Callum calmed a bit when Em held his hands, giving hers a gentle squeeze. "I hope those bastards burn in hell for hurting you. I can't... I can't fathom seeing you in pain like that again."

Em moved closer to him and sat on his lap, knowing he was getting upset. "Shh, it's okay, love. I'm okay now, and they're dead, and that's all that matters."

Callum wrapped his arms around Em, holding her close to him. "I love you, Emmalia." His voice was shallow and drained, letting the events of their recent adventures get to him. After a moment he chuckled. "I thought our lives would get easier when we got married."

"What ever gave you that impression?" she chuckled and kissed his cheek. She didn't care that Camilla was there, her husband needed comforting.

Callum smiled a bit at the kiss, returning it lightly. "I honestly have no clue. A huntress and a warlord don't make for a very good stay-at-home type of family."

"Exactly. We're okay, love." She kissed him again, then kissed all over his face, trying to distract from bad thoughts.

Callum smiled at Emmalia's barrage of kisses, returning them to her every now and then. His arms wrapped around her gently as he said, "Thank you Em. You always know how to keep me up."

Callum chuckled a bit. "You're too kind to me Em." He said quietly, knowing that was enough to encompass what he felt for her. The rest of the carriage ride was uneventful besides their romantic banter. They got Camilla into a healers tent and prayed they wouldn't notice - if they did, Callum would he willing to offer as much gold as he could to keep him quiet. He just prayed it wouldn't come to that.

Of course the healer noticed Camilla's black blood and figured it out, but she didn't seem especially phased by it and waved off the extra gold offered. "I don't like the Order, and Lady Camilla has always done us right. Just be gentle with the wounds and rest."

Callum gave a look to Emmalia, one that showed he wasn't sure about letting more people know about her condition. For now though, he accepted the help that was offered. "Here, I'll get you situated at the inn and come back to check on Camilla." He offered.

Emmalia nodded and they got to the inn. She made sure to check the room for safety and check the lock on the door, which she felt was adequate. Once she had reassured Callum of her safety, she said, "Now go care for your sister."

"I will." Callum said, giving Em a long and passionate kiss. He made sure he conveyed his emotions clearly with it, before slowly pulling back. "You're positive you feel safe in this room? I want you to be as secure as you feel necessary."

"Cal, I feel perfectly safe. You forget I'm a huntress sometimes. I will be fine, I swear it," she said softly. "Please, check on Camilla, I think she needs reassuring of her own safety now. SHe isn't a warrior like us, she was very, very shaken when I spoke to her when we were alone."

Emmalia was bored in her room, as nothing happened, but she didn't leave it, because she didn't want Callum worrying. She had no concern for her own health, she just didn't want him to be more stressed or angry when he found out she had left her room.

Callum went into the place Camilla was staying at, and made sure to comfort her as best he could with how drained he felt. When she eventually fell asleep, Callum almost wasn't sure he'd be able to stand up again. However, despite his soreness, Callum dragged himself back to the Inn, and knocked on the door. "Em, it's me."

"Camilla was fine, she's sleeping like a baby now." He returned the hug with newfound vigor, glad to be back in the presence of his wife. "I can't begin to exclaim how happy I am that you're both safe."

"Well I'm happy too," Em joked. "But love, you know you can't keep me out of every fight. I'm your wife and your companion - I can't always stand aside while you go off to fight."

Callum's demeanor dropped a bit, and he began to undo the straps on his armor. "Emmalia, Out of the two of us, you're the most likely to get killed. It's never bothered me before, but, after I... After I died, it was the worst feeling you could imagine. I can't bear thinking of you going through that."

Em said, "And it doesn't make me happy knowing that you went through it at all. But just because I'm more likely to die, doesn't mean I can be put in a glass case. When you were human, I didn't make you stay out of fights."

"This is different Em, they want you more than me. They see you as something else. I promise I'll stop trying to keep you in a safe boundary once this fight with the Order dies down. But right now, you have an entire regime trying to kill you specifically."

"Even more reason they'd want to kill you." Callum added, and eventually had taken off all of his armor. He sat down on the bed with a sigh, laying back and closing his eyes.
