I'm not sure what to do. Our trapfinder is MIA and not sure how to proceed without her....

I mean I could setup a different board for the three of us to chat in character, just to give us something to do. Or have something happen so she gets separated from the group as start a different thread...

I think Segue’s just awash in life right now , like Prole is. Hopefully she’ll be back soon , at least with enough time to make posts for this. Even on a mechanical level , we sorely need a Rogue to be able to get anywhere safely.. and Istar would , of course , be absolutely devastated if Rihaly left her. It’d be very harsh across the board without Rihaly around.

As for the rest of the ideas.. I can already tell you that separating Rihaly from the group like that would make Istar a nervous wreck , sorry. Now that could very well be a possibility if we absolutely have to move things along (and it might be interesting to see) , but I’m just warning everyone in advance that Istar’s most definitely not going to take it well.

And as for making a desperate IC thread for our characters to talk.. what would we actually do? Would it actually be any sort of canon , or would it be kind of a non-canon little side-adventure sort of thing , just to pass time? I’m not necessarily discounting the idea , I’m merely trying to get a better grasp of what the purpose of it would be.

In any case , I feel as if Segue’s going to return soon (maybe her absence was Halloween/vacation related?) , and as such we might be able to just wait around a little more for her to return.
 
Hmm... As to canon or not that could be up to the group.

I could setup a non-canon scenario where the group is able to use their powers, skill at arms and abilities without really worrying about actual death. Plus you would be able to really see what your characters can do.

This might be heavy on combat as well as RP. Plus I might be able to get creative assistance from my personal rogue/bard, as in she would voice/act for some of the adversaries.

Bramtic Bramtic thoughts? I know drawersy was a favorite of yours.
 
Well , I figure if the point is setting up something where our characters don’t have much/any chance of death , it would naturally be heavier on combat than RP. Though Istar.. doesn’t ever want to kill anyone , so she’d probably ruin the point of being able to ‘go all out’ and see what the ceilings of their abilities are. Unless we’d be fighting waves of undead , she’s find re-killing some nercomancied , mindless monster.

Personal bard as in a character of yours , or someone else you know that plays in D&D groups? I’d love to see her join the actual party , in that case.
 
To get Istar really involved I was thinking about the undead being the most logical option.

Not a character of mine, but she does(has) played D&D with me for years, and gives me setting and character advice. But she doesn't have the time to be fully involved in a forum based RP. So she would help in fleshing out certain characters.
 
That sounds like the best idea. That’s good you thought of that! It would be fun to have Istar involved too , and not just trying to make everyone avoid killing any of the enemies. I’d love to see what the ceiling for her abilities is!

Ah , I see. That makes sense , as it is time intensive to do forum RPs - though I’d still love to have her around nevertheless , if she ever finds the time. I’m assuming she advises for the main RP too?
 
No , it’s not just you. At the very least , our sectors of RPN are dead right now. Or maybe Catatonic is more accurate , since I don’t believe they’re fully dead yet.
 
Agreed, although, SWANO could move forward a bit on it's own of people just replied to Chuka going up to the attic.
 
To be fair , I’d already have replied if Segue has already responded with the things TeeJay would know about the anti-air/artillery capabilities and what airbases the Seperatist’s have.

Sorry about that. But really , she doesn’t have anything else to say other than giving everyone that information , and maybe a few related asides or suggestions.
 
I’d personally love to continue with this. I believe everyone who’s not been on (segue mostly) should be returning when the New Year starts and all the holiday-related festivities are over , or at least I hope. Then I don’t see why we can’t pick up where we left off , with Keth continuing to talk to the Prince , and Rihaly telling Istar what she thinks of their new companion. And then of course going from there.

And personally , even if Rihaly can’t continue to be with the rest of the party , I’d love seeing Istar react to that. The main issue is the first thing she’d overpoweringly want to do should Rihaly actually die would more or less take her out of the party (as I doubt Keth and the Prince would join her).

Besides , if we restarted and/or started anew all I’d do is very likely resubmit Istar’s character sheet. Perhaps with a few tweaks here and there since I’d have a better idea of what skills she’d want to invest in this time around , having actually played her and seeing how she chooses to behave around others , but other than that she’d be the same as she ever was.
 
I am not interested in continuing. I have a DnD campaign that meets on Thursdays now and Ryloth is about all I wanted to continue with on this site. Sorry.
 
I would love to continue! I'm with HK - with the holidays over, I'm ready to get back into it, in whatever form we can.
 
Ok.

I don't think anyone else is realistically going to be rejoining us. So we'll move on from here. I've got some ideas, but would like y'all's feedback.

We could:
A) Continue as nothing had happened. = Difficult

B) Continue with a magical adjustment with no halfling or memory of that happened = Easier

C) Start new with existing characters = Easiest
 
Out of those options , I’d definitely choose option C. If we’re going to continue without Rihaly , and without any memory she ever existed , I’d rather just start new without having met her at all. Besides , Istar isn’t a Droid , so I feel like she’d always feel as if something was missing if her memory was wiped. And if Segue ever does return and want to keep Rihaly as her character , then she can re-join without having to deal with retconning the retcon that wrote Rihaly our in the first place.

Plus , you probably built that dungeon with a Party theif in mind , so it’d work better if we started a new mission more tailored to the party members we currently have available. Istar’s not particularly tailored to look around for traps and treasure , after all.
 
That actually works very well for Istar , because she tends to daydream quite a lot normally. And being Istar , the happiest Paladin the world over (that we know of) , such daydreams tend to be very saccharine and idyllic , if not downright sappy.
 
Ok. To clarify: the names of the dream people you do not recall, or anything truly specific about what happened in the dream. Just that you may of have had one or something like that.

This way if Rihaly does return there is a fresh start for everyone and no hanging pressure to remember something that did not happen.

Oh! Okay , I’m sorry for taking that in the wrong direction. I’ll delete that post and do another one. (Or wait until the Prince does something so there’s more for Istar to actually do/react to , which would make a more substantial post).

She would probably just remember that it was something very happy and idyllic , in that case.
 
For some reason it won’t let me just delete that , and I don’t quite have time to re-work that (basically I’d be re-doing the whole thing from the start) right now since I’m busy doing stuff today.
