Callum turned to face her and smiled. "So, Emmalia, anything you want to talk about? We've got a lot of time to do whatever we want." He said, hoping they could find some way to deter boredom. "After all, you are my dearest." He chuckled lightly and flashed a bright smile and relaxed in the seat. They had a multiple day trip ahead of them, which would be plenty of time for them to catch up on anything they needed to or simply talk to one another.

"Yeah, you can tell me exactly what you're planning!" Emmalia chuckled. She didn't like surprises. She wanted to be able to help him in whatever the endeavor was.

Callum smiled and sighed heavily, before saying, "We go and reclaim the throne. We say that Gallium should be killed for his actions, since I would be the ruling warlord. We spend a few nights in the grand castle, have a good time, then fake my death after I pronounce Camilla as my predecessor. No one will be looking for me, we can keep adventuring, and we get a really fancy place to sleep for a bit."

Emmalia looked at him with wide eyes and said, "Cal... faking your death is just insanity. We can keep adventuring even if you're technically ruling. Camilla can rule with advisors when you're away. If you fake your death, you think suspicion won't fall on Camilla as a murderess?"

"Of course not, this plan is idiot proof." He smiled. "Look, we have a few days to plan this out and figure out the best course of action. Right now, I kind of just want to sit around and not think about the burden of advisors and being hated by the pupulace I rule." Callum hadn't felt the calling of King in a long time, he believed Camilla would be much better. They had time to talk about it though, and at the moment he simply wished to rest his head with Emmalia.

Em wasn't as sure as he was about the plan, but he had earned the right to just relax for a while. She didn't want him doing anything too risky, their lifestyle was dangerous enough already. And with Ander being a Lord's advisor now, since his father had likely died, Callum was taking on risks. But she just said, "Alright, darling."

Callum sighed softly as he rested his head. Eventually, he turned over to face her and asked, "What should we do with the money? We don't need it, and Gallium's castle is wealthy enough as it is. Charity the money perhaps?" Callum didn't seem the point in giving money to people who already had it, so he figured distributing it throughout the land was the best use for it. If they kept it, the money would collect dust in a treasury somewhere.

"Charity is a good idea," Emmalia said. She looked at Callum for a few seconds, then scooted closer to him and pulled him close so he could lean against her. Very softly, she said, "Give me the reins. I'll drive, you can rest. Okay?

Callum frowned a bit as he rested on her, saying, "No no, I'm not going to sleep so you can sit around and do nothing. I'm going to stay awake the entire trip if I have to." Although he graciously accepted being close to Emmalia, he didn't want to sleep until she did. He wanted to keep her company as long as he could, maybe even get some romantic parts in during this journey. Callum could only hope.

Emmalia smiled slightly and took that as a challenge. She pulled him close against and started playing with his hair gently. "Oh, don't worry about me, dearest. I'll be just fine." She started softly humming the song she had sang previous at the inn some time ago. If she could get him to fall asleep, she would never let him live it down.

Callum couldn't help but smile, a challenge always made him excited. The only problem was, when there's only one thing in the world that can let him sleep, it was difficult not to pass out at the sound of her melodic voice, especially while she was messing with his hair. He tried keeping his eyes wide awake though, knowing that if he fell asleep, he'd never be able to recover from it. He needed to prove his might, albeit through staying awake at her touch.

Emmalia looked down at him and continued stroking his hair slowly. She stopped humming and started softly singing. It was funny how he thought he could outlast her - him being human and all. And she knew he was tired, too. Maybe not terribly tired, but enough that she felt the urge to take care of him - she'd cuddle him if she could, but being on a bench seat didn't help.

Callum chuckled tiredly as he turned his head to look up at her. "You know, it's your fault if I don't go to sleep tonight." He said matter-of-factly. "This isn't fair dearest, you're far too soothing to give me an equal chance at staying awake." He said, feeling his eyelids grow heavy and his space slurring a bit. It was like listening to the sirens song, impossible to ignore and Devine in tranquility. "Perhaps a kiss will make it even."

"I'll drive us through the night too." She smiled and leaned in to give him a slow kiss, then took the reins in her right hand and with her left continued playing with his hair. Sure, it would be nice to have him to talk to the whole time, but she liked taking care of him, so why not? Softly she began singing again.

Callum laughed lightly as he slowly closed his eyes. They didn't kiss very often, but when they did it was magical. Every time their lips connected, Callum often compared them to a sunset of beautiful intensity, burning bright and wonderful before dissipating into a cool and slow moment for them. That was Callum's final moment, though - it was impossible for him to stay awake after that kiss. Slowly, his eyes came to a close and he snored quietly in Emmalia.

Emmalia let Callum sleep and drove until he woke in the late evening. Perhaps she should have convinced him to continue sleeping through the night, but because the very air was so pleasant, and the stars were so bright, she decided to be selfish and enjoy his company. After a bit of chit-chat here or there, she got rather quiet and asked, "Hey, Cal...? You do know.... I mean, I just want to be sure - you do know I can't ever have kids, right?" Some people wanted nothing more than a house full of kids - but she would never be able to provide him that.

Callum frowned and took a moment to process what she said. Couldn't have kids? Callum never really imagined a family life, or at least he tried not to, since his life consisted mostly of adventuring and being in dangerous situations. Especially if Emmalia and him ever got to that point - she wasn't the kind of girl who sat in one place for very long. "Why can't you have kids?" He asked, looking over at her. When it came down to it, Callum did want someone to carry on his bloodline, and this may be a hole in his plan.

Emmalia raised her eyebrow at him. "Vampirism. I physically can't bear kids. Not to mention, after everything Ander did to me, even if I were human I don't think I could have kids." She held eye contact, then quietly said, "I understand if this changes things - if you don't want to pursue this relationship with me. I mean, logically, it's already... illogical." She hoped he wouldn't leave her. But maybe it would be best for him if he did?

Callum didn't need to think long about his decision. "I'm not giving up on this just because of some lousy vampirism stuff." He said with a wave of his hand. "That's not going to determine my life. No kids? So be it." He flashed a smile as he looked over at her. Sure, he was upset about the fact, but he could live with it. Maybe they could try and find a cure for vampirism at some point. In due time, he thought.

Emmalia smiled softly and kissed his cheek. "You're so damn sweet," she said with a chuckle. There was a few moments of silence before she said, "The stars are bright tonight. That's supposed to mean good fortune. Hopefully that means this whole mess with Gallium's throne will go well. Not that I was ever one for signs or symbols. Gods have already cursed me, after all."

"I hope so, I can't deal with more politics for long." He chuckled. Callum wasn't too excited, since he knew lords didn't do much besides sit around, eat, and get mad at people. "And not to mention, you're much more sweet dearest." Callum sat up a bit, and kissed her cheek gently. "I hope everything goes over smoothly and we can get things back in track by the end of the month."

"That would be ideal," Emmalia sighed. "The less politics we deal with the better - if my parents found out I was alive, I'd be hounded. Dunno what they'd do if they got me. Maybe kill or torture me. Honestly, I don't think they could ever believe I ran away - they would look at the money they had and wonder how I could have left it." She went quiet for a moment, as she was in the habit of doing, then suddenly said, "Imagine if I showed up one day, right in front of them, outside, when there's people to see, and told them how awful they were.... Gods, it would be fun, but I'd get murdered quite literally."

"I agree, sometimes taking risks makes life worth it." He cuckold before adding, "Well, what if you showed up with a Lord at your side? I'm sure that'll leave a big impression that you weren't just loving in mud your whole life. For me, it's not that my father would kill me for running away. He'd just put me on lock down and make sure I couldn't go anywhere ever again. Sort of like a full scale grounding for children. I wouldn't be able to adventure, or meet people, or even leave my castle. I'd just have to train to take the throne some day by having boring political chats and sessions."

Emmalia shook her head. "I don't know, they might try to lock me up, they might try to kill me, but the worst thing is, Ander would for certain know where I was. His father was adviser to my father, and I've no doubt in my mind that he has taken up that position." She paused, then suddenly said, "Cal, if we were married, then technically we'd be joining two lands under a familial rule, since I'm the only heir to the LaFarens, and you're Gallium's eldest."

"Is there something wrong with that?" Callum asked softly. Sure, the uniting of two different political powers - especially in different regions - was cause for speculation, celebration and dissention. Each house would want what's best for their own region or personal benifit. Usually a lot of scandals were involved with political adjustments, but it mostly relied on which families were joining together. The LaFaren family and the Cross family would definitely be one for scandals, especially due to the sudden imprisonment of Gallium and reappearance of Callum, just in time to take the throne. This doesn't even include all the possible problems to arise about Emmalia and her family meeting together once more. Either way, Callum was prepared to face the world for her. Ander would also be a problem, but hopefully with what's going on, Emmalia would finally talk with her family and get Ander off their trail for good. This was all assuming Callum wouldn't get shot in the throat by an arrow from an angry mob member or an assassin from Emmalia's family.
