"You're not a monster." Callum said. "You're just a deadly vampire, but I'm an undead reaper who is marrying said deadly vampire. I'm sure of all people, I'm the last person you're going to kill." He smiled and tilted her head up to look at him. "I love you, Emmalia."

"I love you too," she said with a weak smile, then hugged him gently so as not to hurt him. Even when he was undead, sometimes she got this feeling that he was fragile.

Callum smiled as he held onto her. After a while, Callum pulled away and said, "I think we should get some sleep. It's been a rough 24 hours." Cal smiled and kissed her lips gently.

"Yeah... that would be nice." She felt like she was already falling asleep leaning on him anyway. Once they had settled, she nestled up close and muttered, "I'm cold. You're warm."

"So it only seems natural for us to sleep next to one another." Cal smiled softly, wrapping his arms tight around her and holding Emmalia close. "I shall conquer all of the stars in the sky, all of the fires in Trulane, and all of the passion in my soul to ensure you have the warmth you deserve."

"Aw, you're a poet now. That was sweet." She smiled and kissed his cheek, then settled down to get some much needed sleep. Her body had been in a high-metabolism mode ever since she had snapped.

Callum smiled, "I'll be anything and everything you need, Emmalia. Sleep well." He spoke quietly, and kissed her cheek once before closing his eyes and falling asleep rather quickly.

When Emmalia woke in the morning, she stayed absolutely silent and motionless, listening to Callum's heart beat and the sound of his breathing. She had had dreams, and now remembered most of what had transpired the night before, when she had been vamped. Evidently she still had a decent amount of control then, since Callum had been taken to a healer and she had said that she had loved him. But she didn't want to wake Callum, she wanted to lay there forever and pretend they had no problems in this world.

Callum had woken up much later than Emmalia initially did. When he did, however, he couldn't hide the fact that he was awake due to his yawning. He decided it'd be best to get the trip out of the way with now, and rest back in the comfort and safety of their castle. "Are you awake love?" He asked quietly.

Emmalia nodded slightly. "Yeah, I am...." Her voice was quiet. If they moved, if they left this very bed, things might go bad. That monster half within her had resurfaced, and yes, Ander was dead, but at what cost? She had tortured him horribly.

"We should get moving." Cal said, knowing how much it would pain both of them to be on the move. "I'd much rather heal in the safety of our home than an inn with no protection."

That was right, he had to heal. That was the only motivation that could really move her to get up, and she did. "You shouldn't be travelling so soon though, our carriage is blocked in, remember? And booby trapped too." And there was a corpse near it, but who cared about hat?

Callum thought for a moment. "Perhaps Cassian's men can send us a carriage? That might take a week or so, though..." Callum didn't like being defenseless and weak in a village he knew nothing about. Part of him wished he could just transport home in an instant, but he knew they'd either need to wait for a carriage, or steal one.

"I mean, we could ask my parents, but I don't think that would go over well. There's not a carriage maker or horse stable in this village to my recollection... I don't know." They needed to think of something. "Maybe we can un-trap the carriage and get some of the local men to help us move the log?"

"I suppose we could do that. We don't know what Ander did with the carriage though, so we must be extremely careful."

She nodded, then paused to press her head against him. "I'm sorry you had to see that the other night, watch what I did to Ander." More quietly, she said, "I remember most of it now, and you shouldn't have had to see that. I'm sorry."

"Don't worry about it." Callum said. "I understand the situation at hand. You don't have to worry about me." Callum pulled her in for a deep kiss before gathering his gear.

Em smiled, then got up and started getting ready for the day. They would have to hide Ander's body first, then work on making the carriage safe, then get help moving the log. With Callum's state, Emmalia decided to make sure they went slow.

Callum worked at the fastest pace he could when putting on his armor. He knew he was hurt, but he didn't want to feel like a liability. So when he got dressed, he stepped out and asked, "Which way back to the carriage?"

Emmalia patiently guided him, though she kept her pace slow so he couldn't go too far ahead. As they approached, it was almost midday, and Emmalia was feeling the weakness of being caught in the sun, even on the road shaded by trees. When they got close, though, her pace slowed even more as she walked towards Ander's rather mangled corpse, then she quietly said, "Oh, Gods," and ran off to the side of the road to throw up.

Callum stood still and waited for Emmalia to return as he looked at Anders body. Part of him wanted to feel sad, but after knowing what he did to Emmalia, he only deserved what he got. "Where shall we hide the body? Perhaps the bushes?" He motioned off the path to a set of dense brush.

After a moment, Emmalia recovered and wiped off her mouth. "The swamps, there's some off to the North, not far at all, we can drag him there easily." She turned to face the corpse and hardened herself to it. This was what she had done to the man who had so tortured her. Nothing could change that now.

Callum nodded. "I'll grab his legs if you grab his arms?" He suggested, unsure how to carry a lacerated, blood covered body with no decipherable limbs.

Emmalia nodded and grabbed the corpse by the upper arms, which she hadn't broken, and picked him up. She made sure to carry most of the weight of the torso so Callum couldn't as she led him to the swamps. When they arrived, they tossed the corpse in and watched it sink. Emmalia stared at the place it had sunk, and said quietly, "It's over...."

Cal had a hard time attempting to pick up thr body, but they got it done all the same. Afterwards, Cal held his chest, as if it would somehow help him breathe better. "We don't have to worry about him ever again." Cal said, hoping it might cheer her up.
