Callum reached up to wrap an arm around Emmalia. "I know we will, we always do. I just pray we don't have to meet the Order at our own castle again."

"Before you do," Callum said quietly, clearly about to fall asleep from exhaustion at any second. "One final kiss?"

The next day, some guards from the king arrived, having followed the carriage at a slower pace. They went through every room, closet, and hall of the castle and cleared out any remaining menbers of the order, leaving a few alive for Callum to deal with as he wished.

Callum had been appreciative of the work of the Kings guard, and was even more grateful for leaving some of them alive. He didn't have a second thought as he sent them to the dungeon deep under the castle, and planned to interrogate them to plot his revenge on the Order later on.

Em took care of Camilla, and took care of Callum's mental state as well. During a private lunch, she said, "Love... can you promise me something?"

"No torture." Was all she said as she looked him in the eyes. "I know what you think they deserve. But torture gives you incorrect information, and it hurts yourself as well as them. You any think differently, but it does. You're better than that."

Callum clutched his fist. He needed to get revenge on something, anything; it just so happened he had the perfect candidates to torture, the people responsible for Emmalia's suffering. There was no way he'd pass up this opportunity. "It won't be torture, it'll be... Killing them slowly."

Emmalia frowned. "Callum. You're better than that." She reached out and out her hand over his fist. "You're better than vamped out me." When she had been vamped, she had tortured her own torturer, though his death was still relatively quick. "I know you want revenge, my love, I know you do. But these zealots would rather take that pain than reform. So it doesnt matter to them."

Callum's fist remained balled up, but he calmed a bit with Emmalia's touch. "It's not for them, it's for me. I need them to pay for what they did, Em."

Callum's head bowed a bit. "I'm not sure. Maybe it will" After a moment, he continued. "What would you have me do?"

"Interrogate them without torture. Get a mage to put a truth spell on them. And when you're done, you can execute them, quickly and efficiently," Em answered.

Callum made it obvious he wasn't fond of the idea, but considering it came from his wife, he took it into consideration. "I'll get a mage to put the spell on them, and I'll interrogate them without torture, until I get what I want. Then I'll burn them all alive."

"They burned you, I'll burn them." Was Callum's response, and made it evident he wasn't open to discussion after that. He stood tall and continued with, "Don't leave the safety of the castle while I'm getting information... Please."

Em put her head in her hands and is it stared at the table for a bit, then said, "Fine. But for the corpses, don't burn them. Burn them while they're alive with brands if you truly must, but if you burn them alive, or their corpses... It is an awful smell that will make me very ill."

Callum looked down at Emmalia, clenching his fist tight. He wasn't sure what he was feeling; Emmalia didn't want him to get the revenge he sought, but she was the reason he felt he needed to get revenge in the first place. He wasn't sure how to proceed, remaining still and quiet for a while. "I'll be back up tonight."

"Make sure you don't smell like blood," she said with a sigh. Speaking of.... "I actually should go get some blood from a rabbit. I'll go through the kitchens, I won't hunt, don't worry." This would be difficult since the last blood she had had was human, but she would manage.
