever thought of happening, and the gravity of her situation was starting to dawn on her.
