Fandom Hamilton AU - Additional IC
"If you have pages planned then why do you need these books?" Washington asked, indicating the pile of books he laid out on his desk
"I need more! Sir, I need at least a good fifty pages if this is going to make any impact on the Principal." Alexander said a little bit louder than he should have and picked up the books. "Thanks for your help."

"Alexander!..."Washington protested as Alex left the room taking the books with him. The books weren't even for him! They were for the class tomorrow, or well today. Alex will be back once he realizes his mistake, then Washington can give him a real talking to.

Alexander went up to his room and sighed, looking down at the books. Alexander's eyebrow raised, having read the title. "History's Compromises?" He asked, opening the book mark in it. As he read through the passage, his face grew red with anger. Two men in America's history, who were best friends in their early years, got in a duel and one died. Alexander couldn't help but see him and Burr in this story. He stomped back down stairs, his eye narrowed, and slammed the books on Washington's desk. "My issues with Burr are NONE of your concern!" Alexander shouted. @Dont hate me

Washington looked up as Alex stormed into his study. "Keep your voice DOWN son!" Washington commanded, as his chihuahuas came yipping into his study. "Goddammit Alexander.. SIT." The dogs sat at his feet, quieting immediately. Washington looked to Alexander trying to act big in front of his desk. "Thank you for being mindful of the other people who live in this house trying to get some sleep." Washington said sarcastically. He walked around his desk and took the book from Alexander's hands. "What happens in my class, hell under my roof is my business. You may think you're special and this has never happened before to other people, but I have news for you: this has happened throughout history, and you can either learn from it or make the same mistakes over and over again. You and Burr seem like intelligent kids, and my job as a foster parent and a teacher is to direct you towards the correct path. This is why you're working alone at 3am: you push away those who wish to help you! Unlike Burr and Jefferson, I'm not going to be bullied out of your life. Bring me the work you've done so far. NOW!"
James jumped slightly at the voice. He got really into writing sometimes, it was rather embarrassing. "Hmm? Oh, right. Right."
"I'm going to King tomorrow Burr., he won't stop me." Thomas smiled. "James, let's take a break, I swear your going to sweat a storm, besides its late. You two are welcome to stay."

Alexander practically shook with fury. He felt hot tears rolling down his cheeks as he went back up to his room. He collected his papers, then started to pack his backpack. He wasn't going to impose on Washington anymore if Washington was becoming fed up. Alexander went back downstairs, his belongings secured in his bag, and his papers in his hands. "Here you go, Sir." Alexander whispered, wiping the tears off his face.

"Thomas, I know you're used to being the guy in charge, but I'm gonna disagree on that. I told Alex he wouldn't be able to even write fifty pages for the constitution. Knowing him, he's going to do it. I can stay up. I may not be as good a write as James here, but I really want to win this thing." He replied, entirely confident in his abilities as a writer.

Washington accepted the papers and notes Alexander handed him and filed them in the briefcase he takes to school with him. "You can get these back tomorrow during class. Go get some sleep." He turned out the lights in his office and closed the door. "I know I am" He went upstairs, but he didn't hear Alexander walking up behind him. He knew how proud Alexander could be, so it was no surprise he was bailing. Nevertheless, Washington prayed he would stay safe at least until class tomorrow. Then washington went to sleep.

"Then we stay up all night, simple as that. You still have that page Burr?" Thomas sat next to James taking some of the pages he wrote. "It must be nice that he has Washington on his side.."

Hamilton let Washington leave. He stood silent for a minute. Then he slowly turned around and walked out the front door. He wasn't about to play someone else's game. That's not how Hamilton worked. He left the house and walked for miles on end, not knowing where to go or who to tell. He eventually found the park and sat on a park bench. He wrote in his notebook, he just kept writing and writing about music and how music is the only stable thing in his life. How music got him through his depression. How music had become the most important aspect of his life. He wrote about the way it affected his IQ, his ability to solve problems, and his social life. He wrote until his pen ran out of ink. Then he got out another pen and kept going. It was sloppy, unedited, raw material that was more of a confession than it was an informative essay.

"Washington is indecisive from crisis to crisis." Burr replied simply. He handed Thomas the page he was talking about. "Now, knowing Alex he will go to exactly fifty pages, we need at least sixty." He frowned. He didn't know if they all had the mental capacity to stay up that long. "We just need to keep googling facts, making sure the source is good and using the fact." He said enthusiastically. "Here's one: Sleep can help with memory loss."

(That low key general lee reference though xD )

"What is that shit?" Thomas said laughing, "Let's show these band kids who there up against! Southern motherfucking Orchestra kids!"

"Fuck yea!" He replied. He turned on his phone and started googling things as fast as possible. "We're gonna beat Hamilton!" He told James to write a few more facts down. "This is brilliant."

(I didn't know what else to do :P )

(29 xD get it, the federalist papers? Madison wrote 29?)

Alexander was late for school. He'd never been late in his life. He had dark circles under his eyes, his hair was a mess, he looked exhausted. He was exhausted. He didn't get a wink of sleep that night. His hands were covered in ink stains from the amount of writing he did the night before. He could barely remember half of the things he wrote. Alexander sat down in his seat in the bacnd room, barely able to stay awake.
