"No go on ahead." Thomas said, as he grabbed his cane, and put both feet on the floor. "Don't take too much though." He joked, "I'm not going to be cleaning your mess."

"Please Thomas, you act like I'm an unmannered brute." Burr laughed, grabbing some things to make a ham sandwich. 


When he finished making his sandwich, he put it on a plate and set it on the table. Then he grabbed some crackers. "When's the sit in again...?"

"Unmannered brute!? Good sir, I was not suggesting that at all!" He put one of hands over his chest and pretended to be surprised. "The sit in..? We need to get the flyers and finish this paper.. as soon as those are done.. So hopefully by next week." Thomas said, still not very sure of his answer. "Depends on what happens."

"Okay. I'm gonna text Hamilton. I know I said he's been through a lot but I'd like to know when Hamilton can help." He pulled out his phone, selecting Alex. He hoped Alex had gotten that new phone set up. If not, he wouldn't receive the text. "Hamilton? Hamilton, hello? Did you set up your new phone yet?" He texted, hoping for a response.

Alsxander felt his phone buzz. He grabbed it out of his pocket.


Not now, Burr. He texted back. Extremely, impossibly busy.

"Good luck." Thomas mumbled and sat down, and closed his eyes. "He's probably with Eliza.. That's her name right?" Thomas asked, "Or am I completely insane?"

Thomas sighed, "Hamilton told you off didn't he?" He asked. "I've never seen the faces to the name, so I don't remember the names a well." Thomas added, "What did he say?" Thomas asked.

Eliza. That's all Alexander could think to reply. He had no idea how to put words to the deep, complete joy he felt. Finally he added Eliza is carrying my child.

"Hold on. He hasn't responded yet." Burr lied. He wasn't gonna stop until he got a response from Hamilton. He needed to know what was so important that he couldn't talk. He waited a few moments, and then his phone buzzed. 


He stared down at his screen in horror and amazement. He didn't know how to respond. "Holy shit." He muttered. "Holy shit!" He yelled. "Oh my god! Thomas, look at this!" He tossed Thomas the phone. "I CANT BELIEVE IT!"

Thomas nodded and just waited. Thomas eyes opened when he heard Burr shout. "Burr what is it!?" Thomas asked, as the phone hit him. He grabbed the phone and read the text, "Holy shit.. Holy shit." He said, just staring at the screen. "There's.. This isn't a joke..?" He asked, turning to face Burr.

"It doesn't seem like a joke! Does it?!" Burr said. For some reason he was overly happy, yet he was overly angry at the same time. "I wonder if Alex told Eliza?! Gimme that." Burr took the phone out of Thomas' hands. Does Eliza know about Maria? Did you tell her? Burr texted back.

Alexander looked at his phone. He quickly deleted the message and replied. No, and she will never need to know. Understand? He wouldn't let anyone hurt Eliza now. Not Burr, not Jefferson, not himself. Maria was a secret that needed to be kept under key and lock.

"I just wanted to make sure!" Thomas defended. Thomas put his hands up when Burr told the phone, "Sorry! Sorry!"

That's what I was going to tell you. I don't break promises, Hamilton. You told me not to tell anyone, so I won't. Burr replied. Did Hamilton really think he would break a promise? You know I've never given you bad advice before. So listen to this: You'll have to tell her sometime, or she might find out herself. Just because I'm not going to say anything doesn't mean she won't be able to find out. Burr added, turning to Thomas. "It's okay, Thomas, I freaked out. But now that this info has come up, you can't tell ANYONE about Maria."

"I wasn't planning to Burr! I don't like Hamilton, but I'm not that heartless!" Thomas said, and sighed. "I hope she did get to the police alright.." He pulled out her phone, "Why did I do that..? Why Burr.." Thomas set her phone down, and put his hands on his face. "I know I didn't do what Hamilton did.. but still.."

Hamilton deleted the messages again. Eliza wasn't going to be able to read the messages. We are thinking Rosemary for a girl and Phillip for a boy. What do you think? Alexander changed the topic quickly, not wanting to be lectured.

"You were being kind to someone. That's a good thing, Thomas. You did it out of the kindness of your heart. Besides, what you and Hamilton did are two completely different things. What Hamilton did was stupid, what you did was kind." His phone buzzed again. Good names. Is all he replied, but then he thought about something. Uhm, Hamilton... Does Eliza's dad know? If not, you better run, son! He added, laughing and turning back to Thomas.

"I know but still.. its Maria, the girl that slept with Hamilton. I know I was being kind and all.. Never mind." Thomas trialed off, and just sat there until he heard Burr laughing. "What happened? What's so funny..?"

"Nothing. It's just, I don't think Eliza's dad knows. When and if he finds out, Hamiltons dead." Burr laughed again. "I'm gonna wait and see what Alex replies..." Burr muttered.

Alexander kissed her back with a passion. "Y-yeah. You... You should." He whispered, kissing her cheek. 

She kissed him gently and got out of bed, opening a drawer and going into her bathroom that was connected to her room. After a few minutes she walked out of the bathroom and smiled at Alexander. "Alex...we're having a baby."

Alexander's eyes watered. His hands went to his mouth, covering his smile as tears rolled down his cheeks. "Oh god, Eliza, we are going to have a family!" He said, pure joy shining through his voice. He didn't reply to his phone. He was too busy with the love of his life.
