Em sighed and hugged him close. She didn't like when Callum worried, and she knew he would be stressed about this for the days until they got back to the castle.

During the ride, Callum didn't say much. He remained close to Emmalia though, and almost never pulled away. When they reached the castle however, Callum exited the carriage with haste. He went down into the dungeon area with three of his men welding pickaxes, and instructed them to strike away at the wall.

Once the wall was broken through, Callum helped in clearing the entrance. They pushed past the bars and stepped into the old cell - inside, a skinny morsel of a man lay propped against the wall, clutching his chest with his eyes shut tight. He recoiled at the light from their torches, his skin as pale as a ghost. "Cameron!" Callum said in excitement, and rushed over to his side quickly. He offered him water from his canteen, but obviously didn't recognize Callum's voice.

"Stay back!" He said, attempting to squirm away. "Go back to hell demon!" Cameron kept fighting Callum until the guards eventually helped hold him down.

"He needs rest, and a proper meal, and I'm going to need a healer." Callum spoke as they raised him up, and carried him out of the dungeon slowly, with Cameron still trying to fight them.

Emmalia put her hand on Callum's arm. "Well, he's alive, love. Now is just trying to help him. My advice? A dim room, no windows he might try to escape through, and guarded by our best guards. Yes it may seem like a cell again but I don't want to risk him jumping out a window or escaping."

Callum's mind was so preoccupied he almost forgot to respond to Emmalia. When he finally caught himself, he simply chuckled and brought Emmalia into a tight hug. "He's alive!" He whispered, before giving her a deep kiss.

Callum held onto the hug for a while before letting go. "I'll join you for dinner soon, I'm going to check on Cameron before I eat."

Em went off to hunt, and returned soon after to wait in the dining hall for Callum. Even though she had eaten, she liked at least pretending she could have a full dinner with him

Callum eventually came back to their courtyard during dusk, and greeted Em with a kiss. He then sat down at the table and began to eat. "Hello my love."

"He seems to be doing well," Cal replied when he finished eating. "He obviously has the problems you'd expect - he gets blinded from just about any light, he's as fragile as a sapling and can't move from his weakness. But, he's alive. And he'll recover. Maybe not fully, but I have him back, and that's all that matters." Callum continued to eat for a moment before stopping, and looking back at Emmalia. "When he's well... Cameron might take the throne. He's the only legitimate son who's close enough to reclaim it. I'm just an adopted son."

Emmalia frowned at the sudden realization, then said, "But love... He was disowned. You were not, maaking you more legitimate than he. Also, Gallium raised you to rule, I dont know if Cameron knows anything about ruling."

"I suppose." Callum said. "Still, others might find it... Improper for us to keep the throne." Callum continued to eat quietly, thinking on the situation. "We'll see what comes of it."

"Indeed. I also think, well... Cameron may not be able to take the stress of the throne, not for a while at the least," Em said softly. She reached out and put her hand over his. "This may conplicate things, but at least you found him."

Callum nodded. "At least I found him." He gave Em's hand a gentle squeeze. He soon finished his meal and retired to their room for the night.

In a few days, Emmalia was allowed to meet Cameron. She went with Callum and entered the dim room that she had no trouble seeing in. She knew Cameron still wasn't the most mentally stable, but she had met people much worse off than him, she was sure.

Callum brought Emmalia in slowly, just to be sure they wouldn't wake Cameron if he happened to be sleeping. He was awake though luckily, and Callum gave a smile. "Emmalia, this is my brother, Cameron. Cameron, this is Emmalia... My wife." He held his breath after saying that, as if waiting for Cameron's consent.

Cameron sat up in his bed, and although he was feeling much better, still felt the pressure of all those years on him. He tried, however, to keep himself stable long enough to say, "She's pretty, Cal." With a croak for a chuckle.

Emmalia smiled kindly. She was secretly relieved that Cameron was sane. She also felt sure that that would help Callum's mental state too, since he wouldn't have to worry quite as much. "Thank you. It's nice to meet you, Cameron."

Callum exhaled with a grin. "I know it's odd that I was the first to get married, since I'm youngest and all. But Caspian and Caleb are off doing their own thing, so..."

Cameron stretched a bit before saying, "I can't begin to tell you how thankful I am you found me."

"It was not an easy task," Emmalia said. "But Callum and I managed it. Of course, he did most of the work." She wanted Cameron to only think the best of his brother.
