Fantasy Generic Fantasy RP (CLOSED)

Callum had his arms around her waist, and was already in the motion of laying Emmalia down in the carriage as she spoke. His kisses trailed to her neck as his hands kept her sides company. It wasn't until they had arrived at the Capitol that he recovered from their time together. Once he stepped out, Callum stretched and beckoned, "Come my lovely Lady." He said in an overly dramatic tone, a smile plastered on his face.

Em smirked and took his hand as she stepped out of the carriage. It suddenly struck her exactly what they would be doing there, and that ruined her mood a bit.

Callum kissed Emmalia's cheek quickly as he gave her hand a squeeze. "It'll be difficult to see Gallium again, but I can face it - and anything else - alongside you." He hoped this would raise her spirits a bit. He knew if she wasn't weighed down by this, it'd help himself a lot mentally.

Cal remained still for a moment to look Emmalia in the eyes, and gave her his best smile. "I love you Emmalia." He said softly, before walking towards the large doors that led into the Kings palace.

The king happily allowed them into thw dungeons, and by then, Emmalia and Callum knew the route to Gallium's cell and didn't need a guard, though they were, of course, accompanied by one.

"Then after, we ask him about something he doesn't know about and see if he pretends he does," she whispered. "Or, say a lie, and see if he acts like its the truth."

Callum nodded with a heavy sigh, the same way he always did when he knew he'd be in the presence of Gallium. Once they got to the cell, Callum stood by the entrance. "Gallium." He said monotone, and he simply waved his hand in response from his bunk.

"I knew it'd be you. You're the only one that ever visits me." Gallium had a long beard and was much thinner than before.

"Then answer my questions quickly so I can leave as soon as possible. I need to know what happened to Cameron. We know he came back to Cross Castle after he left." Gallium obviously wasn't expecting this, as he sat up with a puzzled look.

"You don't need to know what happened to him. He's dead to my family and never-"

"It's my family too. It's more mine than yours at this point." Callum pointed out with a clenched fist.

"Shut up boy and let me speak. Just because you usurped me doesn't make you any more Cross. If anything it makes you more Reed - those backstabbers always tried clawing their way to the top."

"What?" Callum asked, unsure if he heard Gallium correctly.

"Shut up boy. I may have raised you, but I should've dumped you off to some stranger like your father did."

Em stiffened up, feeling a distinct urge to go into the cell and attack Gallium for disrespecting her husband. But at the same time... Who was a Reed? Callum's birth family? Emmalia put her hand in Callum's, and said to Gallium, "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb, Gallium. We will be out of here the moment you tell us what happened to Cameron."

"Great, now the whore speaks." Gallium rolled his eyes, and Callum launched himself at the door in a futile attempt to break it down.

"I'm going to hang you myself you-"

"Calm down you zealous prick. Cameron came back to the castle, yes. He tried offering me single combat. So, I did as any nobleman would - I had my guards run their spears through his calves, and kept him locked in a cell. He's still there, though I'm not sure anyone's been feeding him since I lost Lordship." Gallium spoke with a wicked grin.

Emmalia thought for a bit, then pulled Callum away from the cell to whisper, "Callum. Didn't we go through all the cells? When the Order took over the castle. Unless there were hidden cells."

"Your whore can be pretty smart some times." Gallium spoke with a chuckle. "I covered the entrance with bricks. It looks like any other wall in the castle. I'd send a guard to throw some of the pigs food from their trough into a well that was dug. Not even sure if he's still alive or not."

"Tell me where I can find this cell." Callum demanded, his hand gripping the bar in front of him.

"If you want to dig his corpse out, it's the wall all the way at the end of the last row of cells." Gallium leaned in, and spoke in a low whisper. "I should never have taken you in. I gave you everything, and you repay me with betrayal and ignorance."

Emmalia gritted her teeth, because of course she heard the last part. She didn't want to steal Callum's thunder by telling Gallium off, though.

Callum's fist tightened, and he almost attempted to punch Gallium through the bars - but instead, he let go of the bar, and calmly said, "Thank you." He then turned with Emmalia's hand in his, and began to walk away.

As they walked away, Emmalia said, "One moment, darling, I want to say something, then I'll catch up with you." She squeezed his hand, then went back to Gallium's cell and hissed, "You are not one to talk of betrayal, Gallium. And ignorance? You may have been a good warlord, but not a just one, and everyone knew it. Thankfully, the Northeast has both now in Callum." She started walking back to Callum, then said to Gallium, "Have fun rotting for your crimes." When she got to Callum's side, she grinned at him and took his hand. "Let's go lover."

There was no response from Gallium as she walked away, and Callum smiled slightly as they walked out together. When they exited, Callum kissed her lightly. "I love you Emmalia." He said quietly.

Callum gave her hand a gentle squeeze as they returned to the king. They thanked him for his help, and were retired to their carriage. Once inside, and when the carriage started moving, he said, "We've been this close to Cameron this entire time, and we never even knew he was there."

Em put her hand over his and said softly, "You can't blame yourself, love." She had a hunch that Cameron was alive, just because of how many servants and guards were there from Gallium's time.

"I know, I know... But, if I just... Looked just a little harder. Or asked around more..." He sighed heavily before leaning against Emmalia. "If he's dead, I'll never be able to forgive myself."

An frowned and wrapped her arms around his torso to hold him close to her. "No. Never forgive Gallium. Not you. Do you understand? This wasn't your fault at all."

Callum didn't respond as his mind raced. Being this close to finding his brother, and yet having to wait the entire ride back to the castle was going to kill him inside; he'd have too much time to think. He simply embraced Emmalia lightly, and kissed the top of her head.
