Fantasy Generic Fantasy RP (CLOSED)

Callum brought a hand up to his eyes and made a drawn out sigh. "I suppose so. I just - we don't know what could happen here. Something of this scale isn't easily swayed Em. A lot of the times in these situations someone with a lot of power or wealth is involved, which means there's usually some pretty big resistance to helping."

"I agree, but we need to recall that this case is extraordinarily strange. We could still be talking about a possession, here. People are scared, and I don't blame them. But for now, we need to keep looking."

Callum nodded his head. "Should we keep searching for today? Is there any more places or people we could get information from?"

"I'm kinda low on ideas right now. We've talked with the public, with churches, with guards. There's not many people left we can talk to."

"Yeah. Let's walk around the city, into a forested area where I could catch a squirrel, then back to the inn. We might cross a clue that way."Em wouldn't stop an investigation just because she was hungry, but if it was on the way....

Emmalia led the way down the paths through the city and into the pine forest. She had difficulty finding a squirrel, and so led them further into the woods. A lone deer stood, as if expecting them, and suddenly charged, trying to stab them with its antlers. Em grabbed Callum's arm and pulled him to the side, but after missing them, it just turned around and ran at them again. Again they moved, and this time as it passed, Emmalia used her crossbow to shoot it through its heart. Immediately it collapsed, struggling very little before dying.

Callum watched patiently as the ordeal went down. "Thank you for saving my life dear maid, I must marry you for such bravery." Cal joked.

"I'm afraid my hand's already taken, dear knight." She smiled at him, then said, "It's extremely strange for a deer to charge at people - not once, but twice. This could have something to do with, well, everything else."

Callum nodded his head. "I sure do hope everything will be fixed when we kill or disband whatever is causing this... phenomenon. It's looking more and more like something paranormal is the reasoning, God's forbid."

Emmalia nodded, then winced a bit and brought her hand to her head. A headache was odd, but not unheard of for her. Probably had something to do with the dead deer laying in front of her while she was really hungry. "We will deal with it, whatever it is," Em said as she knelt down and drank from the deer, her glamour dropping for a moment, until she had had her fill. The headache ddin't go away, but at least it seemed to have lessened. She stood and wiped her mouth, then said, "We should keep looking, I think...." She sounded rather hesitant when she said this.

Callum always looked around whenever Emmalia fed, since he always felt watched, but looked over when she finished. Cal raised an eyebrow when she paused. "Is something wrong, dear?" He asked, stepping closer.

"Uh, yeah, I just have a headache." Em took his hand in hers and they started walking back towards the inn. "Hey, Cal...? DO you think maybe we should just... leave this one be? I mean so far we have no real clues, and people aren't helping us much at all...."

"We've been called here by the Lord, it'd be a statement if we helped Aman and not him - a statement that the warlord is very selective in his help. Something will present itself soon Em, I assure you."

"But Cal, we could just say that we maybe already solved it? Or say something happened at our own castle? Then we could just go home...." It wasn't like Em to want to give up on something like this.

Callum sighed and gave Emmalia's hand a gentle squeeze. "I suppose. But do you really want to leave this place in such a time? You are My Queen Emmalia, and I shall do whatever you wish, but are you certain you would rather leave than stay?"

"Well, I just don't think we're going to get anywhere. Things will probably turn out fine even if we leave." Never had Emmalia showed such an attitude when it came to helping people. If anything, she normally went beyond what was needed to help others.

Callum frowned a bit and stopped walking. "Emmalia, are you sure you're not falling ill? You're not usually like this. Maybe we should think on it for a night or two."

Em looked up at him innocently. "Oh, okay. Maybe you're right, this headache is pretty bad too... I think I'd like to rest."

Callum nodded, unsatisfied with her answer. "Are you sure you have just a headache? Perhaps it's a cold coming on, the summer has far ended. Let's get you to a warm bed." Callum began walking with her again towards the direction of the city.

Callum guided Emmalia back to their inn, sitting with her on the bed. "Should I fetch a healer? Are you feeling alright?" He asked, unsure how else to help. "Please let me know if you feel any discomfort."

Emmalia shook her head. "A healer would find out what I am. But it's strange. I can't get sick, I'm a vampire. I can get headaches, sure, but not illnesses."

"I'll pay the healer to keep quiet. I want the best for you Emmalia. I'll fetch a healer from Cross Castle if it'd please you."
