"You can always have some of mine if you ever need it." Callum offered. He knew too much human blood would turn her feral eventually, but maybe his blood was different, since he was dead? He figured the gesture was nice in its own way, even if it wasn't useful.

Em smiled slightly and raised her head to look at him. "Thank you, but no, I should go back to animal blood. However, your sister...." How would Camilla get human blood when she was injured? "She doesn't follow my diet, if you understand my meaning."

Callum tilted his head, unsure what she meant. "But you're both vampires. As long as you drink-" He paused, and had a moment of realization. "I'll stop off by her today."

"I agree. Once she recovers though, I'll force her onto your diet. I won't let her become feral." Callum reached out and gave Emmalia's hand a squeeze. "Thank you. For everything."

Em squeezed his hand back, then said, "She has enough restraint, she has never killed or caused harm, so she hasn't gone feral and isn't really at risk of it either. But I dont know, with her being injured, if she might attack you and then get herself into trouble."

Callum nodded and kissed her gently. "I'll be careful. Please heed my advice, and stay as safe as you can be. I'll try and be back before long."

"I will be in the library, or our bedroom. Stay safe," Em said as she. Got up and went to their room. She pulled out the crystal that held Willow, and summomed the cat. Immediately, she pulled the small cat into her lap and pet it slowly, seeking some comfort.

Callum descended into the dark underbelly of the castle, where most of Callum's worst interactions happened. He always passed spirits whenever he entered. There were so many that Callum couldn't quite get rid of them all. He tried to when he could, but usually he only went into the dungeon with a goal in mind, and didn't try to stop and help them. So, he listened to them as they spoke, some of them cursing his family, others wailing to be saved. Callum ignored them all as he entered the cell with the Order members, waiting a moment to look them all in the eye before shutting the door behind him, and proceeding to do as he promised to Emmalia.

Em was in the room with Willow, laying on the bed half-heartedly reading a book about local beasts. Willow was laying on her lap, purring contentedly. None of this helped distract Em from feeling distinctly upset by knowing what Callum was doing.

When the door opened again, Callum was the only thing to step out. His knuckles were red from contact and his outfit was adorned with their blood, which he didn't bother trying to cover. Callum ascended the steps and out into the light, watching the sun just barely under the castle walls. He made a stop to receive a fresh set of clothes before finally stepping into their bedroom. "Hello, love."

"I did." Callum responded, and sat beside her. "Good news is the bastards are losing a lot of their men. Maybe enough that they'd stop attacking my damn castle."

"The king's writ should help also," she said. She waited a few moments, still not looking at him, and said, "You feel better?"

Callum didn't answer. He didn't know how he felt, and figured any answer he gave wouldn't please Emmalia. Instead, he began his own question. "What are you reading?"

Em looked down at the book. "It's about the beasts in this region. I was surprised to see one or two in here so far than I am unfamiliar with."

Callum nodded his head and leaned over a bit to read some of it. "You read beastiaries? I figured all your knowledge was from fighting them."

"I would have a hard time defeating what I don't know. No, when I trained as a dark hundreds, this is the stuff we had to study. See, some of these, you shouldn't kill them. It would cause an imbalance in nature. Some must be killed, though. And it's important to know how to handle them." Em said

Callum leaned against Emmalia as she talked, listening closely. "I'd like to learn a bit about these. I need to catch up on my monster hunting skills."

Callum didn't speak for a moment as he gazed into Emmalia's eyes. Whatever he was going to say, it clearly wasn't easy for him to speak it. "I, I believe... I think I should give up the castle. And the title of Warlord."
