Callum raised a hand to keep her back. "Get Camilla and find a place to hide until you hear the fighting stop. Okay?" He said quietly as they began to march towards them, weapons drawn.

Em looked up at Callum for a few seconds. "Hiding hasn't worked well so far. I'll stay behind you, but if you start getting overwhelmed, I will fight."

"No fighting." Callum told her again, more stern this time. "You are not getting hurt, and neither is Camilla." Callum narrowly moved his foot out of the way of a pike, swatting it away and tabbing the man holding it. He kicked him backwards into the group to give himself a second.

"We can argue later," Em said. She turned to find Camilla, simply because she wanted to keep her safe. Em brought her into one of the bathing rooms, which had heavy locks on the one door, and sat her down. "Are you okay? What did they do to you?"

"Nothing too bad," Camilla said, although she was shaking slightly as she leaned against the wall. "After what happened to you and Callum, I just couldn't do anything. I froze. I didn't even put up a fight. The thought of being tortured paralyzed me." She subconsciously began scratching at her arm as the sound of clashing swords raged outside.

Em reached out and took Camilla's hand to keep her from scratching her arm too deeply. "It's okay, you're safe now. We'll get the wound on your neck treated, and any other wounds there are."

"Absolutely. He's the best swordsman in Trulane." He also couldn't die, but she didn't know that. "He will be just fine."

Camilla nodded slowly and looked at the ground. "I'm sorry I can't be any help to you two. I'm just a frightened cat next to you." Camilla chuckled quietly.

Em shook her head. "It's nothing to apologize for, this is just our lifestyle. I couldn't make a dress, and I wouldn't want to try - just as you don't want to fight. It's nothing bad."

Camilla nodded, and almost spoke when a sword went through the door, along with a grunt, before being pulled back out alongside more commotion. Camilla backed away a bit and said, "Maybe you should stand in front. You know, just in case someone runs past Callum."

Em chuckled. "Nobody will. I tried to stand behind him, but he refused to let me fight, so I'm here with you. Don't worry, I'm fast as an arrow, nobody will get to you even if they somehow get past Callum."

Camilla nodded and remained still, listening closely to the fighting. It began to die down a bit, with less clanking of multiple pieces of metal hitting each other. It progressively died down for a bit until there was one final thud of a suit of armor hitting the floor, then silence. A few moments later, the door opened with Callum on the other side, a few dents and cuts in his armor, and a single slash across his face that wasn't to deep. He was covered in blood. "They're gone." Callum said casually.

"Thank you, love," Em said with a smile. "We should find the healer to get that cut fixed, and heal Camilla's wounds also."

Callum nodded and wiped off some blood from his face. "Will you take her to the village down the road? I can try and clear out whoever is still in the castle while you're away."

Em hesitated, then said, "Cal, I think we need our healer." Their in-house healer knew of Em's vampirism and had kept quiet. It would be best not to let others know of Camilla's vampirism, but Cal didn't even know she was a vampiress yet.

"He could be anywhere in the castle, or even dead for all we know." Callum said. "We might not have the time to find him. Did anything harm you terribly?" He asked.

Emmalia looked at Camilla, who held up her forearm to show a small cut, where black blood came from. She said, "Before you say anything, it wasn't Emmalia." She meant that Em didn't turn her.

Callum looked at the wound and sighed. He had spent so much time with Emmalia, he almost forgot normal people didn't have black blood. After taking a moment to realize this, he proceeded to ask, "You're a vampire?" He wasn't sure if any other species had the same color blood.

Camilla nodded. "I have been for a long time now." She shifted a bit uncomfortably. "If it's a problem, it doesn't need to be healed now." It hurt like hell, but she could wait if needed.

Callum tried to formulate any sort of answer that he could, eventually falling on, "Why didn't you tell me? And have you told Emmalia already?"

Camilla nodded. "Em has known for a while now, and respected my wishes for secrecy. I never told you, because... Well, I suppose because it never seemed to matter."

"You could literally outlive me and stay the same age, and that doesn't matter to... Nevermind, that's not important right now. I'll try and look for our healer, if he's still alive."

Em had raised an eyebrow at him. He would have outlived her if she had been human, and he seemed to have forgotten that. She nodded when he said he would look for their healer.

"Emmalia, keep Camilla safe and don't leave this room until I come back alright? I mean it this time. I can't have either of you being taken from me." Callum began to make his way for the exit to the room, Sword drawn.
