Fantasy Guardayen

A smile appeared on her face, "tell me the informations then I will, maybe let you stay alive." She wasn't going to say that she's going to let him go. Keeping him alive and take him to the town, lock him up and ask the leader to deal with him seems like a better idea.

I really need to get this over with! She thought, I need to go to town and try to help out with the war thing, maybe gather some allies or else the humans might get them all.

Barlen followed Grum into the cave and was poking things with his sword as they progressed. He started asking questions and mumbling to himself about what they were going to do. Barlen then ran around not bothering to stray too far away from the orc. He watched Grums reactions and kept mumbling to himself.

((I have to go, have to go to work :P be back in a few hours :) ))

"I'm sorry miss but that isn't for you to here, take me to the leader and I will tell him and him alone." Knives had a plan, he would tell their leaders all he knew, which wasn't much, but it would help to end this war. He knew the dwarves would backstab the elves from behind, and completely demolish the army with their guns and war machines. He wanted to help, he didn't mean harm. Though, if forced to, he would join original side and fight.

Angel sighed, "fine, I'll take you to our leader." She look at him dead in the eyes, "but if you lied, or try something funny, then I'll be the one to finish you off." Angel wasn't this mean to people but since her kind is at war with the humans, she simply can't go easy on them. She have to keep up the act and hide her kind and caring self away, just maybe until the war finish.

"Good, little one." Buras said, never really getting out of the habit of calling Coriana little one. "Do not be surprised that your breath is frost instead of my lightning. Dragons often have different breaths, not sure why" Buras said to Coriana. Once she was able to use her breath, Buras began to teach her more how to hunt. Here he was met with a dilemma, he was nearly 10x her size. So, he took his cue from the birds of prey and how they hunted. "I am big, and must wait for my prey to come to me. You, though, are small and fast. You can dive out of the sky to land upon your prey." Buras said as he walked, not saying where they were going. Suddenly stopping, Buras turns to Coriana, "If a dragon is to survive, it must hunt. I have told you how to hunt using your size and your speed. Prove to me you have listened, and get your breakfast."

Incendia nodded to the great beast she had mounted. "I am, when you are ready." She didn't know what to expect, she had heard tales of dragons in flight but never had she seen one, let alone be a part of it. She made sure to grab on tightly, and she was positive that she would not let her grip loosen. Falling off of Sarezar in flight was something she would have rather gone without experiencing.

"I will be big, too. Someday" she assured him with a cocky tip of her head. Coriana was growing well, and stood tall as if to emphasize her words as she unfolded her wings and stretched them wide. If she stretched her neck out, she could almost reach his wingjoint. It pleased her greatly that she was getting bigger and with a beat of her wings she flew up into the air. He was right about her being fast, it didn't take long for her form to grow smaller and smaller in the sky. She peered down at him and thought how small he looked now, but soon turned her attention to the task Buras had given her.

She flew above the forest looking for suitable prey, her pale blue eyes scanning the trees, determined to challenge herself and impress her guardian. He had taught her by watching the local predatory birds, and how they manuevered through the air. She'd been fascinated by their aerial grace, and how they could even take their prey right out of the air, snatching it up with their talons, or diving into the water to snare unsuspecting fish.

Gliding, letting the air hold her as she slowly banked on the wind, she finally spotted a young deer grazing in small clearing. She was careful to bank just beyond the creature's eyesight as her gaze tracked the beasts' movements. Suddenly she dives at the deer, dropping from the sky like she'd seen the majestic birds do. Her technique is definitely clumsy as she impacts with the deer, maybe diving with too much speed as both roll head over heels in the dirt. However, she pounces upon the deer and before it's hooves can do her any damage, she snaps her jaw around it's neck and jerks her head sharply to break it.

Lucky she didn't harm herself, she lifted her head and gave a roar for her first ever kill, lifting her tail and thumping it sharply against the ground. Rather pleased with herself, she scooped the carcass up and flew back to where she'd left Buras and landed with it.

"It is good that you have listened to what I taught you, otherwise you might have gone hungry." Buras told Coriana. He was surprised that she was able to kill a deer and carry it back, albeit a fawn. But that in itself was good, meant she was stronger than her size gave away. "Now, eat up, I have one last lesson to teach you once you are done." Once she ate, Buras told her his last lesson that he felt like he could teach her. "Respect all the races. You may hate them all, but respect their strength. Many dragons have fallen due to a dwarven cannon ball or to the sheer number of humans. Goblins are usually nice but are a pest, and orcs aren't the brightest candle to burn. But still they must be respected. And thanks to this Da** war, elves may not look kindly on dragons. I may be proven wrong with any of these races, but those are my personal experiences with them."

After the meal, she curled up near Buras and cleaned her claws delicately, she was a little vain in regards to her appearance and noted that she would need to find a clean pool of water soon. When he started to speak she stopped and lifted her head to listen, and became confused. Hate? Why should I hate anyone? she wondered, remaining silent as he continued. She hadn't experienced any of those things but they did sound dangerous and scary. She nodded as he emphasized the need to respect the different races but was confused by the rest, "War? What is that? And why should elves dislike us?" she asked in a naive way, she only understood that elves seemed interesting, and why should they not like her if she was nice?

"Ah, that is right, you are still young, a war is when two or more large groups fight and kill each other until one gives up. But this war is different, it is a war between whole races races. Humans and Dwarves against Elves. It is a disgusting business. And I am ashamed to say I helped to start it. You see, the day I found you, Human slavers tried to catch me, to train me as their beast of burden. Now you know how powerful I can be, so I broke free and killed most of the slavers. One got away, however, and told his king that the elves attacked them with trained dragons. The worst part is the human king bought into it all. Now the humans and dwarves will kill any dragon they see, thinking it is one trained by the elves, and the elves may kill dragons for their claw in starting this war." Buras said, frustrated by the ignorance of all the sides involved.

Sarezar tested his wings a couple times to be sure he was ready to take flight. "Here we go." With those words, he goes into the air with powerful beats of his wings, making sure to get a good height before moving anywhere, then heading towards a volcano he knows very well. "First time in the air, I presume?"

Grum worked his way farther and farther down the cave until he caught the pungent smell of alchemists ingredients. Shamans were trained to spot these easily to prevent their use on the glorious field of battle, and shamans were also trained to use them if necessary. He could hear Hardskin and another Human talking , no Big Tooth, the Orc wondered. He was caught up in thinking when he wandered into the mouth of the small opening. He saw the entire chamber for what is was worth, chemical supplies, animals natural and unnatural. The chief thing that caught his eye was the Hardskin sorting his way through Big Tooth scales while the other worked on some foul alchemy.

The very idea of any creature trying to enslave or harm Buras made her hackles rise. She growled at the thought. As he continued on to the day she'd hatched, she realized the danger he'd been in and yet he'd still taken her on without hesitation. She felt humbled by the realization. "The slaver lied. Why would he do this?" she wondered out loud. If war was so bad, and started so easily with a lie then it seemed that the slaver would know this. "Do you think he meant to start a war, or was he afraid that he did not capture you?"

"I do not know why he did it. It is often hard to figure out the why of the things that can think." Buras told her. "But if he wanted to start a war, he got one. And if he was afraid that he didn't capture me he would have gone into hiding. All I do know, is that there is a war. If I could go back and change that, I would. But the humans and elves never got along, war was bound to happen eventually." Buras told Coriana, practically rambling at this point. "It would be nice, however, to get all the dragons together, or a lot of them. We could do something about this war, pick a side and fight for them or sit both of them down and give them both a stern talking to. But that is not in my power, I may be older then most dragons but there are those out there that are older than me. It would be those dragons that might be able to convince the others to gather."

A rare animal, an albino bear, his pet. It would no doubt bring him honor, and if he didn't like it, he could just as easily skin it. He eyed the bear, "I'll take it, and a bag for these scales. It's not everyday that you find one of these as a pet." He turns back to the dragon, moving his sword back into the sling. Obviously this dragon wasn't confident in it's abilities, so it wouldn't try anything, Kevin thought.

She settled herself more comfortably on the ground and laid her head on her forearms while he spoke. Still young, Coriana felt sleepy from the heat of the day and a full belly, and the deep rumble of his voice always had a tendency to lull her into sleep. She tried to blink the drowsy feeling away and gave a little yawn. "I should think the races should learn to respect each other. Maybe they wouldn't want to fight so much then."

Snorting, Buras says "Oh they respect each other, respect what the other has. That is why I say the dragons should get together and sit the leaders down and give them a tongue lashing they won't soon forget. Treat them like the hatchlings that they are acting like." Buras rumbled. 'Hope the goblins stay out of this. They may be like roaches, but they are kind hearted and do not deserve to suffer.'

"First time for sure." The feeling of flight was one she'd never experienced before. She held on tightly, but couldn't help leaning over one way or another to get a glimpse at the ground beneath the two. She could see the large trail of fallen trees that led up to the spot they just left, and she chuckled to herself. Once again she was reminded why she loved the dragons so much. They had the level of power that Incendia had always thirsted for. Even to that day, she was constantly trying to grow more and more powerful, and seeing Sarezar level trees with no effort only made her desire that power more.

She imagined how much she'd be able to share with the Inferno Magi following when she returned. She contemplated sending a letter back, to let them know she was staying for longer than intended, but in elven territory getting that letter out would be difficult.
They shouldn't worry. I can take care of myself. She let her thoughts return to the flight, the wind whipping her hair back against her cloak, the feeling of moving so quickly and so smoothly. This was surely a luxury fit for a dragon.

"So why didn't you run?" Sarezar turns his head to look back at her, curious as to her reasoning behind the fact he could have killed her on the spot. "That, or even raise a weapon to fight?" He shakes his head, not understanding why humans really do anything, other than for their own personal gain.

Cori lifts her head and looks up at him, "Goblins? They sound interesting. Can we meet some Goblins someday?" she wondered. She gets up and stretches, shaking her head to dispel the sleepiness she felt. "Will you go to see the elder dragons? Maybe they will agree with you and then you won't be so worried." She wondered what they were like, and if they were even bigger than Buras was. Naively she imagined they would be, if Buras would defer to them.

"Maybe, maybe." Buras said in response to both her questions. "You see, I don't know where all of them are. They are about as old as dirt and like their peace and quiet. So, they scattered themselves. I know one is hiding somewhere in the great planes between the human and elven kingdom. But the rest, I do not know. Perhaps she will when we find her. So, Coriana, do you wish to join an old dragon on a search for even older dragons?" The last part was said as he slowly stood up.

She smirked. "I raised no weapon to fight because I do not fight with a weapon." It was a simple answer, but it was entirely true. She hardly even knew how to use the small dagger that she carried as backup, and even if she did it would have done nothing against the thick scaled hide of a dragon. "As to why I didn't run," She started, but paused, having to think about that herself. Why didn't I run? I knew I couldn't fight...

"I guess because I didn't feel I needed to. I didn't put much thought into it, as to ponder a decision for too long is a crutch. I do not strangle my ideas with foresight, instead I act as they come. If one does not act immediately, too much can go wrong." Incendia has always felt that way, all of the Inferno Magi have. They act on impulse of emotions, not on pre-planned motions or typical courses of actions. Those are all far too predictable.

Immediately her eyes lit up and she gave a youthful bounce. "Of course I will go with you Buras!" She trilled softly, her tone pretty and pure, and she spread her wings in antcipation. It sounded like an adventure to her. Find the elder dragons and stop a war! Someday she would be a big dragon like Buras, and then she could really make a difference. If a dragon could grin, she would be doing so as she looked up at him, her silvery blue scales still dusty from her hunt. She angled her head and looked at herself then, and feminine vanity reared it's ugly head. "Do you think I could have a bath first, please? You didn't hunt, maybe you're hungry?" she offered hopefully.

Buras burst into laughter at Coriana wanting a bath. So eager to go on this trip, but wanting to wash first. "My stomach is a lot bigger than yours, so I can go a bit longer than you before I have to eat. Now, let us go. If we find a pond or something along the way, you may clean yourself." Buras said before jumping into the air, flapping his powerful wings to bring him above the trees. It must have been a rather odd sight, like watching a sparrow fly around an eagle.

Sarezar looks at her with confusion. "You should've known in seconds that I probably would have killed you, you fool." He chuckles, hoping just to scare her a bit, he also dips downward quickly, then regaining balance, he looks back at her, with a slight grin plastered on his face.
