Em frowned and put a hand on his chest, gently pushing him back down. "You must still be delusional," she said quietly. "You don't need to use force or might and you can't even walk on your own."

"Stop, let me up." Callum told her. "I'm not letting them hurt me, or you, or anyone else. I don't care if they're vampires or tenth dimensional beings. The Order won't exist soon."

Em paused. Why had he said that, that he didn't carer if they were vampires? Was he going back to that hatred of vampires again? She didn't let him up. Sternly, she said, "Callum. Lay down. You're not well and if you keep pushing yourself you'll only get worse."

"Help me up Emmalia, I need to get payback on those bastards for what they did to my wife." Callum said, attempting to get up again. "You should be helping me!"

"I can, and I will." Callum told her. "Help me up or I'll get someone who will." Callum said with a grunt of pain, lifting his upper body off the bed.

At this point, Em was pretty sure this was whatever poison that was causing him such severe mood swings. Evidently force wasn't working. Maybe if she got his mind off of it? In the spur of the moment, she leaned in and kissed him hard on the lips - it was her first thought to make sure he didn't yell for someone else again.

Callum wasn't expecting the kiss, and was surprised at the sudden connection of their lips. After a moment, he tried to continue to talk as she kissed him, but his words faded into him kissing her back in the same way.

Em kept kissing him for a few more moments, then pulled away and looked him in the eyes. "Are you okay now? No more breaking glass or trying to overexert yourself?"

Callum looked Emmalia in the eyes for a moment. "I still want to... But I think I can be sedated." Callum said, bringing a hand to his head and resting back on the bed.

Em moved to accommodate him and kept a hand on his shoulder. "Cal, I am not going to drug you unless there's really no other choice. If I have to keep kissing you whenever it gets out of hand, I will. I can improvise."

Callum raised an eyebrow, seeming to not know she could kiss him at any moment. "Well, if you put it that way." He said in an overly flirtatious way.

EM frowned and crossed her arms, sitting back to look at him. "I don't know what to do with you. First you're screaming about vampires and the Order, then you're trying to run out of here, and... Gods." Maybe she ought to just drug him....

Callum closed his eyes for a moment before looking back up at her. "Emmalia..." He began, taking a rather long pause. "Will you nap with me?" Part of callum's sanity was returning, but who knows for how long. So, he decided to at least side with Emmalia for the time being.

Callum thought about trying to bolt for the door, but he knew he wouldn't make it very far even with Emmalia still being somewhat wounded. He winced a bit as he settled into position, and slowly, fell asleep in Emmalia's arms.

Em pulled Callum close and kissed the top of his head, then closed her eyes to rest, but not sleep. Never to sleep while he was wounded.

The next day, EM kept Callum occupied and would kiss him if she feared he was getting too excited about anything. As he slept that night, though, everything started taking its toll on her. She had started dozing and had had a nightmare, and now sat in the bed silently crying and holding her head in her hands. She didn't want to wake Callum, but she couldn't stop the tears or the pain.

Callum may have been in asleep, but it didn't take much for him go wake after being on edge for a week before. He slowly opened his eyes and heard her near-silent crying. Cal sat up and said, "Emmalia...? What's wrong?"

Emmalia kept her hands on her head and shook her head slightly, not wanting to even try to begin to explain it. SHe couldn't put her finger on precisely what it was, but it was something to do with the memories of being helpless to the mage's spell, then helpless as the Order tortured her and her husband, then helpless to help Callum with all of his wounds. Then there was what he had pointed out two days ago - she was a vampire, a monster to be hunted for the crime of existing, and hadn't she bitten him twice? And she killed that little girl and the woman too, even under the mage's spell, the blood had tasted good. there was the pain of all of her burns, a few older than others, the pain in her back, and the fact that she had lost a bit of her vision. Oh, and her husband was sometimes manic, on top of it, and she just didn't know how to deal with it anymore.

Callum watched over her, unsure of how to approach. He was never good with consoling others, but Emmalia was his wife, and he was damn sure he'd try. He slowly put a hand on her shoulder, and said, "If it's anything to do with recent events... Just know none if it is your fault. You and I got in this together, and we'll get out of it together. Just like we always have... Like we always do."

Em closed her eyes and nodded slightly. She knew he was right, but it was hard to believe it after everything that had happened. Quietly, she said, "We've been through he'll and back and I cant make myself belueve thst there will ever be a return to our old normal. And I can't believe that things like this will never happen again. I dont know how to handle it." She was trying to explain what was going on in her head but it wasn't easy at all.

"Shh, I understand." Callum pulled her in closer and ran his hand up and down her side. "We can adjust. We can overcome. You and I are versatile. If the worst comes, we simply live the rest of our days as wonderfully simple farmers in the far reaches of the realm. I have a backup plan for everything Emmalia, and they're all wonderful, because they all have you in the end."

She shuddered as he touched her, then calmed slightly in his arms. "Cal... I'm a monster, I drank that girl's blood, I can be manipulated by mages and I lose control sometimes, and I wasn't careful enough about covering my tracks and the Order found us, I-I dont think we can ever get away from that." By the end she was speaking quickly and practically panicking.

Callum didn't want to interrupt her, but knew she'd just worry herself more if she continued to speak. "We can deal with it one day at a time, don't worry about it." He kissed her head gently. "We'll find a solution to the Order and everything else. All that matters is the public doesn't know your a vampire."

Em just kept staring straight ahead and moved her hands over her ears again. "My head is so loud, Cal, I can't do this," she whispered as she started crying harder.
