Callum had hoped that investing his time in a book would allow time to go on faster, but it had just seemed to force him to look out the window more often to see if it was morning yet. After a rather long time of trying, he finally set down the book and looked over at Emmalia, admiring her for a bit. Then he realized she was running her hand over her scar. "It doesn't hurt does it?" He asked calmly.

The burn was still forming a scar, and was red and tender, but she finished another glass of wine and said, "No. But feels weird." She had a lot of things on her mind.

Callum remained still on the bed for a moment, before slowly opening his arms wide. "Come here." He said softly, almost a whisper.

Callum smiled at Emmalia's smile, and kissed the top of her head gently. "I love you, Lily Pad." He said softly with a light chuckle.

"Love you too, Cal," she said. She got comfortable against him, but again she felt the urge to brush her hand over the burn on her cheek.

Callum held her against his chest tight, keeping her hands from going to her face. "I'll always love you Em." He told her. "No matter what happens to you or me. I'll be yours for eternity."

"No," she said quietly. "The burn is tender but it just feels weird. I don't like it." She wrapped her arm around his waist and held him close, feeling especially clingy because of the alcohol. She obviously had something else on her mind, though.

Callum waited for a moment after she finished talking to see if she'd continue. When it was evident she wasn't going to, he gave her side a gentle squeeze to get her out of thought. "Is there something else, Emmalia?"

"Which one?" He asked with a blank expression, until he realized the only one he had really talked to her about was the recent exorcism they had done. He spoke again as if he hadn't already. "I know. It's tough to deal with some times, but we've fixed it now. She's where she belongs."

Em stayed quiet for a bit. It was hard, but she made herself say, "It's scary. If a mage can do that, what else can they do? Can they do that to a living soul?" She didn't know that Daniel's abilities had a side effect that was in a way similar to having a demon tied to his soul. She sounded scared.

Callum could tell she was scared and held her tight in his arms as a reaction, and kissed Em's cheek lightly. "I'm not sure love. So far we haven't seen a real person get taken over, so that must be a good sign."

Very quietly, she asked, "Do you think I have a soul? A ghost to leave behind? I was always told vampires would go straight to hell, or had no soul at all. I always figured it was going straight to hell, especially for those who went insane, but I don't know."

Callum took a moment to think. He didn't have an answer, since none of the ghosts he met seemed to be vampires. He was thinking more heavily on what he might do if her ghost stayed there while he was alive. Would he send her on her way, or try and keep her around for as long as he could? Callum wasn't sure, and the thought of being alive without her killed him. "I don't know Em. We'll never figure that out though, because I'm not letting you die. Ever."

Em smiled at his words, but her eyes don't reflect it. Hadn't she thought the same about him? She shifted her position and hugged around his waist. "I love you," she said quietly, signaling that she knew it was a dark topic and they could move on from it.

Callum was relieved that she was alright with dropping the topic. Things could get dark quickly when speculating about things that could have infinite possibilities. "I love you too." He said, deciding to switch his focus to giving Em a barrage of kisses.

Em chuckled and closed her eyes. She was getting used to his attacks of affection and had learned not to react harshly. Also, her reactions were slowed by her alcohol intake. She put a hand on his cheek to stop him, then leaned in and gave him a slow, gentle kiss before nestling against him again.

Callum enjoyed the sort of sway they had between her and him choosing the pace they went in. When Emmalia rested against him again, he wrapped an arm around her, and Cal ran his free hand along her back.

Callum had been the last to fall asleep and the first to wake up. He slowly got up, trying not to wake Em, and got into his casual attire. Once dressed, he had quickly went down to the tavern downstairs and came back up. When he entered again, Cal set a tray of various breakfast foods he knew she enjoyed on the table beside the bed. "Good morning love." He told her and shook her gently.

Em slowly opened her eyes and smiled softly. "Morning, dearest." She had been about to grab his arm and pull him onto the bed before sleeping longer, but the scent of delicious food woke her. She sat up and looked at the tray of food. "Oh, thank you, love." She tugged on his hand so he would sit next to her on the bed. "Share this with me."

"Well, how can I say no to a Lady?" Cal spoke with a soft chuckle, sharing in Emmalia's meal, but letting her have most of it since he had gotten it for her. "How are you feeling? Sore?" Cal asked as he ate, hoping she wasn't still suffering from the effects of the torture they had both endured earlier that year. Callum subconsciously brought a hand to his missing finger, wincing slightly.
