Fantasy Guardayen

She pouted for half a breath before she jumped into the air, stretching her wings as she caught the updraft and sailed through the air to meet him. The trees flew by beneath them and she watched as the scenery gradually began to change as the terrain did. With her energy and his great wingspan, they would cover many miles easily and she was very eager to see everything the world had to offer. On one side of them she saw a mountain range, so far in the distance it held a blue tint. She thought they were beautiful, with their white colored tops with fluffy clouds floating by.

It has been a long time since Buras had left the forest, his memories where a bit hazy of the things outside. But he did remember some things, laid out like a map in his mind. The vast forests of the elves, then the Great Plains, separating the elves from the humans. Beyond the Plains, the human settlements, some now feeling their way deeper into the plains no doubt. To the West, the Dwarven mountains. And somewhere in the middle was the land full of volcanos where the Igneous Magi society lived. Anything beyond the mountains where unknown to him, as well as the farthest eastern edges of the Plains. Perhaps it was in that direction that the orcs called home, or perhaps the goblins. Oh well, it did not matter now. What did matter, though, was to find that elder, where ever she was.

Elona saw the orc enter, immediately preparing her bowl of poison, "Looks like we have company." She exclaimed, "An orc." Readying her bowl of pre-made poison and about to dump it on the thing. But then she stopped, "Do you mean us harm?" An odd question, since orcs ate dragons, but she wanted to make sure.

Incendia gasped as their altitude dropped suddenly. It was involuntary, if she had the time she would have tried to catch it, but it came out anyway. Her grip tightened for that moment until she saw Sarezar's grin back. "That was rude." She gives him a disapproving look for a second, but that gives way to the same silly grin that the dragon she was riding had. She was showing her less serious side to this dragon, and she knew she had let a good amount of her guard down already. She didn't know why, but this dragon still reminded her of herself, and that was most likely the reason for her opening up more than she normally would.

A question crosses her mind, though, as she knew it was well past midday and that the sun would soon set. "Sarezar, how far is this summit?" She would need shelter for the night, she didn't want to be wandering alone in the middle of elven territory.

Sarezar laughs. "Gotta stay on your toes, Incendia, and we're nearly there." He points out to a volcano in the distance, as he picks up speed to get there quicker, as he wonders why he would even have thought of helping her, a human, of all things. He shrugs it off, pushing it to the back of his mind as he finds a spot on the volcano to safely land. "We're here, human, why did you need to be here?"

Incendia dismounted the dragon carefully, roughly landing on the dark rock of the mountain, about halfway to the top. She took the small pouch out from beneath her cloak and emptied the contents into her palm. Half a dozen gemstones rested in her hand. Most were a very dark reddish color, but one was much lighter than the rest. It seemed to give off a faint red-orange hue. She took that one and affixed it to a small slot on her right leather gauntlet, where it seemed to fit perfectly. For a moment it glowed brightly, then returned to radiating dim light.

"Magma is Inferno's gift to the realm." She started to walk around as she spoke. There has to be a deposit or a leak somewhere... When she seemed to find something she liked, her step quickened. "There is a direct link to his powers and the molten rock." Even as she walked, she continued to speak, but did not bother to check if Sarezar was following her or not. "Because of this, a Magus of Inferno can extract energy from the magma of the land. This is my goal."

As she neared the small pool of lava she had spotted earlier, her pace slowed and her face lit up. A smooth smile overtook her expression. The intense heat that radiated from the pool would have certainly deterred most humans from approaching, but the wave of sudden heat was welcoming to the fire mage. She took in the heat graciously as she continued to approach the glowing orange pool of molten residue.

Sarezar was following her quite closely, wanting to observe what she was doing. He watched over her shoulder, for once, genuinely curious of what a human was doing, and surprisingly wanting to make sure she didn't hurt herself. "So you use the power of flames... Interesting."

Coriana flew further from him as her eyes scanned the ground way below. She never ventured far from him, always within his sight as she gazed all around. The plains seemed to go on forever, a few clusters of trees dotting it's vastness. Her wings beat at the air and she glided beneath Buras to look at the mountains again, an aura of happiness emanating from her as she really got to stretch her wings.

Buras kept a stern eye on her, making sure she didn't fly off, and another for a spot to shelter for the night. Even dragons can only go for so far before having to rest. As Coriana flew below him and looked at the mountains, Buras could feel the aura of happiness coming from her. "I have no doubt our adventure will bring us to those mountains." He shouted above the noise of the wind. "And when we find a place to settle for the night, I might tell you of a tale of when I was actually at those mountains."

"Oh, please?" she asked, soaring alongside him. Her aerial antics quieted and she flew beside him, "They're very beautiful. Someday I will go there." She said in a determined tone of voice and a smug look in her eyes. A gust wind caught her by surprise and caused her to fumble a little in the air and she looked quickly to see if he'd seen. She looked away and pretended it'd been intentional. If a dragon could blush, she would be blushing deeply right now.

Adwen walk into the forest, annoyed to hear that humans were at war with the elves. She never thought that this day would come, but she's going to do what she always does when there's a fight, ignore it. Adwen was hoping that the forest won't be a battlefield, or else she won't have a place to run to anymore. She was never scare of what's inside the forest, she was curious to discover what other race, creatures, are hidden in the forest, but she never really have the chance to go deep enough into the forest. She saw a huge tree and walk over, taking a seat just underneath it.

Buras chuckled when he saw Coriana get caught in some turbulence. Once he got himself back under control, he says "Of course you will. An Elder is no doubt there, and I doubt those dwarves would have even noticed him." The sun was nearing the horizon when Buras decided to look more closely for a spot to land. Spotting a small copse of trees, they were more like bushes compared to the trees in the forest, and decided that would make a perfect place to settle down for the night in. Leading the way, Buras lands with a bit of a galloping gate, landing and taking off was never the most graceful part of what dragons did. Once he slowed down to a walk, he moved closer to the copse, and dug a hole deep enough for him to fit in comfortably. As he dug, he organized his thoughts, brining memories up to retell to the youngling.

Incendia knelt near the pool of external magma, for a moment just enjoying the intense heat. She took out the dark crystals, holding them in the extended palm of her hand. With some concentration, the gemstones began slowly to lift out of her open palm. They gently stirred before fully lifting from her hand. They floated, quite literally by magic, out until they were several feet over the lava. The mage closed her eyes and looked down, obviously deeply concentrating. Over a few minutes, orange and red wisps would seep from the lava and seem to flow into the crystal. Once finished, Incendia pulled the gemstones out of the air and snatched them into her hand. She revealed them to Sarezar, showing that they were now brightly infused just as the first one was.

"In order to use the magic I've been gifted with, I need a source of energy directly from Inferno himself. These mana crystals are the source I use while I'm not in an area like a volcano." She hold out her gauntlet with the 'charged' stone still embedded into it, to show that it, too, was glowing dimly.

Sarezar blinked, watching the entire process, surprised at the magic that had happened. "That's quite a magic show you have there.." He attempts to grab one of the gemstones, wanting to examine it closer. "How did you stumble across this 'gift' of yours originally?"

Buras finally got his thoughts in order, and luckily the hole was dug so he had somewhere to lay down. So, tiredly flopping into the hole he dug, Buras got comfortable and got ready to tell his story. "It was back when I was about, oh, 450 years old, or something close to that. I had the same thought as you did, determined and set on going to the mountains. Well, I was out of my parents care for a couple decades by then and decided, why not. So a flew in their direction. I flew for several moons, the mountains never seeming to get closer. One day, it seemed like they jumped up in front of me. They were massive, I doubt I could have reached the peak of the smallest one. And it would take me several more moons just to fly around them all. But I was there, and so I went in deeper into the dwarven domain. The dwarves never liked the dragons, something about us wanting there gold and gems or something like that, but back then they put up with us. The first few days were hard, the water collected in pools alongside the mountains and the goats were far to nimble for me to catch. I was living off of what I found dead. But I was determined to prove to myself that I could live there, so I continued. One day, a dwarf found me, and he had the oddest idea that his little gun could scare me. He found me in a cave I dug for myself, so I just dug a little deeper back and pulled the entrance down so he couldn't bother me. Now this dwarf was smart and saw what great potential I was for his digging, and apologized for pointing his gun at me. And me with my forgiving nature, forgave him. But he wasn't done there, oh no, he wanted to hire me to dig out tunnels in return for food and a better place to stay. I agreed, deciding that a full belly was better than an empty one. I spent three years with him, digging his caves and eating his mountain goats. Eventually, however, he decided my services where no longer needed, or maybe his goats were about gone, and politely asked me to leave. So I did, and decided to travel some more. But my other travels are for a later date. now, it is time to get some sleep."

(Holy super post batman!)

Incendia allowed him to take it, though she knew he wouldn't see much in it. To most, it was simply a glowing rock.

"The gift of Inferno was first discovered by my father while I was very young. I seemed prone to accidents involving fire, for some reason fires would start all around me, especially in my father's barn." She let out a quick chuckle as she remembered incidents like this. "It wasn't until a bad fire that it was discovered I was the source. The fire raged, burning down the entire house I was in. I wasn't able to escape, yet the fire did not hurt me. My father was amazed at this and took me to see the local prophet. It was determined that I was blessed, or in their eyes cursed, by the element Inferno." Her face grew grim now, as if the tale was about to take a darker turn. "I was cast out immediately, everyone in our small village had witnessed it. My father was the only one to protest, the rest simply looked at me like a demon. Admittedly, I did cause several fires in the town, but it was a very harsh reaction to realizing I had these powers."

"Luckily for me, there was an Inferno follower in my village who promptly took me in. It was then he took me to Valakut, where I have been staying since, practicing and developing my skills. The man who took me in was the Archmage of the summit at the time, and when he passed away I was made his successor." She finished there, tucking the pouch now full of gems back into her cloak for safekeepings. "Thank you for escorting me to this volcano, Sarezar." Her tone was genuinely grateful, something most will never hear from here.

Sarezar has a look of pity on his face, feeling bad for her, something that nobody would ever expect, he offers to let her back on his back. "I'm sorry for your misfortune.. Do you need to go somewhere at all, don't be shy." He gave her a gentle smile, genuinely caring for her, he saw something in her that he hadn't seen in the usual pathetic humans he sees.

The spy was sent in to talk to the elven leader, "Why have you brought this wretch here?! Why the human?" The leader said, "Execute him."

"Wait! I come in peace, I wish to no longer work for those damned men who started this war, I might have valuable information if you'll just listen!" Knives attested and pleaded.

Barlen saw what Grum was after and took a step back. He managed to trip after the step, but decided to stay sitting down as he had no clue what would happen next. He kept darting his eyes between Grum and the Hardskin and sat the most quietly he ever had in his life wondering about the situation.

((Sorry Bongo, didn't see your post))

Incendia, not wanting to be a bother, shook her head. "The pleasure of spending time in the presence of such a great beast as yourself was enough on its own, and then you also took me to this summit without asking for compensation." She looked up at Sarezar, again bowing her head just slightly out of respect. "I'm most likely going to stay on the volcano for the night, it provides me with the heat and energy I need to survive the night in a hostile place. I'm infamously known among elves, and I have nowhere else to stay." It was true, but she had no problem with it. The volcano's energy would allow her to freely practice her spells without having to worry about wasting any of the stored mana in her crystals. Though it wasn't ideal, it was doable. She was trying to look at the few bright sides of the situation, and not at the many down sides.

Tempus watched the two beings interact with each other.

Mangestu who also calls itself as a ninja-for-hire, whatever that was. The being who was now guzzling down the offered food by Mangestu didn't introduce itself properly but he wouldn't prod into their personal history. Feeling no harm, he watched them silently, his tail swishing the leaves behind him.

@SaphireTsuki @Haruhi Suzumiya

Sarezar shook his head, insisting. "If you don't want to go anywhere, then I'll stay with you for the night, I doubt it'd be a good idea you being up here, in elven territory, even if it may be a volcano, its near suicide." He sat down, giving her a stern, and semi-worried look, he obviously won't listen to any sort of reasoning if she may try to get him to go.

At this, Incendia got a bit weary of the dragon's intentions, but she didn't let it show. Instead, she just frowned. "If you insist, but I don't need to be kept watch over. This is entirely by your own will." Once she had made that clear, she let a small smile show for just a moment, still appreciating his offer and insistence. At least I won't be spending the night alone. First time in three moons, and with a dragon no less. She masked her excitement well as she turned to walk back to the small pool of lava, interested in finding more, perhaps a larger source.

"He can give us the information," Angel said calmly, "besides I can kill him easily." Angel stood next to the human and look at her leader, "we can use him, if he, for some reason, lied to us, I will personally take the blame and kill him." She knew that she doesn't like killing that much, but this side of her was the one that most people don't know of. She have to act strong in front of her leader.

((Sorry just got home))

Sarezar grinned, and followed her. "Of course its of my own will, there's nothing that'd force me to do a single thing, and what are you looking for?" He snorted some smoke from his nostrils again, just to feel the heat run through himself again. He flicked his tail from one side to another, being cautious for nearly anything to happen.
